Rebecca Sharp always loved a good love story. Let's face it, when you include a romance novel on your 8th grade summer reading list just to see if the teacher would notice (she didn't!), she was bound to give writing one of her own a go. There's really no corner of romance that she doesn't (or wouldn't) enjoy writing, except maybe aliens, much to her husband's dismay, so her large catalog features a little something for everyone. However, her love of shows like NCIS and Criminal Minds makes her favorite stories to write the ones with some kind of suspense and crime solving.

When she's not writing, she's at her office treating patients, and somewhere between those two things, you'll find her wandering the globe with her husband always searching for their next adventure.

This is a Fake Dating Romantic Suspense, and this is the first book in the Off The Grid series. This book pulled me into the story, and it kept me wanting to keep reading. This book is filled with a lot of action, suspense, and drama. The romance was a slow burn romance that became hot and heavy once it got going. I really love the ending of this book. I really enjoyed all the drama and suspense in this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

The rating is for the main plot. It was the only thing I semi-enjoyed and kept me from DNFing. There was ZERO depth to the romance portion of this book. They lusted after each other in college, meet again after 12 years and lusted after each other again until suddenly they are in love. No connection was actually portrayed.

There was also so much repetition: the overuse of so many anatomy terms, constantly mentioning it had been “a dozen years”, referring to each other as “my sister’s ex-boyfriend” or “my ex’s little sister”.

I, personally, just couldn’t connect with it.

ARC Review 📖

I had a really fun time with this one.

Lara and Calder had me invested from the start, and I loved the mix of romantic suspense, survival elements, and emotional tension. The search for Lara’s sister created a constant sense of urgency, while the fake dating and years of unspoken feelings gave the romance plenty of heart.

What I enjoyed most was how well the mystery and romance worked together without either overshadowing the other. Calder’s protective nature made him impossible not to love, while Lara’s determination and vulnerability made her easy to root for. The Stone family completely stole my attention too, and I’m already looking forward to reading more about them. There were a couple of twists I saw coming, and the middle slowed down a little, but the story quickly found its footing again.

By the end, I was completely invested in this family and excited to see where the series goes next. The ending wrapped up this story really well while leaving me excited for what's ahead.

I'll be keeping an eye out for the next book.

ALC Review (Audiobook) 🎧

Listening to this story was such an enjoyable experience. Lara and Calder’s slow burn romance unfolded alongside a tense search for Lara’s missing sister, and I loved how the suspense stayed front and centre while their feelings quietly grew in the background. The middle slowed down a little for me, but once the story picked up again I was completely invested in both the mystery and the emotional journey. Kit Swann did a fantastic job bringing Lara’s determination and vulnerability to life, while Jack DuPont gave Calder a steady, heartfelt performance that really suited his protective nature, even if I personally imagined him with a slightly rougher voice. The chemistry, the family dynamics, the cult mystery, and the emotional depth all came together to create a really engaging listen, and I finished it excited to spend more time with the Stone family.

I found this audiobook interesting from the perspective of a suspense romance novel. And it was going along very well for about the first half. And then around the middle mark, it starts to feel like our female main character is overly dramatic about just about everything and the lusting between the two characters continues to prolong the story rather than propel it. And it just started to lag and feel like it would never progress to a place that really was suspenseful without the audiobook narrators creating this heightened suspense through their inflections and tone and the noises that they made regarding their feelings for one another there was a lot of over exaggeration within the story narration. And I’ve just grown tired of it so while I was mostly finished, my review is of the fact that I grew tired of the story and even just started to dislike it. So all this to say that I think the narrator’s voices were great until they weren’t.

Medical terms are distracting and not romantic

With “Tracked” we start the new “Off the Grid” series by Dr Rebecca Sharp. I was really enjoying the world building, being introduced to or hearing about each of the now 6 adult kids raised to be survivalists by their parents, Callum & Annie. 5 brothers with the youngest being the lone sister. Great start to the book with Calder, the oldest brother, and Colby, the sister, rock climbing. We start to get a feel for this family we’ll be meeting through the series.

This story is about Calder and Lara, who is the younger sister of his ex, Rachel from college. Lara goes to him for help in finding her missing sister Rachel. (Calder and brothers have a business where they find/retrieve lost people.) We discover Lara had a crush on him 12 years ago when they were in college. All was good until I hit page 19 where the love interest, Lara comes in and sees Calder for the 1st time in 12 years.

***spoiler – a sentence directly from the book***
“Calder’s jaw clenched, and my breath snagged, watching the flex of his masseter highlight the hard edge of his jawline and the pulse of his temporalis echo his frustration.”

Why are we having scientific muscle names thrown at us? This totally ripped me out of the story. Reading this on my Kindle I stopped and looked up the words. We eventually learn that Lara is an ER doctor and she’s basically having “flashbacks” to her anatomy class while she was crushing on Calder.

This becomes an annoying plot device throughout the book. The story is happening and then blam! More medical jargon. Totally stops the flow of the story. Is Dr Rebecca Sharp showing off her medical knowledge because she’s a dentist in real life? Needed a hook through the story? It didn’t work for me.

