When he sees the way his vice-president is treating his ol’ lady, he tries to keep his thoughts to himself. The one thing Bull insists on in his club is respect and loyalty: respect for the patch, respect for your brother, and loyalty to the club. However, after finding Babs in a harsh predicament after a run in with Locks, he can’t help but step in.

The Broken Pieces of Us from M.N. Forgy is the first book that I have read from this author. I totally went in not knowing who these characters are especially I didn't read the first two book of the series. With that being said, I didn't feel lost while reading this novella and I love that. M.N. Forgy wrote a MC Romance book that I have enjoyed so much. This book was gritty, raw, and full of passion. Being that its an MC book, the author didn't give you perfect characters but instead flawed and realistic characters that you were invested in getting to know. Though this book didn't end the HEA that I would have liked, but I still loved the ending since it stayed true to its MC roots. Life is not perfect and the men of the Devil's Dust are far from saints. The Broken Pieces of Us was an enjoyable, gritty, heartfelt and a raw read. It was sexy, steamy, violent, and couldn't be put down. The storyline and writing was fresh and entertaining. With that being said, I will definitely be checking out more works from M.N. Forgy and the first two books of this series.

3.5 Stars!
Bull's Novella.
This one is a tear jerker. Emotional and Heartbreaking!
Sometimes you can't choose who love, love chooses you. A story of being trapped in a relationship without emotion and battling your feelings for someone you can never have. I knew what would come, but it was still heartbreaking to say the least.
I'm having a tough time rating or reviewing this one. If you've read What Doesn't Destroy Us, then you know there was always something lingering between Bull and Babs. And you know how it ends. How can I review without spoilers? This story was tough to get through, not because I knew what would happen, but because I had to re-read most of the scenes from What Doesn't Destroy Us. The thing is, I don't know if reading this novella after you read the first book is a good idea or even after. If you read it before, the story will be spoiled, if you read it after it's repetitive. If you take out all the scenes dealing with Shadow and Dani, the story would've been more fulfilling, which would be tough because the lives of all the club member are intertwined. Nonetheless I'm still addicted to The Devil's Dust. You know what I need? Bull's story in about 5 years. The ending left us to ponder... What if... I can't say. You just have to read it.
"In Hell, there is no escaping the damaging things it brings. I'm in love, and I can't fully be in love because I'm already owned by a Devil."
This book is a short novella all about Bull, the president of the Devil's Dust MC. I love Bull so much. He captured my heart in the previous two books.
Bull is a tough takes no bull kind of man. As the president, he has taken over the club from his father and makes sure rules and laws are followed no matter what. Until the rules prove to be a huge obstacle for him as his daughter that he knew nothing about appears and the woman he loves his taken by his fellow club brother.
Babs is the ol' lady of the MC vice president. She thought she had a great marriage until she didn't and she can't figure out when their marriage emotionally ended. Babs knows she doesn't love her husband any longer and his cheating ways proves he feels nothing for her. But marrying into the MC meant she has laws to abide by and falling for the President is NOT one of them but the heart wants what it wants.
If you think you are going to get a HEA out of this novella, think again, this one is heart breaking. To watch a big tough man lose his heart is something that I love reading but does break my heart.
I just finished The Broken Pieces of Us and I enjoyed it. This is Babs and Bulls Story. It coincides with What Doesn't Destroy Us (Devils Dust Book One) and The Scars That Define Us ( Devils Dust Book Two) so you get to see inside Bull and Babs story. It is heartfelt and it makes me wish for more.
M.N. Forgy kept with the story line and I just loved that. Sometimes when authors go back and add things for a novella it doesnt quite work out. No worries here!
I cannot wait to see what happens with Bobby and Doc (next story that comes out in March)
We find out what happened between Bull and Babs while things were playing out in What Doesn't Destroy Us. All I can say is that Forgy packed a lot of story and emotion into a short little read!
Book 2.5 in the Devil's Dust MC series. This Novella should be read after book 1 & 2 as it contains spoilers, as indeed will this review. Stop reading this NOW if you haven't read them already.
Towards the end of The Scars That Define Us, we found out that Bull had been having an affair with Bab's; the wife of his VP Locke. This novella tells their story. The book starts just prior to What Doesn't Destroy Us. It explains how Bab's met Locke, the eventual change in him and their marriage. We understand how her relationship developed with Bull and the true love story it became. It makes the eventual end of their relationship all the more heartbreaking.
