Book 3 of the Sterling Ridge Series. Does not need to be read in order.
Mandy Muse writes spicy adult romance. Born and raised in Texas, she is a stay at home mom with an imagination that has always left her daydreaming. When she is not writing, she is trying to keep three kids from playing with her laptop and keep them from learning how to read, so she never has to explain what mommy writes.
This novel is part of a series, but stands on its own just fine. It begins with a secretive shotgun wedding between Iris, who’s struggling to save what’s left of her family’s farm, and Nash, a bronc busting rodeo pro whose complex personal life has become problematic for his sponsors. After a courthouse ceremony and a brief kiss, the couple only have a single interaction over the next year which ends disastrously.
Having found herself in the tiny Texas town of Sterling Ridge where her brother and his family live, Iris has been supporting herself by working in a dive bar, fighting for shifts with the small cadre of mean girl wait staff, and occasionally being forced to endure the terror of a very poor ride on the mechanical bull. One night her sleazy boss hires a very hot newcomer named Beau to wait tables, and when he scoots behind her on the bull to help, she lasts the entire ride and earns a record sum in tips. They flirt but she won’t betray her marital vows, even though it’s in name only.
When Nash crashes back into Iris’s life, he’s initially jealous of her easy camaraderie with Beau, but quickly the three of them find themselves drawn to each other, together and one on one. Nash, however, has a hidden agenda which is sure to anger Iris, and Beau is running from secrets that could threaten them all.
Mandy Muse has beautifully crafted believable connections between all of the three MCs; the pace of getting to know each other individually and separately is really well done, and the spice is smoking hot. The real estate/impetus for the shotgun wedding and Nash’s family mess is quite a bit over the top, and the bits regarding Beau’s stalker were less well done, imho. But all in all, it’s a very satisfying read.
I was fortunate to have received an advance reader copy from the author and The Author Agency, and I’m pleased to share my honest review.
A camboy on the run, a waitress whose family doesn’t know she’s married, and her estranged bronc rider husband who's trying to escape his dad’s shadow walk into a bar…and somehow end up on a mechanical bull together. If that’s not your sign to read this, I don’t know what is.
🤠 MMF Why Choose 🐎 Bronc Rider MMC x Camboy MMC x Waitress FMC 🏡 Small Town Romance 🐱 He Calls Him Kitten 🌸 He Calls Her Petal 🐶 They Call Him Good Boy 🤫 Secrets Come to Light 💍 Marriage of Convenience 💋 My Wife
I love Mandy’s writing and this entire series. Her characters are always layered and complex, but the way she brings them together just works. It’s never forced. You can feel that they only fully make sense as a unit. Each person fills a space the others can’t, and that dynamic is always so satisfying.
Iris and Nash already being married, but basically strangers. Already starting chaotic. That dynamic alone had so much tension baked in, and watching them work through everything was messy in the best way. Then you throw Beau into the mix with his instant chemistry with Nash and his steady support for Iris, and suddenly everything starts clicking into place.
Individually, they’re all strong characters. Together? Even better. The connections build in a way that feels natural, even when the situation itself is a little unhinged (affectionate).
And of course…secrets. Everyone’s got them. And when they start coming out? Oh, it’s dramatic. Relationships get tested, emotions run high, and you can feel the storm coming before it hits.
Basically: chaotic setup, emotional payoff, and characters you can’t help but root for.
Thank you, @authormandymuse and @theauthor.agency for the ARC.
Iris knew she needed to save the family farm and when her only option was to marry Nash she agreed. Of course when he then took off barely to be heard from she didn't mind. Though his family (who bought the property) was hard to deal with.
Beau is cam boy with a stalker so he is hiding in Sterling Ridge but he definitely doesn't mind that his co-worker at the bar is the beautiful Iris. This bar has a mechanical bull that they have all the servers ride to get mire tips and for entertainment. Iris is terrible at it but Beau is gorgeous on it. The first time he decides to help is super sexy. Iris and Beau on the mechanical bull was so hot but Beau and Nash was even hotter.
Nash is a Bronc rider and when neither he or his family can't get a hold of his "wife" he is forced to go to Sterling Ridge and try to find her. He has no clue where she lives or works which seems like an issue since they are married. Lol.
