HOT SPRINGS AND DRAWING MACHINESSuper pessimist Uehara Yuuki and mega optimist Miyamoto Niina are still in the throes of their (completely fake) relationship. And...it's working?! Both of them have become better mangaka from acting out various rom-com tropes, to the point where some of those heart-pounding scenarios have actually gotten their hearts pounding. They're now at the level of going on (fake) amusement park dates and doing (fake) karaoke love confessions, but it seems things have grown stagnant. They need a big event to bolster their dreams of becoming mangaka, like...a hot springs vacation? There, one of them might even blurt out a (genuine) confession--unless someone else decides to crash the party!

I love how Niina has so many outfits and almost never repeats. We see more depth into Yuuki with Niina and Ren/love as romantic/friend vibes. I really appreciate the tone both bring and they flow on some anxiety but react with their personalities differently.

There are moments where Niina is so out going but when it comes to true feelings for Yuuki she cowers, and Ren/love is so secluded/isolated but she seeks company and wants to bring Yuuki and co. into her non-existent inner circle.

I loved these two moments where Ren grabs Yuuki’s hand and it made me think “her personal space is violated, but she is comforted”. Then another moment where Niina is asked by Ren “how do you feel about Yuu-kun?” Where it’s this multi layered question that can’t be answered simply, hence her hesitation.

Beautiful series and I loved the creators backstory about their “master” and how their recent meetings helped encourage their development. The drawing a “shoe” story was super interesting to read!

(Ngl though if there was some true nudity I’d be in heaven here lol)

Yet another fun volume in the series. I love these two exploring all the classic tropes together and how they are practically colliding with each other in the process. Then we Love-chan. As much as I am rooting for Uehara and Miyamito there is something about Love-chan that gives one pause. Uehara and her have history and now that he knows who she is that opens a door for her in a big way. Plus she is absolutely adorable. I am having a oh no! moment here lol. And the ending of this volume was so good. The artwork is as usual patchy in its quality but when it shines it is beautiful. Particularly some of the closing drawings.
