Rebecca Sharp always loved a good love story. Let's face it, when you include a romance novel on your 8th grade summer reading list just to see if the teacher would notice (she didn't!), she was bound to give writing one of her own a go. There's really no corner of romance that she doesn't (or wouldn't) enjoy writing, except maybe aliens, much to her husband's dismay, so her large catalog features a little something for everyone. However, her love of shows like NCIS and Criminal Minds makes her favorite stories to write the ones with some kind of suspense and crime solving.

When she's not writing, she's at her office treating patients, and somewhere between those two things, you'll find her wandering the globe with her husband always searching for their next adventure.

I hate to say that this book wasn’t for me. I had to DNF about half way through. I’m not going to bash the book or the writer whatsoever, so I’ll keep my opinions about it to myself. I am afraid this one missed the mark with me. At some point I’ll try to reread and see if it goes over better in my mind.

From the very first chapter, this is the kind of debut that hooks you instantly and reminds you why you love diving into a new series. Book one can make or break everything—and Tracked absolutely delivers.

This story doesn’t just focus on the central journey of Lara and Calder; it also carefully sets the stage for what’s ahead, introducing a cast of characters that feel purposeful, layered, and clearly built with future books in mind.

Calder—Lara’s sister’s ex-boyfriend—turns out to be the one person who might be able to help her find her. As their paths cross again, we’re pulled into a suspenseful, cult mystery that steadily unravels. Beneath it all, there’s a strong emotional undercurrent driven by Calder’s quiet, deep longing, adding another layer of tension to an already gripping story.

With a hint of fake dating and a whole lot of slow-building chemistry, the romance adds just the right amount of heat without taking away from the intrigue. The plot feels rich and intentional, the side characters are intriguing, and the tension—both romantic and suspenseful—keeps you turning the pages.

Tracked strikes a really satisfying balance between mystery and romance, delivering a story that draws you in and leaves you genuinely excited for what’s next.

This is a book that is going to live rent free in my head.
I am going to buy a hardcopy when this publishes.
Prior to this, I had never read any of Dr. Rebecca Sharp's books.
This has converted me and I have actively added her other books to my TBR list.

Tropes
Fake dating • Sister’s ex / forbidden love • Forced proximity • Survivalist hero • Missing person • “We shouldn’t want this” • Touch her & die energy • Off Grid • Romantic Suspense

Spice Level

Content Warnings
Kidnapping/disappearance • Violence/murder themes • Psychological manipulation • Isolation • High-stakes danger

Quick Synopsis:
Lara, an ER doc running on caffeine, anxiety and grit, decides to show up unexpectedly to her sister’s off grid survivalist ex-boyfriend (aka Calder aka Lara’s long-time “absolutely not, do not touch” crush) home in order obtain his help in finding her missing sister (aka Calder’s ex-girlfriend).

What worked for me:
The relationship between Lara and Caulder was written with chemistry I could feel burning off the pages. The first half of the book was a lot of will they followed by devastation when they didn’t and then when they did, I swear I had to get a fan to cool off.

The complex issues that Lara was dealing with surrounding her being an ER physician were so accurate and really built a wonderfully complex character that was fueled by so much determination, intelligence and feminine power that I was impressed by the writing.

Calder was a big hunk of a man, who had mildly extreme views of honor and responsibility. He was deeply flawed and even more self-isolated than his off the grid life demonstrated but if all men had his values and discipline, the world would be a much better place. Basically, I am in love. New book boyfriend.

What didn’t work for me:
Maybe they could have gotten to the spicy scenes sooner? The writing flow was so good though, so really the story unfolded how it was supposed to be and the chemistry with anticipation/uncertainty from both FMC and MMC had me frustrated it didn’t happen sooner.

Happily this was book 1 in the Off the Grid series, it appears there is a book 2 scheduled already. Let’s just say there are brothers probably more complex and deeper than Calder. I am stoked for this series, it is different then my normal reads.

Final Verdict: Rent Free in My Head Vibes

Rebecca Sharp absolutely pulled me into this story from the very first chapter. This opening book in the “Off the Grid” series delivers a perfect mix of suspense, romance, emotional depth, and wilderness danger that kept me completely invested the entire time.

