Valley of Destiny

Cleo
I survived a crash landing, killer storms, and a valley full of suspicious aliens. I can handle anything. Except maybe the mate bond I never asked for. The lord of this hidden valley saved my life, gave me purpose fixing their broken tech, and somehow wormed his way past every defense I spent years building. But I’m nobody’s property. When rescue arrives, I’ll have to the stars I’ve always called home, or the Rezor, who makes me believe in destiny.

Rezor
The moment the human woman fell from the sky, I knew my carefully ordered world was over. Cleo is brilliant, stubborn, and utterly terrified of being caged. She fixes our ancient systems with clever hands and challenges every assumption I’ve ever held about leadership and love. I would give her anything, even her freedom. But the storms are intensifying, breaching defenses that have held for generations. My people need me to protect them and I need her. When her people arrives, I’ll have to let her go. Even if it destroys me.

I almost DNFed this book because I could not find any chemistry between Cleo and Rezor. What a bland romance?!? Even the smexy scenes were 😴.

The scene where he gives her the choice to leave or stay made me cry, but for him. I could see he really was invested in making it work. When she comes back to him, I was like nah girl it’s too wishy washy.

Good

This book tells the story of another of the crash survivours on the original Destran homeworld. This time it is Cleo, a human engineer, and her immediate attraction to the D’tran leader, Rezor, who is in charge of the valley where she and her coworkers end up after crash landing.
The valley isn’t in the habit of accepting outsiders into it, and Cleo needs to prove herself to them, even as her feelings for Rezor get stronger.

This story started out well, and I was enjoying it, right up until Cleo started annoying me and being stupid! Fortunately, her teammates and friends managed to talk sense into her, but it was very annoying. She does manage to improve things afterwards, thank goodness.
It’s an enjoyable tale otherwise, fast paced and filled with action and a few steamy scenes. If you’ve enjoyed the Destran series (either the original or this second series), then you will enjoy this one too, and if you’re a SFR lover, you should start with book one, but you will like this.

Valley of Destiny by Ella Blake continues the story of the human females investigating the Destra homeworld. The third pod holding 2 aliens and human female engineer Cleo are found by the valley people, who believe they fulfill an ancient prophecy. The trio help fix a few systems that fail due to sabotage. Then the storms wreaking havoc on the planet hit the valley. Soon after, though, the first two teams are able to switch off the towers causing the trouble. Soon after the valley people and the other two tribes meet, but Cleo's destined mate Rezor won't give them access to the trio. Of course Cleo is angry and wants out, to go back to her people. She does soon after but feels pulled to return to her mate and work together to unite all the tribes and improve the planet. Book 4 should be a good one.

Cleo and Rezor story. O.M.G.! Loved it from word one! Of the 3 friends...Maya, Zara and Cleo...I was iffy on Cleo but no, she is awesome! I loved pretty much everything about her. And Rezor! Oh my gosh, he is so sweet and strong. Cleo's pod crashes near Rezor's Valley. When she and her 2 companions are rescued a prophecy is revealed. The question is, are they good news or bad news for Rezor's people. What is a good leader to do when Cleo turns out to be his fated mate? I absolutely loved the journey to find out! Ella Blake writes the most wonderful characters! Her storylines and world building are crisp and clean. I never fail to get absorbed in the book. This one is no exception. I loved it beginning to end! Go! Read it! You'll see! 5 stars

Enjoyed Cleo and Rezor’s story!

This is book three and we find out what happened to the three missing from an escape pod. Cleo does the best she can to land the pod with all the storms and weird weather. The pod is destroyed but luckily Lord Rezor and his first team see the pod and go to help any survivors. They find Cleo, Baleck and Mierva and take them back to their lands to house and feed them. There is a few big issues: first Lord Rezor’s mating marks start to glow the moment that he comes in physical contact with Cleo and second the clan is not keen on accepting the sky people. This story chronicles their journey and adds to the overarching storyline. Read On!

I really enjoy these fairly short stories of human/alien fated mates. It’s gratifying to temporarily escape to where fictional characters are perfect for one another.

Rezor did mess up pretty badly at one point but can be forgiven due to insecurity and influence from an outside source. I can totally sympathize with Cleo’s reaction. I’m glad that she came around to understanding his motives and forgiving him.

Rezor suffers a huge sacrifice to allow Cleo to fulfill her dream. It about kills both of them until a compromise is reached. HEA guaranteed.

I really enjoyed the story, even though some scenes were quite heartbreaking. The main character's love story was quite a lesson for me as well. It made me reflect on my own life. The scenes of the reunion between friends and the MCs were definitely my favorites. I felt a mix of joy and heartbreak at the first reunion, and pure excitement at the second. Being Lord Rezor wasn't easy, but he handled it impressively.

Cleo is a brilliant engineer who fears the "cage" of a mate bond; Rezor struggles to be a leader and giving Cleo the freedom she craves. Watching Cleo navigate her desire to not feel controlled versus her growing love for Rezor and his people is heart-wrenching but well worth the satisfying ending.

Good read💔

Cleo and two Destrans crash landed in Lord Rezor's territory. This was an isolated community allowing no outsiders. Prophesy, betrayal, and especially fear! Enjoy💝