I love the complexity of this relationship. Iris is absolutely into Beau and no one knows she is married until the husband appears. This relationship shouldn't work but it does in all the best ways.
The challenges between the three add to the story and are absolutely believable. I love how they are all so in tune with each other and they all support each others dreams. They also have some fantastic spicy scenes. Everyone takes the D at some point in this one.
I also always love seeing glimpses of the other poly relationships from the previous books. I really love this little town.
I absolutely love the way that Mandy writes and this who series has sucked me in. I knew that Iris’s story was going to be everything I would want and then some when we meet Nash and Beau.
I never knew what was going to happen with this book because every part of this book definitely kept me on my toes. When Nash caught Iris and Beau together, I wasn’t sure what was going to happen, but it made me eager because that man has definitely been through it. Heck, look at the man that raised him.
I wasn’t sure how it was going to come to play when everyone found out that Iris was married but the way they found out was crazy. I felt so bad for Beau because he for the longest while didn’t think he was going to be end game for Nash and Iris but did he get the surprise of his life. Although, Beau was trying to protect them.
I love how the ending Nash was simply putty in their hands and man, I was here for it.
Ugh, I really wanted more from these three because they were simply perfection.
This book was absolutely wonderful and I cannot help but wonder was is next.
I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.
3.5 stars. This was a cute cosy read with some swoon-worthy spice. We follow Iris and Nash who have been forced into a marriage of convenience by Nash's father - for Nash it was to control him and for Iris it was to save her family's farm.
A year later, Nash and his family have dodged all of Iris' calls for a year and she has given up trying to get in contact when Nash constantly keeps calling to get hold of Iris because his father needs some paperwork signed up.
Enter Beau, our hot camboy who flirts with Iris at the bar and cannot stay away from her or Nash...
This is part of a series but they are interconnected standalones, I have not read the others in the series and I really enjoyed it going in blind. The voyeurism vibes in the first spicy scenes were to die for I absolutely loved that!
Iris’ story is here! We have met her in previous books and I was so excited for her story. She finds herself in a marriage of convenience with a cocky Bronc rider…who wants nothing to do with her. They both settle into life (separately) and she meets Beau - then Nash shows up and let’s just say things take a TURN!
I really love how we get to know each character and their individual relationships as well as all together. Yes it’s a little messy but it works. Iris was struggling and we see her grow and I really loved her sassy side. Oh Beau, he was so charming and sweet and supportive. And then we have Nash…he comes back into her life and well, he is in for a bit of a surprise!
I loved the town of Sterling Ridge. Yes there are some downsides to a small town but I loved the quirky characters and how they were very supportive of each other when it counted.

4.5⭐️ 3🌶️ Why Choose (MMF) Cowboy Romance Marriage of Convenience Cam boy MMC Bronc Rider MMC Sassy, Cowgirl FMC Hurt/Comfort Stalker Found Family He falls first “My Wife” Forehead Kisses “ Good Boy”
“I’ve always wanted somewhere to call home, somewhere safe, somewhere I could be myself and I’ve found that in you two.”
I am a sucker for why choose especially a MMF situation and Mandy delivers again! I have throughly enjoyed her previous books and this one hits too! A marriage of convenience and the groom takes off literally right after the wedding?! What?! Well saddle me up because I was hooked and couldn’t put it down!
Iris was trying to save her family’s ranch and enters an agreement to sell it to the Yarbrough family in exchange for marriage to their son Nash to be able to keep the farm. Nash was not happy to continue to be controlled by his (horrible) father but agreed to it. He’s a bronc rider trying to make it on his own and get out from under his controlling and manipulative father. (There is a lot to un pack there in the book) What does Iris do? She moves on with her life after getting the cold shoulder from her husband and his family not even able to go work the farm she thought she l loved so much. Luckily she’s in Sterling Ridge and able to spend time on her brother’s ranch. She’s healing while rebuilding her relationship with her brothers and I really enjoyed that. Loved seeing past characters too! She working at the local bar when one day everything changes.. Enter Beau.. the smexy new coworker who is also a cam boy oh and knows how to ride the mechanical bull. 🥵 He even gives her lessons on it together. Their chemistry is instant despite Iris trying to hide how she feels. I love that they start of friends and he’s so protective of her. Especially when Nash blows back into town desperate to talk with Iris.. Iris being the baddie she is blows him off for days.. until eventually she hears him out. Let’s just say things develop in the best way between not only Nash and Iris but Beau too. What starts as something fun between them all quickly develops into something deeper. I loved their chemistry together and separately!! Nash explains how he was outed a few years back as a bisexual and I felt for him. He and Iris both had parental trauma from how they were raised. While Beau is hiding his own current issues with a stalker and Iris is trying to figure out how to deal with Nash’s father’s demands and all her new feelings for not only her husband but Beau too. The caretaking and emotional healing they go through.. ugh pulled my heartstrings! The plot kept me engaged and there was some suspense towards the end! The spice was so freaking good!! They were so hot together I was eating that up! But the found family is really what did it for me. I also loved how Nash intentionally kept calling Iris different flowers just to try to get a response from her- had me giggling! Why choose is one of my favorite tropes especially when boyfriends are boyfriend or husband are husbands within the dynamic, it just adds so much more! I really enjoyed this book and would recommend this series!