The story follows Lara Crane, an ER nurse who constantly sacrifices her own well-being for the people she loves. Whether it’s her patients or her younger sister, Lara always puts everyone else first, and that selflessness slowly begins taking a toll on her personal and professional life. When her sister suddenly disappears after attending a mysterious couples retreat hidden deep in the Wyoming wilderness, Lara panics and turns to the one person she believes can help—Calder Stone.

Calder, Lara’s longtime crush and her sister’s former boyfriend, is a skilled wilderness tracker who specializes in locating missing people. Living full-time in his Airstream and keeping himself emotionally guarded, Calder is the kind of rugged, dependable hero that instantly commands attention. He’s protective, capable, and quietly caring beneath his rough exterior.

Together, Lara and Calder head into the remote retreat pretending to be a struggling couple in order to investigate what really happened. From the moment they arrive, the atmosphere feels unsettling and tense, and Rebecca Sharp does an incredible job building that uneasy feeling throughout the story. I genuinely never felt completely certain about where the plot was heading, and several twists completely caught me off guard.

The chemistry between Lara and Calder is intense right from the start. Their connection simmers beneath every conversation, every argument, and every dangerous situation they face together. Even though the romance develops gradually, the slow-burn tension works perfectly for the story and makes their emotional moments even more rewarding.

What I loved most was how balanced the book felt. The mystery was gripping, the romance was emotional and believable, and the characters had real struggles that made them feel authentic. Lara’s strength and vulnerability complemented Calder’s protective nature so well, and watching them navigate both the investigation and their growing feelings made the story impossible to put down.

Between the creepy retreat setting, the survival elements, the emotional baggage both characters carried, and the nonstop suspense, this book had me completely hooked. Rebecca Sharp created an exciting start to the series, and now I’m beyond ready to continue with the rest of the Stone siblings’ stories.

CBS shows like Criminal Minds, NCIS, Fire Country, Blue Bloods, and Tracker do many things right, except for the one thing they always get wrong: the romance.

I know I’m not the only one who wants to see more of the intimate relationships in these high-stakes scenarios between my favourite characters. Dr Rebecca Sharp shares this sentiment and decided to fuck it and write the romances we’ve all been wanting on our screens.

Calder is a recluse; he stays off-grid and keeps his heart strictly off-limits. Well, that’s until Lara shows up—the woman he has wanted for so long. She says her sister is missing, and now he has to help her find her. Lara is a doctor and has a fine appreciation for the male body, coincidentally and especially the fine triceps and biceps of Calder Stone; she couldn’t help but stare at the man, even though back in college, he was her sister’s boyfriend. Now they must work together to track down her sister, and it starts with a retreat. The catch? There’s only one spot left—and it’s for couples.

Tracked by Dr Rebecca Sharp has done it again. I’ve read and loved several of Sharp’s books, and this one was no different. If you’re looking for an action-packed love story, then this is definitely the book for you. Sharp herself describes her books as “NCIS with more romance and steamy smut.” And if that doesn’t sell you, I don’t know what will.

The pace, the banter, and the sheer danger of the book were addictive—I just could not put it down. Calder and Lara are a match made in heaven. I loved the absolute trust and fire between these two characters. I could go on and on about the swoon-worthy man that Calder is, but I’ll refrain; he’s broody, protective, and has the best pair of gluteus maximus Lara has ever seen.

And if there’s one thing I know for certain, it’s that we’ll be seeing the whole gaggle of Stone brothers’ romances. Tracked is expected to hit shelves on July 28, 2026. Make sure to say hi to Lara and Calder for me!

Thanks so much to the author and publisher for the chance to read and review this book! All opinions here are mine alone.

This book actually had me COMPLETELY hooked because it combined suspense, forbidden tension, survival vibes, and emotional chemistry SO perfectly 😭🖤
The Fake dating/undercover lovers + sister’s ex + wilderness survival tropes worked so well together. Yeah this book was everything i need in a romance book.
The tension between Lara and Calder was INSANE because you could feel YEARS of buried feelings and attraction underneath every conversation. The whole “we absolutely should not want each other” thing they had going on made every little touch and moment between them feel so intense.
And Calder. Omgg my beautiful rugged survivalist MMC who’s protective, emotionally controlled, and secretly obsessed underneath all that restraint??? I was immediately obsessed with him😩 The man literally lives in the wilderness and acts all cold and disciplined while clearly losing his mind over her.EXACTLY my type of book boyfriend..

