All roads lead back to Ever Graves. Even the ones paved in fire and brimstone…

After severing ties to the nightmare world, Mia Harker should be enjoying her newfound freedom with Nox, Aries, Bones, and Draven—the loves of her life. But deals made with the devil are forever…

Strange visions haunt her. Drowning her sorrows in poison is her only escape. But that too takes a heavy toll. And Mia soon begins to lose herself to a new nightmare.

An ancient curse, a blood oath, and centuries of evil with roots that stretch far below the Wishing Tree.

A true monster, one who has been stewing since his creation, wants more than Mia might be willing to give. But he’ll do everything in his power to get it.

When shadows walk on hallowed ground, they wake the living and the dead. But it is the ones who were forgotten who should be feared the most.

Some monsters are born. Some are made. And some haven’t been accounted for… yet.

Grave Devil is the second book in the Nocturnus series, a dark gothic romance set in the world of Melancholia. It is directly related to the Wickford Hollow Duet, The Devils of Raven’s Gate Duet, and Absentia Mori. The FMC ends up with multiple MMCs. Content not suitable for everyone. Wow, this book from start to finish had me on edge. The plot twist had me in a chokehold. Mia and all her men are so perfect for each other. They love deeply and care so much about each other that you can feel the emotions behind their love. I can’t wait for book 3 and if you haven’t read any of these books well you are missing out.

If there is one thing I can always count on, it's that M. Violet will completely consume my life with every new release—and Grave Devil was no exception. 🖤🥀 This sequel takes everything I loved about the first book and amplifies it, delivering a darker, deeper, and even more addictive journey through the haunting world of Ever Graves.

A few months have passed since the events of Ever Dark, but anyone expecting Mia and her men to finally catch a break is in for a rude awakening. The nightmare isn't over—not even close. Strange forces continue to creep into their lives, and Mia finds herself being pulled toward something far more sinister than before. Disturbing visions, ancient secrets, and a darkness rooted deep beneath the Wishing Tree create an atmosphere that feels unsettling from the very first chapter. 🌙🩸

What I loved most was how effortlessly the story kept me hooked. There wasn't a single moment where my attention drifted. Every chapter revealed another piece of the puzzle, while simultaneously creating ten new questions. Just when I thought I understood where the story was heading, M. Violet completely shattered my expectations with a revelation I never saw coming. 😱✨

The paranormal elements continue to be one of this series' greatest strengths. The world feels eerie and otherworldly, yet somehow remains grounded enough to feel believable. We also get a much deeper understanding of the nightmare realm and the forces at work behind the scenes, which added so much richness to the overall story. 👁️🖤

The relationships remain at the heart of everything, and watching them evolve was incredibly satisfying. Mia's bond with each member of her harem grows stronger, more complex, and more meaningful as they face new challenges together. Their loyalty, protectiveness, and devotion to one another make every emotional moment hit that much harder. ❤️

That being said, Bones and Aries completely stole the show for me. 🥹 Their connection carries a tenderness that shines amidst all the darkness surrounding them. Every interaction between them felt genuine and heartfelt, and I found myself looking forward to their scenes more than anything else.

The flashback chapters were another highlight. They provided valuable insight into past events while helping explain the motivations, histories, and tragedies that continue to shape the present. Rather than slowing the story down, these glimpses into the past made everything feel even more layered and emotionally impactful. ⏳✨

I also loved seeing the continued links to M. Violet's wider universe. The crossover moments, hints, and breadcrumbs scattered throughout the book made the experience even more exciting for longtime readers. And those glimpses involving Lettie? Absolutely brilliant. They left me desperate to know what comes next. 👀📚

The romance is beautifully developed, the emotional connections feel authentic, and the chemistry between the characters remains as intense as ever. Every relationship grows naturally alongside the plot, making both aspects feel equally important.

And then there's that ending. 😭💔

I finished the final pages completely stunned. Some of my theories were confirmed, plenty of new mysteries emerged, and now I'm left obsessing over what happens next. It was the kind of conclusion that leaves you staring at the wall afterward, desperately wishing the next book was already in your hands.