There were continuity issues too. Callum the dad. Before off-the-grid living was he in the Secret Service, page 14? Or was he FBI, page 164 when it was also mentioned that Annie, the mom was a biochemical engineer? If they worked together FBI would most likely be the better choice.

Lara’s car must’ve been parked at the diner from when they questioned Rachel’s boyfriend, Brandon, to the very end of the book. (Calder & Lara met at 8am at the diner on page 61, then rode together in Calder’s vehicle to question the boyfriend. Lara’s car is never seen again.) Rachel & Brandon were to be camping before she went missing. Brandon was driving his truck and camper. Then later Rachel’s car is parked in the lot for the retreat. Why would she have her car when she was in the truck & camper with Brandon?

I had issues reading this book. Too many scattered medical terms and similes kept pulling me out of it. I challenge the author to write a book with minimal use of similes. Their overuse also stops the story flow. The bones of the story were good but the presentation didn’t come together for me. I had to force myself to finish it.

Oh este libro, a ver, voy a empezar diciendo que me gusto, no mucho, pero me lo termine y eso ya es mucho decir pero como fan de este tipo de series tanto de televisión como literarias, me quedo a deber mucho.

Cuando lo empiezas lo primero que te encuentras es con que la protagonista quiere encontrar a su hermana y se una al MMC para ello, el cual termina siendo el ex de la hermana que según ella le rompió el corazón (a la hermana) hasta allí yo estaba: “bueno, vamos a ver de qué va” y bueno, siento que le dieron mucho peso a eso en vez de la historia entre los dos en sí.

La parte de “acción” del libro se vio opacada mucho por los mismos protagonistas que una vez que estuvieron juntos, no se podían soltar y hello???? estás atrás de un culto que tiene a tu hermana “atrapada” pero estas mas pendiente de hacerlo con el MMC que otra cosa, y ni hablar del MMC porque de plano, me callo regular, no bien, no mal, solo regular.

Me lo termine mas que todo porque quería ver como terminaba todo, quería ver si por lo menos me daban un buen final pero no.

Y siendo este el segundo libro de la autora que leo ya rectifique que sus libros no son para mi.

Oh, this book, let’s see. I’ll start by saying I liked it—not a lot, but I finished it, and that’s saying a lot. Still, as a fan of this kind of series, both on TV and in books, it left a lot to be desired.

When you start reading, the first thing you come across is that the main character wants to find her sister and joins the MMC to do so—which turns out to be her sister’s ex, who, according to her, broke her sister’s heart. Up to that point, I was thinking, “Well, let’s see where this goes”, but I feel like they put too much emphasis on that instead of the actual story between the two of them.

The “action” part of the book was overshadowed by the protagonists themselves—once they were together, they couldn’t tear themselves away from each other. Hello???? You’re on the trail of a cult that has your sister “trapped,” but you’re more focused on hooking up with the MMC than anything else. And don’t even get me started on the MMC, to be honest, he left me feeling meh. Not good, not bad, just meh.

I finished it mostly because I wanted to see how it all ended, I wanted to see if they’d at least give me a good ending but no.

And since this is the second book by this author that I’ve read, I’ve come to the conclusion that her books aren’t for me.

I’d like to thank NetGalley for the ARC of Rebecca Sharp’s Tracked, the first book of her new series, Off The Grid. I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review, and here it is!

This book follows Calder (our MMC, eldest brother, broody, search and rescue but unofficial), and Lara (our FMC, emergency room doctor with trauma and self doubt) as they pair up to search for Lara’s missing older sister (who happens to also be Calder’s ex from 12 years ago, awkward). As the pair begin the search for Rachel (Lara’s sister), it becomes pretty evident that there’s a local cult masquerading as a “wellness retreat”; enter the fake dating trope.

I found the start of the story to take a bit to get into, though once the plot started to develop there was a good chunk of action and (slightly predictable) twists, all leading to a satisfying conclusion. Throughout the way we also meet Calder’s other siblings, who I suspect the rest of the series will focus on cause there’s lots of curiosity Rebecca builds around these other characters. Additionally, some humour is sprinkled in through classic sibling rivalry, and a poor unsuspecting rescue pet duck who really just wanted to eat his Doritos in peace.

Ultimately it was a good story, with some elements of spice and definite yearning! While I don’t know if it’s one of the books I’d find myself re-reading, I do find myself looking forward to the next book of the series!

Tracked was such a good start to a new series, honestly hooked from the setup alone. Lara's sister goes missing out in the Wyoming wilderness and she has to turn to Calder for help, who happens to be her sister's ex and the guy she's been quietly into for like twelve years. That kind of messy, forbidden tension is exactly what I'm here for.

The pretend couple thing to infiltrate the retreat was such a fun device too, watching them try to keep their real feelings under wraps while literally posing as a couple was so much fun, especially because you can tell everyone around them can see right through it anyway. Calder's the classic controlled, rule-following survivalist type, so watching Lara be the one exception to all of that made him such a good love interest.

