Eternally Yours #3

Damned and Desperate

Rate this book
**Warning, this book contains scenes of dead people having sex, only really sexy dead people, not zombies or sparkly vampires. Rest assured, no body parts fell off during the making of these sex scenes, just bras and undies, and no fangs or hammers were used during foreplay.**

My afterlife has sunk to a new level of desperate, all because some badass demon banished my friends to the fourth dimension of the fiery pit.

When I signed up for this rescue mission, nobody told me about the bugs, hives, and sweltering heat. That I could handle. Add to that a sinfully sexy boyfriend with serious ex-fiancée issues, three temperamental giants, a psychotic demon dentist, and a really hungry soul-sucking dragon, and this trip to Hell has become the trip from Hell.

And I forgot to pack my sunscreen.

I received Damned and Desperate from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Again Tara has enlightened us with Heaven, Hell and Purgatory only this time with lots of Twists and turns. I did enjoy the 3rd and final?? book in this series. For me though, I enjoyed the 2nd book more. There were parts in this one I loved, but others I could take it or leave. I did however pick one of the twists and was pretty proud of myself!

I have given this book 5 Stars as the editing and grammar excellent and was great ending to this series. I love Tara and her writing and will follow her in all of her works, and if she decides to write a little more in this series, I will be here again waiting to see how our friends are fairing!!

I would give this 10 stars if only it would let me. This book is the best so far. Suspense, romance, comedy, and action all in one. It's hard to tear yourself away from this one. Ash and Aedan travel down to hell to save their friends. You would think nothing that happens in hell would be funny but time and time again I found myself having to hold the laughter in for fear of waking everyone in the house. Life threatening danger holds you to the edge of your seat while you eagerly read to find out what happens. The only problem with this book; it ended. I want more and can't wait for the next book.

I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Damned and Desperate is book 3 in the Eternally Yours series by Tara West. Ash and Aiden are on an adventure to sub-level 4 of hell to help rescue their friends. Unfortunately, they end up with a few tag-a-longs and nothing special besides God's good wishes. If it wasn't for the cheesecake, Mar probably wouldn't be on the expedition. Unfortunately, Ash had more than her fair share while Aiden was approached by Mar and her family.

Ash and Aiden face multiple foe in this installment. Crazy dragons, spiders and more inhabit this level and the group must overcome all of them, as well as their own demons to rescue their friends. We go on a funny, exciting adventure as we navigate the traps and horny water. That water is going to cause some major issues.

I enjoyed Damned and Desperate. The group goes through so many dangerous ups and downs ad they deal with their relationship turmoil. There are some really interesting revelations. The Aiden/Mar situation was a bit annoying, but I really liked how it turned out.

I'm still not a fan of Aiden's voice, but Hollie Jackson does well keeping the pace with the story and the characters. I do enjoy her narration of the series. This review was originally posted on Rantings of a Reading Addict

**This review may contain what could be considered as spoilers**

Good ending to a unique, fun series.

Lots of action, humor, and steamy moments. I love how the author rounds out each character's story by the end of the book. We're not left wondering what happened to any of them.

There were also a couple surprises revealed in this book as well as a few really creative villains.

One thing I did wish for: I wish both battles (one with Zahaka and one with Mother) would have been a bit longer with a bit more action. But, it's a really fun spin on what Heaven and Hell may be like.

Read the book and find out how things end up for Ash and her friends!

I think this book is probably the funniest of the three! You do get some drama( yay). Ash and Aedan go to the fourth level of hell looking for their friends, and end up brining some extra people with them. At some points you have nail biting moments and others just down right funny. Just try not to bust a gut when you get to a certain part! The smack talk and horny moments abound in this book and you can not help but love every word or at least I couldn't!

I’ve loved this series since stumbling upon it on Amazon a few months back. This series just has so many unique qualities to it that its hard to compare to anything else. West’s twisted and dare I say deliciously comical twist on Heaven, Hell, and all that lies between is excitingly marvelous. Tara as graciously sent me both of the last books before they were released and I’ll embarrassingly admit I’ve fangirled to the extreme knowing I received an ARC for this series. I think I would give the Twi-hards a run for their money. Enough about my crazy love for this series, well for now, and let’s dive into the story.

Ash and Aedan’s adventures throughout the levels of Heaven and Hell took a dark and twisted turn in Damned and Desirable. They’ve literally walked through Hell and back. Now they must return to land of fire, brimstone, and all scary creatures to retrieve friends that we left behind in the chaos. But, that task isn’t going to be simple because low and behold, Aedan’s long lost ex fiancé is tagging along with them. As a woman, we all know that Ash isn’t about to take that addition to their trip laying down. Her determination to bring back her friends only adds fuel to the brimstone fire with her. Ash is seriously in hell while in Hell. Oh, and with her fizzy out of control hair to boot and her soul on the line, what is a girl to do??

