After years of burning out, Rue thinks she’s finally pieced her life together again. Her grandmother’s plant shop gives her purpose—soil under her nails, green things thriving in her care, and peace she’s fought hard to earn.

But when dangerous men force her to hide contraband in her shipments from South America, that peace withers fast.

Then Kylo walks in—tattooed, quiet, claiming he just wants to start a plant collection. She doesn’t know he’s a biker sent to see if she’s part of the arms trade invading his club’s territory. Under the guise of friendship—that quickly becomes more—he helps her reclaim pieces of her life.

But when his betrayal is exposed and the danger closes in, Rue has to decide if she can trust the man who broke her heart to save her life.

Rue battled severe anxiety throughout her life, largely due to the unrealistic expectations set by her high-achieving parents. This pressure ultimately culminated in a breakdown during her college years.

Fortunately, with her grandmother's support, Rue began to rebuild her life. Working in her grandmother’s plant shop provided her with a sense of purpose and helped her regain stability. However, that tranquility quickly unraveled when she was coerced by dangerous individuals to conceal contraband in her shipments, threatening the fragile peace she had fought so hard to achieve.

Kylo enters Rue's plant shop, expressing a desire to start a plant collection. Rue is taken aback by his sexy appearance, complete with tattoos, and is unaware that he has been sent by his president, Huck, to investigate whether she is involved in the arms trade that threatens his club's territory.

Under the pretense of friendship, Kylo becomes a significant presence in Rue's life, helping her reclaim lost aspects of herself. What begins as a simple connection soon evolves into something deeper, as they navigate the complexities of trust and loyalty amidst the challenges they face.

I truly enjoyed many aspects of this book, particularly how Kylo supported Rue in managing her anxiety. The whole bucket list concept was delightful, and Rue's pampered dog added a charming touch. However, what stood out to me the most was the incredible patience displayed by the members of the Golden Glades Henchmen towards the seniors living across the street from the clubhouse.

Initially, I felt a bit apprehensive when some of the senior men began to show up at the clubhouse. But when those adorable elderly ladies started observing the Henchmen as they tackled simple tasks like mowing the lawn, the situation quickly turned hilarious. The interactions between the characters brought a lightheartedness that made the story even more enjoyable.

Can you believe my excitement when I learned there's going to be a new chapter in Texas...

I didn’t bother to read the blurb, I knew I’d like it no matter what the topic, situation, or new leading lady because…it’s Jessica and she’s a one click author for me.

That being said, you’ll still get a fully honest review from me, but I am giving this one a definite “would read again” level of stars.

Kylo is someone we’ve know for a hot minute since the beginning of the Golden Glades Chapter of the Henchmen MC (see book title and go read it if you haven’t: Huck) when he nearly died. Kinda fell in love with him then a little really, and have just patiently been waiting to see him find love. I think he was waiting patiently too. Thoughtful, kind, patient, and not some ridiculous master at a particular skill like Liam Neeson in Taken, he’s believable which is a huge deal in romance novels right? Sometimes you want to read about unattainable wealth or super ninja skilled men but really at the end of the day the ones you believe YOU could meet in real life and still be wonderful are where it’s at.

Rue for me, was someone I could relate to a little. Not the plant part, I’m still working on keeping one alive and living with expensive plastic plants so they don’t look fake - but the anxiety part. While mine is not debilitating, I can understand how if left unmanaged to grow and fester under such conditions it’s also believable. She was “flawed” but like so many struggling, she was lively, fun, sweet, and open.

Two people who feel like you could be friends with them in real life falling in love on page? Get me a cup of coffee and a blanket and it’s a date I’m ready for.

Side characters are like adding seasoning to your food, and Jessie is a master chef. Traeger, Doug, Ernest, Grandma and the book club especially! They were all such wonderful additions to this rag-tag family group the Henchmen have and as always leave us wanting more of each of them enough to vacation back to Florida for the next Golden Glades release.

Epilogue goddess JG, as always, you knocked it out of the park.

My favorite unicorn 🦄 author wrote a new book for me. 😍
Yes, she writes for me! 🤭😂
I mean, how else are you going to explain why I love all her books and think they're absolutely amazing? Exactly, because she writes them for me. 🙃😏😂

This book and the whole series are an amazing outlaw biker romance story.
It doesn't matter which of the hot bikers she writes about, I devour them all in one day.

Kylo is perfect in many areas of life, but most of all, he's perfect for a girl like Rue.
A girl with a painfully depressive past.
With Kylo, everything is possible for her.
He's the one who can bring her back to life.

If only there weren't a few things he's kept from her.
Ah, and she has a few secrets too, of course.
That she'd rather keep to herself, but 🤐

I love this exciting, action-packed, suspenseful story.
And there are so many amazing, hilarious secondary characters in this book, it's insane!

It's a must-read for all romance and outlaw biker romance fans.