It's a slower burn for sure, but honestly that worked in its favor here, it made the moments where they finally give in hit that much harder. And I really liked that the suspense side of the story didn't feel tacked on, the whole cult/retreat mystery kept things tense and unpredictable right up until the end.

Only reason it's not a full 5 is I wanted a little more time with some of the side characters and family dynamics, felt like there was more story there that got a little rushed. But overall such an addictive mix of romance and suspense, and I'm already looking forward to book two in the Off the Grid series.

This book is Tracker vibes and I love that show and really enjoyed this book!

Calder and Lara have hidden feelings with a big hurdle in the way - her sister is his ex.

When Lara’s sister, Rachel, goes missing Lara turns to Calder to help find her.

Calder and Lara have a lingering tension from the start and I loved seeing them both attempt to deny the feelings. The teasing and slow burn was killing me but perfect for their story.

When they end up with a lead on Rachel, they find themselves fake dating to infiltrate a wilderness couples retreat…or is it?

They start uncovering a darker truth and must find a way to get Rachel out of there.


I did feel some parts in the beginning were a bit wordy and drug out, but I really enjoyed the suspense and twists in this story! The family set up of Calder has me intrigued for the next book!

Narrators were very good. This was a good audio to get lost in if looking for some steamy romantic suspense story with a mmc who not only is good at his job but now he's facing the chance to be too close with the woman he shouldn't be thinking of...

I loved the concept of this book because I do love the tv show and having the author throw in comparisons was fun. Lara and Calder have had this intense connection for years, one that they thought they could ignore the rest of their lives, but when circumstances bring Lara back to Calder’s world needing his help things can’t be ignored forever. The addition of the suspense, the cult aspect, the tension between these two and this book had me gripped. All the elements are there for a great suspenseful, romantic read. I LOVED it and can’t wait for the rest of the siblings story’s.

This story doesn’t just focus on the central journey of Lara and Calder; it also carefully sets the stage for what’s ahead, introducing a cast of characters that feel purposeful, layered, and clearly built with future books in mind.

Calder—Lara’s sister’s ex-boyfriend—turns out to be the one person who might be able to help her find her. As their paths cross again, we’re pulled into a suspenseful, cult mystery that steadily unravels. Beneath it all, there’s a strong emotional undercurrent driven by Calder’s quiet, deep longing, adding another layer of tension to an already gripping story.

With a hint of fake dating and a whole lot of slow-building chemistry, the romance adds just the right amount of heat without taking away from the intrigue. The plot feels rich and intentional, the side characters are intriguing, and the tension—both romantic and suspenseful—keeps you turning the pages.

Tracked strikes a really satisfying balance between mystery and romance, delivering a story that draws you in and leaves you genuinely excited for what’s next.

This is the first time I am reading a book by the author and I can say that this was a solid book for me. The story is very interesting because it is about a girl who tries to rescue her sister from a dangerous cult. For help, she turns to a person for whom she has always had some feelings and with whose help she learns things that she thought were different.
The topic of the book was very interesting, but I have to be honest and say that I found it a bit boring in some parts. All in all, I read it and it was ok.

I absolutely enjoyed TRACKED.

It's been a while since I've read and loved the fast paced romantic suspense books written by Dr Rebecca Sharp so when I spied TRACKED, book one in her new Off The Grid series, I knew I had to be all over it. I was only one chapter in and Ms Sharp's book gave me vibes surrounding a couple of my favourite TV programs; ‘The Finder’ and ‘The Tracker'. Seriously look them up, I highly recommend them as some pretty great viewing 👀👀

The Stone family were a complex bunch and through Calder's POV as the eldest, Ms Sharp did a great job of introducing his five siblings along with their individual foibles and typical specialities that they spent their time on. Sadly that also included overcoming the termination of their mother by masked men, injury, betrayal and even PTSD after serving time and being in the military. They were a diverse bunch and had coined nicknames for each other where Calder was ‘The Director', the one who'd kept an eye on their father's rules and made the others abide by them. Their parent’s background and circumstances leading to the family becoming survivalists was revealed in layers and the list of rules that Cassius, their father, taught the kids was a long one, with new ones popping up throughout the book. He also noted that they were not an especially close family considering their circumstances but I loved that each stepped up way beyond the call of duty as Calder called on them when necessary as he and Lara worked together in the search to find Lara's sister.

I have to admit to loving Calder even though his sense of honour was a bit over-the-top. Relationships and dating were not a priority and Stone Tracking Services, defined as Retrievalists, was keeping them busy. Having ER doctor Lara Crane showing up after 12 years was not on his bingo card especially as she was the much younger sister of his tumultuous ex-college girlfriend. While their dating window had been short, it had impacted both sisters and changed the dynamics of their sisterly relationship. Lara had nursed a secret crush on him at the tender age of 15 and had maintained a healthy fascination since then.

