Tomb of Tomes: A Shadowbinders Novella

Rate this book
History is told by the survivors. But survivors do not see the worst the world has to offer.

The lost library of Nenelan was thought to be nothing more than myth. It was said to hold the secrets of Tarrisian history and the long sought after cause of the cataclysm that splintered the country. So when whispers of its discovery reach the ears of the scholars, a race to uncover the truth begins.

But Yeru must face more than ambitious scholars. Buried beneath the desert sand, the ancient library holds more than just books.

Perhaps some discoveries are better left unfound.

Tomb of Tomes is a companion novella to the Shadowbinders trilogy , following the scholar Yeru as she delves into the secrets of Tarris’ past. This dark epic fantasy novella takes place after the events of Harbinger of Justice .

“Silence is silver” got me interested in this author’s writing.
“Harbinger of justice” got me interested in the world.
This? “Tomb of tomes?” This didn’t just get me interested… it got me addicted!
My only wish was that this novella could have been the start of its own sub-series of books (or novellas) that explored the library even further. That said, I have yet to read “the black mantle,” so this may be a moot point.
That’s more of a suggestion than a critique.

I absolutely love this piece! Easily a 5-star novella that blends ‘mild creature horror’ with dark fantasy. The genre blending with added suspense and thriller elements makes this one stand out from many other “repeated themes and tropes” books, which this is definitely not! I can’t stop raving about this novella - if you like a little bit of horror mixed with mystical and fantastical places in your stories, then you will enjoy this book.

5 of 5 stars, highly recommended to the audience described above.

A companion novella after Harbinger of Justice. This follows Yeru, a scholar who explores the lost library. We saw some of the library in the first book and get more of it here. What will be interesting is how much Yeru plays into the story going forward.

I enjoyed very much this novella and I would like to read more about the buried library and its secret inhabitants.