Grave Devil is dark, atmospheric, emotional, and impossible to put down. Between the gothic setting, fascinating lore, unforgettable characters, shocking twists, and constantly expanding mysteries, this series continues to get better with every installment. Now excuse me while I impatiently count down the days until book three. 🖤🥀✨

Grave Devil is the second book in the Nocturnus series, a dark gothic romance.

Mia is falling back into the void with a much darker force than with Nox; the ties from the nightmare world aren't gone as they thought. She's having strange visions that only poison can tame, but that has dire consequences.

An ancient curse, a blood oath, and centuries of evil with roots that stretch far below the Wishing Tree.

I don't want to give away too much, so my review will be short, but I couldn't put this book down. It didn't drag or feel slow in parts; it was magnetic and unique. The world they live in has some strong paranormal elements, but are grounded in our world at the same time. The connection between all the MCs was amazing, and the spice, as always, was perfection and kinky! There is a twist in the story that I really enjoyed, and I love that there are so many crossovers with the other books!

The way the relationships developed was just perfect, and it was great to witness the growth and depth of each character.

We get a few chapters from the past, which were really cool to read; it helps us understand why things are as they are today. And we get more info into the nightmare world and how that works.

What in the actual heck did I just read!!!

M, you have done it again with another amazing read. I love this world and I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next because i know it's going to be wild.

Grave Devil picks up a good few months after Ever Dark concludes. Mia, Nox, Draven, Bones and Aries are all growing closer by the day but they all seem to have secrets.

Since Mia signed her you know what over to the Wishing Tree, she has heard another voice in her head and is numbing it using not so great ways instead of communicating with her guys. The thing is, all her guys are hiding something as well and the secrets finally catch up with them when Mia's secret is revealed. From there, it kind of spirals into something so much darker but very SPICY which I loved. It was just so sad that they were all suffering in one way or another and they felt like they couldn't say anything but I love that it also brought them together and they will be so much stronger for what's to come.

In Ever Dark i had so many theories and in Grave Devil i got so many answered which was amazing, however, I do have a few more questions for sure.

I could go on and on but I just want you to read it for yourself. Be prepared for an 'oh f**k' moment because there is a couple of them especially with The Skelker...

I'm so excited for what's next, please read this series, it's so worth it.

Thank you M and your amazing team for the opportunity to read this story and to be a part of your ARC team. I am forever grateful 🙏

Welcome Back to Ever Graves: Where the Insane are Welcomed and the Dark are Normal.

If you thought the trials, tribulations, and absolute emotional devastation of the first book were enough to last Mia and her men a few centuries, think again. Grave Devil proof-tests every single bond, pushes every boundary, and proves once and for all why M. Violet is a master of dark, atmospheric romance.

Mia has already proven herself to be a fiercely resilient queen, earning the loyalty, devotion, and hearts of Aries, Bones, and Draven. But her ultimate act of sacrifice—giving up her very soul to free Nox. We left off wondering how they could possibly recover from such high-stakes trade-offs. In Grave Devil, we get our answers, but they come at a terrifying price.

The past doesn't stay buried in Ever Graves; it claws its way back to the surface.
From the very first page, the atmosphere is deliciously thick with dread and tension, that is impossible to resist. The mysterious Wishing Tree continues to taunt our characters from the periphery, whispers finding their mark in the minds of those desperate or broken enough to listen.

M. Violet is poetic, dark, and utterly consuming. She never misses a single detail, crafting a world where the line between sanity and madness is beautifully blurred. The pacing keeps you on the edge of your seat, seamlessly transitioning from quiet, intimate character moments to high-stake threats.
The transitions between the past and present narratives are executed flawlessly, building a crescendo of tension that makes the climax of Grave Devil impossible to put down.

Check your trigger warnings before reading! Because when i say it's dark, i mean it.

In Ever Dark (the first book) we get to know Mia and the three men that make her life mhmm let's say a lot more interesting, then add in a nightmare demon with Nox (novella) and i thought that was it but NO no no no... There is still so much more to this story and to this world.

Mia is cursed because of her family tree and with her saving Nox a whole lot more was set free then what she bargained for. She has this darkness inside of her, drawn to another... hearing things, wanting things, seeing things, feelings things, that she shouldn't.... but can't help herself to want, even crave.