Thank you so much to The Author Agency and Author Mandy Muse for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
🏡 Small Town Romance 💍 Marriage of Convenience 🤠 Cowboy / Bronc Rider Hero 😤 Grumpy x Sunshine 🔥 Love Triangle 🌈 Bisexual Awakening 💞 Friends with Benefits Vibes 👀 Emotional Angst 🧸 Soft for Them Hero 👨👩👧👦 Meddling Family 💘 Self Discovery 🔥 Spicy Romance
Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Somewhere Safe by Mandy Muse is a messy, emotional, and unexpectedly tender ride through love, confusion, and self-discovery set in the charming chaos of Sterling Ridge. This small-town romance leans into its quirky premise and delivers a story that feels both dramatic and heartfelt.
Iris Malone is easy to root for from the start. Her desperation to save her family farm drives her into a marriage of convenience with Nash, a cocky bronc rider who seems all confidence and no follow-through when it comes to their relationship. Watching Iris navigate the fallout of that decision, especially when she is left emotionally stranded, adds a strong layer of vulnerability to her character.
What really sets this story apart is the dynamic between Iris, Nash, and Beau. Beau brings a completely different energy to the story, charming, open, and undeniably magnetic. The tension that builds when Nash re-enters Iris’s life and is forced to confront not only his feelings for his wife but also his unexpected attraction to Beau creates a compelling and unique emotional triangle. It is complicated, a little chaotic, and very engaging.
The small-town setting adds warmth and humor, especially with the meddling family and tight-knit community that never quite minds their own business. These moments balance out the heavier emotional beats and give the story a sense of comfort despite the messy relationships at its core.
Mandy Muse does a great job exploring themes of identity, love outside of traditional expectations, and what it really means to feel safe with someone. The romance is not straightforward, but that is what makes it stand out. It is about growth, honesty, and embracing feelings that do not fit neatly into a box.
Somewhere Safe is a bold and emotional addition to the Sterling Ridge series that brings heat, heart, and a refreshing take on unconventional love.
First of all… the setup?? A marriage of convenience to save the family farm AND the husband immediately goes cold?? I was already clutching my chest. Iris Malone is THAT girl. She’s scrappy, stubborn, a little chaotic in the best way, and refuses to just sit around and be miserable. So what does she do? She pivots. She flirts. She lives. Enter Beau… and suddenly I’m sweating.
BEAU. I need a moment. Charismatic, confident, a little sinful, but somehow still soft where it counts?? The bar scenes??? The tension??? I was grinning like an idiot.
And then there’s Nash. Mr. Cocky Bronc Rider Who Thinks He Can Just Marry Her And Then Emotionally Disappear?? Sir, absolutely not. Except… the AUDACITY of him to come back catching feelings??? And not just for Iris but for Beau too??? I was not prepared for how much this man was going to unravel me.
This book really said “why choose when you can have emotional chaos, bisexual awakening energy, AND yearning in every direction” and I ate it UP.
The dynamic between Nash, Beau, and Iris is EVERYTHING. It’s messy, it’s tender, it’s confusing in that very human way where no one has the rulebook and everyone’s just trying not to get hurt… and failing spectacularly. The jealousy, the tension, the slow realization of feelings?? Inject it into my veins.
