He has the temper of a dragon. She has the stubbornness to match.

Six months ago, Harper’s world changed forever when her long-lost bonded dragon finally appeared. She’s been waiting that long for Rauk, King of the Dragons, to finally appear. When he does, it’s with all the arrogance, frost, and infuriating authority she expected—and none of the help they need.

With the death of Terron and his gryphon, the ancient guivres have broken free of their cursed forms. Now they’re multiplying, mobilizing, and hungry for dominion. Only the dragons can meet them in the skies, and that means they need Rauk and his kingdom’s help. Harper’s task is follow Rauk into the heart of the Dragon Kingdom and convince a king who cares for no one, who may have murdered his own father, to join their war and save people he doesn’t care about. He’s the king the realms fear. She’s the one person brave enough to challenge him. Together, they might just save their world...if they don’t kill each other first.

I knew going into Spirit Wars by A.J. Manney that it was going to be a stunning tale to give Harper the story she deserved, and I was right! I was swept in and swept away to the world of spirit animals and the wolf, jaguar, and dragon kingdoms.
Dear Harper loves deeply, but her traumatic past has caused her to put up quite the protective and prickly barrier. Letting people in, letting them close to your heart just gives them better opportunity to hurt you when life happens. With the wolf and jaguar kingdoms struggling to fight against the ruthless guivre, Harper is doing her best to keep herself and her dragon going to fight and live another day. She is also growing more frustrated by the day with the dragon king, who is destined to be her mate, for ignoring every summons to come to their aid.
When dragon king Rauk finally does show up, their meeting leaves much to be desired. Rauk is even more distant, abrupt, and closed off than Harper could ever hope to be, and he refuses to have his kingdom join in the war. This leaves Harper in the awkward position of going to the isolated dragon kingdoms to try and convince him to join their fight.
But as Harper spends time in the dragon kingdom, she discovers there is often more than meets the eye, secrets the dragon king is desperate to protect, and soon she must make a decision on which fight she should take on.
Watching Harper grow and open her heart and fight for the ones she loves as well as surrender to a love for the ages was such an adventure, filled with many twists and obstacles. Grab your copy today and see how Rauk and Harper find their happily ever after.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book. Thoughts and opinions are my own.

I went into Spirit Wars by A.J. Manney expecting a powerful story that finally gives Harper the journey she deserves—and it absolutely delivered. From the first chapter, I was pulled straight into a vivid world of spirit animals and the wolf, jaguar, and dragon kingdoms.

Harper is easy to root for: she loves fiercely, but her past has taught her to guard her heart with sharp edges. With the wolf and jaguar kingdoms locked in a desperate fight against the ruthless guivre, she’s doing everything she can to keep herself and her dragon alive. Her frustration only grows as the dragon king—her destined mate—ignores every plea for help.
When Rauk finally appears, their first encounter is… less than ideal. He’s even more distant and closed off than Harper, and he refuses to involve his kingdom in the war. That leaves Harper with the unenviable task of traveling to the isolated dragon lands to convince him otherwise.

But the longer she stays, the more she realizes there’s far more beneath the surface—secrets Rauk is determined to protect, and truths that force her to choose which battles truly matter. Watching Harper open her heart, fight for those she loves, and surrender to a once‑in‑a‑lifetime bond makes for a gripping, twist‑filled adventure. Grab a copy and discover how Harper and Rauk carve out their hard‑won happily ever after.

Sprit Wars (The Spirit Kingdom Book 3)

This book was a ride—and honestly, one of the most emotionally layered installments in the series so far.

Six months after Harper’s world changed with the arrival of her bonded dragon, she finally comes face to face with Rauk, King of the Dragons… and he is exactly what you’d expect—cold, arrogant, and infuriatingly untouchable. With the guivres rising and war looming, Harper is tasked with the impossible: convince a king who seems to care for no one to fight for everyone.

What I loved most in this book was Harper. We finally get to see a softer, more vulnerable side of her, which added so much depth to her character. Her relationship with her dragon felt more developed and meaningful than in previous books, and I especially enjoyed the personality and sass woven into those interactions.

