Mike Salt has added another gripping book to the Linkville series, and honestly, I think this might be my favorite so far (though I probably say that every time).
The characters feel real and well-developed, the storyline is dark and layered, and the themes hit hard in all the right ways. What’s great is that you can read this one on its own, but if you’ve read the others, the way they connect makes the series even better.
Bottom line: this is a dark, intense ride that sticks with you. Whether you’re new to Linkville or already a fan, it’s definitely worth picking up.

So I was avoiding this book since it is the 5th book in a series and I had not read any of the other Linkville Horror Series, but after seeing people say that this can be read as a standalone I pulled the trigger and got it. It is a thick book and I was worried it would drag out as most of the monster books I've read usually do through the middle just being repetitive-there is none of that here. It is action packed and wheels off. The cover does NOT do this book justice at all.
Don and Ellan are that couple that found each other and fell in love quick and everyone loved them as a couple. Ellan has a past of living a hard life of partying and drugs, but when she gets married to Don and pregnant she swears off that lifestyle. Here was her chance to break the cycle and have a better life. She has it all; a man who truly loves her, their baby Noel and Don's normal friends. But the pregnancy was rough and she was so bored at home with her baby all day while Don worked so much overtime to make sure she could stay home. Eventually she reached out to her old friend and started back up on meth. Don was thinking she was just drinking, not thinking for a second she would get back into drugs.
There's a new drug called Blind, you hallucinate and get sucked into "another world", sounds intriguing and like a good time to Ellan her shitbag friends. Only they don't understand that once they smoke this Blind they have been marked and now they are seen by a supernatural being that just wants you to suffer. Each friend gets pulled into their own world and a game starts and you are hunted. There are rules to the game, one of them being if you can survive for 3 days you can live. Don gets wind of Ellan being in trouble and he will do anything to save her from this being.
And now I have to go buy the rest of Salt's Linkville Horror Series. I already own You're Not Supposed to Be Here I just hadn't gotten around to it, but now it's high on my list to read.

Blind by Mike Salt is a thrilling read that combines the grief of a failing marriage and drug addiction with a supernatural force that hunts for its prey using addiction as a vehicle. The characters this one are well developed, which is something that kept me flipping the pages. At first I wanted to throw my tablet when I read Ellan's character as she is such an unlikable character. Despite that, Don wants to save her when he realizes that she's in trouble.
I cheered for Don so much during the story as he seemed to be the kind of man who would risk anything to save his family despite Ellan hiding her drug addictions.
It's a classic story of why you shouldn't do drugs, but with a deadly consequence. You might just go 'blind' after reading this one. It's a dark, but thrilling tale with great characters, even the unlikable ones. Give it a read, just check your triggers before reading.

Blind is a stand alone installment of the Linkville series. It’s a new world of twisted fates and fresh characters, but still manages to intertwine with the rest of the series. If you’re familiar with the series, you’ll discover this book has an insane amount of Easter eggs. This is my favorite series so I highly recommend you check it out!

There’s a reason Mike Salt is one of my absolute favorite authors. He always has a way of tapping into my emotions unexpectedly. This book is no different. I felt so connected to this story on so many levels (my boyfriend is a recovering alcoholic). I can feel so much empathy with the husband, Don, because I have been there. So many nights I spent wondering what he was doing and who he was with. You get the point. Even though he put me through hell, I love him with all my heart, and like Don, I would go through hell and back just to try to save him. This story had so many twists and turns and grabs at your heart so much that you never want to put it down. It touches so many different human elements including drug addiction, suicide, parenting, etc. and is very relatable. And horrifying!

Blind might be my favorite Mike Salt book yet. It’s a story about a marriage falling apart under the weight of addiction, mixed with a supernatural entity hunting its victims the same way an addict chases their next fix.
What really worked for me was the characters. Some I didn’t care about at first ended up being the ones I rooted for most by the end. And Don? You can’t help but want things to work out for him.
The horror is great, but it’s the grief, addiction, guilt, and friendships throughout the story that really stay with you long after you finish

Very excited to see that my favorite series got a new book, and Blind is a terrific addition. As always, Mike’s characters are richly written, and their character flaws and poor decisions make for great and adventurous reading. You know no Salt novel is complete without some truly messed up individuals and this is no exception. Felt like to me, one of those books where you speed up because you can’t wait to see how it ends. Well done! Looking forward to the next.

I reveled in the creativity and originality of this read, with some truly powerful imagery on the horrors of addiction and its far-reaching impact on loved ones. KB's character arc was particularly moving. Watching his growth over the course of the story was one of my favorite parts.
I'm on the fence about whether I'd recommend starting the series with this installment, especially since I haven't read the other books (yet!). The limited explanation of the sinister entity and some of the supernatural elements (without giving away any spoilers) left me wondering whether an earlier novel provides more depth and backstory, or if it's something readers gradually piece together as the series unfolds? To be discovered!

I’ve learned that when it comes to Mike Salt books, prepare to have your mind scrambled. His books tend to be twisty mindf*cks and Blind is no exception.
It took me a bit to get the hang of bouncing between the characters and all of them straightened out in my head. I found myself skimming back over what I’d already read to remind myself whose pov it was. Once I got it down, it was smooth sailing. This was really just a skill issue on my part rather than reflecting on his writing 😅
I kept thinking I was reading a dream sequence from characters before realizing they were actually in a hellscape of a situation.
The way the character’s storylines, and the story in general, was great! Mike intertwined the happenings of multiple characters in various places and predicaments in such an amazing way!
Mike Salt is an autobuy author for me and Blind is a perfect example as to why.