And Iris at the center of it all?? She’s not just caught between them, she’s holding her own, demanding more, refusing to settle for half-love. I LOVED that.
Also Sterling Ridge?? Peak small-town chaos. Everyone is in everyone’s business, the family meddling is elite, and it somehow makes everything feel warmer while the romance is busy setting itself on fire.
This book is FUN but also sneaks up on you with actual emotional depth. Like one minute you’re giggling over banter and the next you’re like “wait… why does this hurt???”
If you love: • marriage of convenience gone VERY wrong (and then… maybe right??) • messy, delicious love triangles that refuse to behave • bi awakening / queer tension that makes you feral • small-town vibes with big personalities • a trio you can’t help but root for
READ THIS.
I am obsessed with Nash, Beau, and Iris. I would like to live in Sterling Ridge. I would also like emotional compensation for what this book did to me.
Be prepared for a messy, magnetic, deeply emotional MMF romance that hits every note: there’s sass, spice, heartbreak, and healing.
Iris is a small‑town girl with a sharp tongue and a soft heart, and she’s backed into an impossible corner. Her family’s farm is on the line, and the only way to save it is to marry Nash. He’s a bronc rider with charm for days but a family that’s as shady as they come. Nash doesn’t choose this marriage; he’s forced into it by a father who’s never been good to him or his brothers. Iris doesn’t choose it either, she’s sacrificing her future to protect her home. And after the wedding, they don’t speak for a year. The silence is thick with resentment, longing, and everything they’re too hurt to say.
Then Beau enters the picture, he’s a cam boy on the run from a stalker, thoughtful to his core, and exactly the kind of gentle strength neither Iris nor Nash knew they needed. He’s the unexpected glue that pulls them together, the one who sees both of them clearly, the one who softens the edges and sparks the connection they’ve been avoiding.
There’s fun banter, real vulnerability, and spice that makes you blush and swoon. It feels earned because it grows out of trust, healing, and finally choosing each other. Watching these three build something honest out of a situation that started with pressure and pain is incredibly satisfying.
Overall, I really liked it. I just couldn’t connect with the characters. Iris had people she could lean on, but chose not to. The drama at the bar where Iris and Beau worked seemed unnecessary. Nash also just up and leaving Iris right after their wedding didn’t sit right with me. I feel like the whole year a part could have been avoided and that miscommunication seemed unneeded.
A huge thank you to Mandy Muse and The Author Agency for the early copy!

I’ve been so ready for iris book since she was first introduced cause I just knew that she would do anything for her family farm even marrying a stranger and that’s where Nash comes in but he’s also don’t want to be married his dad is basically forcing him and after they married they left each other lives and iris thought his family was helping but they were indeed not. Beau is running away to Sterling Ridge after having a stalker
Iris is now in Sterling Ridge with her siblings, I just love iris so much she’s such an amazing fmc and so special to me, I loved her development from the first book she was introduced in to this one she grew so much as a person.
Beau has been a Cam boy for a while and he loves it but now he has this creepy stalker who’s showing up at his house and everything so he decides he needs a break so he leaves the city and goes to Sterling Ridge and works at a bar where he met Iris. Beau is my freaking mannn I love him real bad he’s just my pookie
Nash is a bronc rider who has had a very difficult life with a horrible father, I just want to hug my shayla so bad even though he made me mad a couple times but I got over it fast loll and he’s so hot and that mouth!? Yummy
Everyone’s chemistry was freaking insane omg I just love them all so much and there is a little bit of angst of course but yk I love some angst especially when it’s necessary! The spice was absolutely banger I couldn’t put this book down I read it in one sitting. Every character was amazing and so much complex in their own way but I loved it. I can’t believe this series is over it was so incredible!
Thank You So Much for giving me this incredible arc !💐🖤
Another perfect book by Mandy again! This one had me hooked from the very beginning. Just the tropes alone sold me the book straight away, but getting to know our characters just confirmed that this was the book I needed to read! I may have read just over half straight for 3 hours until I finished it. Tell me something better than getting lost in a book!!
Our book starts off with a marriage of convenience between Iris who wants to save her families farm and Nash who happens to be a professional bronk rider and the "disgrace" to the family and so it's safe to say they do not want anything to do with each other and are pretty mad at the situation they were placed in.
