One tainted drink and the world drops out from under Cameron. His helplessness is the perfect weapon
Trent
Choked by fear and desire, Trent can’t breathe, can’t think, can’t run. His shame is the perfect leverage
Wade
Cold. Methodical. Patient. For years, Wade has watched and waited, calculating the perfect moment to strip his brothers bare—body, mind, soul.
It’s not love. It’s power, obsession, brotherhood warped into something ugly and wicked. By the end of the night, none of them will be innocent, none of them will be free. None of them will be The Good Brother.

Odessa Hywell is a taboo MM romance author with a book addiction and coffee problem, who lives in the Southern United States with her husband, their teenage son, who mocks her for being short, and way too many animals.
Aside from writing and reading, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and playing video games.
Her favorite season is winter—hello, snow—but in the summer, she travels as much as possible.
Some of her favorite spots are The Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park, Dead Horse Point, Moab UT, Gatlinburg TN, Helen GA, Silverton CO, Roswell, NM—plus honestly, a lot more. The list is nearly endless.
A few places she plans to go in the future are New Orleans, LA and Salem, MA during spooky season, Smuggler's Notch, VT during autumn, the Colorado Mountains during the winter, New York City, Washington DC, a cruise to anywhere, on a hot air balloon ride, on a train trip down the California Coast . . .
In 2021, she decided because she is married to a twin it was best NOT to publish her books featuring twincest and other questionable themes under her married name as her husband would not approve.
—His loss, honestly.—
If you know who Odessa Hywell is, don’t be a snitch. Like Benjamin Franklin said, “Three may keep a secret if two of them are dead.”
First of all, nobody needs a friend like Jack, Wade needs to ditch that one. While this is not at all a romance or sappy in any way, these boys absolutely, clearly want and need one another. Loved the ending, kind of hoping they’ll get a full novel now that things are out in the open.
The Good Brother is not a romance and Odessa Hywell is very clear about that, but wow, these boys absolutely want and need each other in ways that are messy, unhealthy, and impossible to ignore.
This story is dark, twisted, and completely unhinged. Wade, Trent, and Cameron are three brothers carrying so much trauma it’s honestly staggering. You think you know where it’s going… and then suddenly you’re nowhere near the map you thought you were on. And let me just say that Jack is the worst and Wade seriously needs better friends.
It’s uncomfortable, intense, and emotionally chaotic in the best way. Manipulation, blackmail, desperation, all of it drives the story forward until the truth comes out and everything shifts. The ending? Loved it. Now that things are out in the open, I’m really hoping this turns into a full-length novel.
Definitely worth the read, just make sure you check the trigger warnings first. This one is a wild ride.
Wowza. When she said this wasn’t a romance, she wasn’t kidding. This is a dark dive into three brothers that have so many issues a canyon couldn’t hold them all. Wade, Trent and Cameron. Goodness. I don’t even know what to say.
You think you know where this is all heading but you end up in a different zip code than you ever thought possible. I genuinely don’t even know how to describe my feelings.
100% worth the read but be advised, it’s going to be a wild ride.
Cameron, Trent and Wade story was deliciously twisted and unhinged, with a long list of trigger warnings that should be taken into consideration. Manipulation, blackmail and desperation are a couple of the driving tools that made their experience possible, but when the moment of truth comes unexpected developments takes place as well as a pact for the future. I enjoyed the story and the truth brought a new perspective to the events.
As always with Odessa Hywell’s books they are smoking hot. This book was about three brothers and one “passion” filled night. All is not as it seems but it was very good. Three brothers seeking something together and finding that they all have fears and desires that they share. I highly recommend this book. Enjoy.!
I don't know what I just read but it was amazing. The twist at the end. Let's just say I was not expecting that!! Odessa is the queen of cest. I will die on that hill! This is not a romance at all. So be prepared.
I read it twice. First time I thought it was too dark for me, but then I read the final and I was shocked I had to reread everything, it was a NECESSITY and O.M.G. I enjoyed it
Brothers, Wade, Trent and Cameron have trauma a mile long. But, they have been keeping things from each other and when those truths surface, it takes one night for all to come to light. A story with manipulation, blackmail, dubious consent and many triggers. Do heed the warnings. The HFN ending leaves one hoping that these three get a full length story at some point in the future.
