She ran from a dead world… straight into the arms of a savage beast.Dr. Niobe Ayodele had two a bullet to the brain in a raided laboratory, or a leap into a swirling, experimental energy rift. She chose the rift.
She expected death. Instead, she woke up in a primeval hellscape. A world where the sun is cyan, the insects are the size of hawks, and humans are an endangered species. Niobe is a woman of science, armed with logic and reason. But logic holds no power here.
Gruk is a man of stone and blood.
He is the scarred, silent Alpha of a starving tribe. He doesn't speak her language. He doesn't care about her PhD. When he saves her from the jaws of a prehistoric nightmare, he doesn’t ask for her gratitude.
He claims her.
Dragged to his cave and tethered like a prize, Niobe plots her escape. But as the dangers of the valley grow—from the terrifying Bone Eater cannibals to the leviathan Spinosaurus ruling the river—Niobe realizes her captor is the only thing standing between her and a gruesome death.
When a fever threatens to take Gruk’s life, Niobe makes a choice that changes everything. She stops fighting him and starts fighting for him.
But when the rift opens again, offering a sterile, safe path back to the 21st century, Niobe faces the ultimate test. Does she return to the world she knows? Or does she stay in the savage past with the man who would burn the world down to keep her?

This story started out promising but it's choppy and it seemed like the author did not mother to make sure each chapter seamlessly blended into the next. Also, there was so much repetition because the chapters would take off from a point in the middle of the previous one and take off into a completely new direction. It's like the "author" completely forgot that they already expounded on a certain event and started rewriting it, only to change how things unfolded. The story was checked for typos and grammatical errors but it definitely wasn't checked for coherence. It's my first time encountering these types of issues with a book and I am now 100% sure that this was written by AI. It's too bad because the premise was actually interesting.
I always love when a man know what he wants immediately and he stands on it. HER, I wanted to smack! It wasn't the jungle with the deadly animals. It was how she walked out of the cave into danger knowing danger was there. I was like "dont come Grook!" Leave her! It came around well although he got pretty messed up fooling behind her. Good read, thank you!
I really didn't think that I was going to read this book. I added it to my library just to give myself a little bit of a challenge to get out of the modern genre. Prehistoric was a big leap! LOL.......But, I love romance ALL romance. This book was very good and gave very vivid descriptions of life and survival. If you read it, I hope that you like it too.
Not sure if this was written with AI help. This book had no emotions, no love. Not sure what I just read also very repetitive, I will not be reading another by this author.
This was a story of understanding, resolve, and perseverance. Love defies all barriers. I hope there is a book two because I want to know about the rift.
This is a great premise. But the entire time it feels like an unedited outline. The main characters are really great, just not ever fully actualized. Again, great premise, good outline, confusing and empty beyond that.
