I'm a (closet) lover of billionaire books. Add in a secret baby who is being raised by her aunt until she finds the one night stand father of her dead sister? The synopsis hooked me. As much as a I do like these types of books, I do dread when the reveal is stretched out for the majority of the book. I was pleasantly surprised the baby/cat was out of the bag around the 20-30% mark of the book. The rest of the book centers around Adam and Mia working through their feelings for each other and how to move forward with a very adorable baby Rose. Both have had life changing experiences during their childhood that left them with emotional scars and trust issues.

Although this is the 2nd book in a series, it can easily be read as a standalone. The characters from book 1 make an appearance as Adam and Mia travel to Texas for their wedding. And I imagine the next book will be about the other neighbor/movie star.

I received a copy of this story through NetGalley from Harlequin for an honest review.

Moonlight Beach recluse Adam Chase is about to get some news that will change his world.

Mia D’Angelo needs to be certain Adam really is a good man before she drops the bomb on him about having a daughter after a one night stand with Mia’s sister Anna. She needs to be sure he can be trusted raising Rose on his own. In order to get to know Adam better, Mia befriends him and they go out on a couple dates. Mia enjoys spending time with Adam. She can see why Anna fell for him.

When Mia realizes what a wonderful man Adam is, she starts to fall for him. But when the secret about the baby comes out, Mia fears she has lost Adam for good. He doesn’t like secrets. He has decided it would be best if Rose comes to live with him immediately. Mia can stay there too until Rose is used to Adam. But then she must leave.

How will Mia be able to live in the same house with Adam without falling deeper in love with him? Will Adam forgive Mia for keeping a secret from him?

I really enjoyed Mia and Adam’s story. This is one of those books that will stick with you long after you finish reading it.

Mia is taking care of her sister's baby from her one night stand with Adam Chase. And now it's time to find her little Rose's father...but she wants to know that he's a worthwhile guy before handing over her niece. And she does meet Adam, and he is a nice guy and quite reclusive. In fact, she kind of falls for him a little, but she has to tell him about his daughter. And once she does, she breaks any and all trust she had with him. But Rose isn't so accepting of her father, which prompts Adam to invite Mia to live with them to help Rose adjust. Adam of course is still very attracted to Mia, but not exactly ready to forgive her dishonesty. The more time he spends with her and Rose though, the less it matters and the more he realizes she's a perfect piece to their family.

I liked how this started and the premise of it...how Adam and Mia sort of started a relationship while Mia was hiding this big secret. But she does tell him and this breaks Adam's trust in her. I also appreciate that he didn't ever attempt to separate Rose and Mia even though he kind of had every right to and he wasn't exactly happy with her after her lies. In fact, Mia had a tendency to get on my nerves with her acting like she had every right to be caring for Rose instead of being grateful to Adam for letting her stick around. It was funny to see a baby in one of these stories who doesn't instantly warm up to the new daddy and how this was used to keep the H/h in close proximity - cleverly done. And I liked the coming full circle with Adam investigating Mia for the same reasons that Mia lied to Adam initially...I just wish HE had realized that he owed her an apology for not understanding her actions. I guess the only real negative here was that it didn't wholly feel like Adam had fallen for Mia for herself. I was still a bit in doubt. He clearly loved Rose and it kinda felt like he saw Mia as an added bennie. I kinda felt the love, but not sure about it.

Good read. I had an issue with Mia always feeling she was in the right and Adam had to be wrong... But without the angst, there wouldn't be a story and I did enjoy. Baby Rose is a hoot!

My Thoughts:

Mia is in charge of taking care of her sister's baby, Rose, after she passes away. She decides to go check out Rose's father, Adam. When they meet, distractions keep the truth from coming out as to why she's really there. Pretty soon the two of them are kissing and seeing each other, but before anything goes further Adam discovers the real reason why Mia's there. He's upset, naturally, but there's a lot for them to work out concerning the baby--his baby. As they work through all the issues, their feelings never dissipate. Can they find common ground when it comes to Rose and come to terms with the deeper connection between them?