This is truly an enemies-to-lovers story—and I mean that in the strongest sense. For most of the book, I genuinely wondered how the author was going to turn this relationship into something believable. The tension, frustration, and outright dislike between Harper and Rauk felt very real. And Rauk? He made me mad more than once. It took almost the entire book for me to come around to him.

But that’s where A.J. Manney really delivers. The payoff at the end is worth it. The shift in Rauk’s character and the development of their relationship felt earned, not rushed—and by the time I finished, I found myself actually liking him.

Overall, this was a strong continuation of the series with great character development, high stakes, and a romance that truly had to fight its way into existence.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you enjoy slow-burn enemies-to-lovers with strong-willed characters and dragon dynamics, this one is definitely worth the re

Can I love it more? Probably not…

Rauk and Harper were absolutely *chef’s kiss.* I love that how they are both strong, stubborn, and loyal. Personally, I’m very much like Harper on the inside, so I thought I might not like her book. But that was NOT the case. I absolutely loved her inner monologues, her strength, her doubts, her confidence. I would fight for this queen. I also love that she didn’t allow others (including Rauk) to make decisions for her. She always tried to make the best decisions with the knowledge she had. She made some wrong choices, but don’t we all?

I loved Rauk! The man has walked through difficult times and is just trying to keep his loved ones safe. Although he came off really harsh in the beginning, I was here for him the whole time! By the end, I was screaming for him. He is such a good match to Harper. He may look tough on the outside, but the boy has a gooey center- which is so good for our tough girlie.

I enjoyed the action and pacing in this book too! I have to admit that I loved Harper and Red’s relationship the most (in comparison to the first two books in the series). I felt like they just understood each other so well. Their conversations were top tier.

I loved Harper’s realization about love too! The way it just dawned on her…SO GOOD! I wish I had more to read!

I had the opportunity to read Spirit Wars as an ARC reader, and overall it was a nice conclusion to the series.

Harper and Rauk’s story flowed well, and I enjoyed seeing more of Harper’s character, especially how she hides her emotions despite feeling everything so deeply.

However, compared to the earlier books, this one felt less action-packed. Their relationship felt quite rushed toward the end. It was like they didn’t fully connect for most of the book, and then suddenly everything came together very quickly.

That said, it was still a sweet ending to the series, and I’m glad we got to see how everything wrapped up. While I personally enjoyed the action and relationship development in the first two books a bit more, this was still a solid and satisfying close overall.

Well… (spoilers mentioned)

I was kinda disappointed by how Rauk and Harper hardly interacted for almost half the book to see their love grow more and it felt rushed at the end because it was a small time jump. The issues with the Dragon Kingdom seem out aside and how it’s not related to guivre war was a disappointment. I wanted to see Wolf and Jaguar Kingdoms to go and help the dragons as like redemption for not helping before.

BUT, overall, it was a pretty good book. I like AJ Manney’s books better than any author period. I liked the action and the other couples making appearances. I was surprised that Thorne wasn’t a bad guy secretly. Auri is cute. I like the name Elowen. Harper stayed strong no matter what and it was cooly to see Rauk and Harper bickering.

The concluding book to the trilogy. We finally get to see Harper’s HAE. She is so full of snark and anger to keep her heart guarded.
No language and the romance is clean.
When Rauk finally let her see his desire for her 🤭🫠😏 I so wish that we got to see more of them actually together. They’re probably my favorite couple once they actually get together, mostly because of Rauk and the personality that shines though when he actually lets down his walls.
She’s touch averse but he’s not, though he’s fully respectful of her. And I love her dragon. Just as sassy as her bonded lol
I was also glad to see some updates for Farrah and Kinsley.

There’s just about nothing better to me than a good series! I love the connections between friends and/or family so much. This story had both!! You get the friendships between the main characters and their close friends as well as some great family/care taker bonds.

Some things I absolutely loved:

• fated mates who don’t instantly click (the tension was perfect)
• two adorably grumpy main characters who are impossible to read
• those moments when Rauk’s protective, possessive side slipped through
• the way he took care of her (I still have heart eyes)

I highly recommend anything written by AJ Manney!

