Excellent start to a series with high potential. Promising debut from a new author.
A story about a woman’s journey to find her identity after a troubled relationship and motherhood. Other elements come into play when a mysterious man enters the picture - can’t say too much without massive spoilers but the FMCs life takes a very dramatic turn and she heads into exciting and new waters by the end of the book.
I really enjoyed this. Been wanting to read it ever since I followed the author on TikTok. Although this is another dark romancey type book it is different from others, and I think normal everyday women will relate with the main characters life in the beginning, well I certainly did. Left on a major cliffhanger and I really can’t wait to read the next instalment so learn to type quicker and give us what we need lol 🖤💜🖤 just kidding on that part xxx

Amazing read! Really got me out of my reading slump and instantly hooked! I can’t wait for the 2nd book! Author is relatable too and always posts spoilers on his TT Account 😉
I really enjoyed the book. I was promised dark desires and he definitely delivered. Loved the Sleep Token reference and found the fmc relatable. Congratulations on a great first book!
This debut novel had me hooked from the start! Kay, the relatable single mom, is exploring new things—unsure if she’s making the right choices, but drawn to the intense connection with the male lead (DC). Her curiosity and desire to experience what DC can offer add a layer of excitement and tension to their evolving relationship. The romance builds slowly but powerfully, with just the right amount of spice for both new and seasoned readers. The cliffhanger ending has me eagerly awaiting the next book to see where their story goes!
This book doesn’t rush you. It watches you From the opening chapters, there’s a slow, deliberate tension that builds through glances, silences, and choices rather than spectacle. The writing is confident and controlled, allowing the unease to settle naturally. Every interaction feels loaded, every decision weighted. Kay is written with remarkable honesty. She isn’t naïve or reckless she’s aware, curious, and painfully human. Her need to feel seen, to choose something that belongs solely to her, is what drives the story forward. That emotional realism makes even the darkest moments feel grounded rather than sensational. DC is one of the most compelling figures I’ve read in dark romance. He is restraint embodied observant, dangerous, and layered with something ancient beneath the surface. The story never overexplains him, which makes his presence even more powerful. You feel him long before you fully understand him. What impressed me most was the handling of control and consent. The book doesn’t simplify these themes or romanticize them blindly. Instead, it explores them through trust, intention, and consequence. The intimacy is intense, but it’s never empty it always pushes the story and characters forward. The final chapters are devastatingly beautiful. The hospital scenes are written with restraint and emotional precision, and the ending lands like a quiet thunderclap. The last words recontextualize the entire journey and leave the reader sitting in silence once the book is done. This is dark romance with substance unsettling, emotional, and deeply memorable. It doesn’t ask to be liked. It dares you to feel.