I also loved the suspense aspect of this book. There was actually story building and plot. The missing sister storyline and creepy retreat kept me on the edge of my seat and the danger made the romance feel even more emotional and urgent. The balance between mystery, survival, and romance was honestly SO good.

And the chemistry??? The forced proximity?? The stolen moments while pretending to be together?? I was UNWELL.

If you love:
🖤 romantic suspense
🖤 fake dating/undercover lovers
🖤 forbidden attraction
🖤 sister’s ex trope
🖤 rugged protective MMCs
🖤 wilderness survival vibes
🖤 emotional tension
🖤 danger + romance
Plssss read this

Tracked: Off the Grid was hard to put down. Lara, the FMC is looking for her sister Rachel and approaches Calder her sister's ex boyfriend from years ago. This one had a few twists/pivots in the first half as we follow the trail that Rachel left. I don't want to spoil anything especially with the book not being released yet but the path to finding Rachel ends up in a surprising direction.

This book has alternating POV's for Lara and Calder which I personally really like because you connect more with each character. Lara as noted is an ER doctor and is personally/mentally working through something that happened at work throughout the book. Meanwhile Calder's character is pretty closed off but I liked how he always put Lara's safety first. There's also a question mark with what happened between Calder, Rachel and Lara years ago when Calder/Rachel broke up. Things are hinted at so you can draw your own conclusions but I felt it added another personal layer to this story. We're also introduced briefly to members of Calder's family who I'm definitely interested in reading a story about each of them.

Overall I thought the suspense in this one along with the romance was well paced. Again the alternating POV's let you connect more with Lara and Calder so you are more vested in their story.

Thank you to Net Galley and the Publisher for the ARC. My opinion is my own.

Thank you NetGalley, Dr. Rebecca Sharp and Montlake for the ARC of Tracked!

Words cannot describe how excited I got when I saw that this advanced copy was available on NetGalley.

I read the Reynolds Protection Group series by here and was absolutely hooked with those. For those who loved those books- this one will not disappoint! When I read the dedication of "For everyone who watches NCIS, Reacher, Tracker or Criminal Minds and secretly wishes there was a spicy NSFW version. This one's for us."

Dr. Lara Crane's sister Rachel goes missing, and the only one she knows who will be able to help her find her is Rachel's ex Calder. The problem with this is not only does Lara believe they parted on less than ideal terms, but Lara had the biggest crush on Calder.

Calder and his family live more off the grid and know how to survive in many different situations. This is why Lara knows he's the man for the job, but is she able to keep her attraction for him out of the way? Or will elements of the investigation push them closer together?

This book was definitely a page turner for me and I could not get enough of the psychological twists and the tension between the main characters. I also loved getting the family dynamics from Calder and his siblings (and his father) and I cannot wait to get more of them!

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of Tracked by Dr. Rebecca Sharp!

I've been sitting on a copy of another book by Dr. Rebecca Sharp and kept thinking to myself, I'm going to read that next. Well, I picked up an ARC of Tracked as 'Read Now' from NetGalley as a way to encourage me to finally read something by this author and I am disappointed in myself for waiting so long to read her books.

This was so good - I can't remember the last time that I wanted to forget everything and just a read a book all the way thru in one sitting. Calder Stone is such an intriguing man right from the get go and the mystery behind his relationship with his ex-girlfriend and her sister Lara kept me invested until the very end. Lara isn't necessarily running away from her demons in PHX, but she isn't necessarily staying to face them either. It was the perfect timing for her to seek out Calder's help in finding her sister, his ex, when she goes missing. And the perfect opportunity for secrets from 12 years earlier to unravel.

This book very much reminded me of one of my favorite author's and her books, Lora Leigh, in the best way. It was suspenseful, sultry, a little mysterious, and a lot hot. Loved this book and would highly recommend!

I loved this book!!!
Thank you so much for the ARC!

