I’m the new team doctor. He’s the most dangerous Alpha in the league. And during one blizzard-stranded night… he knots me.
Dr. Harper Ellis thought joining a pro hockey team would be treat injuries, avoid drama, stay on suppressants so no one discovers she’s an Omega.
Then she meets Knox Maddox—the enforcer with blood on his knuckles, violence in his veins, and a reputation for ruining anyone who gets too close.
The first time I examine him, he growls at me. The second time, he corners me. The third time… he almost claims me.
But everything spirals out of control when a freak storm traps us in a hotel with only one room left. My suppressants fail. My heat hits hard. And Knox—who swore he’d never take a mate—breaks in the most devastating, addictive way imaginable.
He knots me like he’s been starving for me. He marks me like I’m already his. He protects me like he’d kill the world to keep me breathing.
Now the league wants me fired. The team thinks I’m trouble. And Knox is on the edge of losing his career after going feral on the ice for daring to insult “his doctor.”
They call him unhinged. They call me reckless. But they don’t understand the bond forming between us—or what happens when an Alpha like Knox decides an Omega like me belongs to him.
He says he’ll bleed out on the ice before he lets anyone take me away.

Was painful to read. Very short but almost every chapter is the same. The book is like work-claim-fight-claim-no claim-claim-no claim-claim-end. You can pass this one.
Some books you are happy to suspend disbelief for because ...well it could be a myriad of reasons or none but you just accept the most nonsensical thing and keep on reading.
This is an omegaverse book and each one I read seems to have slightly different rules which means that I'm always looking out for world building to get a sense of how things work here. Knotted by the Enforcer was slim on details in more ways than one.
Her heat was ridiculous and more of a plot device than a biological fact. If your heat is uncontrollable as an unmated omega/ FMC can't control her heat, why would she choose a job surrounded by Alpha hockey players? If you noticed that your suppressant started to reduce their effectiveness at the same time you began scenting a particular alpha, wouldn't you do something about that? No? Or would you rather do the bare minimum: double up on the non-effective suppressants?
Physician heal thyself. What she really a doctor? If she was a real doctor wouldn't she had spent more time trying to be professional and find our how she could continue to do her job whilst experiencing a heat. Only some third rate hack would lean into winging it. I just about lost it when the MMC alpha starts mansplaining biology to her. He wouldn't have to give the reader this exposition if the doctor was capable of identifying the issue and resolving it. Way to make the FMC look like a dumbass.
The reason this isn't zero stars is because of the MMC. Yes he was a violent enforcer, driven into a frenzy by the scent of his one true love BUT he actually made more sense than the FMC who was this one dimensional foil. MMC explained himself and his emotions, talked rationally about their hook up
Final query, why did the FMC move cities for this new job? Sounds like she was running away from something but this wasn't fleshed out at all. If it had, it would have given depth to the story and potentially explained her stupid actions due to trauma from a past experience.
I am loathed to even give this two stars. Why can't we give half stars. 😭😩
I already knew I was gonna read this book just because of who wrote it. Then, once I read what it was about, I couldn't WAIT to open up my Kindle. And after reading the first few pages... I knew this was gonna be one heck of a read!
Knox Maddox is an Alpha hockey player with some serious, violent anger issues. He doesn't take well to being told what to do, especially with his last therapist. No one was gonna tell him what to do. That is until the league hires Dr. Harper Ellis as the new therapist, who's secretly hiding that she's an Omega.
OMG, right from the start, the chemistry is at Defcon 5. Knox knows there's something up with Harper. He can feel it. But Harper tries her best to keep her secret from getting out. Unfortunately, when her body spills her secret, Knox knows he HAS to help her. The drama that goes down in the book is not only jaw-dropping, it's a page-turner, and a little wild. The intimate scenes were so super delicious and unapologetically spicy. Some scenes had me squinting and giving Harper the side-eye a few times over her crazy stuff. If you know, you know. This book kept me hooked and so happy when Knox and Harper got their HEA. That epilogue was Chef's Kiss! 💋 Kudos to Amaya Black for yet another outstanding and memorable read.
Really this book is a 3.5 but I rounded up because of Knox. He's that good. Feral but oh so sweet and instantly devoted. I mean hello, the man researches how to take care of an omega in heat so he can be the best version of his unhinged-self for Harper.
Where this lost me a little was Harper. I loved her character but given this was a novella of about 100 pages give or take, her growth and acceptance of the their status as True Mates took WAY too long. Her resistance was somewhat understandable (I say somewhat because we never really dove into her why but again, novella I get it things have to be cut for the sake of length) but it really did just drag out too much especially when after all the fighting just just flips the switch and is like, "okay, I accept this now because I can't live without that knot."
