The Silver Thread: The Untold Journey of the First Chinese American Woman to Earn Her Wings

Rate this book
From the rain-slicked streets of Oregon to the burning skies of Canton, Hazel chases a single, impossible to fly. When World War II erupts, she joins the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP), a band of pioneers ferrying lethal warbirds across a divided nation.

In the cockpit of a P-63 Kingcobra, Hazel finds her freedom. But on the ground, she faces a different kind of war—one of prejudice, segregation, and a country that demands her life but refuses her dignity.

The Silver Thread is the soaring, heartbreaking true story of a forgotten hero who stitched the earth to the sky with a wing and a prayer.

Another book read from this wonderful author! Livia Huntingdon-Jones has done it again with a wonderful story of WW2 and the life of another heroine. Please take the time to read her short stories. You'll be glad you did!