The men are these big scary men that make everybody in town shiver when they even come near them but the moment they are together they will beg and sink to their knees, UGH. And not just for Mia but for eachother, their love, their bond is so strong, so intense and so hot. They are all so deeply connected, they have this profound bond that others may not understand and or even know of, but they are a part off eachothers lives, from now till hopefully forever.

There is still so much more to this story, the way these stories are intertwined, the world the author has build is just such a dark and disturbed place and i am obsessed with it. Every book, every character, every story is so well thought off and planned and just absolutely perfect in their own dark and incredible way.

I am so excited to see the lineage of the matriachy come together and just kick ass and see the other characters make a comeback in the next book.

Generational curses and bargains with the devil

Ya'll this whole world of books is crazy. I have not read everything in the world yet but the way M Violet has taken this main town's story and all the family lines and linked them all together is genius.

This book gives us some flashbacks to when this curse first began. I definitely enjoyed seeing what kind of started all of this. We have had bits and pieces of the story throughout each of the interconnected books but this was more specific.

So this story follows Mia and her men after they events from Everdark. So now that Mia saved Nox they should get a chance to just be and enjoy life and love for a while right? Yeah that would be a no. In connecting with that dang tree something new has latched onto Mia.

Mia doesn't want to share her burden so of course she just decided to do anything she can to ignore this new presence. The solution to keeping her mind to herself is to regularly poison herself. Only now it is taking more and more to keep the presence at bay.

I had no idea who or what this new danger was. I certainly did not expect the answer. I also personally did not care much for this character. I never felt the connection like we do with the others. I understand the need for the character but also I never really cared what happened to them.

This town is so freaking messed up. Way back at the beginning people definably made a mistake in the bargains they chose. Now all this time later their families are still dealing with the consequences. Is there a way to finally end this madness?

I can't even imagine what will come next for the people of Melancholia.

Grave Devil, book two in the Nocturnus series by M Violet, is a dark gothic romance that plunges us readers into the haunting, supernatural world of Melancholia!

The story introduces us to a world steeped in gothic lore, with a focus on the town of Ever Graves and Mia Harker, a woman whose life is linked to both her human protectors and an enigmatic, terrifying force known as the Skelker. What’s a little ritualistic blood oath between friends? Along with Mia, we have her morally grey men: Draven, Bones, Aries, and Nox. Each protector brings his own set of dark histories and personal traumas to the relationship. Their bonds tested and struggles with addiction are just a couple of their challenges.

Together, the group decides the cycle of sacrifice and devilish deals must come to an end, but at a steep price. Soul for a Soul. At what cost? Will it permanently sever their ability to reach the Afterlife? In Ever Graves, true freedom is rare.

The story beautifully weaves together elements of gothic horror, deep psychological struggle, and an intricate why-choose romance. You struggle to find the fine line that divides light and dark. While the characters prepare for the upcoming Wild Hunt, they remain locked in a desperate struggle to break the chains of the past.

Thanks to M Violet for gifting me an eARC of Grave Devil. I am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

🖤📖 Grave Devil – M. Violet 📖🖤

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

MASTERFUL.

I’d love to give you an unbiased opinion, but unfortunately, I can’t. This series and this author are my all-time favorites, so prepare yourself for a full-blown rave review! 😏

Once again, M. Violet has left my jaw on the floor and me desperately begging for the next book. Grave Devil sets the world of Melancholia up to come full circle in the most brilliant way.

Nothing excites me more than when origin stories are revealed and long-held mysteries finally get answers—all wrapped up in a beautifully chaotic, completely unhinged, spicy package. 🌹🖤

Mia, Draven, Aries, Bones, and Nox... whew. 🔥 These filthy, depraved characters don't just live in the story—they crawl into your brain and refuse to leave. Combined with M. Violet’s immersive storytelling, they’ll have you absolutely feral while waiting for surprise book 3 of thr Nocturnus series.

The woman is an evil, cruel genius. 😈 But she was kind enough to throw us a HEA...