That all changes near a year after they got married and Nash goes to Iris's town she lives in to talk as she won't respond to him at all and only then does he run into Iris's new coworker Beau who is new to town and just so happens to be a cam boy in his spare time and may be infatuated with Iris and that is definitely clear by one scene that Nash catches them in while shutting the bar for the night!!
I love it when we have multiple partners in books and even better when those 2 men also like each other! I swear it just makes the books even better and hotter, too. It definitely was not a smooth ride for any of them as they all have heaps of underlying trauma that just made it quite messy at times.
This book was simply amazing and had me hooked at every turn that came my way, these three characters were truly made for each other and the epilogues just made me so happy with everything that they had gone through.
I’m always a fan of a good why choose, especially MMF, and Mandy delivers again. I’ve enjoyed her previous books, but this one hooked me right away. A marriage of convenience where the groom disappears right after the wedding? I was immediately invested and could not put it down.
Even though it’s part of a series, it works well as a standalone. The story follows Iris, who is trying to save her family farm, and Nash, a bronc-riding rodeo pro whose personal life is causing issues with his sponsors. After a quick courthouse wedding and one brief kiss, they barely see each other for a year, and when they do, it goes badly.
Iris ends up in Sterling Ridge near her brother, rebuilding her life while working at a dive bar. I really enjoyed watching her heal and reconnect with her family, and it was great seeing familiar characters.
Then Beau enters the picture, and everything changes. He is charming, supportive, and very good on the mechanical bull. Their chemistry is instant, and I loved how their relationship grows from friendship into something deeper.
Things get even more complicated when Nash returns, forcing all three of them to face their feelings. The dynamic between Iris, Nash, and Beau is what really makes this story shine. It is messy, emotional, and so engaging to watch unfold.
I loved their relationship both individually and together. My only small wish is that we got a bit more of Nash and Iris’s past, especially the meaning behind his nicknames for her.
Overall, this was a fun, emotional, and addictive read with a relationship dynamic I could not get enough of.
I am so pleasantly surprised by this book! The storyline was super engaging. I read this book in ONE SITTING! My heart was invested in the story from page 1. I read this whole series, and I can honestly say each book just gets better. I loved Iris, Nash, and Beau so much. They were so perfect for each other. They had their moments as a triad, but overall, they truly fit and worked so well together. I believed every minute of their love story and never questioned their intentions toward each other. They were vulnerable and thoughtful, and it made the story that much more enjoyable to me. I truly was rooting for them from the very beginning. Each character was going through their own journey and struggling with something super emotional and complex. I enjoyed seeing their true selves behind what they presented to each other and it made some of their thought/feelings make so much more sense knowing what they were dealing with. Throughout the book they were so mature and it was so refreshing to see them as true adults who communicated (mostly😅). Even when they miscommunicated or withheld a secret, it wasn’t with malicious intent and I personally could see the justification! This was an easy 5 star read for me. I had fun! I was giggling and kicking my feet the whole time. The spice to plot ratio was PERFECT and the third act was just what I wanted it to be!!!! This is a new auto read author for me!! I’ll definitely be getting this series on paperback!!
Mandy Muse did it again! I absolutely loved this unlikely love story!
Iris and Nash are in a marriage of convenience. Iris was trying to save her family’s farm and Nash’s dad set up their marriage to seal the deal. Neither of them wanted to get married and just followed through because of family expectations. After the wedding Iris tries to reach out and Nash goes radio silent. It leaves them in a weird place of no contact for months… or until Nash needs to get a hold of her about the property deal.
Iris made a little home for herself in Sterling Ridge after her new ‘in-laws’ did not let her help out on the farm. She is working, has friends, and is happier to be closer to her brothers, Theo and Jude. She starts to hang out with Beau, a camboy and server she works with at the bar. They become really close friends and one night after a shift, things become heated between them and Nash walks in.
The story between these three is so great! There is tension right off the get go and things just get spicier as it goes. The connection that they all have to each other is very genuine and I feel like they are just learning along the way. I would definitely recommend this book and I cannot wait to see what Mandy Muse has coming next.
I want to thank Mandy Muse and her team for letting me read and review this book early. As always, I appreciate the opportunity.
