This was a very generic isekai, but with a unique gimmick that might be worth a read if it appeals to you.

Plot - 5/10, Characters - 5/10, Setting & Mechanics - 7/10, Writing - 5/10, Enjoyment - 5/10

The MC is playing a virtual reality first-person shooter game and falls off the game map. Instead of respawning at the usual load area, he wakes up in a world resembling a medieval fantasy. Honestly, everything is very generic and formulaic other than the fact the MC has power armor, firearms, and grenades instead of magic and swords.

Other than the MC's (and author's) enthusiasm and borderline fetishism for guns and describing how the character switches from iron sights to HUD crosshairs, all of the characters are extremely bland.

The story seemed to undermine itself at every turn. The prologue was a cold open with the MC gunning down goblins in a labyrinth, so a couple of chapters later, when the MC is wondering whether his FPS weapons will actually work in this isekai world, it just felt like a waste of time. The MC initially couldn't speak the native language, but then basically became fluent after studying for half a day. Why bother introducing an obstacle only to disregard it a dozen pages later?

Honestly, the longer I think about the story, the more tempted I am to take another star. I guess the story delivered on the basic premise, but isekai already struggle with providing authentic struggle for the MC and this story was basically the MC just gunning down everything, sometimes even while doing flips over them with his powered armor. If that's what you're in the mood for, you might enjoy this.