You really get to see Bull the man, rather than Bull the MC president in this instalment; and it's an eye opener. He came across as a rough, tough biker in the previous books and of course to some extent he is. However this book digs deeper and you get to know exactly how he feels about the various events that he played a pivotal role in. You also see him fall in love with a woman that by his own club's rules is untouchable. He gave up one woman for his club, he has no intentions of doing it again.
You will fall in love with these 2 characters because you get to know them on a deeper level in this book. When they are eventually torn apart you will feel your heart breaking so much more than you did the first time round. You will understand them as people and you will appreciate the love they have in one another.
The last part of this book deals with the aftermath of the tragic events that occurred in book 2, however I am going to let you read that yourself. As a Reader you don't think that Bull and Bab's story is one that necessarily needed to be expanded on. Well done M.N Forgy for not only recognising it as being important in the series story arc, but for telling it with such eloquence. I love the new character you have introduced and I am interested to see where this will lead. I also sincerely hope that Bull gets his HEA; he deserves it. I now look forward to Bobby's book. He has always given the light relief in this series but I am guessing you may be about to make his life a little tougher.
This series is one of the best out there and I can't recommend it enough to lovers of the MC romance genre. The Broken Pieces of Us is a MUST READ novella in a MUST READ series.
I love these two characters in the other stories. I would love to "see" more into Bull's life. I know he's Mr. Big Bad President and he acts like it sometimes...though he has a soft heart for those he cares deeply for. Babs is one of those people. The author hinted in The Scars that Define Us there was something more going on between Babs and Bull. This novella will give you more insight into that relationship, how it came to be, and where it was going.
I think it's interesting to see how the MC President interacts with his people and the things he thinks when his daughter, Dani, comes on the scene. Bull hasn't had the easiest time as an adult and running the club...but I think he's done the best job he knew how. Some of the people he surrounded himself with were not the best picks. They chose to turn their backs on him. Which would make me a little leery.
The Devil's Dust is definitely a series you should read. This novella can be read first or third. You decide. It will have a few spoilers in it, however, not enough to deter you from reading the first two books. I, personally, like this series, and am looking forward to seeing what comes next for the Devil's Dust!
I beta read this book for the author - so my review may be a tad different from the others.
If you’ve read this novella or going to read it, it’s because you’ve been following the Devil’s Dust MC series. That means you know what happens. Your heart has already shattered into a million pieces.
Despite that fact, there was a captivating quality throughout this short story that had be glued to the page just waiting for the guillotine blade to drop. The sex scenes between Babs and Bull were rough and sensual with a touch of care and romance. These two might not have been together for years, but it sure seemed like it. There were brief words, but the chemistry between them radiated out of the book.
I know many people are not going to want to go near this novella because of the gut wrenching outcome, but I just don’t think that’s fair. I get fiction is supposed to be a getaway from the real world, but it’s a breath of fresh air to add in some realism to the stories every now and then. That is after all how we’re able to connect with the characters we’re introduced to. Bull and Babs deserve to have their story read. It might be a short ride, but it was a beautiful and intense whirlwind while it lasted.
I was really enjoying this book up until a certain point. It was a quick read, and it was interesting enough to keep me involved, but this one thing ruined the whole book for me spoilers below.
SPOILERS I think the author kills off a main character for no reason. Every book doesn’t need a happily ever after but this one could’ve easily had one and I didn’t love the choice to not give that to the characters. Life sucks enough already fiction should have mostly happily ever afters. this is a hill that I’m willing to die on.
Can love be denied? Bull has denied his feelings for Babs for a long time. He has lived by the code of his club and out of respect for his brother not acted on his feelings for her. This is their story and also the story of how the club evolved.
Babs has known heartache and betrayal. The bad boy biker that had wooed her, married her and made her his ol’ lady is gone. In his place is a cruel, heartless man that she no longer recognizes. Their marriage is over and she is ready to move on, but he refuses to release her. When Bull the president of the club offers her a job, she accepts it. Now she has a purpose and the feelings she has had for Bull begin to grow. Both try to deny them because she is still married but as time passes neither can stay away from the other. Babs decides to reach out and take whatever happiness she can with Bull.
