This book grabbed me from the very first moment and did not let go. The Enforcer’s Good Girl is one of those stories that pulls you into its world so deeply that you forget everything else around you.
Mae Whitlock completely stole my heart. She’s soft, kind, and gentle but never weak. I loved how her quiet strength showed in the way she cared, endured, and still chose compassion even when surrounded by danger. She felt real, relatable, and easy to root for.
And Nico Moretti… wow. Cold, controlled, dangerous but utterly undone by one woman. Watching him fall first, watching his walls crack piece by piece, was incredibly satisfying. His need to protect Mae wasn’t just about duty; it was raw, intense, and emotional. The kind of devotion that feels scary and beautiful at the same time.
What really stood out to me was the emotional tension. Every scene between Mae and Nico carried weight longing, restraint, fear, and desire all tangled together. The protector dynamic, the found family with the Moretti brothers, and the way love grows in the middle of darkness made the story hit even harder.
This isn’t just a mafia romance it’s a story about safety, belonging, and loving someone so fiercely you’d burn the world down for them. Dark, intense, emotional, and addictive.

The Enforcers Good Girl is Lila Blackwood’s debut novel.
I did struggle a little at the beginning, but I think that had more to do with the third-person POV than the story itself. I personally find it harder to connect quickly when books aren’t written in first/second person, so it took me a bit to settle in.
That said, I really liked the main characters, Mae and Nico. They meet by chance, and the attraction is instant — the kind where they can’t stop thinking about each other from the very first encounter. Mae owns a spa and is quiet, kind, and unassuming, with Tessa as her only close friend. Nico, on the other hand, is the typical stoic family enforcer — unsmiling, emotionally closed off, and convinced he was “never given a heart.” His reaction to Mae completely throws him, and I loved how she brings out his protective, soft, gooey side.
There are darker forces at play, which push Nico to act sooner rather than later when it comes to protecting Mae. One of my favorite parts was the brothers — their reactions to Mae genuinely made me laugh and added some much-needed lightness.
Overall, this was a quick, solid read. While it felt like something was missing for me personally, it was still enjoyable, and I’m definitely interested enough to continue the series — I’ll be reading Matteo’s book.

I’m blown away that this is a debut novel! The writing was very well done and the story had great flow and character growth. I am not generally a fan of third person POV, and there are few who I will read it for but this was very well done.
It was great seeing Nico soften for Mae while still being what his family needed. The brothers and supporting characters were great and I am eager to see where this series goes.

3.75 Stars - Great Story
The story had me hooked from the very beginning, I love Mafia romances and this didn’t disappoint.
I got the Kindle version and there were some pretty big formatting issues, and I struggled with the way the conversation formatting changed throughout the story. Overall though, I enjoyed the story and thought it was a solid Mafia romance and look forward to the next book.

The story had great flow and character development. The plot centered around Nico’s obsession of Mae. The kind of instant attraction where you immediately feel it and can’t get the person out of your mind no matter what you do. The danger, power, control and obsession provides all the making of a perfect mafia story. The added element of a stalker gave it the extra wow factor for me. I enjoyed learning the characters back stories and motivations through the dual POV. The banter between the characters was done nicely especially the Moretti brothers. Looking forward to the next one in the series. This book is perfect for anyone who enjoys mafia, power, found family, instant attraction and morally grey MMC.

This mafia romance was a slow burn. The first half of the book really created the mood. The majority of spice and action didn't happen until the last half of the book. I loved the banter between Nico and his brothers. My favorite exchange between Dante and Nico being:

hospital disinfectant while they stitch your jaw shut.”
I loved Mae's innocence and gentle nature. I wished there was more background information on her. I also loved Nico's intensity and possessiveness. So if you want a possessive, protective MMC and a sweet innocent FMC, this will be an enjoyable read for you.
I am not a fan of the way this book is written. Short lines/thoughts and double spacing between them is a struggle for me to read. I'm old school and need complete sentences and actual paragraphs. There are some editing issues and continuity gaps, but it wasn't so prolific that I couldn't finish the book.
The ending was perfection and I hope that Matteo's story is next.

