And what is she willing to give up to save her world?
Katie is an author residing in Oklahoma with her husband, son and three troublesome cats. As a life-long bird and animal nerd (yes, she’s the friend who everyone sends bird pics to asking what species it is), most of her books contain wildlife, animal companions and details of the natural world.

When she’s not writing, she’s reading, hiking, gardening, birding, or daydreaming about even more story ideas.
What do you mean it's already release day? I can't believe this is the end. The final book in Ava's story has my heart. I poured my whole soul into Triumph and it is my absolute favorite of the three. It is raw, emotional, funny and heartfelt. I hope that you all enjoy the conclusion to the Daughter of the Earth trilogy. 💜
I have never cried so much in my life. What a way to finish a series. I was sobbing so hard. I even read a few parts to my teen daughter, and she was sobbing too.
It was so good, but also heartbreaking and painful at times. I really, really wish I had reread the first two books in the series before starting the final one, but honestly, the ending was everything.
I am talking heart stopping, high stakes. No softly, softly here. No, everything is going to be ok. This was an end of battle where it could go either way. Loss, blood, and pain. I was scared out of my mind almost from the get go, and I did not relax the whole way through.
The story had bumps and twists and turns, and some amazing, I mean OMG, moments where I was screaming no way, I did not see that coming. There were small pockets of downtime where I could breathe and try to relax my clenched hands and put my heart back together. You also get some fantastic interactions and spice that fits the story but never overshadows it.
This was a start to end, story driven series, and the spice was a lovely bonus. The love in this book comes in many forms, from family to your other half, to friendship, and more beyond that. There is also some shocking character growth that had me completely dazed.
I loved it. I am struggling to even explain how much I enjoyed this series, but for me it got better with each book. I think those who love Dungeons & Dragons would really enjoy this, and also those who love more story driven fantasy books with great world building and so much action that you will never get bored.
I genuinely loved this finale. It felt big, emotional, and so earned. The stakes were high, but what really got me was the heart behind it all. You can feel everything these characters have been carrying, and watching it all come to a head was incredibly satisfying.
The relationships really shine in this one with the tenderness, the loyalty, the shared history. It made the emotional moments hit even harder. And that ending? I was completely locked in.
Such a strong and heartfelt way to close out the trilogy. I’m honestly going to miss this world.
(NOTE: I'm an ARC READER for this book, meaning I received an advanced copy from the author before publication - THERE ARE NO SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW)
I literally just closed my Kindle having finished the book and let me tell you something...K.M. Gordon will take your hand and lead you through your own Journey to the Elderoak (IYKYK) and bring you through the end with tears in your eyes and happiness in your heart. This series wrenched me apart and healed me many times over, and I feel like a kitsune of K.M.'s literary mastery. Every character felt like discovering a new friend, and I am only devastated that this is the end of our journey together. I cannot wait for more of K.M. Gordon's works in the future, and I cannot recommend this series enough (possibly a box of tissues and a glass of wine too). The journey truly is the friends we make along the way, and I am so glad and grateful this little world gets to live on my bookshelf forever. ♥️
I’m feeling so many emotions right now. Receiving my ARC copy filled me with excitement—and now, finishing this story, my heart aches knowing it’s over. What an absolute whirlwind of a book. Wow, wow, wow. I’m truly going to miss these characters.
I think everyone longs for a group of people like this crew. It was such a joy to dive deeper into their relationships and dynamics. I am OBSESSED with Raine and Ava’s relationship—Raine had me giggling the entire time with all of his little quips. I was never bored for a single moment. The book started guns blazing and stayed strong throughout.
K.M. had me feeling everything while reading this. She really puts you through it, but in the best possible way—it only makes the payoff stronger. While I’m sad to say goodbye to these characters, the heart of this story is incredibly moving and comforting.
As someone who knows loss, the way this book portrays grief resonated deeply with me. Grief isn’t linear, and at some point you learn to live alongside it, knowing it can hit you at any moment. The constant reminder throughout this story is that the only way through grief is through it. Even when you feel like giving up, you can overcome anything by drawing strength from within yourself and from the people around you. Lean on them. Let others help you, even when you want to carry the burden alone.
Having read the previous two books and watching these character arcs and storyline unfold—made this one, in my mind, the strongest of the series. I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed it, and I wish I could be at that table with everyone at the end. My heart absolutely burst for Ava in that moment.
I’m so grateful I stumbled upon that TikTok that introduced me to this author and this story. Bravo.