I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Jessica Gadziala never disappoints, especially with her biker romances, and Kylo’s story was one I’d been waiting for since his first appearance in the Golden Glades series. I was excited to finally get his book, but I’ll admit I was frustrated right from the start. Kylo’s lies to Rue set the tone, and while I understood it began as a job, I really wish he had come clean once his feelings grew—definitely before sleeping with her and introducing her to the club. Rue deserved the full truth to make her own choices. I also wish Kylo had stood up to Huck about his feelings, so Rue’s first encounters with the club weren’t so rocky.

That said, outside of the deception, I loved the chemistry and banter between Kylo and Rue. Their dynamic was fun and engaging, and I just wanted more moments without the shadow of his lies. I also missed having an “I love you” scene—those words never appeared, and I felt their absence.

One thing Gadziala always nails is her extended epilogues. I love how she takes us years into the future, showing not only where the couple ends up but teasing future pairings. Honestly, all authors could learn from her approach—it’s such a satisfying way to close a book.

Rue’s grandmother, Claudia, was another highlight. She’s a total badass, and the little hints about her past left me wanting more. Fingers crossed we get a novella or at least more details in the next installment. As for Marco, I wanted him to suffer more for how awful he was, but I did appreciate the twist ending—it was clever without being overly gruesome.

Overall, while Kylo’s dishonesty kept me from fully loving this one, the chemistry, extended epilogue, and intriguing side characters made it a solid addition to the Golden Glades series.

Kylo blends danger, resilience, and unexpected tenderness. I cannot believe we are already on the 11th installment in the Golden Glades Henchmen MC series.

As usual the author gives us a interesting heroine. Rue started off interesting as she was the running a plant store which also provides it own made on site pots. Rue was someone that took a while for us to get know. She was a complex character that had a past with mental health issues who was trying to keep that under control while also dealing with bad situation at work. The best part was her grandma who she took over the plant store from. She lives in a retirement home and the woman and men that live there certainly provide a lot of laughs as well as their own surprises.

Even though Kylo had club business reasons for meeting Rue, it was his immediate sense that Rue had vulnerabilities which in turn pulled out his protective natures.

Kylo

Returning to Golden Glades was delightful. I especially enjoyed the senior housing built across from the clubhouse. It's a great opportunity for humor and the author does not disappoint. The grandmother was a fabulous character.

I appreciated the spotlight on the MFC’s anxiety and depression, and how the MCs supported her through it.

Teddy is always a great addition to the story, as is Eddie - care taking men are in short supply in RL. I thought this comment summed up a foundational fact that most men deny,

“At the end of the day, they are grown-ass men with access to any kind of therapy they might need to handle their shit.”

I've rarely encountered a MMC in therapy and they definitely could use some, especially with all the trauma they go through.

Loved this addition! Golden Glades is my favorite, second to the original NB crew. I love that we finally got to meet a bunch of residents from the retirement community across the street. Those little old ladies are badasses!

Wow – how does Jessica Gadziala dream up these amazing stories? As the Henchmen MC membership expands, each new addition has his own talents, skills and – apparently, eventually – soulmate. But first finding and then recognizing them is the issue, and Jessica Gadziala makes this process exhilarating, fascinating, and so, so satisfying.

Rue’s grandmother passed her thriving plant business on to Rue just when she needed it. Importing her exotic plants from faraway locations was interesting and surprisingly profitable, until an indiscriminately violent cartel forces her to work for them. Her fear and distrust of muscly men with vague job descriptions makes her slightly suspicious of the handsome Kylo who comes in to buy some plants for his new place.

Kylo’s assignment for the MC is to figure out how rival gunrunners horning in on the MC’s territory and using Rue’s shop as their conduit. How the two manage their instant mutual attraction and their conflicting “extracurricular” interests makes for thrilling reading!

Funny, steamy and forgiving

This book has everything you could ask for; a good story, steamy parts, lots of laughs, great characters and some drama to top it off.
Kylo likes his life with the club but does tend to get bored. He takes a recon job to go to a plant shop but little does he know who he will meet. Also, who knew how romantic this man could be!
Rue is a quiet person who suffers with anxiety. She keeps get circle small but works hard. When Kylo walks into get shop, things start to change for the better but of course she had a secret.
The character development was amazing! The older ladies were a great touch. I hope we hear about them again.

Kyle & Rue

Another great installment of this growing series! I love Rue & Kylo! The story is fun & sweet with a spicy component. We get fun neighbors, plants, an awesome dog, mental health rep, coffee, friendship, suspense... all great things! 😁

There were so many things I loved, but I don't want to retell the story or spoil anything. I'll just say that the conversations Rue had with Teddy & Traeger, and the way Kylo had a mind to & ways to help with Rue's anxiety were all some favorite scenes.

😍😍😍

I am a big fan of this author and the world she created. I loved Kylo and Rue, they were sweet. I love the bucket list and how willing he is to make it all happen for her. The best part is how the senior living group has infiltrated the club house. I can't wait for books about the Cider brothers.
As always, if it is a Henchmen book in any city or state, I will read it.

Every time I read a book in the Golden Glades / Henchmen series, I fall in love with another character.  Kylo is my new Henchmen favorite, of course until the next book in the series.  I really like Rue but her grandmother is an absolute hoot; I just love her.