Lara herself was a character that I admired. She loved her job but carried a great weight on her shoulders. Her own upbringing with her sister had been under less than stellar circumstances and the more Lara realised how bad it had been, the greater the distance between her and her older sister who seemed to be taking after their mother, until communication all but stopped. I thought her great admiration of Calder's well-built musculature, carried out by individual name, stilted the story flow a bit, but actually fit Lara's personality as she was details orientated and this certainly helped her later in the book during a particularly quirky scene among others, that lightened the overall dynamics that the Stone family members were working out between themselves in this new phase in their lives.

I have to say that I loved every intense crackling moment that brought Calder and Lara closer over the course of the book and it was all put together in an action fuelled slow-burn that had so much happening and a lot of chemistry going on that when Calder and Lara finally came together in that hot-and-sexy moment, I didn't even realise that all of that spice had been missing, or even how far through the book I'd managed to get!

But the kissing, holy hells bells, their intense and passionate kisses were every thing I loved to read in a romance and it made the suspense element even better when Calder and Lara still managed to lose themselves in that sexy haze even as they're trying to figure themselves out of a dangerous situation!!!!

What I loved was that the family Patriarch, Cassius Stone seemed to realise that his actions in moving from Survivalist to Isolationist in his grief over the loss of his wife, while trying to bring up their six children had placed a burden on each of them while dealing with their own grief. He wanted to make amends but was at a loss in how to start and I admired his change in attitude and generosity while trying to help his now adult children.

TRACKED wasn't just a steamy romantic suspense read, it was almost a study in human behaviour!

I loved every action-packed moment that I spent with this book, and hit it in one sitting. Off The Grid is going to be a series I'll be wanting to follow, that's for sure!!! 5 stars and a highly recommended read from me! *💚°✮

This book is exactly the kind of book I’ve been looking for recently, one with depth and meaning. The story follows Calder and Lara as they try to find Lara’s sister, who is also Calder’s ex-girlfriend, Rachel. As soon as I read the dedication and it mentioned NCIS, Reacher, and Criminal Minds I instantly had high hopes because I love those shows, and it definitely did not disappoint. The first thing I loved is Cassius’ rules, giving that hint of Gibbs from NCIS. I thought the rules were a really beautiful touch, especially how they were used in each chapter. It gave a real insight into to how the Stone family lived/lives, what they live by, what they stand for, how they survive. The plot had me immediately hooked, and that still didn’t stop until the very end. The plot twist that happened after you thought nothing else more could happen?! That was amazing and I was genuinely shocked about that situation. I really enjoyed how the main point of the plot, finding Rachel, was never forgotten about. In my opinion, a lot of books can tend to stray, and sometimes stray too far, from the point. But this did not and it felt like action was constantly happening, like this was the root of the book. And then it grew branches and started to flower with all the emotions between Lara and Calder, meeting the Stone family who each have a powerful background of their own. I am hoping to read about more of their family because, enough though they were side characters, they never felt like that and their personalities were never less than the main characters. They each played their own individual role in the book at certain points, and those little details really made the book more loveable. One of my favourite scenes was of Colby and Lara, seeing how Colby was there for Lara when she needed it by distracting her with the most hilarious task was so fun to read! One last thing that stood out was the serious topic that was brought up which is a part of the story and I thought the awareness of it and how much manipulation can affect people, it was wrote really well and you could understand how the people who were under the influence of it felt.

There were an unbelievable amount of quotes I highlighted in this book. The writing was so beautiful. There was never a moment where I didn’t feel like I’m left needing more, or that it was too much. I absolutely loved the way she used the weather to amplify the description of their feelings and how tense the feelings they had are, how deep it was. Getting the chance to know Calder and Lara on a deeper level was what made me so connected to them and feel exactly what they were in that moment as they did and as the book went on you could easily attach yourself to them and see their story grow. I really liked that it didn’t just focus on Calder and Lara’s relationship, but also Calder and Cassius’ relationship and Lara and Rachel’s. By the end, you feel like you are healing with all of the characters.

I had such a fun time reading this book and I honestly can’t stop thinking about it, it was that good. I will definitely be picking up the second book, and any more that are to come! <3

Quick Synopsis:
Lara, an ER doc running on caffeine, anxiety and grit, decides to show up unexpectedly to her sister’s off grid survivalist ex-boyfriend (aka Calder aka Lara’s long-time “absolutely not, do not touch” crush) home in order obtain his help in finding her missing sister (aka Calder’s ex-girlfriend).

What worked for me:
The relationship between Lara and Caulder was written with chemistry I could feel burning off the pages. The first half of the book was a lot of will they followed by devastation when they didn’t and then when they did, I swear I had to get a fan to cool off.

The complex issues that Lara was dealing with surrounding her being an ER physician were so accurate and really built a wonderfully complex character that was fueled by so much determination, intelligence and feminine power that I was impressed by the writing.

Calder was a big hunk of a man, who had mildly extreme views of honor and responsibility. He was deeply flawed and even more self-isolated than his off the grid life demonstrated but if all men had his values and discipline, the world would be a much better place. Basically, I am in love. New book boyfriend.

What didn’t work for me:
Maybe they could have gotten to the spicy scenes sooner? The writing flow was so good though, so really the story unfolded how it was supposed to be and the chemistry with anticipation/uncertainty from both FMC and MMC had me frustrated it didn’t happen sooner.

