Ragefluencers

Rate this book

Full disclosure: I received a free Kindle copy of this book in a Goodreads giveaway in return for an unbiased review.

This book styles itself as a satire of influencer culture. I am not familiar enough with that culture to say whether it succeeds as satire, but it’s certainly a parody of the action/thriller genre with an influencer flavor. I personally feel it would have resonated better with a lighter touch, and more development of the ‘before’ part of the story. It’s a novella which might do better as a novel.

Honestly, I don’t have a picture of what Madison and Blake thought the world was like before their disillusionment, or even what Madison’s ‘perfect’ manicure or wild fashion looked like.

Enjoyable as far as it goes, but it could have gone further.

exciting techno satire

The satire of modern and future content creation combined with the internet of everything on steroids. Fast paced.
The plot was a little ragged and character development was shallow. But the world constructed was perfect for this cutting satire.