I am so thankful to have received an ARC copy of Triumph of the Elderoak! This was an amazing book to end the series. It had action, laughter, love and everything you could want in a fantasy romance series. I laughed, I cried and I cheered. I really loved these characters and the found family. KM Gordon will take you on an amazing journey, I wanna live in Eorhan.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of Triumph of the Elderoak and I have to say I finished this book in 3 days because I was so hooked.
K.M. Gordon has this incredible ability to make you feel like you are right alongside Ava. You feel her struggles and her triumphs. You feel Casimir’s love and passion. You laugh right alongside Raine like you’ve been best friends for years.
The spice is so well done 10/10 The character development is also 10/10 The world building is another 10/10
One thing I love about this series in particular is the relationship with animals, from their individual personalities to the way she describes their colors, shapes and sounds. I like to believe that Ava and I used to be coworkers studying different species, recording our observations.
I also appreciate the wonderful array of relationships, orientations and pronouns through out this series. It’s so refreshing to get that especially in the fantasy genre.
If you need a new series to sink your teeth into I highly recommend this trilogy. ❤️
(I received an ARC-advanced reader copy- of this book from the author)
First off, thank you-endlessly to author K.M. Gordon for the opportunity to read your book early!
From the moment I saw this trilogy pitched on Tiktok I knew I HAD to read it, and boy am I glad I did. Books 1 & 2 were incredible, but this one, book 3, Triumph of the Elderoak-perfection.
I am a giant ball of emotions as I just completed the story and all are good. I couldn't have pictured where this story was going to take me, the connection I would form with its characters, and the desire to never put it down never left.
The banter, the animal companions getting more time, THE SPICE, the friendships and heart aches, the twists and turns and just EVERYTHING was so wonderfully executed this trilogy has earned its own shelf on my favorite bookcase because it is OUTSTANDING!!!
I cried and laughed, scooted to the edge of my seat and stress snacked, shouted to the void, and experienced all emotions I possibly could have while reading. If you're looking for something to remind you that healing is not linear, that nobody defines what pain does to you EXCEPT YOU, and also while falling in love with so many characters this book is for you! (DON'T FORGET TO READ 1 & 2 FIRST!!)
K.M. Gordon, you wrote gold here and I am so lucky to have found your stories. Thank you for pouring your heart into them, I will cherish the characters I met in these pages forever.
From the very start, this story grabs hold of your heart and refuses to let go. It’s packed with action, heartbreak, and deeply heartwarming moments, taking readers on an emotional roller coaster from beginning to end. The series doesn’t shy away from exploring grief and trauma, but it also shows the power of healing and resilience in such a meaningful way.
The author writes with a style that feels almost magical…whenever I read her books, it’s as if she takes my hand and transports me straight into another world. The characters, the emotions, and the stakes all feel so vivid that it’s impossible not to get completely immersed.
This trilogy was absolutely amazing. Each book easily earns five stars in my opinion. I’m genuinely sad that my time in this world is over, but I’m also incredibly excited to see what this author creates next.
A more comprehensive review for my eARC is on its way- but oh my goodness. What a conclusion to this series. I so deeply love all of the characters. I felt so MANY emotions reading this book. Forever grateful I stumbled upon this series. I will re-read this entire trilogy over and over again.
What an EPIC conclusion to this trilogy!!! So beautifully written, I never wanted it to end. Did not want to say goodbye to these characters. AVA is #1 badddyyyyyy🔥🔥 K.M Gordon did her thingggg!!!
I just finished my ARC copy of this book and I'm leaving my honest thoughts and review.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book! There weren’t any dull moments in this book, it just kept moving forward! I really liked the further interpersonal development between all the characters, especially Raine and Maeryn. I really liked her character! Also liked Ava and Thorne having more brother-sister moments in this 3rd installment. And yes, I liked Jareth too 🤣 I would say the book overall was 4 stars, but the ending really bumped it up to a 5. I was engrossed and, yes, I cried. Very well done!
Well this book had me crying and sobbing... The story telling really is phenomenal, I love this style of writing! It pulls you in. It's not overly done, it doesn't drag.. it's just the right pace.
This book is action filled and we get to travel to more of the kingdoms and around the world, meeting more people and creatures. Going through the desert and fighting the unknown kinda reminded me of Indiana Jones or Jumanji. There is a lot of gore and war happening and it is a proper fantasy story! The war at the end had me praying to everything that is holy - it has to end well and no way would Ava die! I loved that part as much as I hated it.