Oh be still my heart i freaking LOVE TEDDY. JUSTICE FOR TEDDY!!! I WANT HIS BOOK DAMNIT!

I love Rue and Kylo!

Rue is just a sweet soul. A little fragile with a whole lot of love. It broke my heart to see her struggles but I also respected the heck out of her strength. She had a tiny circle but they loved her fiercely and let me tell you.. grams and her lady brigade are HILARIOUS and lethal. I had tears.

Kylo is a typical alpha who wants to protects, falls hard and fast for that right one and does not communicate therefore messes up. Oh man I was like PLEASE TAKE TO HER. He definitely made up for it though because he is pretty delicious.

They are just so sweet together. There is some uphill battles they had to navigate but it was worth it for them. The chemistry is everything. The connection super cute and honestly they just felt right. His protectiveness with her sweet made for a match im heaven. The side characters as always are spectacular.. special shout out to the perv grannies. I inspire to be them. And of course my TEDDY because I amd a die hard fan and truly want his HEA. He deserves it the most man.

Anywho... another fabulous read by Jessie with a little action and suspense. A delicious slowburn and spicy happenenings. Sweet moments and wtf times that will leave you frustrated. What's not to love.

Also if this reads weird its because I'm fighting for my life typing it out on my phone while my 9 month old precious bundle keeps trying to snatch said phone. She is feral bahaha

Kylo is the eleventh book in the Golden Glades Henchmen series by Jessica Gadziala. This is Kylo and Rue’s story.

Rue is great. She runs a plant business that was given to her by her grandmother. She has a few anxiety issues that she’s suffered all her life. Her parents didn’t seem like they were very supportive or helpful and I felt Rue had battled them mostly on her own. She’s strong and determined and a very likeable character.

Kylo is a good man. (Reminder, he was Siana’s [Alaric’s book] neighbor who was shot in that story). He’s one of the older Henchmen who’s realizing he’s ready to slow things down a little and not party as much anymore. Kylo volunteers when Huck needs someone to look into the plant business that they suspect is running guns. He never expected Rue to be the beautiful owner or for his feelings to become so strong so fast for her.

Their story is sweet and I loved how Kylo went out of his way to help with Rue’s bucket list. I understood Kylo’s struggle, and was glad Teddy stepped in and as always, we got a great HEA.

I liked Traeger, Rue’s employee/best friend as well as her grandmother Claudia and the other older ladies she’s friends with. They were a hoot and full of all sorts of surprises.

I’ve loved all the different Henchmen series and this book is another good one.

Jessica Gadziala's Kylo was a good time, and a sweet guy, and I really enjoyed the whole book!

Kylo is sent out by Huck to check out Rue to make sure that there rival gang isn't setting up shop on their turf to start selling weaponry from Rue's shop. What Kylo finds is a woman who is so deep in her own anxiety and depression that he believes there's no way she's the head of of the operation, and of course there's no way that she's helping to make decisions, so she must just have been sucked into Hucks rivals operation, and being given orders.

I felt bad as Kylo got deeper into his part of Huck's sting, and of course Kylo was just devastated! There are sweet parts though where Kylo sets up a whole day of pampering for Rue, but knowing what's coming next makes me angry with Kylo and just sad for Rue.

I absolutely ADORED Rue's Grandma, and the whole little crew of older folx at the Assisted Living Home. Listening to the little old ladies have so much fun at Dixon's expense was a RIOT, and the old men who showed up at the clubhouse and then were STUNNED by the presence of club girls was hilarious!

Rue's assistant, Traeger, is AMAZING, and really helps keep her going with coffee, and eventually the help of Teddy. I could just see him with long hair, working over his pottery wheel, so ingrained in his task - Traeger is an awesomely sexy name btw! He just sounds SO HOT!! I was glad he wasn't there for when all the bad stuff happened, and nothing bad ever happened to him. It's awesome when life works out like that.

Kylo and Rue's epilogue with the addition of Rue's Bassett Hound was just lovely and is a quick read that I really enjoyed, and is so HAWT in spots that I felt myself blushing!

I’ve tried reading this authors MC books sporadically throughout the years and every once in awhile I enjoy one. I think I get drawn back in by the covers which are always unique, which I appreciate. Then I remember how all her characters and dialogue are just way too quirky and jokey for me. Any book with a talking bird is an immediate red flag and this book has one. Too much talk about coffee, horny seniors and yeah, I’m tapping out. Dnf@35%.

It takes a skilled author to put together a book dealing with a sensitive subject, a plot endangering the FMC, and infuse both with humor. I LOVED this book. Even in parts where I worried for the characters humor was unexpectedly inserted. I want a Grammy for myself!

A very, very easy five-star read.

Just like the previous book, this is the Jessica Gadziala I know and love. In depth character building. Building love story and hot sexual tension. Great underlying threat and danger! Only criticisms are that the threat is taken care of too quickly and without explanation really. Plus, I don’t like the cover. Not appealing. Sloppy.