The Billionaire's Daddy Test was an honest and enjoyable read. There's so much at stake with the baby and family, so your feels are all over the place. The part that got to me the most was how Adam and Rose interacted--how the trust was built between father and daughter. The romance was completely sweet. It was great how it started before Adam knew who Mia was, and then how it started up after knowing about Rose. Such a sweet story by Charlene Sands--definitely interested in the rest of the series!

My Rating: Very Good

The Billionaire's Daddy Test

This story was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review by Net Galley.

Mia D'Angelo is on a mission, she needs to find out more about the mystery father of her niece. Her sister died during child birth and named said father on her death bed. It is up to Mia to find him and introduce him to the daughter he doesn't know that he has.

Adam Chase is a loner, he lives a very secluded life on the beach in his high tech house. He has all the toys and as an architect his house is outfitted with all the newest gadgets. He is really good with things but not so much with people.

Mia and Adam meet one night on the beach and surprisingly he is drawn to her, however when he finds out why she is really interested in him, his emotional shackles go right back up again.

I thought this story was okay. It kept my interest but did not wow me. I thought the characters were well developed and felt Adam's frustration when baby Rose took awhile to warm up to him.

Mia moves into the mansion to allow for a smooth transition and give the baby and Adam time to get used to one another. They sexual attraction is still there but the trust is gone. Will Adam be able to get passed it? Read and find out. I would rate this story a 3.5/5.

"2.5 out of 5 stars. Four months after losing her sister, Mia finally finds the man who fathered her niece and goes about letting him know that he is a father. Yet her way of meeting Adam is a bit unusual, because by the time her reveal about his daughter happens they are halfway through their second date. Opps! From that point on, Adam has a difficult time in trusting Mia, but Mia is an intricate part of Rose’s life so they find a way to all work together, while living under one roof. Will Adam and Mia be able to trust each other enough to make this family setup work for them all or will their trust issues get in the way?

I tried so hard to like this novel but I just couldn’t get a good feel for it. Overall, it was an okay read."

Enjoyed the book but, it drug on a bit and took WAY too long for the baby to accept the hero (her daddy). HEA was rushed and it certainly didn’t have to be. Not sure it was worth the $ so if you didn’t read book 1; not sure I’d recommend it. I should have paid more attention to some reviews I’d read.

A child can bring two people together and can make one man eyes glisten with love.

This is the second installment in the Moonlight Beach Bachelors series and one that I read way too quickly. It felt like I had just started the book when it ended and what a beautiful ending. Mia knew that it was going to be hard to get to know her niece’s father because then that would mean that she couldn’t be with her precious baby. She had been taking care of Rose since her sister passed away and she knew it was only right for the baby’s dad to know that he had a child.

Adam was a man that loved being home and didn’t trust very easily but then Mia walked into his life and he saw things with a different eye. He really liked her so when she wanted to cook him dinner why not she could cook for him at his home. Mia was a woman with a purpose and that purpose was to investigate Adam and make sure that he was not a serial killer because if that was the case he would not know that he was a father. But he ended being a wonderful man that deserved to know that he had a four month old child but when to tell him that was now the problem.

When Adam finds out that he is a father he thinks the worst of Mia and ends up offending her and that was not very nice. She was just wanting to protect little Rose but what came as a surprise was what Rose did when he tried carrying her. Adam was so hurt because he couldn’t carry his own child but he had a plan it was just going to shock Mia.

I found myself wanting for these two characters to fall in love and have a happily ever after but that was not what happened at least not in the beginning. Adam didn’t trust anyone and I don’t blame him after hearing his story but with his attitude he was not going to get anywhere with Mia. Mia also needed to know what happened in his life and she ends up giving him space but in the end she falls in love with him. But in the end what costs them a wonderful relationship was Adam not confiding in her not letting her in.

The Billionaire’s Daddy Test was a great read. I thoroughly enjoyed the way the author ended this story with little Rose. There were a couple of surprises in this story that left me wanting more of Adam and his brother. The chemistry between Adam and Mia was sensual and passionate. I seeing how Adam and his family grew closer and how Adam tried to win his daughter’s heart.