One of the things I love about these books is that no one is annoying - everyone knows what they need to do and they don't overly fight against it; they might not like some of it, but they know what must be done so they do it. I love Ava's character development so much - she's strong and can handle herself. Yes, she's anxious but she does what she must and she doesn't shy away from action. I like that she Isnt some scared damsel who needs everyone else do the work for her - it's refreshing! And yes Cas is overbearing but is not in her way.
Getting to read from Raine's pov and getting a deeper glance into his character was a pleasant surprise! I adore this man - the banter he brings is hilarious. But the loyalty and love and determination in his character is equally as strong, he really is an amazing character. All of them are, all of them have pasts they don't shy away from and we get few glimpses of.. I love the depth of the characters.
Cas's father really is POS and so is his brother but Jareth's story about his soulbound absolutely broke me, poor man! And towards the ending ... oh my god.
Raine and Maeryn are adorable and to watch them dance around each other and get to know one another because of the bond was so cute! She's a stunning badass, not afraid to fight alongside the gang. Watching their story unfold and get a happy end made my day, they're so cute!
I hope we get more books from this world.

I would like to thank the author, K. M. Gordon, for providing me with an ARC of A Triumph of the Elder Oak.
I really enjoyed this trilogy as a whole, but book three is my favourite of the series. There was so much emotion poured into this story that it became very hard to put down. And when I say that, I mean not just the epic battle scenes or the moments of love and happiness, but also the way this book dives deep into grief and trauma. We see what the characters are carrying because of the war, but also things that happened long before it, and even things they are still facing as devastation closes in around them.
I really appreciated how much time we spend understanding where these characters are coming from and how their perspectives have been shaped. The story does such a good job of showing that healing is not linear and that talking through pain and trauma matters. That was something I really, really loved about this book.
Casimir and Ava’s relationship is in full bloom here, and I honestly just found them so cute together. I’m glad they were able to find tender moments in between the chaos. ♥️
We also get Rain’s point of view in this book, and I was so happy about that because he has always been one of my favourite characters in the series. Getting a deeper look into his mind was such a treat. While he is funny, loyal, carefree, and friendly, there is still lingering trauma there, and I really enjoyed seeing that explored more.
Overall, I truly loved this series, and this book felt like a strong and emotional conclusion. It was an emotional roller coaster, very hard to put down, and honestly, I’m a little sad to have finished it. I can already see myself wanting to reread this entire series in the future or even listen to the audiobooks. I genuinely enjoyed my time with this story 🌿🤎⚔️🐻
Thanks to the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
At first, it took me a while to get started with this book and I was confused because I voraciously tore my way through the first two books in less than a day each. I didn’t get it - there was action but I just couldn’t get into it in the first few chapters…. Then I realized that it wasn’t the story, it was me - I was sad to finish the series and was trying to prolong it. I didn’t want my time in Eorhan to be over 😢 So, when I realized this was the case, I paused for a bit to come back to it when I was ready. (Honestly, I still wasn’t ready but I’m nothing if not committed to reviewing my ARCs on time!)
Overall Triumph was so emotional 😭 I loved how Cas and Ava’s relationship continued to develop while trying to fend off the war. I also liked the deeper we got to see of Raine’s personality, especially since he has been one of my favorite characters from the start! We also got a lot of development and depth from other characters as well. Plus I was not expecting the twist with the villains 🤯
This was a beautiful, emotional, and triumphant (see what I did there? 😉) end to the series! Pleaseeee write more in this world! It can’t be the end 😭
Thank you so much from the author for sending me an ARC! I loved books 1 and 2, read them both this month and applied as soon as I could for the ARC. Now I need to get myself some physical copies for my shelf!
I love that the main female character is only a year younger than me (I’m 33). There has been so much character development between the first book to the last book. We get to watch the characters share their grief, and grow from it. Which I feel like is hard to tantalize because so many books mention something bad happening and we never hear about it again so you don’t really see it continue to affect them.
Cas and Ava’s relationship is just pure love, respect and recognition. 🥺 I had tears in my eyes toward the end, after the battle. A huge feat for me because I’m a little apathetic at times, but when I get attached to characters I don’t like to see them experience anguish. Author, I need more Maeryn and Raine. THANK YOU FOR NOT KILLING THE COMEDIC RELIEF!
Sorry.
My favorite quote from the book was “Because to be understood was to be loved. And loved she was.” Just perfect.
