3.5 ⭐️ | First off, I was hooked when the main character was watching American Horror Story lol. I definitely knew something sinister was lurking the whole story, but I was definitely wrong about what that was. Fun fast paced horror story that left me like wait.. what??!!

Fast read and worth it if you’re not bothered by a not the end ending.

“Will You Be Mine” - Another confirmation that staying at home, chilling on your sofa with True Crime and Wine is always the better option.

★★★★☆

I got this novel as a ARC and leave this review voluntarily.

Well this was a wild ride. With it’s fast pace and constant tension I had to keep reading and finished this novel in one sitting. Dating is never easy and diving into it again and again even when your dates are not going as planned takes determination or desperation. This story was witty, creepy and will have you tuck your feet under the covers just to be safe. Really liked the nudge to Sara Lea’s “Speed Dating” story.

Talk about a fast paced, descriptive horror story. I appreciate the author starting the book with direct trigger warnings. That information itself peeked my curiosity. Once I started the story, I was drawn in. The characters were relatable especially in this day and age of dating and using apps. I wasn't a fan of the abrupt ending though. Overall it was entertaining and I'm looking forward to checking more out from M.A. Green.

Thank you Inside Story and M.A. Green for the eARC. This review is that of my own.

ARC Review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Will You Be Mine by M.A. Green

First things first: thank you for the ARC. Genuinely appreciated. I do enjoy a good twisted little mindf*ck, and this one did delivered on that promise.

Right out the gate, the author gives you a very specific trigger list. Curse words (because she loves them—which, honestly? Same), gory bloody scenes, graphic violence, and LGBT+ love (still waiting to hear why that would ever be a problem). I’ll admit, I didn’t even clock the swearing as excessive—but that probably says more about me than the book.
So let’s be clear: if your idea of a comfort read involves wildflowers, summer breezes, and butterflies fluttering politely in your stomach, even when the story is technically about love—close this book. Back away slowly. This is not your lane.

For me? I enjoyed almost every bit of it.
It’s short, sharp, disturbing in the right places, weird enough to keep things interesting, and splattered with just enough gore to earn its place in the horror corner. It does exactly what a short horror story should do: unsettle you, make you mildly uncomfortable, and leave you wanting more.

Which brings me to the question everyone asks:
Why four stars and not five gory f*cking stars?

Because I wanted more.
More shock. More escalation. More “oh sh*t, I did not see that coming.” Especially after all those warnings up front. Brutal honesty (because that’s kind of my brand): nothing in this story truly surprised me. It was good—solid, disturbing, enjoyable—but predictable.

That said, I still had a great time with it. This was the perfect quick, bloody read to squeeze in between books on a lazy Sunday, and I don’t regret a second of it.

If you’re in the mood for a short, gory, slightly unhinged horror read—don’t sleep on this one. Just don’t expect it to play nice.

“ Don’t sleep with the lights out. If you want to wake up.”
Will You Be Mine By M.A. Green is an absolute wild yet sweet ( in the best gruesome way 😁) Read!! I love and enjoyed this Valentine’s Day themed Short Story!! Holland finds herself in a bit of a mid- life- crisis freshly single after being in a relationship with Ethan for nearly a decade. She starts to realize she’s now 39 and single Again. And now having to start dating all over again. To her she would much rather have some wine & watch her murder shows at home ( my absolute favorite thing to do!!) But her friends convince her to keep looking. Holland does so because deep down in her she longs for a Real, deep & lasting connection! She wants to find her person! Someone who gets her and stands by her side through her best & her worst. Like we all do!! So she decides to jump on Dating Apps. Will she find Love? Or will she just give up.?Join in on this awesome thrilling read to find out! Filled with twists and turns as well as splatters of gore kind of disturbingly sharp turns & laughs! This Baby had the hairs on my arms standing as well as chills down my spine!! And soooo wanted more!! So grab your copy available on the ‘Zon!! And your blanket but make sure you’re fully covered from neck to toe!! 😁
Happy Reading!! 🤓📖

Mouthy MA does it again! It’s always such a great time being an ARC reader for M.A. Truly, her wordy short stories are some of the best I’ve read. Does she cuss a lot? Yes. Is she super graphic in her scenes? Always. Am I always going to want to read her work? Absolutely! This short story got to me as I am also a 39 year old on dating sites that hates her toes being exposed outside of the blankets. Maybe I too will have a friend that comes and takes care of my dates? 😂 Ha! Kidding, but am I?

