Emma is a Scottish, self published author. She's been an expert daydreamer and long-standing reader since she was a child, and in 2025, she decided to finally put that imagination to use and uncover a passion for writing.
When she's not scheming up scenarios in her head, you'll either find her spending time with her husband and their dog, or at her local pole studio dancing her troubles away, or falling with grace.
Indie is just such a badass, strong, stunning FMC, reading her at her weakest after chapter 27 and then the come back she made and her wrath for revenge and justice. I don't think I've loved an FMC as much as I love her.
Side note: The spice is just chefs bloody kiss, unreal. Literally salivating.

Ok… I’m dying. What was that??? My God, what a book 😭 I was literally staring at the ceiling for a good few minutes, just thinking about everything I had just read.🥺
Wrath is a true emotional rollercoaster. The story picks up exactly where the first one ends and keeps a constant level of intensity throughout. There are unexpected twists, powerful revelations, plenty of action, and a gripping pace. In this book, you really can’t trust anyone. 🥺❤️🩹
Emma’s writing continues to impress. It’s fluid, engaging, and very well crafted. There were moments when I found myself hating certain characters, only to realize that not everything is as it seems. I’m truly happy to have been part of the ARC team for these books, and I highly recommend this dark romance. It’s absolutely worth it. 👌
I loved Saith even more in this book. He’s intense and possessive, especially when it comes to Indie. I’m not ready to say goodbye to him and Indie. Indie is simply incredible, a true badass, a symbol of strength, resilience, and growth. One of the strongest aspects of this story is the characters evolution and maturity. The secret society is very well developed, and in this book we learn so much more, including the reasons behind many things that happened in the first book. This book made me feel everything. Anger, sadness, anxiety, and that racing heart trying to find out what happens next.🥺💔
And the ending was exactly how I wanted it to be.✨ This book will be released in May, so stay tuned!! 🖤
Thank you Emma for giving me the opportunity to read this duet. 🙏🖤 I’m truly very happy to be part of your journey! 🥰 I wish you all the success because you truly deserve it!! These books are really amazing! 🖤
Wrath by Emma Barrie-Blair, Book 2 of the Written In Sin Duet. This is a Second Chance, Dark Romance following Indie Kent and Saint Blackwood. 🚩This is for adult readers only (18+) as it has mature content and not suitable for underage readers. There are dark themes that can be triggering so please check out the content warning before you dive in 🚩
My thoughts 💭 Wrath picks up where Vengeance, book 1 of the duet, ends. If you didn’t read book 1…stop here, read it and come back. In this book we get more of Saints POV and I am here for it! His inner monologue about his love for Indie is beautiful. I truly wish I could read this book for the first time again. I cannot recommend this duet enough. We get so many questions answered, so much betrayal but also much needed clarity from those betrayals. We get to finally meet Malcom and get a better understanding of his entire role in the business! If you like to read second chance, dark romance books with a very much deserved HEA…read this, you won’t regret it! Emma Barrie-Blair put her heart and soul in this duet and you can feel it throughout the pages, I cannot wait for what is coming in the future from her!!!
✨I would like to thank Author Emma Barrie-Blair for the opportunity to read and review Wrath.
I am completely in love with Wrath. This book had me in a chokehold from start to finish.
Saint? Absolutely unreal. He's a perfect storm of delicious, dominant, dangerous energy...but the way he softens for Indie only? Obsessed 🫠. The devotion, the protectiveness, the "her life comes before mine" mentality - he has it all. He would burn the world down for her and not blink. COMPLETE top-tier MMC energy.
Indie is that girl. Strong, witty, and absolutely ruthless when it comes to protecting the people she loves. She is just as obsessed and willing to do anything for Saint. She's fearless and not afraid to get her hands dirty. The character development from who she was before the *incident* to who she is at the end of book two was ** chefs kiss **.