Damned and Desparate is by far my favorite of the three books. From its humble beginnings of Ash’s death by hair dryer, her fall from grace, and now living and somewhat breathing in hell, you’ve got the pieces for one great series. Ash’s character really connected with me on a personal level with her somewhat sick and twisted humor about her life on the other side. Sure, Heaven is ruled by eternal youth, happiness, and never ending supply of cheesecake that could tempt the devil himself. But, Hell is equally as interesting with its insatiable desire water along with a plethora of creatures. You’ll come for the unique story and action, but stay for the comedic timing and well developed characters. When I turned the final page of Damned and Desperate, I can’t help but feel as if Ash’s story has come to an end with the way it’s concluded. If so, its written in a way that West could bring Ash out to play again in the future. I honestly think that I will be facing literary withdraw symptoms if this indeed is the last book of the series. If you are reading this review and loving what I am saying, please please pleaseeeeeeeeeee pick this series. You won’t regret it!!!

another great book by Tara. love the story and the funny things that the group find themselves in. You get to find out where the loveable Jack came from and more about the women that are popping up in Ashley life and the great things she would like to do to them. you get some more of that handsome dragon and Sarge. And the fun times with good old boner. Must read all 3 books in this series and enjoy the fun that this group of friends and family get into. Would love me some heavenly water to go on a date with and if that goes good I would love to add a little water from hell to add to the fun. Lets hope Tara gives us some books about the Handsome dragon and Sarge and the trouble they can get into.

Tara is AHHHMAZING!! Absolutely love everyone of the characters she has come up with in this series. With each book she keeps outdoing her self and this book was defenetly the BEST. She is giving her readers a little bit of everything from the drama, romance, comedy, and even some action in this book. I think my family thought i was crazy at more than one point when I was laughing loudly out loud. And let me just say I would have killed a man (even though he was already dead) if he made me go to hell with his ex-wife and his ex-fiance!! Can not wait to see what Tara has up her sleeve next!

I have been waiting for this book for a long time and it took me a while to start this one.
I was hooked by the heroine...she didn't have a filter in her mind or mouth.
With this book, love was beyond cheesecake.
She made an happy choice and had her priorities.
The dog was unexpected, god was too.

DELICIOUSLY CUTE, FABULOUSLY FUNNY AND DIVINELY ENTERTAINING !!!
Title: Damned and Desperate
Series: Eternally Yours
Author: Tara West
Designation: Book Three of Series, Full Length Novel,
Reading Platform: Kindle Edition
My Rating: FIVE DIVINELY ENTERTAINING STARS*****
Heaven can't wait and neither can I.... to read more by Tara West! OH MY GLORY! What a divinely entertaining read! Damned and Desperate is the third release in the Eternally Yours Series by Tara West and she totally rocked my world - AGAIN! I loved it! Damned and Desperate is only the third book I've read by Tara West but I can say with utmost certainty, it won't be my last! West's unique style, vivid imagination and highly addictive prose hooked me right out of the gate. By the time I hit page three of the first book of the Series, Divine and Dateless, I knew I'd struck gold with Tara West and the Eternally Yours Series. I immediately raced back to Amazon to see if there were other books in the series. And JACKPOT - I discovered a total of four books already available in the series! And the icing on the cake.... they're all available under the Kindle Unlimited program. SWEET! Although, each book could probably be read as a standalone since the author does give ample backstory, I personally would recommend reading them in order. Each release features a different adventure with many of the same characters as well as a few new additions, but....there is an overall interconnected underlying storyarc that continues throughout the series. Each book does end with what I like to call a happy for now with the insinuation of please stay tuned, there's more to come. Personally, I hope Tara West continues to write these books FOREVER! As long as she writes them, I'll keep reading them! And yes, they're that good!

