There are run-of-the-mill psychopaths and then there’s the Collins’s.
When Grandma Collins returns from a mental institution, she finds her family in a state of disarray. Sure, they’re murdering people, but it’s just not being done right.
Under their grandmother’s watchful eye, the Collins clan are about to get even crazier.
Splatter by Angelique Jordonna, Rowland Bercy Jr., Michael R. Collins, and Christo Healy is a brutally fun ride. Four authors come together to tell one gory, chaotic story centered around the completely unhinged Collins family. From a grandma in a psych ward to cannibalistic family dinners and a vengeful ghost, this book never slows down. It’s wild, violent, and extremely entertaining. Just when you think you know where it’s going, it swerves hard. Unpredictable, grotesque, and fantastically disturbing!
"Splatter" is a four-part journey into the vile shenanigans of a cannibalistic and incestuous family of hillbillies, the Collins family. It's a self-contained, fun and messy story of completely unhinged family drama: there's a sex-addicted grandma just released from the psych ward, a mum who's killed her abusive husband and buried him in the walls, plus a psychopath daughter and three sadistic and pervert sons.
The premise is not at all unfamiliar, but what's original in this quartet of gore and depravity is where we end up in the finale: the four authors, Angelique Jordonna, Rowland Bercy Jr., Michael R. Collins (no relation, presumably), and Christo Healy (in that order) contribute a totally different story each, picking up where the previous one left off, and taking things into a new direction; the ending, therefore, is totally impossible to predict!
Indeed, whereas Jordonna's tale starts very dark and gets even darker, with the spotlight on the 19 year old daughter of the family, a psychopath who enjoys inviting women to her "Wonderland," Bercy's and Collins' stories go for something lighter in tone though no less repulsive in theme and subject-matter: the focus progressively widens to the whole family, their enemies and their victims, the tale turning more and more into supernatural horror comedy, till Healy's contribution, an action-heavy and hilarious story of carnage and the occult!
Strictly speaking, then, this is not just a family affair: on top of everything, there's a lustful old sheriff, a couple of queer ghosts, and even an FBI agent whose fate I found the most amusing of them all. Since not all characters are human (or even alive), one especially surprising (and chatty) member of the cast gets the chance to shine, and claim a much larger role than anyone expected! I hope we have the chance to see them again!
I knew I had to read this because it's four of my favorite authors in one book! And let me tell you, it was a crazy, bloody and at times humorous ride. These four sure know how to entertain their readers. I liked the format of the book. Four separate novellas by four different authors centering around one insane cannibalistic family, the Collins family.
Wonderland by Angelique Jordonna This story focuses on the sister Kyle. I love reading stories with female main characters that are just as unhinged as their male counterparts. Not all women are made of sugar and spice and everything nice. Kyle sure does give her brothers a run for the money with her bloodlust!
The Past Never Dies by Rowland Bercy Jr This one took me by surprise. An extreme ghost story that's a lot gory and just the right amount of humor. I've not read anything quite like this from Bercy before. I would almost put this in the bizarro subgenre. It's was bloody, raunchy and a little heartwarming when the ghost came out as gay.
Solo Mission by Michael R Collins Ahhh Jacob. What a sweetheart of a character he is! This is a tale of revenge in the most extreme way possible! The pickup scene was quite brutal. And I love how Jacob taunted Jimbo.
It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over by Chisto Healy Now this story had me falling in love with Remy the talking knife. Although I was hoping to get some background on where Remy came from, I'm kinda glad it's still a mystery. Remy is hilarious and sadistic.
Throughout the book I came across familiar names that made me giggle. And I love how each story is pretty much a continuation of the previous one. A great cohesive piece of work I'm very impressed!

It's almost always assured you'll get a fantastic end result when four talented authors collaborate to write a book and Splatter is no exception. It's a quirky, entertaining and gorefilled ride from start to finish.
The story centers around the deranged Collins family and their crazy cannibalistic ways. The family is crazy enough as it is but when Grandma is released from a mental institution, they go completely unhinged. Every member in the Collins family is twisted, from the sex addicted Grandma Collins, to the psychopathic daughter, to the three perverted sons not ot mention the mother who murdered her husband and buried him in the walls of the house.
Each author brings something new to the table and enhances the craziness that is already going on in the household. There are ghosts, an exorcism gone wrong, a very odd knife, strange lovers and an action heavy finale with a twist. Its nuts but its entertaining as heck and there are some very funny moments along the way. And for those who like gore, this one has it in spades too.