Happily this was book 1 in the Off the Grid series, it appears there is a book 2 scheduled already. Let’s just say there are brothers probably more complex and deeper than Calder. I am stoked for this series, it is different then my normal reads.

Rebecca Sharp absolutely pulled me into this story from the very first chapter. This opening book in the “Off the Grid” series delivers a perfect mix of suspense, romance, emotional depth, and wilderness danger that kept me completely invested the entire time.

The story follows Lara Crane, an ER nurse who constantly sacrifices her own well-being for the people she loves. Whether it’s her patients or her younger sister, Lara always puts everyone else first, and that selflessness slowly begins taking a toll on her personal and professional life. When her sister suddenly disappears after attending a mysterious couples retreat hidden deep in the Wyoming wilderness, Lara panics and turns to the one person she believes can help—Calder Stone.

Calder, Lara’s longtime crush and her sister’s former boyfriend, is a skilled wilderness tracker who specializes in locating missing people. Living full-time in his Airstream and keeping himself emotionally guarded, Calder is the kind of rugged, dependable hero that instantly commands attention. He’s protective, capable, and quietly caring beneath his rough exterior.

Together, Lara and Calder head into the remote retreat pretending to be a struggling couple in order to investigate what really happened. From the moment they arrive, the atmosphere feels unsettling and tense, and Rebecca Sharp does an incredible job building that uneasy feeling throughout the story. I genuinely never felt completely certain about where the plot was heading, and several twists completely caught me off guard.

The chemistry between Lara and Calder is intense right from the start. Their connection simmers beneath every conversation, every argument, and every dangerous situation they face together. Even though the romance develops gradually, the slow-burn tension works perfectly for the story and makes their emotional moments even more rewarding.

What I loved most was how balanced the book felt. The mystery was gripping, the romance was emotional and believable, and the characters had real struggles that made them feel authentic. Lara’s strength and vulnerability complemented Calder’s protective nature so well, and watching them navigate both the investigation and their growing feelings made the story impossible to put down.

Between the creepy retreat setting, the survival elements, the emotional baggage both characters carried, and the nonstop suspense, this book had me completely hooked. Rebecca Sharp created an exciting start to the series, and now I’m beyond ready to continue with the rest of the Stone siblings’ stories.

If you’ve followed my reviews for a while, you already know I’m a huge fan of Dr. Rebecca Sharp’s Reynolds Protective series, so the second I spotted Tracked on NetGalley, I requested it immediately and I’m so glad I did. This book delivers the same addictive blend of romance, suspense, and mystery that made me fall in love with her writing.

Laura’s sister has vanished after a camping trip in the Wyoming wilderness, and when the search stalls, she turns to the one man capable of finding her Calder, a professional tracker…who also happens to be her longtime college crush and her sister’s ex-boyfriend. Talk about messy. From there, the story becomes a suspense-filled search packed with twists, danger, and a slow-burning romance that’s been simmering for years.

One of my favorite things about Rebecca Sharp’s writing is how naturally she blends romantic suspense with emotional tension. The longing looks, the years of unresolved feelings, the quiet pining, and the slow-burn chemistry between Laura and Calder were some of my favorite parts of the book. The mystery kept me invested, and I loved following every clue as they searched for Laura’s sister.

My only reason for giving this four stars instead of five is the pacing. At around 12 hours, I think the audiobook was a little longer than it needed to be. The middle section roughly the 30% to 50% mark dragged a bit with some scenes that felt like filler. Once the story reached about 60%, though, everything kicked into high gear and I couldn’t stop listening.

The audiobook performances were also very enjoyable. Kit Swann was fantastic and really brought Laura to life. Jack DuPont delivered a solid performance as Calder, but personally, I pictured Calder with a much deeper, rougher, more rugged voice. It wasn’t that the narration was bad it simply didn’t match the character I had imagined. That’s entirely a personal preference, though, because his performance itself was well done.

Overall, Tracked is an engaging romantic suspense with a compelling mystery, excellent chemistry, and just enough spice to complement the story without overshadowing it. I’m already excited for what comes next because it looks like we’ll be following more members of Calder’s family, and I cannot wait to dive into the rest of the series.

Thoughts: I really like the concept for this new series following a family of survivalists. There’s a lot of mystery surrounding each member of the Stone family, especially the parents and what led them to choose an off-grid lifestyle while raising their children. I imagine that mystery will continue to be an ongoing storyline throughout the series.

Calder comes across as the stereotypical eldest child, taking on responsibilities that were never really his to carry. That part of his upbringing clearly shaped the man he became, and explains why he instinctively puts everyone else’s needs before his own. Lara is a great counterpart to Calder. They’re both compassionate people who carry a great deal of guilt, and tend to shoulder more than they should, often neglecting themselves in the process. Although they both fought their attraction, they eventually put themselves first for once and gave in. I think this will make them both happiest in the end.

