Love and Let Fly: A steamy friends-to-lovers romance with high-flying stakes

Rate this book
Can these lifelong friends risk everything for a love that could change their course forever?

Flying’s in her blood, but Miranda Hawthorne feels grounded. A former commercial pilot turned family fixer, she’s the one who keeps the Hawthorne flight school running—but never gets to chase her own dreams. Her heart’s set on her best friend, Jaden Stein, but every time she hints she wants more, he pulls back, insisting the timing isn’t right. When a dream job offer lands halfway across the country, Miranda’s torn between duty, desire, and the chance to finally soar.

Jaden has spent most of his life on the Hawthorne family compound, half family and half outsider. With his mother managing the estate and his sights set on NASA, he’s close to proving himself once and for all. The only thing left unfinished is confessing his feelings to Miranda…until she announces she’s leaving.

With family expectations and personal ambitions pulling them in opposite directions, can Miranda and Jaden find the courage to risk it all for love, and take flight together?

Kelly Cain is a native Northern Californian but has spent the last couple of decades in Texas, currently residing in the live music capital of the world, Austin. Consequently, most of her books are set somewhere between those two locations.

Kelly writes multicultural romance with determined women directing their own fates, and the swoon-worthy men who adore them. She loves reading most genres but please don’t ask her to pick just one. However, she can pick her favorite book boyfriend – Will Herondale.

When she isn’t reading or writing, Kelly is most likely using a genealogy site to research her extended family, both old and new. Or cooking/baking something delightful.

She has two adult daughters, and a new granddaughter.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book, given to me by Tule Publishing via BookFunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
3.5 stars.
A sweet friends-to-lovers story where both have been longing more or less openly for each other, “Love and Let Fly”, by Kelly Cain, features two strong, caring and very genuine people.
I loved the leads, Jaden and Miranda, and their close connection: they have been been friends and confidants since childhood (Jaden is Miranda’s “happy place”) and the affection and love between them runs deep.
I liked how sweet and honest they are with each other about their feelings.
Jaden wants perfection before he admits his feelings. The fear of rejection is ingrained and he will face some obstacles until the HEA.
The leads’ families and the interactions are interesting, too. I loved that the romance was accepted so naturally.
I appreciated how themes of misogyny and sexism in the workplace were handled and liked that justice was made.
I liked how the conflicting options were solved and all worked well in the end.

Love and Let Fly Book 3 of Texas Hawthorne Legacy by Kelly Cain
Like this book because each chapter is from a different viewpoint of the characters in the story.
We get to hear Miranda's side and her job at the family flight arena. We get to hear from her brother Dominick and also her best friend Jared. He's got plans to head to NASA after he gets his credentials. Miranda is burnt out and wants to take up the offer on west coast, they are all in TX, for a job at the new startup. There is one issue with one that sits on the board of directors. Just when you think things are going great for them to start their own lives together Jared's mother has a long term diagnosis and he doesn't want to leave the area....
So many options, so many decisions... Adult situations.
Received this review copy from Tule Publishing via BookSprout and this is my honest opinion.

Love and Let Flyby Kelly Cain has one of my favorite tropes of friends to more. The third book in the Texas Hawthorne Legacy Series with Miranda Hawthorne getting her HEA. Her best friend, Jaden Stein, never seems to get her hints so she decides it is time to chase her own dreams. When you have waited long enough it is time to move on and so I agree with her. Of course, this stirs things up for Miranda and Jaden. There are normal conflicts, workplace problems but I like the fact that they are solved correctly without a lot of drama. A marvelous story of business, family, friendship and romance.

Great addition to this series. Miranda and Jaden's have been friends for a long time. Every time she even hints at wanting more then friendship Jaden say the timing isn't right. When Jaden finally decides to make his move he might be too late. This is a great story. From the moment I picked it up I was hooked. I read it in one sitting. I loved the characters and the story line was incredible. Highly recommend. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

"Needing someone doesn't mean losing yourself" - no truer words were ever spoken and yet a difficult lesson to learn for some. Jaden and Miranda have been best friends since childhood and have been hesitant to take their relationship further. Their journey show that true growth means letting go. A really good book !!!

This is the third book in the series. I would suggest reading the other two before this one; it would help to have that background.

This book deals with some heavy themes. I do like the loyalty of the characters, though.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