I am going to miss Sterling Ridge! Fell in love with this place and don’t want to say goodbye!! Iris moved to Sterling Ridge to be closer to her brothers after she married Nash to save her family farm. Nash is a bronc rider who just wants to do Rodeo and get away from his family. Beau is a Cam Boy and just needs to get away and comes to Sterling Ridge to do just that.
Nash is forced to come to Sterling Ridge to talk with his wife, Iris. But what he found when he got there was more than he expected. A woman he should have been standing by this whole time and a Cam Boy he didn’t know would be the thing that tied them together. Something that was meant to be just for fun turned into something more than they all expected. These 3 made me blush in the best way!! That hotel scene at that one rodeo….😏What I love most was the found family in their story. It’s a huge soft spot for me.
Tropes: •MMF •Marriage of Convenience •Bronc Rider/Cowgirl/Cam Boy •He Falls First •Small Town Romance •Exhibitionism •Multiple POV

Quote: ”After years of nothing ever being enough, I was done trying to appease my family. I had a choice right now and if it was them or Iris, I was going to choose my wife. I would be damned if I let them take this away from her. She was more important than anything, and if I could keep Beau with us, I was going to fight for him too.”
Somewhere Safe by Mandy Muse was chaotic in the best way… and I loved every second of it.
We start with a secret shotgun marriage between Iris and Nash that basically goes nowhere for a year… until everything blows up and they’re thrown back into each other’s lives. Add in Beau, a mysterious, very charming newcomer and suddenly things get very interesting.
The dynamic between the three of them is what really makes this book. Nothing feels rushed or forced. You get to see each connection build individually and together, and it just clicks. They all bring something different, and it works.
Iris is strong but struggling, Nash is complicated with a whole lot going on under the surface, and Beau… yeah, he slides into their lives a little too easily for someone with secrets 👀 The tension, the chemistry, the emotional push and pull...it’s all there.
There’s definitely drama. Secrets come out, things get messy, and you can feel it all building before it hits. Some plot points lean a bit over the top, but honestly, the character dynamics carry the story so well that it didn’t bother me.
Overall, it’s emotional, a little unhinged, and super engaging. If you love messy relationships, found connection, and characters who only really make sense together, this one is such a good time.
Somewhere Safe by Mandy Muse, provided via The Author Agency, is a western why-choose romance that offers a fresh take on the dynamic through strong character tension and emotional complexity.
The story follows Iris, who enters a shotgun marriage with Nash, only for the two to be separated for a year. During that time, she begins to build a life for herself in Sterling Ridge, finding her footing while working and navigating her surroundings.
The introduction of Beau adds another layer to the story. What begins as a developing connection between him and Iris is grounded by her loyalty to Nash, creating a tension that feels more intentional than impulsive.
When Nash re-enters her life, the dynamic shifts again. His jealousy and the evolving connection between all three characters create a push-and-pull that drives the story forward.
What stands out is how this doesn’t feel like a typical why-choose romance. Instead of immediately leaning into the dynamic, the story takes time to build the relationships, allowing the emotional tension and connections to develop in a more grounded way.
Overall, Somewhere Safe offers a unique and engaging take on the why-choose trope, combining western elements with character-driven storytelling.
I received an ARC of Somewhere Safe by Mandy Muse and it was such a fun surprise for me. Small town, cowboy forced marriage and MMF? Say less.
Nash and Iris are forced into marriage by his father and the setup actually works. She’s trying to save the family farm and he wants his father to fund his rodeo career. The whole arrangement is messy with a lot of tension. Then Beau enters the picture, a cam boy and things get even better.
These three are just hot together. The chemistry works across the board and it never felt forced. You can actually feel the connection. And somehow this book also managed to be really sweet. Nash and Beau bonding while taking care of Iris while she was sick was one of the sweetest things I’ve read in a while and I loved seeing the tenderness underneath all the heat.
Also, I have never once in my life understood the appeal of a mechanical bull, but apparently all it took was this book because wow, okay, I get it now. That scene was hot.
This was sexy, a little messy and way more charming than I expected. If you like small town romance with cowboys, forced marriage and a MMF dynamic that really works you’ll love this.
This was my first book by Maddy Muse, and I absolutely loved it. I’m a total sucker for a marriage-of-convenience trope, so Iris marrying Nash to save her farm had me hooked immediately.