Lara Crane’s sister goes missing after Lara's last phone call with her. She, of course, freaks out (as she should) and goes to the only man she knows that can help her, Calder Stone. He just so happens to be Lara's long-lost crush and her sister's ex.
Lara and Calder have to work together to find the missing sister and try not to fall in love in the process. Oh, and did I mention they have to pretend to be together to find her sister?

I think this book was one of the best from Sharp! I loved the characters, the mysteries, and the story itself. I was not entirely sure where it was going to go until we got there.

Lara is an ER hurse that tends to care too much about others. She puts herself behind the need to protect and care for her sister and her patients. Sadly, that is the very thing that starts her downfall in her career.
Calder is a professional tracker in the wilderness of Wyoming. He also lives in an Airstream full-time. He is such a great character to have in this book! He is great at his job and cares for those around him.
Together, they are a bomb of tension and feelings that are just waiting to explode during a night out in the wilderness.

Spice- 🌶️🌶️.5

Thankyou Netgalley for the opportunity to read this arc. Expect an honest, unbiased review from me, always.

Imagine one of those TV shows like, CSI, Bones, Criminal minds. This book has a strongly similar vibe, badass characters with great skills in finding people, a doctor, and lots more romance. It's basically a romantic suspense book done really well. I was smiling from the 1st page, very rare for me, and hooked. The protagonists know each other from their college years; MMC is MFC's sisters ex boyfriend adding a layer of forbidden attraction, hence some will they, won't they angst done well.
MMC is full of skills as he was bought up by a dad who was not only a survivalist but also one who used to be in a position of power, of the background sort, which enables lots of funny goodies and snippets about his childhood, and the family is also equally interesting/fascinating.
MFC's sister is presumed missing and so the MFC goes to the police who placate her then is told to look up a nearby "finder" shall we say and bang its the sisters ex.
Great read, did not get bored at all, fast paced without being rushed. Loved it, will definitely read the next book once it's out and will go check out the authors other books.

ARC review - NO SPOILERS

Another gripping story by Rebecca Sharp and I enjoyed every bit of it!

This is the first book of the series "Off the grid", centred around a group of siblings and their father, living in Wyoming. This book tells the story of the eldest brother, Calder, who works as a tracker to find missing people and Lara, an ER doctor, looking for her sister who's gone missing and asks Calder to help her find her, considering he is her sister's ex-boyfriend. Lara's sister has supposedly gone missing after joining a couples retreat camp in the wilderness, so they infiltrate the camp posing as couple in trouble. The place gave me such creep vibes from the start and I knew it was not going to be a happy place.

I liked both characters, with their past and present demons, their development throughout the story is really well done. The attraction and chemistry between them was fire from the start, however it is a slow burn but it's really well done. She is such a strong woman and he is a true protective hero.

I was reading and gripping my seat, so many scenes were quite tensed and also a few plot twists I did not expect. It was really thrilling!

I now cannot wait to read the next one of this series !

This dedication really sums up who will love this "For everyone who watches NCIS, Reacher, Tracker, or Criminal Minds and secretly wishes there was a spicy NSFW version. This one's for us.”

I love all those shows (some as guilty pleasures because let’s be real NCIS has some major copaganda and other issues), and this really lived up to that. Tracker is definitely the most direct influence. Maybe a little too direct at times. Actually thats the one big issue I had with this. Some of it felt way too much like a tracker fanfic. There’s even a joke about him using the fake name “Colter Shaw” instead of his actual name “Caulder Stone”. I think, especially given the dedication and the name, things should have been shaken up slightly more, but that might just be me.

I did really enjoy this though. I was a bit apprehensive when they had to fake date at a wilderness retreat but I should have trusted it. I was worried it would turn into some kind of romcom, but it did not. it stayed a romantic suspense book throughout, and a good one at that. I won’t say too much because it would be very easy to give spoilers but it was a good mystery and I liked how things wrapped up. I think its also well set up for future books in the series.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Montlake for an early copy for an honest review!

I previously read Archer by Rebecca Sharp and it was addicting. When I saw this was available on Netgalley, I knew I had to get my hands on it. For the readers who love cults, murder/mystery shows, and hot survivalist men, this book may be perfect for you!