While I absolutely loved book 1, book 2 was very much lacking for me. The romance wasn't romancing, it felt like whiplash from antipathy to love. The writing style was a bit obnoxious in book 2 and 3, constantly overexplaining, bordering into corny and too much tell instead of show especially the relationship progression between Ava and Cas. Now to Book 3: still Campy, still overexplaining. I struggled through this quite a bit. What was done excellent were Raine's chapters. Such a compelling character. His love story could have been epic and I don't for the life of me understand, why the author didn't invest more time in the second romance she set up. The book has less than 500 pages, so to me, it feels like a lost opportunity, especially because the set-up was great and the snippets we got were way better executed than the main couple.
The last battle and the ending were exciting and very emotional, which I did like.
It could have been an amazing series, as it was, it's solid middle ground, with one shining star that is the character of Raine.

Well that was.... a rollercoaster of emotions and a deserving ending of such an incredible series! I cried, I laughed, I winced, I felt heartbroken, I cried more, I felt love and fear and anxiousness and it was just amazing! The world building expanded and I love the new parts of the world and to get to know some characters better. All the characters are so great and I fell even more for the animals. While some people you just hate wholeheartedly, there are others who maybe are more than meets the eye. And some people you get to hate even more than before. This book was a little bit more plot driven but there is still plenty of romance in it. The adventurous parts were really great and reminded me of my favourite movies and games. The plot twists were great and I screamed in disbelief at some points.
I am so happy to have discovered and read this series ♡ I am in love with Ava, Cas and their loved ones. And I think Aro is my favourite ♡ next to Cas of course but some could argue they are so much one and the same they count as one 😄
4.5/5 ⭐️ Thank you to the author for providing this ARC read 🫶🏻
This was such a fulfilling ending to a series I find very cozy and wholesome, and it has easily become one of my top comfort reads.
A short summary of my thoughts on a couple characters:
Raine: his kindness and sass has made him a favorite character of mine, he deserves the world and I’m excited for any future works that make revolve around him
Remy: my heart i love him so much and that’s all im going to say😭
Ava & Casimir: I love how playful and smitten they are with eachother, Casimir is such a teddy bear and I love that for Ava
Jareth: his past is gut wrenching and if there is any future books with him in it i hope he finds peace and has a good redemption arc/happily ever after. i’m thankful for what he did in the end, but man he is an ass
I had a feeling what the twist was going to be, and I think the author did a good job at hinting at it prior to the reveal without giving too much away. I also loved the journey through the cave/crypt, I just love D&D-like puzzles/traps.
Triumph Of The Elderoak is book three in K.M. Gordon’s Daughter Of The Earth Trilogy and let me tell you this book lived up to all my expectations.
The authors writing is absolutely flawless. The characters and creatures come to life wrapping you up in the magic of the story so that you feel like you are right there with Ava on this epic quest with her found family.
The conclusion to Ava’s story, everything she’s been through, and how much her character grew through each book is just epic and she definitely earned her title as a fierce female.
I seriously LOVED every page of this book and I have so many details and scenes I want to share but since Triumphant of the Elderoak is a new release I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone because this story is just pure magic and you must read it.
I demand it 🤭
But really I’ve now read the entire Daughter Of The Earth trilogy and I can absolutely 100% say these books & the characters are some of my all time favorites.
This will forever be a series that I always recommend for anyone looking for their new favorite romantasy.
Im so glad I waited until this 3rd book released so I could read the series in one go without any spoilers.
I had been so excited to read these books and I was not disappointed.
This series hit me right in the feels as I sit here crying at the end of the last book, these are good tears I guess, sad for all the character lost but also the warm this group of people, of family give off.
The writing was the type I enjoy, the story was not too complicated and easy to follow, like yeah It took time for some things to get revealed but thats normal for a book like this.
Also the way the trauma, grief and healing was written was beautiful, as it was so relatable and real as everyone deals with it differently.
Honestly the found family, the soul bonds, the friendships, relationships and the animals all of it was just so soul and heart-warming. It was written so well!
Definatly one of my fav reads!! Highly recommended!
I honestly don’t even know where to start with Triumph of the Elderoak. This book completely wrecked me—in the best way possible. I had to put it down more than once just to catch my breath because the emotions hit so hard. There were moments where I just sat there staring at the page, fully overwhelmed.
K.M. Gordon did something really special with this ending. It felt earned, not rushed, and every character’s journey came full circle in a way that felt both satisfying and heartbreaking. You can tell how much care went into wrapping up the story, and it made saying goodbye that much harder.