After a year of marriage in which her husband is basically a ghost, Nash suddenly shows up at Iris’s workplace as if nothing ever happened. Naturally, she’s not exactly rolling out the welcome mat. Cue tension. Cue attitude. And cue Beau, with all his boy-next-door charm.
The chemistry between these three was spot on. I loved how each relationship dynamic felt distinct, yet they all worked so well together. Nothing felt forced, it was just three people bringing out something unique in each other.
The side plots added a lot to the story, too. Beau’s stalker storyline introduced a layer of suspense that kept things engaging, while Nash and Iris confronting how their parents manipulated them, and ultimately breaking those cycles and added real emotional depth.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait to go back and read the rest of the series from the beginning.
I received an advance copy of this book for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book was so entertaining from start to finish. I loved the plot, and I truly loved every single character. I also love that the couples from the first two books were also a part of this one. I felt like I was able to visit them one more time. They added so much to the story and made the town feel alive and full of personality.
One of my favorite things about this story is how different the scenario is compared to what you usually get with a married couple in romance. Typically, you already know how everything is supposed to be, like there’s a settled dynamic and things are just unfolding from there. This felt different, and the way Beau gets added into the mix is also not your usual trope. Usually when three people are involved, it happens in a more standard way, here, it comes together differently, and I really enjoyed that twist.
Also, the chemistry is great and the family/small town chaos is just the right amount of chaotic without taking away from the romance. I finished it and immediately wanted to jump back into Sterling Ridge again.
I’ve now read all three books in the series, and I can’t wait for the next one.
Finally…..I have been dying for Iris’s story & Mandy did not disappoint with it at all.
Iris goes into an arranged marriage to save her family’s farm, except she never really lives with her husband & not long after the wedding she moves to Sterling Ridge where two of her brother’s live. She trades the farm house for an apartment & a job at a dive bar with a mechanical bull. After a year of not hearing from her husband at all, he shows up at her job wanting to talk….and just stays.
Nash finally gets a taste of the life he always wanted, but was always out of reach. Beau & Iris are everything for him & they give him the strength to finally stand up to his father. Beau tried keeping them both at arms length because he’s never been permanent for anyone, but once he finally lets them in he never wants to let go.
There were so many ups and downs with this one & I was literally on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen at least twice. I’m so glad to see Iris & her brothers all find their HEAs, but now I am so curious about Nash’s family. If those brother’s don’t get books I will be devastated! 😭
Such a wonderful installment in the SterlingRidge series. Mandy knocked it out of the park again with this book. She writes the most heartfelt multi-partner stories and you always know it’ll have just the right amount of steam too! Iris is fiercely independent after growing up on her family’s farm. When she’s forced in to a marriage of convenience with Nash to save the farm and keep it (kind of) in the family; it’s not everything it’s cracked up to be. Their first year of message is pretty much no-contact and it’s a document only marriage. Iris gets pushed out of her family farm and decides to go see her brother who owns a separate ranch in Sterling Ridge (see Book #1 for their story). While there she ends up meeting Beau at a NYE party. Beau is a cam-guy from Denver who, due to some unforeseen circumstances, needs a break from the city. He moves to Sterling Ridge and starts working at the same bar Iris is at. They start flirting and of course you know those sparks start flying! I won’t give all the details but, know that this is such a sweet story about learning to lean on one another and how to really love who you want. I do recommend checking trigger warnings as always!
OMG, Mandy always delivers the feels in her why choose, and the series ended with Iris, Nash and Beau's story.
Iris wanted to save the family farm, and this saw her marry Nash, who is a up and coming bronco rider and comes across as a complete arsehole. But, like the Malone Family, whom's parents treated Iris' brothers appallingly, Nash too has been trapped with threats by HIS Dad, and he needed to marry Iris, in this marriage of convenience.
Beau is escaping to Sterling Ridge with reasons of his own, and finds himself working at the bar where Iris is (and as a supplementary job to his cam persona) and there is an attraction to them both. Well, if it wasn't just steamy AF between two, when these three are together, well yin doesn't yang without a third.
There is so much of hurt, and having a reason you escape that made derail this throuple, so hold on tight, as it will be longer than 8 seconds, this will be the ride of your life.
I am not wanting to say goodbye, I will miss the residents and the relationships of Sterling Ridge, but this was perfect.
