The movie when I watched it was so good that if I could rate the movie it would be 5 stars. The book is exactly the same just in book form so I give it 5 stars too.

Fun, but better to just watch it if you can

It was fun to look through the pictures, but all the lyrics are left out, and you miss out on some key elements from the plot in the movie. It just makes me want to watch the movie for the full story.

Lately I've been obsessed with kpop culture. Thanks to this movie, and now the book. There were a few minor things in the film that as I read this, I had wished they were in the book. But I understand that this is a book adaptation of a movie. It's still just as cute. I very much enjoyed reading this.

✨ "That's the funny thing about hope. Nobody else gets to decide if you feel it. That choice belongs to you."

I had so much fun reading this while listening to the soundtrack!

This book is pretty much what the title says: a condensed 1:1 retelling of the film. No add-ons or new content or surprises. Just a comforting and enjoyable read, especially if you already love the movie.

For once, the movie is better than the book :P

Kinda feels like a cheat adding this one bc it is literally just screenshots from the movie in a book. Would have liked to see a better alternative art style vibe. Also doesn't really incorporate the songs that great? Like shoukd have had the lyrics. That aside, still great and a quick read. Just let down by lazy choices. But also I get it. They wanted to get this out quick and this is a kids book but still. Could have had a bit more effort

Movie is a 5 star but I can only give this a three at most.

KPop Demon Hunters: The Movie in Comics is a fantastic way to experience the story in a colorful and accessible comic format. I really enjoyed seeing the adventure translated into panels, because the combination of artwork, dialogue, and action gives the story a lively rhythm that feels perfect for this kind of high-energy world.

The comic format makes the characters and action especially enjoyable. The visual storytelling helps bring the exciting moments to life while allowing readers to move through the story at their own pace. Fans of the movie will have fun revisiting familiar moments, while readers who enjoy graphic storytelling can appreciate the adventure from a different perspective.

I also liked the balance of action, friendship, humor, music, and supernatural adventure. The characters remain at the heart of the experience, and the comic presentation makes their personalities and relationships easy to follow.

This would be a great choice for younger readers who enjoy comics and illustrated stories, as well as longtime fans who simply want another way to enjoy the KPop Demon Hunters universe. It is easy to pick up, visually engaging, and entertaining from beginning to end.

Overall, this official comic retelling is a fun companion to the movie. It captures the excitement of the original story while giving readers a fresh visual way to experience the adventure.

Colorful, energetic, entertaining, and full of fan appeal. Five stars!

Read with Margaret who is obsessed with the movie and the soundtrack. Took a star away because the whole sequence with the blue tiger guy knocking the plant over (which is the best part of the entire movie) was relegated to ONE PANEL when it should have had at least a two-page spread devoted to it. Outrage! But I liked how they used black dialogue boxes to show when it’s… the demon voices talking? It made the whole ending of the movie make more sense to me.

Margaret’s questions that I didn’t have good answers for:
-Is Rumi a demon?
-How old are Rumi, Mira, and Zoey?
-Do demons and hunters live forever and never die?
-Why is that guy a bad guy?

Margaret’s thoughts:
-“I think that little kid just learned how to walk and talk.” (about the little girl who gives Jinu a drawing that says he has a beautiful soul)
-“I’m just so sad about the honmoon”

I really loved the K-Pop Demon Hunters movie, so thought this comic book look so cool! It appears to be pretty much shot for shot of the movie...except the songs. It's really odd that none of the songs were included. I get that it would be difficult to get music to fully translate onto the page, but I thought at least some of the lyrics would be included. Instead it had several parts where it said "...the girls sang" or "they sang." I'm not sure if it was a licensing issue or what. But the songs are the best part... Still enjoyed the book.

A little lackluster in some of the performance bits. But overall a fun comic to go through.

Unfortunately, I couldn't give this comic 5 stars for a couple of reasons. First, as a super-fan of the movie, the dialogue bubbles weren't always correct. In fact, there were quite a few instances where the dialogue didn't match the movie. Second, the decision on which movie clips to include/exclude sometimes had me scratching my head in confusion. There were some important ones that didn't make the cut. As this is supposed to be the movie in comics, my expectation was that it would be a nearly identical match for the movie, and that's what I was hoping for as well. Although I still enjoyed it, this book just didn't quite make the mark.
