Julie Clarke was born a boy in the 50s in central Scotland. From a very early age she knew she was different from other boys, but growing up in the 50s and 60s was not conducive to discussing feelings of gender difference and for many years Julie didn't even know there was a medical term for her she was transsexual.
What a brave story! While I loved reading this story, it wasn't as well written as it could have been. So, I would highly recommend this book to everyone.
I read this over Easter. I agree with the review below. It was interesting to see how lonely a transsexual must feel. An interesting topic to get an insight into. However the writing was repetitive and drawn out in places.
