Elsie Montgomery was wandering outside her home in England when she was kidnapped by bandits and brought to the Highlands in Scotland to be sold. Laird Halvard MacLeod while on patrol with his men heard her scream and went to investigate. Upon arriving they saw Elsie trying to escape from the brigands and stepped in to free her but according to laws he couldn’t help her unless she was his wife or betrothed so he asked her then if she would marry him so he could help her and she said yes. Little did they know then how far they would have to go with the ruse!! This is a very entertaining story with an excellent plot and characters and one you won’t want to miss!!

January 24, 2026Not so much savage , as just needing tamed. Halvard and Elsie's storyline starts with a white lie, which by its nature means that they have to appear closer than they are..(at least at first) Both without knowing begin to harbor feelings for the other... But an enemy in the form of an English Lord brings danger to both... Kenna wove this story so well, you almost feel a part of the story ....

Great adventure
This adventure was incredibly exciting and interesting. The characters were amazing and very brave! The English man was very vindictive. He just reached too far. Thanks for sharing your amazing story!!!

Learning about highlanders
Elsie doesn't take any guff from the highlander who saved her. Laird Halvand has to deal with the mess that came after rescuing her. The battle is on and the story is well written. A must read.