Mae and Nico are so good together. She is so sweet and innocent. He is the hard enforcer who only softens for her. The best kind of story and characters to love. I love joyed to see how their story and relationships played out slowly over time. I really enjoyed the other brothers as well. Can’t wait to see where their stories take them.
The story begins making you think this would take you down a certain mafia path and changes it up. I loved the change of path. The unhinged and mental aspect was a nice difference. Touch her and die is always one of my favorite to read.
This was a good story and great beginning for a debut author! I can’t wait to see how the rest of the series continues. Check this out!

Mae owned a spa on the edge of two mafia families territories one a late evening after work she cut though a dark alley look the many times before but tonight a man stepped out of the shadows to try to attack her the next thing another man appeared and pullEd the man off of her he run away and she was left with her rescuer he quickly walked away after making sure she was ok
Nico waited for her to walk home and he followed her to make sure she got home safely the next day to sat outside her place of work just watching he was drawn to her not sure why but he felt protective of her then one day he went inside and asked for a massage and that’s when the story really starts
This is a new author and I really enjoyed the story I look forward to book 2 I would recommend her

This book grabbed me from the very beginning and held me in its grasp long after the end. It’s full of so many micro tropes that I love that I just couldn’t out it down. Nico and Mae were perfect complements to each other. Mae is sweet and soft. Nico is hardened and violent. But for her he’s so much more. He’s possessive and protective and fully feral for her. But he’s also gentle with her. It made their connection so endearing. And their chemistry that much more intense. And the family aspect warmed my heart so much. Watching things develop between them made me swoon and blush and everything in between. And that ending felt like the best way to wrap this up while leaving me craving the next book in the series.

The Enforcer's Good Girl had me right from the start with the family mafia hook. Gotta love bad boys that stick together.
Mae is very meek to Nico's strong personality. Opposites attract and they attract in spectacular fashion.
It's obsession at first sight for Nico when he rescues Mae. Some light stocking ensues, lol. And who doesn't love a fictional man who will claim you at first sight.

The book needs editing really badly. One word paragraphs. One sentence paragraphs and a lot of them. People talking and one person's comment rolls right into the other person and you don't know who said what. Maybe the book uploaded incorrectly but a line will stop half way across page and then jump to the next line to finish. Good characters and story but really hard to read. Needs a redo to correct some of the messiness.

This was such a fun, spicy read! The Enforcer’s Good Girl had that perfect mix of danger, chemistry, and a protective hero that keeps you turning the pages.
I really enjoyed the dynamic between the characters and watching their connection build throughout the story. There were plenty of intense moments, but also enough emotion to keep me invested.
A great choice if you’re looking for a steamy romance with a little edge!

Oh my. Nico is definitely a possessive alpha male. The way he protected Mae. The way he watched her and she became more than someone to protect. His obsession. That was so hot. Mae was so sweet. But together they set the world on fire. I loved how he was so passionate about keeping her safe, but so gentle when he was with her. I loves the chaos and the suspense. The way these two crashed together. Absolutely loved devouring this one.

As someone who reads mostly mafia romance books the expectation for this was up there. This book well exceeded my expectations. And to be a debut novel too. The story flowed well and was easy to read. The characters were very well written. The banter was absolutely entertaining. I hope there are more books with the other brothers.

I enjoyed reading this book and liked that it wasn't a typical mafia romance. The family is part of the Mafia but the story of Nico and Mae had someone else after her. I appreciated how all the brothers welcomed Mae as soon as they knew how important she was to Nico. Great story and I'm starting book 2 now.

The Mafia Romance I didn't know I needed!
Lila is an amazing writer and this book was a great read. She built a world of danger and safety that had me in my feels from the start. It was the perfect book to get me out of my reading slump.

The Enforcer's Good Girl is book one of The Moretti Hearts Series.
Nico is more standoffish and enclosed than his brothers. That is until he found his person in Mae. You can see how his personality did a complete reversal. He finally had someone he could love and felt very protective over. The story gets more intense as the story progresses.

An intense and gripping mafia suspense with great characters. Nico Moretti is obsessed with sweet and innocent Mae and is determined to protect her from a stalker. I really liked Nico and his possessiveness. The banter with his brothers was so much fun. I also loved how the relationship with Mae slowly grew into something beautiful. Looking forward to the next book.

Good book. enjoyed this one. He is the enforcer for the family, no feelings just kill. She is a innocent girl that owns a spa. She is in a wrong place when she meets him but they both have some feelings that neither of them can figure out. There is also another stalker in this story. Need to read to find out