But I digress, let's talk about this book. Damned and Desperate is a well crafted, well edited, wonderfully imaginative, fast paced, full-length standalone supernatural tale filled to the brim with spellbinding fantasy, laugh-out-loud humor, outrageously hilarious characters, a wonderfully unique story arc and sweet, heavenly romance. No really - the romance takes place in heaven, or at least the part that doesn't happen in purgatory! What? Oh yes, this is quite the heavenly/hell read! And did I mention the steamy, dreamy sex??? Well, it has that as well! The story is exciting, original, humorous and brilliantly imaginative. The dialogue is smart, sassy, uproariously funny, well executed and flows effortlessly. But my favorite element is, without a doubt, the remarkable cast of fascinating, engaging and fabulously funny characters. They literally explode from the pages, grab your complete attention and capture your heart. The narrative is beautifully written with a first person perspective from the primary characters of the story. The main point of view is from our divinely beautiful heroine, paralegal Ashley MacLeod. Well, former paralegal since Ash is now deceased and newest member of the Supernatural Intervention Agency's Delta Squadron. Huh? What the heck? Yup, as a result of an unfortunate blow dryer accident, Ash is now one of the dearly departed and a newbie gifted ghoster in training! But it's a long story and definitely one you want to read, especially the part about Aedan O'Connor, the handsome, hunky Grim Reaper assigned to escort Ash to her brand new heavenly home. There are new characters added in each subsequent release along with more first person perspectives but the points of view are primarily from Ash and Aedan. You would think if Ash is rewarded with a trip to heaven, then everything would be perfect, right? Wrong! It seems there are screw-ups even inside the Pearly Gates and someone just made a biggie. Oops! Looks like Ash won't be staying in the Penthouse after all and she certainly won't be having the perfect afterlife as her Grim promised. What's a girl to do? Well, she could start by falling in love with her Grim after she's thrown out of her Penthouse and reassigned to purgatory. But if she's lucky, maybe her handsome new Grim lover will come rescue her when she's betrayed, led into a trap, kidnapped and held prisoner in hell! And just maybe.... she might meet and be rescued by her lover's twin brother Callum, a dragon demon who has been damned to a life in hell. Aedan has a brother??? Oh yes he does and he's quite the sexy character. There's just so much temptation in hell....especially after drinking the horny water. Yes, I said horny water! Oh goodness! Unfortunately, while aiding in Ash's escape, said twin brother, Callum, along with Sarge and a few other friends, as well as Aedan's evil ex-wife, Katherine, have been cast down to a lower and much worse level of hell, and now they need to be rescued! Holy Hades! But there's a psychotic old west demon dentist (think Doc Holiday), a huge soul sucking dragon and a big, scary, malevolent female spider with an army of baby spiders and a cult of priestesses throwing a demon wrench in the whole rescue plan! Oh no! And did I mention that Aedan's ex-fiancee, Marie Murphy, who as it turns out is Ash's Great Aunt and is also sister to Aedan's ex-wife, also insists on accompanying them on their rescue mission to hell. Oh my! Will Ash and Aedan be able to save Callum and their friends before it's too late??? No spoilers from me but I will say this.....Beautiful, snarky heroine-check! Devilishly handsome hero-check! Demons, demons and more demons-check! An army of nephilim-check! A miss goody two shoes ex-fiancee-check! An evil ex-wife from hell-check! Kidnapping, betrayal, a lot of heart-stopping danger along with a whole mess of delicious drama-check! A boatload of hilarious humor and outrageous hijinks-check! An outrageous cast of delightful characters and a loyal pet dog named Jack-check! Heated attraction, fiery passion, sweet romance and heavenly sex-you bet! That and a whole lot more! Stay tuned, I'm already halfway finished with Book Four, DEmonic and Deserted, and this series just gets better and better! I love it! Deliciously cute, fabulously funny and divinely entertaining!

When rating and reviewing a book, I always ask myself several questions. First, what did I love about this story? Pretty much everything! I adore anything paranormal or supernatural and love stories with comedy and romance but when I find a book that has it all, I'm in heaven! Sorry, I just couldn't resist the pun. Although this book contained 300 pages of outrageous humor and ooey-gooey heavenly goodness, it was a quick, easy to follow read. Once I started reading, I simply could not stop. I was glued to my Kindle with the hours passing seemingly as minutes. I loved it! Second, I ask if there was anything I didn't like? And truthfully, not a darn thing! Third, would I recommend this book? You bet and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain some exquisitely written sex scenes.....Swoon! Fourth, will I read this author again? Absolutely! Just as soon as she releases her next book! And finally, was I entertained? Good gracious, yes! Totally and completely entertained! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

Good read.

Irreverent, with really great laugh out loud moments. Ash and Aedan are back down into hell, with some additional help, to save their friends. As expected with a journey into hell, nothing goes as planned.

Demons, spiders, dragons, giants, centaurs and angels abound in this paranormal comedy.

Great book

Book 3 wraps up the storyline from books 1 & 2 and ends with a happy for now. The characters have learned a lot since book 1 and are slowly becoming better people. I enjoyed this book the most out of the series.

A creative, enjoyable read with a good mix of serious and funny.

2 1/2 - 3 stars. This storyline had great potential, but unfortunately, it's been drawn out to a 5 book series, & it's lost a lot of its colour & spontaneity. Nonetheless, it's still a good, humorous read with wonderful characters.

Ashley is still annoying but luckily her time in the basement is making her a better person (go figure that).
I'll be reading book 4 just to finish the series.