This was addictive, emotional (I may or may not have cried....more then once), and intense in all the best ways. The side characters had such loveable personalities that I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will get their own books as well. Between the nonstop action, plot twists, and all the truths unraveling, this book never slows down. And the chemistry between Indie and Saint? Off the charts. Cannot recommend this duet enough.
This book picked up exactly where the first book ended, which I loved because there was no slow build, it was straight into the action, emotion, and intensity. From the beginning all the way to the end, I was completely invested.
Indie & Saint. I don’t even know how to explain it other than they are that couple. The kind where they would burn the world down for each other and not in a one-sided way. They both show up, they both fight, and you feel that in every moment. That kind of connection made everything hit so much harder.
There were multiple moments where I had to stop and just sit there like… did that really just happen? The tension, the stakes, everything just kept building and I could not put it down. I was literally reading in between working because I needed to know what was going to happen next.
And I have to mention Rex because he was such a standout for me. In the middle of all the action and emotion, he brought just enough humor and personality to balance everything out. He is definitely one of my favorite characters.
Overall, this book had me stressed, emotional, invested, and completely hooked. I loved every minute of it and I’m already not ready to be done with these characters.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of book two in the Written in Sin series, and I had been counting down the days until it finally landed in my inbox.
This book did not disappoint😱. It picks up exactly where the first one left off, which makes it easy to dive right back in from the very first page. There are plenty of plot twists and “what just happened?!” moments that keep you hooked and make it hard to put down. ( I certainly lost a few hours of sleep over this😜 )
Just like in the first book, I sometimes found the love declarations a bit too drawn out, which made certain parts feel repetitive. I also find it slightly frustrating when conversations between characters would get interrupted by long internal monologues, causing the dialogue to lose its flow. Could just be me, but I'd rather have that before or after a confrontation I'm dying to read about🤣.
That said, the story is genuinely gripping and full of tension, and overall, a strong and engaging continuation of the series.
So if your reading mood is somewhere between “I want to feel everything at once” and “I want a story that leaves claw marks on my thoughts,” this one delivers exactly that!!
This was such a strong second installment in the series. It picks up exactly where the first book left off, which made it incredibly easy to dive straight back into the story from the very first page.
From start to finish, this book is a true emotional rollercoaster. It pulls you through anger, sadness, anxiety, and that constant racing feeling of needing to know what happens next. The pacing is gripping, filled with unexpected twists, powerful revelations, and plenty of action. One thing is certain: in this story, you really can’t trust anyone.
We finally get some answers, along with deeper insight into Indie and Saint’s past. Their relationship continues to develop, and I especially felt that Saint’s emotions and struggles were explored even more in this installment.
That said, at times the spice felt a bit too present for me personally, and occasionally came across as somewhat unnecessary.
Overall, this was an intense, emotional, and captivating read that definitely keeps you hooked throughout.
Indie and Saint’s journey continues, rescuing one of her best friends from trafficking after 6 years, seeing people they thought they never would. Indie is even more intent in seeking the Omnia followers and ensuring they are destroyed, things don’t go according to plan as they seem to be one step ahead but Ultio will not be defeated even when faced with unfortunate odds…
We do get some answers, and a bit more about Indie and Saint’s background, how their love grew and stayed maybe more for Saint. We learn of the betrayals from within and why, Saint’s Dad appears to help them out though not before we are dealt a dish of Omnia’s backhandedness. Be prepared for angst, violence, spice, secrets and love that holds no bounds. I totally enjoyed this second book in the Written in Sin Duet. Do read the first one prior to leaping into Wrath 🫶🏻
This book doesn’t ease you in, it drags you under and keeps you there, right back to where we were left in Vengeance.
Everything is pushed further. Truths don’t unravel, they collapse, and realizing who the real enemy is changes everything. There’s no safety, just tension that keeps tightening.
It feels like war, even when it isn’t. More like a cycle of pain, loss, and survival where strength is constantly tested, broken, and rebuilt. Hope is there, but fragile.
