You know I love a Dramione fanfic, and overall I enjoyed this one too. The characters in this were true to canon (which I love) and the story tried to pack in a lot of plot. Maybe too much? This was reasonably fast paced but maybe lacked some emotional depth / plot development, BUT I think that was mainly because this was a lot shorter than other fics we’ve read. Only about 400(ish) pages compared to the usual 1000+ish!

In this AU Voldemort has won the war. Harry is dead. The New Ministry rules magical Britain. Muggle-borns and half-bloods are oppressed. The Order has been all but diminished.

But Voldemort is dying. He split his sole into more horcruxes and as a result he is weakened. Lucius Malfoy wants to make a play to keep his family in power regardless of which side wins out. His only goal in life is the progression of the Malfoy family.

Lucius has a proposal for The Order… an alliance that will see both sides strengthen once Voldemort is dead… via, of course, a marriage of convenience between Draco and Hermione. Yessss please!

Draco is cold, emotionless and does all the bad things. So of course we love him 😏

Lucius was the real stand out to me though in this book. His character was written really well, I loved every time he made an appearance. All his little nuanced tells.

The ending did feel a bit rushed to me, and a little too fanciful maybe, but I still had a great time with this 🤗

It all wrapped up in a nice tidy HEA 🎀🤭

A Voldemort-wins AU set ten years after Harry's death. As a political maneuver Lucius Malfoy uses a marriage law to forge an alliance between Draco and Hermione.

“If you had known back then…”
“I would have killed myself,” said Draco matter-of-factly.

“He’ll love you in the way he knows,” she continued. “In the way they’ve taught him. With all the intensity of a Malfoy man.” Narcissa paused, seeming to consider her next words carefully, and then, she gave Hermione’s hands one last squeeze. “Please love him back,” she said.
She gave a tiny nod.

“Say it,” he begged.
She realized then that it was she who held the power. That this terrifying, violent man who the world feared now belonged to her.

a very fitting title indeed.

Eu li esta fic pelo Lucius, and for Lucius only. And let me tell you, I was not disappointed.

Fics de Guerra já conhecemos. Fics com forced marriage já conhecemos. Grumpy and Dead Inside Draco who goes feral for Hermione in like 5 minutes, já conhecemos.
AGORA, um Lucius que olha para a Hermione como uma filha emprestada e sorri de forma orgulhosa cada vez que ela fala, that’s rare! Mas NUNCA falha!!!

A Hermione e o Lucius cúmplices e bffs é das melhores mini tropes que há por aí.
O Draco bue ???? Wtf is happening? E eles a viverem a sua melhor vida e a criar planos. I love it!!

Solid Dramione Fanfic. Pretty surface level but got the job done!

3.5-4⭐️ lots of aspects of Dramione fics that I love in this one. Draco as the #1 Death Eater? Check. Hermione living in the Manor? Check. Wartime/high Stakes? Check.
The end definitely felt rushed, but it was very creative and I had a hard time putting it down to do normal life, so that’s always a good sign.
Marriage law was a fun addition that I haven’t read prior.
Induction ceremony scene was a big surprise in this one.
The new way that the deathly hallows was brought in was very creative.