BOY Was this a wild ride. I love this book so much. This is book 3 in the Sterling Ridge series. They are standalone so you don't have to read them all but I suggest you read every single one of them. Now Iris the FMC has a shotgun wedding with her husband Nash to save her family farm. Iris is scrappy, stubborn, a little chaotic in the best way, and refuses to just sit around and be miserable. So what does she do? Takes her butt to Sterling ridge with her brother is. She starts working at a dive bar, and runs into her new interests Beau. Well Nash her rodeo pro husband decides to run back up in her life and that's when things take a crazy turn. Nash not only wants and has feelings for Iris but also Beau to. Now I will let you read it to figure out how that goes. But I will tell you it is hot and sweet. Overall, the author did a fantastic job with this book. I love the character development. I love The chemistry between the characters it was just fantastic. I totally recommend this to anyone that loves MFM books because this one right here is amazing.
Thank you to Mandy Muse and The Author Agency for this incredible e-ARC through BookFunnel! I find this book very enjoyable and great. The journey of our three MCs, Iris, Nash and Beau finding their way to each other and finally feeling that safetiness and security in one another to settle down and have a home was a pleasant to read. Seeing all the characters from the other books in this series was like coming home as well, having familiar names was a comfort. I'm not sure if this is the last of the Sterling Ridge Series or is there more to come but I know it will be good coming from Mandy Muse as she writes queer romance so good and real.
Really recommend to those who love a marriage of convenience, MMF, small town, cowboys/cowgirls, he falls first and cam boy troupes. There is some misunderstanding but it's totally fine as the flirting and 🫦 tension is really good to cover everything up and top it on.
Spice🌶️: 4 to 5-ish, it was very hot and good Overall rating: 4.5🌟 Finished on 18 April 2026❤️
Another fantastic read from Mandy Muse! Somewhere Safe is a perfect example of small-town romance done right, and such an enjoyable why-choose story.
This follows Iris, Nash, and Beau as their relationships develop in unexpected ways. Iris and Nash are already in an arranged marriage, originally agreed upon to help save her family farm. While building a life in Sterling Ridge and working at the local bar, Iris meets Beau - whose memorable mechanical bull skills definitely change the dynamic between them.
What stood out most to me was how the story explores the pressure that outside influences can place on a relationship. Even strong bonds are tested, and this book does a great job of showing how communication and commitment can either strengthen or strain those connections. It feels messy, emotional, and very real in its portrayal.
Overall, this is a cozy, small-town why-choose romance with a comforting feel. It has that warm, curl-up-with-a-hot-chocolate vibe while still delivering emotional depth and tension. A really enjoyable read.
Oooo I've been waiting for this book! Somewhere Safe is a MMF small town romance that follows Iris, Beau & Nash. There's spice, a cowgirl, a camboy, and a very sexy Bronc rider.
Iris and Nash were forced into a marriage of convenience by Nash's dad (he really is an A$$hole). Nash's dad did it to control Nash, but Iris did it to save her family's farm. They lived separate live until destiny came calling and fate brought them together again. Beau is a camboy who sets his eyes on Iris and in my opinion sparks fly. They have a connection that definitely needed to be explored. But when Nash finds out Iris is with Beau and Beau finds out she's married was a reaction I wasn't expecting.
I loved Iris, Nash & Beau. They complement each other and balance each other out in a way that makes you swoon. I was definitely thrown a few times with the twists and turns Mandy created but it's what makes this story epic. And let's not forget about the spice! There are some pretty amazing scenes that had me swooning, awwwing and maybe even a little jealous.
So sad this series is done although I think there will be another one coming for Nash’s brother! Iris will do anything to secure her family’s legacy which includes being in an arranged marriage with a grumpy bronc rider, Nash. Both thrown into this unwillingly a year passes by with little to no contact until his father puts the pressure on him to get what he needs from Iris.
Iris is just moving along w life helping on her brother’s ranch and working tables at a local bar. Enter Beau he’s hot friendly and amazing on the mechanical bull😉 now she likes him he likes her but better yet they both like her husband!
I like that this book had two conflicts for the characters. Obviously Nash’s dad was an issue but Beau has secrets and it comes back even after him moving away from it!
This is an interconnected book as characters from other books in this series and previous series are mentioned but nothing that wouldn’t let you read it as a standalone if you chose.