The trauma is handled with care… raw, deliberate, and never rushed, allowing both pain and growth to exist.
At its core, this is about the cost of survival and a love so deep it borders on destruction… the kind where both would burn the world for each other.
Closure comes, but not gently. Every choice leaves a mark, and the finality of vengeance feels inevitable.
A heavy, intense continuation that fully commits to love, trauma, and endurance.
Saint and Indigo’s second half of their story was a roller coaster of emotions so much more intense and oh shit moments. The moments that made you cry. The moments that made you laugh and the spicy moments ohh GOD.. it’s not saintly at all. Their relationship grows even darker than I could imagine, and indie becomes more of incredibly powerful woman. The dips and flips this story gives is everything I wanted in book 2! I still want more but I’m very happy with how it ended. Loved the hint at a character from Ashfall! it’s nice to see the universe push a bit together! Highly recommended this book make sure to read book 1 first! Bravo Emma!!
🖤 Second Chance Romance 🖤 Vigilante FMC 🖤 Secret Society 🖤 Revenge 🖤 Touch Her and 💀 Spice: 🌶🌶🌶 Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Book 2 in the Written In Sin Duet by Emma Barrie-Blair
The perfect dark romance read, 10/10 🖤
If you are a dark romance lover this Duet is absolutely perfect! Strong FMC vigilante with plenty of attitude. An MMC you would bark for; who is equally obsessed and possessive. Deception and betryal around every corner. Found Family vibes. High stakes/tension. Heartbreak & healing with a side of emotional wreckage. Spicy scenes to drool over. What more could you want?!
My blood pressure reading this book was sky high, the tension just kept building. It was one of those reads where you fidgit in your seat none stop and have to physically restrain yourself from scanning further down the page to see what happens because you cant read it fast enough. I read chapter 28 with tears in my eyes, (be prepared!). This is a book you will "one more chapter" until 3am because there is no safe place to stop reading, the plot twists just keep coming.
The amount of times I gasped… how my sanity is still intact is insane… literally Then you hit me with chapter27 How dareee you …… breathe Nela ahaha I think I went through every emotion in each chapter seriously. My mmc and fmc got everything they deserved at the end… Every single one of them … 🥹 More than words can say in my opinion I can go on but I’m still processing hehe Seriously like I need to sit with this for a moment……
But thank you for this for letting me ArcRead This masterpiece …

UUUUUGGGGGGHHHHH EMMA DID IT AGAIN! After book 1 in this I didn’t think she could make me so emotional. This book was truly fantastic. I locked myself in my room and spent all day reading while crying laughing yelling everything. I was thrilled to see the characters development within Indie and everything badass!! Saint was still (maybe more then before) deliciously frustrating but then again I do love him! If I could give this more stars I would! You’ll devour this book and then sit there after just reliving it all! Thank you so much Emma I LOVED reading this!
I wasn't sure if Emma could out do herself with Vengeance but when I tell you she did I mean she did!!!!
I don't want to give away any spoilers but OMGOSH!!!!!! Everyone needs to read this. It is so full of love, obsession, loyalty and revenge...... It has heartbreak and bonds that will never ben broken. It has healing and satisfaction.
From the very start it had me hook, line, sinker and absolutely gagged! Saint and Indie were made for each other. Their love and obsession for each other was amazing. The spicy - HOT DAMNNN! I didn’t want this duet to end but also couldn’t put it down until I had devoured it.
The twist and turns and rollercoaster these characters went through from gut wrenching, they just couldn’t catch a break.
I can’t wait to see what is next for Emma because boy does she continue to outdo herself! 🖤
This was the second book in a duet. I was obsessed with the first book and really enjoyed the plot storywise in the second book.
I do think the spice was a bit much in the first 40% of the book. I love a good spicy scene but in my opinion it was taking over the story at some point. But if you love a smutty dark romance this is right up your alley.
