Christopher Shipman lives in New Orleans, LA with his wife Sarah, his daughter Finn, his dog George, and his two cats Jack and Adele. Shipman received a MFA in poetry in 2009. He is the author of Human-Carrying Flight Technology, Romeo's Ugly Nose, I Carved Your Name, co-author of Super Poems, and co-author of A Ship on the Line. His poems have appeared in literary journals such as Cimarron Review, Exquisite Corpse, The Offending Adam, La Fovea, and Salt Hill, among many others. He has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and has been featured on Verse Daily. He reaches lit and creative writing to high school kids.

In Mortar, poet/author Christopher Shipman explores how a tragedy in his family's past continues to impact the present. This collection of poetry is painful, powerful - and well worth your time to read.