Quick fun short story from the Love you to death 7 books series (not connected but all similar themes, all different authors).

-fast pace
-darker themed with graphic scenes and cussing
-closed door romance
-check trigger warnings

I particularly loved the chatty, humourous style of writing that this author used. This kept me wanting to read more, and as well as the great plot of this story, kept me engaged throughout. There were also some superb metaphors used to describe situations which really made you feel like you were there and seeing what the main character was seeing. I wasn’t so sure about the ending and it seemed to end quite abruptly, but overall I did enjoy this thrilling and gory Valentine’s horror that was very unique and interesting to read. I am looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.
Many thanks to the author for an ARC of this short story.

Every fear of my childhood unlocked. My feet must always be covered.

Holland, an almost 40 year old recently broke up with her fiance decides to join every dating app to know to mankind. So what the problem? It seems everyone she meets ghosts her… until she knows why. Be weary of the dark and the shadows of the night.

I loved the dark humor in the story, it made it a quick read and made Holland more realistic. I also liked the nod to Sara Lea - and Speed Dating 😉

Holland has the absolute worst luck. It's almost Valentine's and she's single. Surely online dating is the answer (or so she hopes). However, things don't go as planned and she quickly realizes that the dating scene is not all it appears to be.

I really enjoyed how vivid the scenes were and the sense of unease and dread that flowed through the story really pulled me in. Definitely a great story!

Dating apps will help you find someone, right? What happens to Holland on her search for love may make you think twice! This book was a great, quick read I did NOT want to put it down! Holland has ups and downs with her matches including getting ghosted but you will discover why. This book made me rethink how I sleep – make sure to swaddle in my blankets!! I received an ARC of this book – 1st I have read of this author but will not be the last!!!

“Will You Be Mine” by M. A. Green is an intense, brutal addition to the Love You To Death short story collection. Dark, gory, and unapologetically savage, this short story pulls no punches and delivers shocking moments that linger long after the final page. Perfect for readers who like their horror raw and ruthless.

This was a great short story just in time for Valentine’s Day. Holland is using dating apps to find dates with me and/or women.

Her first date is murdered before they get a chance to meet. One of them tells her he isnt interested jn dating, another one ghosts her and the last one she ends up bringing home and weird things happen. Everyone she has dated was killed. What is going on?

As someone who’s of the same boat with Holland, I’m looking at trying these dating apps as “organic encounters” are very rare these days. After reading Will You Be Mine, I think I’m good with just reading and watching Netflix on my restdays. 😂 Idk if it comes with age or what but I also have episodes of night terrors. This book will really haunt me in the next few days.

The lead character is single and ready to mingle...sort of. 39 and reluctant to find her perfect match dating has been more a hit and a miss. Finding quality among the quantity is difficult until she finds a specific app. Things start looking up for her until they don't. The ending surprised me and it was an enjoyable short read.

Huh? What did I just read? I think I’m being generous with giving 3 stars, when I don’t really understand what was going on. I thought it was slow in the beginning, but then it picked up, but the ending was anything but satisfying. Tied with the first book in the series as my least favorite so far (one left to go).

Dating on the apps, that is a pain for me and it certainly was for this MC! Your worst dating nightmares come true in this story and definitely makes me never want to download a dating app again.

I’m going to need a 2nd book!

This is a wickedly sharp Valentine’s horror that turns modern dating into a deadly game. Darkly funny, fast-paced, and unsettling, it proves some matches are better left unread.

This was a fast-paced, horror Valentine story. What happens when your dating app date goes wrong or, even worse, turns deadly? What is happening to Holland's dates? Will she find out before it's too late?

If you are looking for a good but gory Valentine's Day read, give this one a shot!

Mouthy M.A. has outdid herself again with the cussing, much needed graphic writing of blood and ripped apart ligaments. I am thankful I do not have to use dating sites but if I did, this short story may make me rethink that, but as a person who needs to be covered up to sleep, maybe I would be safe from certain creeps on the internet. Part of a 7 book series written by 7 different authors, Love You To Death, you do not want to miss this one!

This was such a tense horror though I personally felt like the ending was too abrupt lol. (also I have a few characters who perked up and want to help with that whole... thing...)

It's graphic but in a way that makes sense for the genre and it's well paced so it never feels too overwhelming. It will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat as well.