The central storyline revolves around finding Lara’s missing sister, who also happens to be Calder’s college ex-girlfriend. While this is not my favorite trope, I think the amount of time passed, and how the sister treated Calder makes it not as off-putting for when he eventually gets together with Lara. I struggled with Lara’s sister as a character. While it’s clear she had been through a tough time, I didn’t feel that it fully justified the way she deceived and hurt the people who were closest to her. Her fear of disappointing others helped explain some of her choices, but it didn’t completely excuse them. It also didn’t help that Lara often enabled her behavior. That said, I was glad she was rescued, and I hope this marks the beginning of a healthier path for her.

One thing I’m hoping the series avoids is a romantic relationship between Calder’s father, Cassius, and Rachel. I thought there were a few moments that hinted in that direction, and personally, I’d much rather see Cassius remain a supportive, paternal figure for someone his son once cared about. A romance there would feel like one interconnected relationship too many within the same family. Overall, I’m looking forward to reading the next sibling’s story, which I believe will be Creed.

My first book by Rebecca Sharp, and I was impressed. Suspense, mystery, survival, and just the right amount of slow-burn romance... but when it finally ignited, it burned everything around it.

From the very first moment Lara and Calder meet again, the sparks are everywhere, reignited after more than ten years (even though they've never admitted it). He's attracted to her, his body reacts to her, and he becomes protective, jealous, and considerate... he'd do anything for her. He keeps her in the loop about almost everything. He hides some facts because he doesn't want to hurt her. He breaks all his rules for her. He promises to find her sister, and he keeps that promise. He's the kind of man every woman dreams of.

Lara is an ER doctor who feels guilty about her sister's disappearance. The only way to find Rachel is to ask the best tracker for help... and that tracker happens to be Rachel's ex-boyfriend and the only man Lara has ever loved. Together, they infiltrate a suspicious retreat by pretending to be a couple, believing Rachel is being held there.

I loved how Calder cared for Lara and protected her. I also loved how they slowly became each other's confidants, sharing their deepest fears, secrets, and desires before finally admitting their feelings. The first half was a bit slow-paced, but it picked up in the second half and became much more gripping.

I also loved the Stone family. The father, the brothers, and the sister were all interesting characters. Despite everything they'd been through, what they built together was admirable, and I can't wait to read their stories.

As for the suspense, wanting to know what would happen next and whether they'd be caught kept me glued to my Kindle. The wilderness setting, the vivid descriptions, and the disturbing things happening inside the retreat created a tense atmosphere throughout the story. I also liked that the suspense never overshadowed the romance, and the romance never took away from the mystery. The balance between the two was just right. And I really enjoyed those twists.

And I have to mention the dedication at the beginning. As a fan of NCIS, Reacher, Tracker and Criminal Minds, I knew I was in for a treat, and the book definitely delivered.

If you enjoy survivalist heroes, fake dating, slow-burn romance, family dynamics, and a mystery that keeps you turning the pages, this is definitely worth picking up. I'll definitely be back for the next Stone sibling's story.

CBS shows like Criminal Minds, NCIS, Fire Country, Blue Bloods, and Tracker do many things right, except for the one thing they always get wrong: the romance.

I know I’m not the only one who wants to see more of the intimate relationships in these high-stakes scenarios between my favourite characters. Dr Rebecca Sharp shares this sentiment and decided to fuck it and write the romances we’ve all been wanting on our screens.

Calder is a recluse; he stays off-grid and keeps his heart strictly off-limits. Well, that’s until Lara shows up—the woman he has wanted for so long. She says her sister is missing, and now he has to help her find her. Lara is a doctor and has a fine appreciation for the male body, coincidentally and especially the fine triceps and biceps of Calder Stone; she couldn’t help but stare at the man, even though back in college, he was her sister’s boyfriend. Now they must work together to track down her sister, and it starts with a retreat. The catch? There’s only one spot left—and it’s for couples.

Tracked by Dr Rebecca Sharp has done it again. I’ve read and loved several of Sharp’s books, and this one was no different. If you’re looking for an action-packed love story, then this is definitely the book for you. Sharp herself describes her books as “NCIS with more romance and steamy smut.” And if that doesn’t sell you, I don’t know what will.

The pace, the banter, and the sheer danger of the book were addictive—I just could not put it down. Calder and Lara are a match made in heaven. I loved the absolute trust and fire between these two characters. I could go on and on about the swoon-worthy man that Calder is, but I’ll refrain; he’s broody, protective, and has the best pair of gluteus maximus Lara has ever seen.

And if there’s one thing I know for certain, it’s that we’ll be seeing the whole gaggle of Stone brothers’ romances. Tracked is expected to hit shelves on July 28, 2026. Make sure to say hi to Lara and Calder for me!

The Stone family were raised as survivalists. Six siblings, five boys and 1 girl. Living in a remote location, their father instilled many rules on safety and security they all abided by. Calder, as the oldest, feels an obligation which led to rescuing his brother. After that, people started to contact him for help due to his abilities to track. And his business, Stone Tracking Services was created. Due to different reasons, all of his brothers have now joined him.

