In the quiet space between despair and grace, one woman discovers the love that never lets go.
Between Shadow and Light is a poetic spiritual memoir — a tender, unflinching journey through darkness, loss, and the slow awakening of the soul to divine love. Told with lyrical honesty and emotional depth, it chronicles a woman’s transformation from brokenness to belonging, from silence to the sacred conversation that restores her heart.
Haunted by pain and drawn toward the mystery of God, the narrator begins to see that every shadow hides a trace of light — that every wound can become an opening where love enters. Her journey unfolds through vivid dreams, whispered prayers, and moments of breathtaking encounter with Jesus, the Eternal Bridegroom who calls her by name.
What begins as a cry for help becomes an intimate dialogue between a wounded soul and the One who heals. Through repentance, surrender, and the rediscovery of grace, she learns that divine love is not distant or abstract — it is personal, relentless, and astonishingly tender. It is a love story unlike any not of romance, but of redemption.
Every chapter invites readers to slow down, to breathe, to listen for the still, small voice within their own shadows. Through poetic reflections, dream sequences, and the quiet ache of prayer, Between Shadow and Light becomes more than a memoir — it becomes a mirror, inviting the reader to encounter their own longing for God and to recognize His longing for them.
This is a book for those who have been broken, those who have searched for meaning, and those who have ever whispered a prayer into the dark. It is for the ones who have doubted, fallen, wept, and wondered if love could truly find them again.
Woven through its pages are themes of spiritual awakening, divine intimacy, healing from trauma, and the interplay between darkness and light in the soul. Blending poetry, mysticism, and heartfelt honesty, the book offers a quiet refuge for anyone longing to experience the tenderness of Jesus’ love and the transforming beauty of grace.
Through all the tears, silence, and mystery, one truth remains Love never stops pursuing.
In the end, Between Shadow and Light is not simply a story of faith — it is the story of a soul’s awakening to Love Himself.
For readers drawn to works like The Return of the Prodigal Son by Henri Nouwen, He and I by Gabrielle Bossis, or The Interior Castle by St. Teresa of Ávila, this book offers a modern yet timeless conversation between heaven and the human heart.
Between Shadow and Light invites you to listen for the voice that still whispers within every “You are mine.”
We never wrote an "editors' bio" for the back of the Memory, Prophecy and Fantasy books but, if we had, it would have said something like: Phil does this stuff at times when he's not immersed in the results and strategies of media companies. Sarah does this when she's not running two boys backwards and forwards and helping with homework. They run Clive Barker's archive and have been writing about his work online for the last fifteen years at the Revelations website. They finally got around to publishing volume 1 of their archive-based series of books in early 2009 after ten years of research and interviews. Volumes 2 and 3 followed, along with Beneath the Surface of Clive Barker's Abarat, The Painter, Creature and the Father of Lies (Clive's collected non-fiction) and contributions to new editions of Cabal and The Midnight Meat Train. They are currently writing and publishing Clive's Imaginer art series and next up are studio-approved books about the making of the first Hellraiser movie and Nightbreed... In 2016 they launched The Clive Barker Archive site, with plans in hand to create a permanent public gallery space in London.