Huge note for potential readers here: this book has very poor editing. It reads as if this was the alpha or beta draft of the process and was never cleaned up after. There are typos, missing words, duplicated paragraphs, and continuity errors with the timeline. If these things bother you, skip this book.
This was an amazing afternoon read, and was so good I just couldn’t seem to put it down and I need more.
I loved the development of harper and Knox and their story, and although it’s on the short side of a read, the development and the plot flows fantastic.
I loved the delve into their ways of working things out together both their relationship and also their roles within their hockey team. I also loved Harpers ability to prove the Knox is nothing like his dad, showing him that even if he does act the way he does, he does it to protect and not to harm. The representation of them using their bond for good and being able to use it to feel each other was amazing.
The story was fun. But good lord, the continuity errors.... if that's something you can't stand, I suggest you skip it. But if you can look past it, it's a fun little read.
Though I do think the fact that Sullivan forcing them into the room together despite knowing she was in heat should have been brought up as a defense... everyone heard him do it. How're you gonna put an alpha and an omega in heat in a hotel suite together and expect nothing to happen? Give up your single room if you really don't want them boinking...
I liked the story and writing as this was a new to me author. There were a few typos, some repetition and the reason behind her taking the job was never given to us. But overall, a sweet short read. Spice? Maybe 2/5. There was maybe only 1-2 explicit scenes. Also…I had no idea what the FMC looked like, couldn’t find where she was described. Those are just some things that stood out to me. But not a bad read.
this book was cute i liked the story for the most part i just don’t get why the author didn’t tell us what led her to the new team. a few grammatical errors throughout as well. and i didn’t like how it would just jump to days later out of nowhere. there was lead up to something or a mention of an even and suddenly were in the middle of it? idk not my fave thing it took me out of the story.
Wow’ what a quick paced book! Short story 101 pages. But they are FULL of heat & smut & want!! Violent enforcer meets team doctor ! Forbidden love, but in this omegaverse alphas & omegas are true matches . So when he first meets her he knows she’s suppose to be his ! It’s violent and his full of rage … but she’s his calm and when she finally gives into her want he’s bonds her to him. It’s fast paced and very smutty but good story!

This had all the tropes and was a solid palette cleanser.
However: it was riddled with typos (punctuation, mostly), and turned into being dialogue-heavy about 50% in. It was still cute, just needs some more beta readers and editing :)
Ehh… this book had a lot of potential to be great but unfortunately it fell really flat for me. There were so many sentences that kept repeating the same thing just in a slightly different wording and everything felt incredibly rushed even for a novella. It read like AI was trying to write omegaverse.
It could've been longer and more indepth on why she ran from her last work place. There was some grammer issues and sentences that weren't finished. I feel like this could've been a longer story, I LOVED Knox's energy and attitude. The touch her and die was amazing but I wish it had been drawn out longer and given more.
That was the slowest shortest book. I liked the premise. But didn’t love Harper. She irritated me with her constant its biology and blah blah blah. I loved Knox though. The way he researched stuff and attempted to take care of her in any capacity she would let him. Overall not terrible, just not something i would read again or get excited about.
The book was a good but very quick read. I read it in about 3 hours. The chemistry hits off really quick between the two main characters and the spice enters very quickly too. The book was a light, fun read and I definitely recommend it if you are looking for a quick spicy omegaverse 😊
This story is a quick spicy read. Harper, an omega, and Knox, an alpha, try to keep things professional. Harper especially wants to deny the way Knox makes her feel. When Harper’s heat hits and there is limited rooms available at the local hotel, what is an omega in heat supposed to do? Room with the alpha that is desperate to claim her?
A nice novella about a hot headed hockey player and an omega team doctor. It wasn’t really as dark as I was expecting and there were a couple times it seemed to be repetitive - but overall a quick, enjoyable read.
The way Knox wanted Harper when he first seen her was no joke. But those two were dancing around the feelings that they felt. Glad they got their HEA and didn’t let no one tell them better! Keep writing out hits Amaya!
This novella was full of typos and broken sentences. I get that authors just starting out can’t always afford an editor, but maybe toss it to a friend to look over?
Quick read and very fun read about an Alpha with control issues and an Omega trying to make a career for herself. Steamy and possessive, everything you didn’t know you needed!
I Enjoyed the characters and the plot. It was back to back bedroom activities. But that is what claiming is all about. There was still a story and characters that were likable. I enjoyed the read.
This was a short, almost, instant love story between alpha and omega. It's best for those wanting a quick and enjoyable read. It's not perfect, but with a story this short, it's not unexpected. I still enjoyed it and it helped pass the time.
This was a good read. There were a lot of grammatical errors. There was a HEA and I can see potential for other stories about the other hockey players.