For now. 👀

If you're not already reading the Melancholia series, what are you even doing? This is an absolute must-read. Do yourself a favor and binge the entire series immediately so you can get to Grave Devil.

Trust me—you can thank me later. 😜🖤

✨ Read if you love:
🖤 Dark romance
🔥 Unhinged characters
🖤 Found family vibes with a twisted edge
🔥 Mystery and origin-story reveals
🖤 Immersive world-building
🔥 "Just one more chapter" energy that turns into 3 a.m.

It is an absolute given that if M. Violet penned it, I am going to adore it. This sequel is no exception. We step back into the eerie embrace of Ever Graves a few months after the conclusion of Ever Dark. Anyone hoping for a peaceful, happily ever after for this harem will quickly realize that deception and malice still follow them everywhere. But then again, peace was never an option in this world.
Mia’s reverse harem boasts some incredible, deeply protective dynamics, but the connection between Bones and Aries is on another level. It possesses a genuine, untainted sweetness that instantly made them my absolute favorite pairing.
The storyline goes completely off the rails in the best way possible. Just when you think you have a handle on the narrative, a massive revelation derails your expectations. It creates a frantic, addictive reading experience where you are constantly bracing for the next shockwave.
The inclusion of flashback sequences and those tantalizing teasers regarding Lettie’s trajectory are brilliant. They add so many layers to the overarching puzzle.
This book is a wild ride that manages to validate several of my personal theories while simultaneously fracturing the plot into a million new questions. That brutal ending has left me practically white knuckled and counting down the days until book three.

Whelp she did it again ladies and gentlemen!!!!!!!

M. Violet is the queen of eerie and sexy. I don't know how she does it but she is the master of her craft. Seriously this book is even better than the last. How? I have no idea but she accomplished it.

Mia may have been able to get her nightmare to become a living dream but what else did she do in the process? What did she really open up when she made the oath?

With the Wild Hunt getting closer Mia can feel the Skelker getting closer also. She isn't the only one feeling the darkness press in on her though. With secrets on secrets being kept from each other they are all unaware of how dark it is about to get.

While there is darkness there is also light. The love the men and Mia have for one another is AMAZING!!! oh my Aries, be still my black heart sir.
Bones, oh my Bones, I just can't......

If you love men that have UNIQUE taste and anatomy you def are gonna love this book.
IYKY - The comparing contest is hilarious!!!

Can't express how much I love this series and this book is literally the perfect dark desires.

What would you do if the Devil was coming for your soul?

Back in M. Violet’s world of Melancholia. And the first thing I’ll say, is it is as dark, devient, depraved and s3xy as you could come to expect from this world!
The chemistry and spice scenes came right from the get go and had me pausing and rereading. These bunch are a WILD CREW, with an incredibly dark soul, and nothing soft about them.
I think that’s what I like about it. Deep down we all have secret desires and curiosities we feel ashamed to discuss or bring up with a partner, but this book lays it ALL out there so you are facing it no matter what.
It’s delicious, and I really hope none of my family embark on this series after seeing this review!
Mia is strong af, but I cant help but feel badly for her the way she is tormented with the evil within her.
I’d def recommend going back through and doing a read prior to reading, so your brain is refreshed and ready for this story.
This isn’t light, but it is compelling and will undoubtedly reel you right in really fast until you are a goner for this entire story.
I am looking forward to what will be coming next !
Really Loved!

Delighted to be thrown back into the world of Melancholia filled with darkness danger, and the lives of our incredible characters. Grave Devil is book 2 in the Nocturnus series and continues where Ever Dark left off. I flew through this book because once the story started to unfold, I could not stop myself. So many questions are answered and yet so many new ones are formed. The relationship between Mia and each one of the MMC‘s is unique, sexy, and heart gripping. The foundation of the MMC‘s relationship to each other has no bounds or conditions and sinks into your soul. What Nox brings to this found family is otherworldly and impactful. He sits deep in my heart. The intense looming danger gets your pulse racing and some of the twists in this book are jaw dropping and completely unexpected. The ending, oh my goodness, I can’t even begin to explain how desperately I need the next book. Please check the trigger warnings as there is quite a bit of questionable moral behavior, and while I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this book, you need to make sure it’s right for you.