I think Sharp is one of those authors whose writing style can be the same across all her books and you are guaranteed a good time. Tracked had me hooked from the start and left me going “WTF” at moments. We follow Lara, as she enlists her sister’s ex-boyfriend to track down her sister who went missing. I swore I knew what direction Sharp was taking the story and I was so wrong. Each twist and turn while seeing Lara and Calder grow as a couple only had me diving deeper into the story.

The romance was definitely a slow burn but from the minute Lara and Calder saw each other, you knew the spice was going to be hella spicy. While their relationship can be deemed as taboo, I think Sharp went about it in a healthy way where everyone involved was truly ok with the relationship.

I am excited to see which Stone sibling story Sharp will give us next!

Had I realized from the beginning that this book was about Lara and Calder—her sister’s ex-boyfriend—I probably wouldn’t have agreed to review it. I’m usually a fan of this author, but this particular trope just gave me the ick. Personally, I can’t get past the idea of someone dating a woman after having been intimate with her sister. It just feels messy and uncomfortable, and definitely not my cup of tea.

Because of that, I ended up skimming a large portion of the book, mostly trying to fulfill my obligation to review it. What disappointed me even more, though, was the wasted potential of the characters themselves. Lara and Calder both have backgrounds and qualifications that could genuinely allow them to help people in meaningful ways, but the story never really explores that. Even by the end, there’s little sense of purpose or direction in their lives beyond becoming survivalists who occasionally track people.

Unfortunately, this one was a big miss for me.

Thank you so much Dr. Rebecca Sharp and Netgalley for this early copy!!

Rebecca is very much a comfort author for me, and would be for any of the NCIS, CSI, Criminal Minds lovers out there. I love that we get an amazing romance along with the suspense and mystery.

Our FMC, Lara, goes to our MMC, Calder for help locating her missing sister. The same sister who happens to be Calder's ex-gf. And surprise, surprise, our typeA personality girl doesn't let him go without taking her. Can we say forced proximity. And they end up at a super sketchy dating retreat where they have to pretend to date- I die.

There are so many secrets and twists and lies and this story line will keep you glued to your kindle.

What I also love about all of Rebecca's stories is the families- Calder is one of 6 and while we don't see a ton of all of his siblings and his father, we see enough to leave us wanting more of them. I can't wait for the next book in this series!

This was a solid read, even if the romance took a backseat to the mystery for me 😅. I'm a fan of the show Tracker, so stumbling onto that connection in the dedication was a fun surprise, even thought the book is literally called Tracked. The first chunk of the book felt slow getting to the retreat, but once things kicked off the pacing picked up nicely. I was way more invested in solving Rachel's disappearance than I was in Lara and Calder. I did feel like their relationship progressed a bit fast for me with it having been twelve years since they’d last seen each other and their previous relationship was small interactions here and there. The suspense storyline was genuinely the highlight. I'm open to continuing the series depending on where the next mystery takes the Stone family.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC of this ebook in exchange for my honest review.

The first in a much anticipated new series from Rebecca Sharp and the story delivered in spades. Twelve years of secrets, lies, assumptions and wanting drive this story to the end. Calder Stone an in demand tracker is asked by the gorgeous Dr. Lara Crane to find her missing sister Rachel, Calder’s ex girlfriend. Calder and Lara’s wild attraction is immediate as it was all those years ago. As the drama and angst ramp up Calder and Lara find themselves in very close quarters and it does nothing but fuel the fires between them as they’re in a dangerous race against time and the elements to find Rachel. There are brief introductions to the other Stone siblings as well as the patriarch Cassius and the lay of the land for the Stone sanctuary. Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the opportunity to read and review her work.

The dedication for this book immediately had me hooked and spoke to my soul as a lover of NCIS, Tracker, and Criminal Minds shows. This book takes a lot of inspiration from the TV show Tracker as well as NCIS and I had so much fun reading it. Lara Crane’s sister goes missing and in order to find her she tracks down her sister’s ex-boyfriends and her former crush. I loved all the psychological elements in this book, the tension between the main characters, the family dynamics between Calder and all his siblings. I was invested and absolutely flew through this book I can’t wait to read the next one. I think I am most excited for Colby and Creighton’s stories next.