This series has been such a comfort and an escape for me, and finishing it honestly felt like losing a place I didn’t realize meant so much until it was over. I’m so sad to see it end, but also so grateful for the experience.
Without a doubt, this is one of my all-time favorite series—and this final book just sealed that for me.
I absolutely love this series , Ava & Casimir are just the perfect mix of cozy vibes with the high stakes and spiciness.
I could not set this story or the first two books down , any free moment I had I was immersed in their world.
The death of Remy the hobgoblin who Ava befriended while trapped and being tortured in book one hit me the hardest out of all the deaths.
Aside from Ava’s death (temporarily at that) I cried probably 6 or 7 times reading this book.
The ending is just so perfect
The epilogue really gave them the PERFECT happy ending you could wish for.
And the reveal that “Henry/Andras” was actually a literal GOD named Lomos , mind blowing. Him being banished back to his realm and Ava meeting the earth mother was so vividly written.
I 100% would recommend anyone read this series
To K.M. Gordon
Thank you for the laughs , the tears and love I felt while reading your work ❤️🔥🥹

I got the Chance to read this book in advance and I'm so thankful. But I'm German so please excuse my poor English.😅 It's the third book in the series and the last one at that, it picks up the Cliffhanger from the second book nicely. I enjoyed how the relationships between the group and also to others deepen. The main Couple is so damn cute but I liked how Rains relationships began to bloom. Now to the main Story, it went down quiet quick but not in a bad way. There are some revaltion I didn't see coming, but they made sense and I loved it, I didn't have one chapter which bored me thanks to the three different POVs. The Ending is beautiful and heartbreaking in one. But I have to warn you there was more than one scene where I had tears in my eyes, because of different reasons. So be aware and enjoy.
I received this book as an ARC reader and it did not disappoint.
K.M Gordon has done it once again with the latest book of this series: Triumph of the Elderoak. The third installment of this series shows how the soulbond between Ava and Casimir has grown to where you can get a little envious wanting that same kind of love. Also giving more of a backstory to Raine and pulling him into a main character Mae’s you want more.
The story told leading up to the war has you turning the page because you need to know what happens next. The cliffhangers and plot twists will have you gasping; at one point I even loudly exclaimed that I did not see that even happening. This story will make you laugh, make you cry, and make you hope for the best outcome.
I loved this series from the first book and I hope there’s more to come.
I received an ARC copy of this book and I am so thrilled to have been able to read this trilogy. K.M Gordon’s world-building and character development is elite. I want to highlight that she left zero stones unturned and I am so happy to have finished this book knowing that there aren’t any unanswered questions.
This book had me on the edge of my seat. There are so many different ways the author could have led the story, but the ending was beautiful with some unexpected elements tied in. The characters relationships, the tie-in of their animals, the banter, the action, everything was laid out meticulously so that you really feel like you’re inside this world that K.M. Gordon has created. I am so excited for everything she writes in the future. I am so happy with how this story ended, but also heartbroken that it is over.
Sadly, the final instalment in this series does not live up to the first two books. For me, this came down to the writing. In particular, the dialogue in second half the books lacks subtlety, rushing through high stakes thoughts/feelings that you would expect to be traced throughout the series.
The unfortunate byproduct of this is that most characters are stripped of their substance. It honestly felt like it was written by someone else. The best way to describe it is:
1. A series of formulaic exchanges: "I have this series concern/feeling" + "said thought is a barrier to our goals for this reason" = "high-stakes turmoil is magically dissolved through a 2-second response from scene partner." 2. As described by another reviewer "hallmark meets fantasy".
Honestly, I would love it if the author revisited this book to address. The significant shift in quality is notable... but the series deserves to be salvaged.
Minn’s rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️ Character growth : 5/5 Plot: 4.5/5 World building 4.5/5
The final book in the Daughter of the Earth trilogy. I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC for Triumph of the Elderoak and am now just posting my review. This finale had everything I want in a fantasy novel. The magic system was immersive, and deeply connected to the world itself, making every reveal and use of magic feel meaningful and powerful.
The character growth throughout the story was one of the biggest highlights for me. Every character faced difficult choices, loss, and sacrifice, and watching them evolve made the emotional moments hit even harder. And the animal companions completely stole my heart. They added so much warmth, loyalty, and emotion to the story, while also feeling genuinely important to the characters’ journeys.
This series is an absolute must-read for fantasy lovers.
