Ohhhh just had time for a quickie....
How could I not have one more time with the handsome and charming Jay when he surprises his wife Matilda, for some Halloween Fun!!
I'm a huge L.H. Cosway fan and as always, she pulled another great little read out of that hat of her's.....TOTALLY MAGIC!!

In Macabre Magic, Matilda challenges her smart, handsome and charming husband to try his best to scare her, because she believes it’s a close to impossible to task. Can he succeed and win the bet they’ve made? Will Matilda’s immunity to horror films and all things that go bump in the night be enough to not fall for Jay’s ingenious mentalist tricks?
Besides the gripping tricks performed by Jay and described in vivid detail by L.H., I adore reading about these two characters and their sexy back en forth.
It’s always so very satisfying to read about your favorite couples after they find their happy. Knowing they keep growing and reinforcing their relationship and not forgetting the things that make them so unique.
Jay Fields will always be one of my favorite book boyfriends. His mischievous and sexy attitude, along with his love and adoration for Matilda will bring me back for more.

Love LOVED this! L.H. Cosways grants us a 30+ page novella featuring Jay and Matilda from "Six of Hearts", one of my all time favorite reads and book couples. Celebrating their first Halloween as a married couple, Jay and Matilda make a bet that he can't scare her and Jay accepts this challenge as only Jay can. There's sexy intrigue, thrills and a bit of warfare with a temptress. I loved this insight into their lives after their story in "Six of Hearts" and I wish with all my book loving heart we could get another book with these two. There's so much to them and I'm not ready to let them go.
This was a perfect present from the author to her readers. I loved it.

Yay, more of Jay & Matilda......and Married! I was hoping for more after I finished book 1. I love these two together.
It's Halloween in this story, so of course Jay has to show off some of his tricks (it just what magicians do naturally).
Great little wrap up on the two of them.

Its a continuation story from Six of Hearts and its set around Halloween so its a bit suspenseful but still keeping the humour and steam. I loved Six of Hearts and I loved this continuation.
Jay Fields is amazing and he can bet with me and hypnotize me anytime.

Macabre Magic es una novela corta dentro de la serie Hearts de L. H. Cosway y vuelve a tener a Matilda y Jay ( Jason ) como protagonistas.
Cuando lees un libro con el que disfrutas no quieres que acabe pero desgraciadamente llega un momento en el que llega a su fin, por esa razon me encanta cuando algunas autoras crean pequeñas novelas como esta : cortas, ( esta en concreto tiene solo 70 paginas ), ligeras y bonitas, la solucion perfecta para cuando te cuesta despedirte de ciertos personajes.
Macabre Magic fue una lectura rapida de leer ( menos de una hora ) y muy agradable, quizas heche un poco de menos que tuviera mas escenas de Jay y Matilda y no todo se centrara en " el susto ", aun asi, si eres fan de esta saga no puedes dejar de darle una oportunidad a esta novela.

A ver, la historia es cortita y está muy bien pero realmente a mí no me ha hecho gracia.
La culpa también es de Matilda por decirle «adelante con lo que sea, jodeme viva» pero el truco de Jay de pasó de la raya UN MONTÓN! Hay sustos y sustos pero vamos... este se le fue de las manos...

This was somewhat cute, somewhat cliché. I'm glad to see the couple from the 1st couple blissfully married in this one. However, I am not a fan of girl-hating and the trope of girls getting all mean JUST FOR A GUY. Moving on~~

This is a super shortie! It was fun to see Watson and Jay again. I must say the mindf*ck he did there it did scare me.. That doesn't say much because when ,e go to the theater to watch a horror movie I close my eyes when I feel sething bad/scary coming
Trina did manage to get on my nerve and I understoot Matilde her feelings regarding her very wel. I did find that neither did mich to actually make her stop. I thought her woman to woman talk would help but I guess not.. I want a but more closure in that..

"I need to know what you limits are. Do you want me just to scare you, or are you giving me permission to mindfuck the shit out of you?".
I love this short novella of Jay and Matilda. It's Halloween and Matilda doesn't think Jay can scare her. She doesn't scare so easily, but don't tell that to a stubborn Jay because he loves a challenge. I love every little piece of these characters I can get. My only complaint is that I want more!