Calder grew up living off grid with 5 siblings where their father taught them to hunt, track and survive. They later use this skillset to open a business tracking down missing people.

Lara is a doctor who reaches out to Calder when her sister Rachel, Calder’s ex girlfriend, goes missing. Lara had what she thought was an unrequited crush on Calder during their tumultuous relationship. Calder was taken by Lara the first time he saw her but ignored his feelings because he knew they were inappropriate.
One of my favourite quotes is “I never looked at you twice back then because all it took was once”

• Romantic suspense
• Dual POV
• Fake dating
• Tension

This was my first book from this author and I’ll definitely be reading more!

I have always enjoyed thus author and this one was no different! It was the perfect blend of romance and mystery. I've never read a book where the MC/his family were so isolated. I hope we learn more about their dad in the future books! I will say I struggled keeping all of the siblings organized--I liked that all of their names started with the same letter but it was a lot of keep track up, especially in the first book. I also hateeeeeeed that pet names, they were so cringy but I just ignored them and moved on LOL Major thanks to NetGalley for the early copy <3

I absolutely love Rebecca’s books and this starts this series out with me wanting more! This family is just so interesting. I’m already dying for the dad’s book please please tell me that they were hinting at a setup for his cause I can get behind a good age gap iykyk! I LOVE the show tracker and this is giving all the vibes especially our MMC. The storyline sucks you in the slow burn and I mean slow cause 72% to get to the dirty is allot of tension and yearning lol the suspense of this storyline is so good I was definitely not expecting a couples retreat to turn into a side project for THAT! Creed’s book is next!

WOW! This is a different kind of intense and had me hooked! Lara and Calder have history and it’s that history that brings them together again.

As they work to track down Lara’s missing sister they uncover so many secrets and find themselves in danger, but the biggest danger of all is what their close quarters is doing and if it’s just attraction or more!

Lara is such a spitfire and I loved every second of sass she gave Calder. They pushed each others buttons and I loved the way they challenged one another!

This is the start of a series that’s going to be intense and full of so many surprises! I’m here for all of it!

The chemistry in this book is off the charts—the spice level is incredibly hot, serving up some rougher, almost animalistic intensity that fits the wild survivalist vibe perfectly. While the main mystery was obvious in a few places and easy to figure out, Dr. Sharp completely makes up for it with a couple of killer twists that I never saw coming! If you want a fast-paced romantic suspense that delivers major heat and non-stop tension, drop everything and read this right now. An absolute 5-star must-read!

I absolutely devoured this book! It’s the first book I read from this author and definitely will have to go in to a deep dive of the rest of her books. I love it all. I’m a big fan of crime tellings/ podcast/documentaries etc. This book has it all.
*romance
* strong fmc and mmc
* suspense
*forbidden love
*cult vibes
*yearning
The male main character is giving I will burn down the world to save you and It had me swooning for him the whole book.
One of my favorite quotes was “I never looked at you twice back then because all it took was once”

Tracked by Rebecca Sharp is one of those reads that hits even harder if you’re familiar with her style—if you know, you know. I love the direction she takes her stories, and this one really leans into the emotional depth. It had me fully in my feelings more than once.

This book weaves in some heavy themes, including cult dynamics, past trauma, and strong found family elements, which added layers to the story and made the character connections feel even more impactful.

I’m already looking forward to the rest of the siblings’ stories. Overall, a solid 4-star read.

W o w. Thank you NetGalley for this book in exchange of an honest review.

This book is WILD. Exciting. Interesting. I truly didn’t know what was going to happen.

The dynamic between Calder and Lara the whole book was explosive. And the fact that Calder had dated Lara’s sister all those years ago? D r a m a!!!

Dr. Rebecca Sharp did a great job setting up the family and introducing them. I loved how they were survivalists and so much on their own.

This book was out of this world and I cannot wait for the next one!

Rebecca Sharp has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Ranger was my favorite (I’m a Spencer Reid girl), but Tracked is a close second! I love a fake dating trope, but add in a dash of mystery and suspense? Immediately, I’m in! The raw intensity of Calder and Lara’s relationship made me feel all the feelings.. just two broken people, meeting each other where they’re at. I would recommend this for anyone who is a fan of romance and Criminal Minds.