Bull is the Prez of his club and he follows the rules. He finds himself questioning some of them when he sees the hell that Babs is living in! When he offers her a job at the clubhouse it is out of a selfish need to help her as well as the club. Things between them are intense especially now that she is around every day. How can he protect Babs and at the same time stay true to his club? Not break faith with his brothers? Bull needs to find out who is after the club and find a way to stop them. Is it possible that they have a snitch inside the club?
Would I recommend this book: Yes! For those readers that want the in between bits and pieces about the Devil’s Dust MC this is a must read for you! It fills in so many missing pieces from the first two books in this series while telling Bull and Bab’s story.
Would I recommend this author: Yes! Each book by this author pulls me a little more into the world of MC that she has created. Her stories are real and sometime rough, but still gives the reader the perfect read!

So I got this book because the synopsis looked good. Plus it showed it being more of a novella and I needed a quick read to pass my time. Well it was and it wasn't. It was a quick read but didn't pass my time, it only frustrated me. I have never read anything from this author and I failed to realize until the end I was reading out of order due to having other books in the series. With that being said I didn't feel I missed anything. So I guess this could be a standalone - possibly.
Bull is the president of Devils Dust MC and hasn't loved anyone in a long time. The last lady he loved he let slip away from him and by default chose his club over her. He could have gone and found her and bought her back but didn't. So he screwed around and didn't get attached to anyone else.
Babs is married to Locks and is his old lady. They have been in a relationship for some time now and it has now gotten to the point he treats her like garbage. He cheats on her openly and expects Babs to not say a word about his other women. Then one day he goes to far in his treatment of Babs and Bull steps in.
The relationship between Bull and Babs is awesome. She is Bulls VP's wife and old lady and is technically off limits but that doesn't stop them both from developing feelings for each other. Loved them together. If only Locks would let her go as his old lady then she could be free to be with Bull openly. However life is not that way.
This story did not go the way I had hoped. The author did not give me the ending I wanted. I know... The nerve of Forgy for not making ME happy. The title is exactly that BROKE PIECES of my heart. I get why but at the same time I wanted the happy ending for Bull and Babs. Locks did not get what he deserved either. He deserved more, much much more for his role. If or when you read this book then you will understand what I meant. I would have given this a lower rating merely because Forgy made me mad because of the turn of events that happened in this story but I couldn't do that. It was a great read. Now I need to read the other books to get the bigger story.
Being the President of an MC club isn't always whats it's cracked up to be. Sure, there are women at your disposal but when you've given your heart away years ago to watch it walk right out the door, something takes hold of you, no matter how tough you are.
Bull hasn't loved another woman since the years past. He let the love of his life walk right out the door and never went after her. Being in the club day in and day out, he sees how his VP, Locks is treating his ol' lady and he doesn't like it one bit. Babs, Delilah formal name, deserves better and Bull knows it. Babs is married to Locks and has been cast aside for Locks side ventures, aka, club whore.
Bull has fought his intentions towards Babs for as long as he can. He knows he's going against his own club rules but he can no longer stand aside and watch Babs be treated the way she is. But can he confront his club with what he's doing, by breaking his own club laws, not to mention his trust with Locks.
His world gets turned upside down when the woman from his past walks right back into his life and with her comes a surprise he never knew or suspected at all.
Babs wants more from Bull, but he just doesn't know which way to go anymore and taking his time and not doing what was in his heart from the beginning will prove to be detrimental to everyone involved.
Babs niece, Scarlett has had a rough time of life and the addictions that can so easily be taunted in front of you. Bull finds her in the worst possible situation and has made it his goal to take care of her.
This is a fast paced novella, filled with a massive amount of life. And i am completely hooked!
First of all I have to say this really isn't meant to be read as a stand alone. I mean sure you could read it as a stand alone, but you might be confused about what's going on and who all the character's are. So I would probably make sure you've read the first two books in the series.
This short story of course is in just Bull's and Bab's POV's and starts just right before Bull's daughter Dani shows up in the first book. I really liked being able to get to know Bull's character a lot better. And even getting to know Bab's character a little bit better.
I'm really trying not to give away to much here just in case you haven't read the other two books. But let's just say I knew there was a little softer side to Bull underneath his tough exterior. I mean we see it when he interacts with Dani. I just love Bull.
Bab's was just her Bab's self. She was her tough as nails, independent, sassy self. And it was nice to see how she was with Bull.