ARC Review

Let’s be honest I love everything M Violet writes so it’s no surprise I loved this.

But omg where to start. This book begins a few months on from where Ever Dark finished and while we expect to see the happy harem living out their best life it would seem that lies and darkness still haunts them. But are we really surprised? Darkness thrives in Ever Graves.

The before before chapters and sneak peeks into Lettie’s story add to the perfection of the mysteries that are slowly starting to unravel in the Melancholia world.

So many questions and theories were confirmed with this book but so many more questions and theories came out of it too, not to mention the cliff she left me on has me hanging on by the tips of my nails

This book is not for the faint of heart. As always make sure you check the triggers before you dive head first. You also definitely need to have read all the books in the Melancholia series including Frost Bite otherwise this one will not make sense

What a delightfully dark read.
A PNR why-choose romance at its best. We get the “my boyfriend’s boyfriend” dynamic, which I absolutely love.

This book is incredibly addictive and captivating, especially with its amazing twists and turns and its wonderfully grey characters.

And the steam level? Deliciously high. Deliciously twisted.

In this second installment, the author gives us a deeper look into the past, helping us piece together the puzzle of the present. We gradually discover the events that set the current story in motion and understand what led to everything unfolding the way it has.

So much happened in this book, and it feels like there's still so much more to come. Just like the first book, this one ends on a HFN, but the storm is clearly on the horizon—and they know it.

I can't wait to continue this story and see what happens next.

My Review
Grave Devil (Nocturnus #2) by M. Violet

Grave Devil is the second book in the Nocturnus series, and I was completely hooked by this continuation. The storytelling was excellent, and I loved how the journey of these characters continued to unfold in such a dark, addictive way. The plot was packed with twists and turns, and the gothic atmosphere added so much depth to the story.

This book definitely leans into the darker side of romance, so I highly recommend checking the trigger warnings beforehand. That said, I was fully entertained from beginning to end. I was deeply invested in everything happening, and the story kept pulling me further into this haunting world. The ending has me so excited to see where the series goes next!

If you love dark gothic romance, monsters, twisted tension, and why choose romance, this one is absolutely worth checking out.

This is book 2 in the series and while it provides many answers, it creates just as many questions. I enjoyed so many things about this book, but what stood out to me was the unique relationships between Mia and her men. Their care and love for each other was beautiful. Out of the pairings my favorite is Bones and Aries. There is just something pure about their connection.

There were definitely some shocking reveals in this book as well. The twist and turns the plot took in this book definitely led us down a path I didn't see coming. This made the story so much more intense, as I found myself impatiently waiting for the next shock to be delivered. I am definitely anxious for book three, because this story is heading to something big.

I absolutely love this story line and everything about it y'all seriously I absolutely Infiniti Recommend this whole Melancholia series but if you want to start out small start with Ever Dark 1st then read Grave Devil and if you enjoy those then go back and dive into the whole of Melancholia you won't regret it. I’ve been so excited for this book, I love the Melancholia world and I think Mia, her men and Nox are my favourite of all of them.
As much as I was excited for this, I was also dreading it. I wasn’t sure Mia would make it out of this. And now I’m worried about everyone else as well.
The relationships between all of them absolutely gutted me at times, especially Bones and Aries, and Draven and Nox. Draven is my absolute favourite, so I’m a bit biased here!

This is a dark, scary, dread filled read that had me gasping in shock and disbelief as everything went down. The Skelker is frightening af! And the things he does to Mia are both twisted and so darn hot, I didn’t know whether to wince or melt.
Time is running out for them all.

Yes we are back in Ever Graves. A few months after Ever Dark. Where the darkness is heavy and secrets that have been kept start being revealed.
Our Dark Queen Mia and her SwoonWorthy Monsters. Aries, Nox, Bones, Draven are all madly in love with each other and fighting the darkness that is threatening them. Their all a hot mess with unbreakable ties that bind them together forever.
The Wild Hunt drawing closer and Skelker is surfacing Mia can feel him more and more. Once you make a deal with the devil. He's not letting go. Or is their a way?
I absolutely love this series.
M. Violet you are amazing. Thank you for this amazing story in this Nocturnus series.
I highly recommend wonderfully delicious Dark Gothic Why-Choose Romance set in the world of Melancholia.