I totally recommend this read!

Mia was out on the beach trying to meet Adam Chase, a rich architect recluse. Her sister Anna had confessed on her deathbed after her child was born that the baby's biological father was an architect named Adam Chase and it was a one night stand.

It had taken Mia a while to locate him as Anna had gotten back with her ex and he was crushed when they DNA did not match. Mia had a very low distrustful opinion on men based on her drunken womanizing father as well as the few short relationships she had experienced so she wanted to check out the baby's father before she told him and turned their baby over to him.

Adam had been badly burned by a woman he thought be loved. When he called her to try to work through things with her, his brother answered the phone. Ok, that answered that. He became very private and gave out nothing about himself.

Mia cut her foot on the beach and Adam carried her into his home to patch her up. Adam really liked Mia and wanted to get to know her, the chemistry was there. Although Mia was attracted to him, her focus was on getting an idea as to whether she should tell him about his daughter.

Nothing went as planned. Adam was taken with Kia and finally was getting her into bed when he fell over a toy in the hall. Real reality check. Mia told him about her sister, he remembered it, and wanted to see the baby ASAP and get a DNA test. He was pissed that Mia, the woman he was about to sleep with was acting as an undercover agent evaluating his ability to have a child.

The physical evidence was undeniable, the baby had his gray eyes and the same unique birthmark on the leg that he had. DNA took longer but the baby was his, was expected.

Adam was thrilled but the infant screamed every time he touched her. The baby went to everyone else but totally rejected Adam. Mia was bringing her to him morning and afternoon plus holding down her job until Adam decided that Kia would move in and help him learn what to do.

It took Adam a long time to realize that he saw Mia and the baby as a package and both he and Kia were trying to stay away from each other. Good read.

The Billionaire’s Daddy Test by Charlene Sands is the second book in her series Moonlight Beach Bachelor and is also a part of Harlequin Desires the Billionaires and Babes series. From the outset I loved this book. Mia D’Angelo is the owner of a unique hair salon for children. Her sister, who had a night stand, dies after giving birth. Mia takes over the responsibility of raising her niece Rose. On her deathbed, Mia’s sister shares some information about Rose’s father. This information sends Mia on the course of finding Rose’s father. Adam Chase is a billionaire recluse that lives in an oceanfront mansion. Once Mia discovers who Rose’s father is, she decides that she wants to vet him to see if he is father material. Sparks immediately fly between Mia and Adam when he aides her with an injured foot. Of course, once Adam discovers who Mia is and what her purpose of their initial visit was, he walks away from Mia but not his daughter Rose. The only problem he has is that his daughter won’t warm up to him. So he invites Mia into his house to help him care for his daughter. I loved both Adam and Mia. I loved how he opened up to Mia and learned how to love. The Billionaire Daddy Test is a perfect example of what the Harlequin Desire line is about. This was a fast read that I read in one sitting. I can’t wait to read the next installment in this series. I’d like to disclose that I received a copy of The Billionaire’s Daddy Test in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This was a sweet, light read, with very little drama. Mia found out when her sister died who fathered her niece that she is left to take care of. Her sister asked her before she died to find the baby's dad.
After taking care of the sweet baby for four months, there is no way she can just drop the baby off with the dad and walk away. She has to make sure he will be a good father to the baby she has already bonded with. Alex is a recluse and it took her 4 months to find out who he was, and where he lived. She went to the beach near his home. It just so happened that Alex was done swimming. and was walking out of the ocean, when Mia stepped on a glass bottle and cut her foot. He used his mad first aid skills to help her, and that's how the two met. She couldn't just drop a bombshell on him, like guess what? you're a dad. So she took a little while to get to know him first.

The baby didn't warm up to Alex right away, so Mia and the baby moved in with Alex. It was sweet how Mia helped the two bond. Alex was really upset. Every time he held little Rose she would cry. He cherished the time holding his daughter, when she fell asleep. Mia was slowly falling for the sweet, sexy, wealthy recluse. She knew Alex was a good man, and felt bad she didn't tell him right away. Once Alex found out, he didn't trust Mia. It took awhile for trust to be built back, and for the two to fall into Love.