Surprised that a stranger approached their property, Calder is shocked to see Lara standing there. And if Lara is there, that means something is most definitely wrong. Lara announces that her sister Rachel is missing. The same Rachel that Calder used to date over a decade ago. Now the two must work together to find Rachel.

Well…I’m not quite sure how I would describe this. I’m a little taken back by the many similarities to other characters (TV or movies) and that was hard to get past. Next was Lara’s character in which I didn’t connect or care for. The constant hatred towards Calder got to be a bit much, especially referencing the same issue late into the book. It was really difficult to believe their chemistry when she wouldn’t let go of this one issue, that quite frankly she knew nothing about. And the constant naming of the body parts…ugh! I don’t like to hark on the less positive things but it continued throughout. All that being said, this wasn’t a bad book and if you like the romance suspense genre, give this a shot. There are parts that are entertaining and the Stone family seems intriguing so it will be interesting to see what each of their stories are.

Spicy Romantic Suspense

Overall good story and intriguing start to a series featuring the Stone Family.
First up is Calder, eldest sibling among a family of alphas which includes a sister. All of them loners in their own unique way, yet still a family.
Over the course of the book it becomes clear that he takes his apparently self-appointed role as quiet overseer of his siblings seriously.
He is clearly extremely good at his chosen work. Tracker\Retrievalist. He is used to doing things his way with little to no interference. He is calm, focused and executes everything with clear intention. He is emotionally reserved, as it seems with the majority of his family.

Lara is his ex college girlfriend's sister. Someone who made an unexpected impact on him all those years ago. And she has unresolved feelings for him. When her sister seems to have disappeared, she comes to find him to ask for help.

Both Calder and Lara have baggage they really don't want to share, but circumstances forced by a rash Lara put them together in an uncomfortable intimate situation.

I did struggle a bit with Laura's impulsive actions and how she ignored some of Calder's clear instructions meant to keep her safe. She knew he was the expert with an excellent reputation but chose to disregard his rules. As an ER Doctor, she should easily respect necessary protocols. But then how would the plot develop?

The forced proximity, as expected, did erode Calder's resolve to keep their attraction at bay. I did find his actions a bit aggressive at times after he gave in. There is plenty of open door spice.

There was a slow start to the book as each member of the Stone family was "introduced". There was some break in the pace as familial interactions and each person's basic history was explained\added.

I did enjoy the character growth and overall story arc. I also look forward to reading each of the Stone family's stories.

I recommend it for anyone who enjoys romantic suspense complete with an alpha male hero and a healthy dose of spice.

This story follows Lara as she searches for her missing sister and reluctantly teams up with Calder, her sister’s ex-boyfriend and a professional tracker, to find her. As the investigation unfolds, Lara and Calder are forced to confront years of mutual attraction while racing to save her sister, leading to both a suspenseful rescue and a satisfying romance.

I really enjoyed the combination of romance, adventure, and crime-solving in this book. Lara and Calder's personalities complemented each other well, and their individual backstories added depth to both the relationship and the overall plot. The supporting cast was also a lot of fun and helped create a well-rounded story.

I have never read the Jeffrey Deaver series that inspired the TV show Tracker, but I am familiar with the show's premise, and I noticed quite a few parallels between those characters and this story. To the author's credit, those similarities are acknowledged within the book itself through references to the Deaver novels. However, readers who are familiar with either the books or the television series may find some elements feel a little too similar at times.

My main criticism was that the nicknames Lara and Calder gave each other seemed to appear somewhat out of nowhere and felt a bit corny to me. Fortunately, that was a minor issue in an otherwise enjoyable read.
One of the things I appreciated most was how the author set up the larger Stone family series. We learn just enough about the other siblings to become invested in their futures without taking focus away from the main story. I'm definitely interested in seeing where the series goes next and look forward to reading the other Stone siblings' books.

Overall, this was an entertaining blend of romance and suspense with likable characters, engaging action, and a strong setup for future installments. I would recommend it to readers who enjoy romantic suspense with a healthy dose of adventure and mystery.

The start of a new series is always so exciting- you get to meet a whole new group of people and learn bits and pieces of them throughout the series. The Stone family IMMEDIATELY fascinated me! I loved the premise of this romantic suspense not being military or law enforcement related. Just a private company built by brothers with a wide range of skill sets.
Growing up Calder Stone and his siblings were brought up to follow rules, and not the rules that others may adhere to; these are survival rules. From a young age Calder was taught to live in the wilderness, fend for himself, and defined himself. As an adult Calder keeps to himself and has a fairly solitary life. But when his past shows up his world is a little off kilter.
Lara Crane has always been the responsible one, the one taking care of her sister, her mom, and her patients. So when her sister disappears she is met with dead ends but has a gut feeling that something is right. While Lara may have been led to believe that Calder broke her sister's heart she didn’t hesitate to reach out to him to help her find her.
Calder, while hesitant, does help Lara and brings her along, so when the leads bring them to a cult Lara doesn’t hesitate she is all in. Calder and Lara have chemistry from the start and I loved how they really tried to keep their feelings for one another a secret, pretty much everyone around them could see the connection. While this book is a slower burn once Calder and Lara give into their feelings and connection it is intense! I love how Calder lavishes Lara with attention and she finally lets herself have something for herself! The twists and turns in this book had me literally at the edge of my seat until the end, and even then I really didn’t want this book to end. This family, their dynamics and their pasts have me looking forward to what is to come in this series! If Dr. Rebecca Sharp is new to you or on your radar I highly recommend starting here, and then binging her backlist as we wait for book #2 in the Off Grid series!