Since Mia has made a deal with the devil she now has Nox, Airies, Bones, Draven and loves them dearly. But the devil is ready to collect and has leashed a skelker to collect. Worst of all is Mia knows something is lurking because she hears him, feels him and gets caught in doings. But it's finding out who the skelker is what I found shocking. Before you read Grave Devil you must read Ever After then Frost Bite second. Frost Bite us before Ever Graves and Grave Devil but reading it will make so much more sense going into Grave Devil. There will be another book after Hrave Devil and I cannot wait!!

Wow, what can I truly say? I absolutely love this world that M. Violet has created. I honestly can’t get enough of it.

Grave Devil is an amazing addition to this series! I thought this was going to be the last book and I am absolutely ecstatic to find out that there will be more.

I couldn’t tell you my favorite character because I honestly love each and every one of them. I love that they have this group relationship going but they also have unique separate ones as well.

If you like a dark cult-y non PG book this is definitely an amazing one… just make sure to start at the beginning!

for me this one was a bit harder to get into for some reason. not sure if its just me or what. it's not bad by any means i think it was just slower with the plot. the spice is there!

It was obviously too naive to expect Mia and her men to have their HEA after Ever Dark. Back in Ever Graves once again, the lore of Melancholia is expending, the M Violet universe is getting even more linked together and there is a new nightmare in town.
The spice is intense from the get go, the stakes are raised and I for one cannot wait for part three to find out how it all comes together.
Once again M Violet has woven a fantastic tale to get lost into and if you are new to her books, go back to the start to get the full experience

M.Violet has done it again! This book was a rollercoaster ride of emotions just like every book in the Melancholia universe. The world building is insane and how the storyline is intertwined…. I am in awe! Mia is a force to be reckoned with and I can’t wait to see what happens next. If you love super dark books with strong female characters then you will love this one. Make sure to read the prequels though to understand and immerse yourself into Ever Graves. Oh and always remember to read the trigger warnings.

Buckle up…this one’s a LOT of info to take in and a LOT of moving parts, but it is soooo delicious and worth it to get to the big reveal that with literally make your head explode. The spice is top tier and filthy 😈😈 there are still plenty of secrets to uncover and challenges ahead for Mia and the guys and I cannot wait to see how everything plays out and how everyone comes together when they’re all in one place…I need the next book like IMMEDIATELY

I loved revisiting Knox and the crew in ever graves. Things were getting rather dark in this one and more mysteries and secrets coming to light.
The boys were as dark and possessive as ever and we see them in a new routine with Knox in the mix but things are happening and all comes out with new dark stalkers entering the picture. We
Learn more about the town and the secrets from the past and how things came to be with all the founding families. Book three will be interesting for sure

Things just keep getting crazier in Ever Graves for Mia, Aries, Bones, Draven, and Nox. Mia is being haunted by a new entity, and she doesn’t want to tell the guys or know what to do about it. It ties in to the upcoming Wild Hunt festival and in to thr dark history of the town. Spicy but very dark with a happy for now ending. They’re all just trying their best to protect each other despite dealing with their past traumas and trying to figure out what’s coming up in the future. Loved it!!!

M. Violet will always take you down a rabbit hole. Warning this is a dark read with some sinister details that have the imagination going haywire. I love how M. Violet takes into this whole other dark world. We are back with Mia, Draven, Nox, Bones and Aries. But now we get the Skelker but some history on the curses. The ending for now gives us answers but also what is next for Mia, her guys and everyone that is headed to the manor.

I’m so happy to be back home in Melancholia. This place calls to my little dark heart. Everyone here is blanketed in darkness and my heart is breaking for Mia, Draven, Nox, Bones and Aries. Especially Aries, his sadness drove a knife right through my heart. At first I loathed the Skelker but understanding why he is the way he is has me warming up to him. I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for the final showdown with EVERYONE! All roads lead to Ever Dark.
Part 3 is coming…