Every once in a while you just need a sweet, light read, with no action, no bad guys, and very little drama. This book was perfect. It left my heart warm, and happy.

Trust is so hard to come by, again, after a deception.
I liked the story, it had a mix of heartbreak and heartwarming scenes. I think Mia went about finding the father of Rose in a wrong way. Trickery is never a good choice. A lot of the events that happen after that, she should have taken more of a responsibility of. Of course she didn't know of Adam's past, all the hurt he had gone through, that didn't help the matters at hand at all. The fact that little Rose had such a hard time adjusting to her father was heartbreaking for Adam. I really was rooting for him through the story, he is a goodhearted, caring, giving man.
I understood Mia's insecurity, fear of losing Rose, but - yes, there's a but - she should have been more understanding of the investigation, Adam did on her, I think that should have been expected and appreciated, it just shows the man cared about the situation.
The characters were well developed, I conflicts were solved on a meaningful and complete matter. And just like the cover of the book tell, there were many swoon worthy scenes in the story, that melts your heart. The attraction between Adam and Mia was obvious from the start, the heat was sizzling between them

Mia's sister had a one-night stand and got pregnant. Having lost her, Mia is now responsible of her niece and she wants to make sure the father is a good person before telling him about the baby. She befriends him and quickly understand why her sister fell for him and begins feeling the same herself.

However, when the truth comes out, Adam doesn't appreciate that she hid such an important thing from him. He wants to take care of Rose and Mia has to live with him until Rose gets used to it. Will Adam ever forgive her?

It was a really short and quick read. Less than two hundred pages. I didn't get into this book and I thought the events were happening really quickly. I couldn't connect to the characters very well, but Mia and Adam's story was enjoyable.

I still liked it and I would recommend this to those who like an easy read.

Love her stories. I become emotionally attached to her characters. We return to Moonlight Bay where hair salon entrepreneur Mia goes on a quest to check out her niece Rose’s daddy, a stoic loner, successful architect, Adam Chase. Both Adam and Mia have suffered heart tugging losses which affect their relationships with trusting others. It was fun to find out what is going on in the lives of Moonlight Bay neighbors, country singer Zane and Dylan too. A fast read. A wonderful series! I'm looking forward to movie star, Dylan's story!

Mia begins the search to find her father, after months, she find he lives close to her, on Moonlight Beach. She goes to the beach to check him out. He's a loner but goes to her rescue when she steps on broken glass. Interesting side story of the family dynamics between Chase, his brother and their mother.

I really loved this book. I liked how Mia decided to find her niece's Daddy. Even though both Adam and Mia are keeping secrets from each other they find a way to come together to be a family for baby Rose. When Adam finds out that Mia was hiding that he had a daughter he is able to overcome it and bring both of them into his life. It takes time for them both to see that they should all be together as a family but in the end it all works out.

Adam Chase is an intensely private man, values trust and is about to learn he is a father. Mia D'Angelo is raising her niece, Rose, after losing her sister. After finding out Adam is the father she begins a quest to see if he is the Father for Rose. The plot is real; however the secret between them will leave Adam wondering if he can ever trust Mia again. The Moonlight Beach Bachelors series is a must read for everyone especially Ms. Sands fans!

I enjoyed The Billionaire's Daddy Test by Charlene Sands. Mia D'Angelo's sister dies and tells Mia who the father of her four month old baby is. Mia goes looking for him but need to make sure he is a good man. The father is Adam Chase who is a Billionaire. The babies name is Rose. Rose doesn't take to Adam for a long time. Rose and Mia move in with Adam so Adam and Rose can bond. In the mean time things happen between Adam and Mia. A very good read.

For me this was a nice quick read! Adam didn't stand a chance of resisting Mia's sweet and feisty charm despite her deception. Little Rose melted everyone's heart especially her Daddy's! I found the baby reactions to certain people very realistic. You just never know what's in their little minds. There some funny moments that made this book all in all a very enjoyable read!
