"Kingdoms of Moon and Mist" is a spellbinding conclusion to the "Tales of Erobod" duology. I was thrilled to rejoin Prudence on her journey as she evolves into a formidable moon and light caster, watching her powers, and her confidence, blossom with every page.
The enduring bond between Prudence and Daegal serves as the story's beating heart, the thread that weaves this intricate tale together. Their connection proves vital on multiple fronts: without Prue's daring rescue, Daegal would have perished in King Sol's dungeons; and without that perilous confrontation with Sol, Prue might never have unlocked the extraordinary powers that ultimately lead to the king's downfall. Their relationship isn't just romantic, it's transformative.
This book truly has everything: steadfast companionship, tender friendship, simmering romance, edge-of-your-seat danger, shadowy intrigue, the warmth of found family, heartbreaking betrayal, stunning revelations, and so much more. The pacing is masterful, balancing quiet character moments with heart-pounding action.
This is a duology I know I'll revisit many times in the years to come, a richly crafted world with characters who linger in your thoughts long after the final page.

This was such a fantastic conclusion to the Tales of Erobred! I absolutely devoured this book. Scarlett Larson has an incredible way of drawing you straight into to the story and dropping you directly into the plot with her excellent world-building and visceral imagery.
There were so many questions answered in this second installment that were left unanswered in the first book.
I am absolutely swooning over Dae and his love and worship of Prue. And I love the fierce, loyal, baddie Prue. I also really loved getting to know some of the side characters a bit better too. Felix is so wonderful. Truly the bestie we all need in our lives.
The themes of power imbalance and social hierarchy were explored in a really meaningful and powerful way. I appreciate the parallels between the politics explored in these books and the world we currently live in. Everything was spot on and approached so well.
There was some language repetition in this book that left me feeling a little bit like, "we heard this already" but the overall messages and plot twists of the book were enough to override that and keep me fully engaged.
Speaking of plot twists, what the actual?! The main plot twist in this book was insane and I could whole heartedly feel the betrayal and emotional damage of the characters.
Overall this was such a great duology and I definitely want to read it again in the future.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

This is book 2 in the series and I am so excited to have received a free early copy from the author. I absolutely loved book 1 and have been eagerly awaiting this one. I loved this one so much, that I did pre-order a paperback copy as well.

It picks up shortly after where Wars of Suns and Shadows ended and Prue is still Prue. She continues to grow as a character. Her sister Lili is still a bada**. I was so mad on their behalf in the Unexplored Lands.

I was happy to see Felix and that he's healing. I was happy he was reunited with some of his family, but it was bittersweet and I felt badly for him.

I still didn’t trust Verena at the start of this book and my gut was correct. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Tropes:
🌙 Found family
☀️ Dual POV
🌙 Yearning
☀️ Political intrigue
🌙 Corrupt rulers
☀️ Dangerous quests/trials
🌙 She saves him

This has been one of my most highly anticipated reads since last year when I read book one and it was everything I hoped for. Prudence and Daegal being separated initially by Elio Boaz and King Sol was a super tense situation. Prue’s determination to find and save Dae was amazing and I loved seeing the way the mooncasters were able to harness their powers more effectively after the curse was broken. Verena and Otieno were just as ev¡| as in book one but thankfully they’re more tangential characters than having the main focus on them. King Sol was an extremely interesting character and his motivations for casting the curse in the first place were a little misguided but made for an amazing story. There’s some information about Felix that really surprised me and an even bigger surprise waiting tied into it and I was just straight up gobsmacked. Dae and Prue were so amazing and I loved the romance aspect of the story involving them and it just showed how devoted they were to each other. I loved the battle scenes in this and the “trial” scenes were really amazing. This was an incredible read and I definitely recommend it for fantasy romance lovers.

This book from start to end will keep you hooked. This book truly was an amazing read. This book has every element that I love within a book! This book has banter, twists you didn’t see coming, adventure, betrayal, a rebellion, over throwing people in power, my heart strings being pulled, and so much more.

This book is very well written with so many characters that you will love and some you’ll hate. This book will show you that it takes one person to take a stand and be the change.

Just a very powerful read.

This book picks up right after the cliff hanger in book one and wow I was not ready. The experiences both Dae and Pru have from the start had me a bit stressed. But in the end my worries were soothed. I really appreciated the pace of this book and the action that takes place. While there are some spicy(closed door) moments the focus is truly on the plot which I truly enjoyed. This one had few surprises I did not expect!

Very happy with the ending of this series, happy ending and satisfying. Though I did want a big more suffering for (slight spoiler) V and O. The middle felt dragged out a little which left not much time for that revenge I wanted, but maybe Prue's punishment for them is better for Erobred.

The last line was absolute perfection. My favorite line.

(Was given an eARC. Review is my own.)

ARC received from the author ❤️

Kingdoms of Moon and Mist | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sometimes sequels aren't as good as the first book, but this one is even better! It picks up right away and the pacing of the story is perfect, it kept me on edge because things got complicated. 👀
The relationship between Prue and Dae is truly beautiful, the pure loyalty and mutual protection is *chef's kiss* 💋
If you read the first book then I don't even need to explain myself, but if you haven't, here are the tropes:

● Found family
● So much YEARNING
● Political intrigue
● She saves him?
● Quest/trials
● Dual POV

I slept on this, and I’m so mad at myself for it!

Book 1 was one of my favourite reads in 2025. The momentum was fabulous and the cliff jab free r left me wanting more - and I did myself a real disservice by not rereading book 1 immediately before book 2.

Jumping in right where book 1 ends off with a full cast of characters means the book starts off hard and fast, before shifting gears into a slower pace full of discovery again.
I do feel the pace shift lost something. I would have liked it to reflect the slower pace of book 1 more where we are meeting new characters and watching Pru and Dae discover more about their powers and newfound abilities. Watching them reunite and see their romance continue to thrive was special, but I feel more time could be spent exploring what is happening to Dae since the curse has been broken - that exploration felt like an afterthought, and though we know Pru learned more of her magic, so much was off page it was missed.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.75, because it was good, but I didn’t love it the way I wanted to. I think dragging my feet on reading impacted that too.