I have to say I cried reading this book. Even though I knew what was eventually going to happen. Not one of those ugly cry's that people talk about, but definitely had the tears running down my cheeks at one point. And let's just say I never cry during a book. I may get teary eyed during a book, but I never cry. I've cried maybe a total of 2 other times reading a book.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I think M.N. Forgy did a great job making Bull seem more human. Than the kind of cold hearted leader of the Devil's Dust. I just hope before the end of the series that Bull can find his own HEA.
I give this book 4.5 Stars out of 5.
***I received a copy of this book for my honest review**
I wouldn’t say that this is the third book in the series, but it is a short story about some of the characters from the last two books. This book is about Bull and Babs, it’s not a happy ever after either. This is a sad story and it has a sad ending. It is the type of story that will make you heart ache. Even though it was a depressing story, I still enjoy that we got to read a different POV of things that were going on in the first two book. Plus reading the love story between the two characters.
I am trying to give out any spoilers from the first two books but it is really difficult. What I can tell you is, this book is about Babs failing marriage with Locks. After a huge fight, Bull couldn’t help but step in. But the more time that they spend time together, the more they fall in love. When Dani and her mother shows up, Locks put on a show that they have a perfect marriage. But it’s to late for locks, her heart belongs to Bull.
This book is not over 200 pages, so it is a book that you can just sit down for a couple of hours. Even though it’s not a HEA story, I think that you can still enjoy this book.
Babs and Bull start off this story by being at odds over Locks behavior and womanizing ways which Babs believes Bull condones. When it becomes apparent that Locks is not going to let her go as his ol' lady, Babs resigns herself to keeping her secret relationship that is blossoming with Bull a secret. Bull finds himself at odds with the club's rules about claiming a woman and that woman being that man's until he decides to let her go. When an unexpected incident occurs, Bull finds he is too late to take his chance with Babs. There is a lot of underhanded moves that were made by Locks and, when the truth comes out, Bull is left reeling even more. At the end, Bull tries to do right by Scarlett in honor of her Aunt Babs and is holding onto her as his new hope for getting on the right path with his life again.
This was another great one. This is the story of Bull the President of the MC Devil's Dust. He loves his club and would do anything for it. Bull goes through a lot in this book. Meeting his daughter, falling in love, and losing brothers. Babs (Delilah) is one of the old ladies of the club. Locks is her husband. They had a crazy start and it is still is crazy. He has changed and Babs is tired of it. She is tired of the lies and the cheating and abuse. Babs takes a chance on night and is so glad she did. She always wanted to find that one true thingies life and never regretted it. This was such a great story. I loved Band and Bull. Such a sad story for these two and loved the behind the scenes we did not see before. I love these characters and their stories. Can't wait for more.
Must Read!!! The cliffhanger that ended this story was enough to leave my head spinning and me craving more Bull surprise surprise there!! I’m just in shock as you are. It’s one that you don’t want to just skip over it’s really one that you want to read!!! Grab a copy and see what I mean I so could talk about this all day long but I’m not one for giving out to many spoilers that’s just wrong so If I did leave a few I’m sorry.

This is a great story of love found and lost. We get insight into the life of Bull, the Devil's Dust Prez, and his secret love with Babs. You get to see that tough bikers softer side. Although most of this book is a retelling of events that happened in the other books, I feel that this installment is vital to the understanding of these two important characters. This is told by Bull and Babs, their feelings and interpretations of events. It builds the depth of characters. I look forward to more.
This one is a tear jerker. Emotional and Heartbreaking!
This is a great Novella to the series it is heartbreaking to read I loved Babs and Bull story if you have read others in this series read this you get more of an insight to Babs and Bull relationship as heartbreaking as it was it was worth every tear You just have to read it
I am in love with Bull I liked reading his story as he was a bit of a mystery in the other books. I hope he finds his happy, he deserves it and I have a feeling we are going to be hearing more. This is a sad book in the series that I think is a must read to get a handle on one of the main characters of the series.
I really enjoyed reading this! M.N Forgy, this was an awesome addition to the Devil Dust's series. This is told through Bab's and Bulls's point of view. I loved reading how everything was seen and thought through there views. Check out my full review on Blushing Babes up all night book blog!
I'm learning that anything M writes is gonna be a 5 star read!! Another book I'm in love with!! I love that Bull and Babs got their story even if I hated how it ended for them!! Now I'm gonna have to have Devils Dust withdrawals til Bobby!! This is Definitely a must read!!