I received this book as an ARC and I’m so glad I did. I loved the first book in this series. The second was good, but this last one was *chef’s kiss* the perfect ending to the trilogy.

I enjoyed Harper and her journey. She became a much more interesting character than she was in the first books (she wasn’t bad, just felt very role filling rather than real). In this book we learn so much about her and hey, dragons. I’m glad it ended after three books. I can see a potential fourth book or spin off but the conclusion here was satisfying enough to not need one.

Harper is amazing Rauk is not

I needed another 50 pages in the dragon kingdom with her connecting with Trina and why certain things happened.

Rauk is too cruel for most of the book and there is not enough connection there at the end. Quite frankly I don’t like him.

That being said Harper is Amazing in every way and the people she helps and I like the conclusion to this arc and hope you write more in this world.

Harper is amazing, but no connection with Rauk - he never redeems himself in my eyes…

Great series though

Bravo

This is yet another masterpiece from my now, favorite author. I loved Farrar and Kind let's stories, but I have been looking forward to Harper's story and it did not disappoint. I laughed and cried and laughed some more. It was an incredible journey. In the first book, you not just experienced Far ranks story, but the development of this friendship that will last forever. You also see their struggles in the spirit trials. But the trials were just the beginning to each females journey. What they each overcome is magical and A.J. Manner is brilliant.

Each book in this series has been better then the last and this one was so good! Full of action but also new relationships, Harper's connections throughout this book are so fun to watch grow.

This is a clean romance but the tension is put perfect. I love that she's not into touch but he is. We also get to reconnect with the characters from the previous 2 books and see their relationships maturing.

This was a wonderful conclusion to the series and in only sad its over.

Great Series

Just finished this and I have enjoyed all 3 books. The women in these books are so different from each other and create a such a strong and amazing bond it just makes me happy. The men that love them run the gamut from a real pistol, a kind, sweet and strong man and one you just want to kick in the pants. If you want to read 3 great stories with well thought out characters that you get invested in these are the books to read!

Harper has been found by her Spirit animal and its a dragon. She has watched her 2 friends be claimed by their mates but hers has not come. What a rough road Harper and Rauk have to travel. The journey from enemies to friends is a long and tough one. However, he falls first and when he falls he falls hard. I love that the story includes info about her friends. What a great way to conclude this series.

Wonderful series!

If you love great characters, excitement, fascinating storylines and happy ever afters, you will surely enjoy this series.
Each book is a page turner.
I am just sorry this is the last book in the series, and I hop the author will revisit it again one day; maybe with the next generation.
That would be awesome!
I highly recommend the series, and hope it gets lots of good reviews.
Enjoy!

So happy I was able to receive this in advance! I was excited to read Harper’s story because she’s a little more closed off than her friends and I knew her stubborn nature would translate into her relationship with her Rauk. Loved how the book turned out and how it wrapped up Farah, Kingsley and Harper’s story!

Action, Heroine/Hero, Perfect Ending

I've loved this series all along, and this was the perfect book to close it out. Like a faulty light, Rauk and Harper are on and off, flickering, neither knowing the truth of their feelings. Lots of bad guys, harrowing fights and tight knit friendship with the 3 women of this series. I highly recommend.

great finale to a great series

I loved the two main characters in this book. This book is loaded with action, will they/won’t they get together, and your favorite characters from the first two make appearances. Overall it’s an exciting, clean romance, all the feels none of spice. Thank you A J Manney!

I'm not crying... you are!

Just wow! I devoured the first 2 books and then had to wait for the 3rd to come out but boy was it worth it. The story of Harper and her personal demons mingling with a tall, dark broody dragon king is just perfection. There are a lot of twists and turns along the way and some interesting surprises! Want more? Read the book. I highly recommend 👌

Great story

I really enjoyed all these books. Harper's story was so good, I loved to read Auri's and her relationship. I hoped there was more Rauk and Harper, loved them in the end. But I was so happy that Harper got her happy ending too.

Excellent Series: Romance (and Dragons!)

This series ranks as one of the best I’ve read lately, and I really love series. Manney artfully weaves fully-fleshed characters in a well-designed world. I can see why she wants to set more stories in the Three Kingdoms.
