The people who put this out should be embarrassed. I couldn't get past day 3. The language used clearly points to AI, and the puzzles were ridiculous. Day 1 was a logic puzzle. pretty good. Not too hard, not too easy, gave me the impression that, even though the writing was awful, it would at least be fun to solve a puzzle a day. The second day, I was so confused. I had to put events in order. The characters went through the events, labeling them A through E as the characters listed them. The puzzle was to put the events in order. But the order was clearly paid out!!! I'd have clicked the spoiler button, but I can't even spoil it! the answer was literally A, B, C, D, E! my kids were doing similar work in first grade, but even the teachers had the sense to not put the answers in order!!! Okay, maybe the 2nd puzzle was a fluke, right? Day 3 comes and the premise is that the characters are trying to determine if there was a way in or out. so the housekeeper walks everyone through the closing of the doors. First this one at this time, then that one at that time, etc. I'm not kidding, the question was, which door was closed first? If it wasn't about murder and so poorly written with metaphors that didn't even make sense, I'd have given the book to my children so they could solve the puzzles. Though, even they would find them embarrassing. I've never run to return this trash and get my money back so quickly. I'm convinced that all the 5 star reviews on Amazon (they're all either 5 or 1) are bots, or the "author's" friends and family who didn't even pick up the AI atrocity.
This book is terrible AI garbage and "Elias Winterbourne" (the dumbest fake name ever, by the way) should stop forcing ChatGPT to poop out books for him and get a real job. What a shame. This book is only worth the paper it's printed on, and the text significantly devalues even that. BOOOOOOOOO!!!!
