I think this would have likely been a 5 star if I had read Bonded By Ash first!!! However, that just means I get to go back and binge the first two books in the Ruin of Ash series, and honestly I cannot wait.
The thing about Cadence Connor's writing is that it will pull you in and make you fall in love before stabbing you in the back with a heart wrenching twist that you can feel coming but you're still somehow blind to.
It's rare that I rate novellas above a 3 or so, but this story arc actually felt complete and left me wanting the rest of the books in this series immediately. But I will be patient.