I am sad because I looooved the first one. Jay an Matilda are great, the story it was amazing and the writting too, so now I am dissapointed with this short story, why is she not scare about anything now? It is supposed her mum was killed in front oh her so...I don't understand the story on this

1.5 is another epilogue + a Halloween short.
❤️ Since really enjoyed book one, I wanted more about Jay and Matilda. It kept my interest and showed how amazing Jay is as a magician, and how he and Matilda make a great couple.

Part One: The Bet
J & M are on their honeymoon in Miami after an off-page Vegas wedding. Jay only has 3 days between his shows. Matilda saying no horror movie has scared her, leads to Jay betting he can scare her.
The Wager:
🔸If she’s not scared, she can dress him however she wants for a week.
🔸If he wins, he gets her naked for 24 hours.
Matilda raises the stakes by having them wait until after Halloween to have sex, creating tension.
Part Two: The Tease
In Vegas, Jay performs five nights a week. Tina, his PA, dresses sexy to get his attention. Matilda dislikes it but tolerates it, trusting Jay. (I would have fired her!)
😍 Jay clearly loves Matilda:
♥ "The only crush I have is you. The only person I see is you."
♥ "I'll get rid of her if you want. It's unnecessary since she could walk right in here wearing nothing but a thong and a smile and I'd still be looking at you, darlin'. But if it makes you feel more comfortable, you only have to say the word."
Part Three: The Ruse
Tina is having a Halloween party. Matilda plans to wear a sexy costume but opts for comfort. Jay teases her with a small scare, which makes her jumpy knowing he has more tricks. At the party, she plans to confront Tina about her crush on Jay.
Jay hypnotizes Matilda, .
Part Four: The Trick:
Matilda wakes up cold on a warehouse floor, where Jay pulls an incredible scare. It has her running and screaming for her life. (I would've had a heart attack!)
🏆 Jay wins the bet! He tells Matilda:
▪️ "I won the bet. But since you've been a good sport I'll give you one concession and let you choose my outfit for tomorrow night's show. I'll give you carte blanch, wear whatever you want."
▪️ "You will?"
▪️ "I will for you. Only for you, Watson, because I love you."
I wasn't fully satisfied because,
🔻I wanted this to be longer.
🔻The end felt a little anticlimatic.
🔻The one sex scene was brief and not steamy.
Plus, I wasn’t happy with how the Tina issue was resolved—she keeps her job despite being rude to Matilda. Jay says, "Ignore her. She might as well be wallpaper to me, besides, we're stronger than that. Nobody else can touch us. I told you, all I see is you."
☹️ I strongly dislike the book cover as well.
★ But I love Jay! He's sexy, caring, talented, and smart—one of my favorite heroes. J & M's love feels genuine, and it's clear they'll be together forever. Matilda is also very relatable and a favorite of mine.
Matilda thinks:
There was so much love in his eyes that I became breathless and hot all over. In that moment I knew I'd been silly to think that anybody could ever threaten what we had together. Jay and I existed in our own little bubble and we always would. We've been through so much. He had fought hard to get us where we were right now, and I knew he'd never do anything to jeopardize that.

This was a very good short that continues the story of Matilda and Jay. In this story, they've just gotten married and are taking a few days for a honeymoon before Jay has to go back to work doing his shows. Matilda and Jay make a bet about whether he can truly scare her since no horror movie ever has and the end date for the bet is Halloween (which is coming up within the week).
I really enjoyed this story and liked seeing Matilda and Jay happily together. I was a bit annoyed that . Anyways...outside of the complaint in the spoiler tags I thought it was a great addition to Matilda and Jay's story. I'd recommend it to people that have already read Six of Hearts.

I really don't know why it took me so long to pick this one up. But I'm glad I did because I forgot how much I loved Jay Fields. He's charming as ever. I wish a guy like him exists?

Matilda tells Jay that there is no way he can scare her...Like full on scare her. So they make a bet. Jay must full on scare her...heart rate up, perspiration, screaming the full nine. This is a short story to hold back your withdraws. Loved every minute of it.

Better than what I expected! L.H. Cosway has an amazing way to tell stories! It was nice reading about Jay & Matilda after what happened in "Six of Hearts"! Can't wait for Hearts of Fire!!!