The Stone family is interesting and I’m hoping we get a book about each of the siblings and their father.

The story brings together Lara and Calder who her older sister, Rachel, in college for 9 months. These two seemingly had only minimal contact in the past but it was memorable for both. Lara seeks Calder’s help approximately 12 years after college when her sister goes missing. There is a taboo vibe because from the dual POV it is clear there is a strong physical attraction between these two and both try to fight to because they feel its wrong.

I enjoyed the initial investigation into what happened to Rachel because it slowly introduces these characters to us readers while they reacquaint themselves with each other. Calder is a very methodical and intentional man who has rules for almost everything. He and his brothers have a business that uses their survivalist indoctrination as children to recover lost people, items, etc.

I enjoyed getting to see some of the family interactions of the siblings. They remind me a little of the Reynolds family from a prior series.

While I really enjoyed this book it took me longer to read than typical because parts of the book became frustrating and had me step away from the book.

Lara is an ER doctor, but her non-stop internal reciting of the scientific name for Calder’s musculature as she lusted after him when he was shirtless or just breathing quickly became annoying. The physical attraction between these two characters is completely obvious, but I didn’t really feel much of an emotional connection was built over the course of the story. Things got super spicy but their physical relationship came across as primal from positions to intensity. I don’t have a problem with steam & spice but given his past relationship with her sister, I would have preferred some tenderness as well.

I’m definitely interested in his brother Creed’s book, Tamed.

This is one of the best romantic suspense books I’ve read recently! It is a romantic/spicy version of the NCIS or Tracker television series. The author, Dr. Rebecca Sharp, does a wonderful job with pacing and character development, and the suspense kept me turning pages late into the night.

The MMC is Calder Stone – one of five brothers and one sister who live off the grid with their father on Stonewall Ranch, the family’s one-thousand home in the beautiful Wyoming Tetons. The family are survivalists and have a family business of finding missing people. They call themselves “Retrievalists.” Calder is closed off emotionally due to his mother’s death when he was fifteen. As the oldest sibling, he feels responsible for what happened and is afraid to love someone for fear of losing them.

The FMC is Lara Crane, a Doctor of Emergency Medicine practicing in Arizona. Her sister Rachel Crane is older, but a troubled young woman who has had a series of bad relationships. She recently went camping with a sketchy man and has been missing for several days. Lara turns to Calder Stone for help because she knows he is a tracker, but also because she knows him from when he dated her sister 12 years ago.

As the story unfolds, Calder agrees to help Lara find her sister and they begin a thrilling search, full of unexpected twists and turns. We discover that Calder and Lara have been secretly pining for each other for the past 12 years. Both are so afraid to love and be loved for fear of heartbreak. Both are carrying baggage from their childhoods and Lara has additional recent trauma that is hard to overcome. Yet the chemistry between them is electric and their passion is like a thunderstorm, wild and fierce!

The author introduces the other siblings and the father of the Stone family. Each is intriguing and I am so excited to read their stories in future books in the Off the Grid Series.

I immersive read this with the ebook and the narrators left a lot to be desired. The MMC's narrator sounded mechanical at times and a bit rigid. The FMC's narrator sounded very breathy, almost like her voice was breaking and she was out of breath for no reason. It was not the worst performance, but the terrible writing exasperated it. They can only perform what was written.

This is the second book I have read by this author and I think I may just not like this author's writing. It was so bad.

Like her other book, the excessive hard on references were an immediate turn off. The sister is missing, you came for help, you both haven't seen each other in 12 years and all you both constantly think about is wanting to sleep with the other. No background to the attraction between the main couple. Just both lusting after each other.

Also, we get it. The FMC is a doctor. The incessant medical terminology used to describe the the MMC's body became played out fast. No need to drop the entire textbook for chapters on end.

The writing and dialogue was so cringy. "obey" 🤢 The nicknames: horrible. Tomb raider and Wild Man 🤢 Read the room people. I hope to never read the word 'wild' in a romance again.

The story dragged quite a bit from the middle onwards. The sex scenes were ill-timed and so cringy. Also, even when they didn't need to be out doors, the want to have sex outside in the dirt for no reason was weird. Ex: "Fuck me" ...in the middle of a rescue mission on the outskirts of a deranged sex cult????!!! Please, be serious! "I wanna feel you go wild in my mouth." 🤮 Save us all.

"You promised me loud. I wanna hear you come loud." Again, in the middle of hiding in the woods just outside of a cult, during a rescue mission!? You are supposed to be hidden.

I wanted to like this, but this author just might not be my cup of tea. This may be for you if you like romantic suspense with heavy lust. The plot was there just overshadowed by the things above.
