I escaped my abusive ex only to fall for my fated mate… Too bad he's my ex’s older brother. And even worse? He’s my boss—and I just found out I’m pregnant with his child.
Kaia Sebastian Beaufort. Widowed CEO. My employer. My mate. Me? A broke, overworked intern trying to survive my ex's abusive shadow.
One touch. One bond. One night where I finally let my walls down. Until he found out who I used to belong to. and rejected me in front of his entire family. I left with nothing but bruises, heartbreak… and a secret.
Now I’m raising my son in a new name, building a new life. Until he storms into the emergency room, freezing when he sees his tiny replica lying on that gurney.
But the worst part? Someone wants me and my child dead— and the only way to survive is to return to the one man who ruined me.
Sebastian I thought I’d buried my heart with the car accident that took the one I loved. Until Kaia fell into my life. Soft lips, sharp tongue, and a scent that burned into my soul. I should’ve kept her at a distance. But I claimed her. Marked her. Broke her.
And then, in a glittering crowd, I saw her again—brighter, fiercer, unforgettable. She thinks I’ll let her run again. She thinks I’ll walk away from my mate. My woman. My son. No. I’ll destroy anyone who tries to take her from me— Even if I have to break every rule and risk my life.
Forbidden Baby with My Ex’s Brother begins the Alpha’s Forbidden Legacy series with a heartwrenching, passionate story of real love found at last… and the heartache of rejection from the one person who was fated for you.
Kaia and Sebastian’s story is compelling as we learn of Kaia’s abusive ex and the damage he’s done to her, both physically and emotionally. She escaped his abuse and ended up working for his older brother. Fate would have it that she is the mate of her ex’s brother, Sebastian… or she should be, but he rejected her in the cruelest fashion once learning who her ex turned out to be. She ran. Yet she took a part of Sebastian with her and recreated their lives under a different name in another location. Fate is a fickle thing at times, and once more, Kaia and Sebastian are brought back together when his (newly discovered) son and Kaia are in danger from an enemy that will stop at nothing to destroy this Alpha. Kaia has no choice but to trust the man she loves with their lives, their fate… but can she trust the man who turned his back on her once before not to do the same thing again?
I enjoyed everything about Forbidden Baby with My Ex’s Brother by Jennifer Eve. It’s intense in emotions, passion, and danger. Watching Sebastian open his closed-off heart to Kaia again was an emotional journey. His actions were wrong, and he knows it. Now he needs to regain her trust as he puts his life at stake to keep his family safe. I wouldn’t have blamed Kaia if she’d thumbed her nose at him and told Sebastian to get lost, too little, too late… but neither love nor fate works that way as the heart wants to be complete with that one right person. Their story is well-written, emotional, definitely passionate, and full of danger and intrigue. I would not hesitate to recommend this story to any reader who enjoys a riveting Shifter Romance, and a couple who do belong together despite their rocky start.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the author or the author’s team via Booksprout, and I sincerely thank them for their trust. It is my choice to leave a review, giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Sure it’s a wolf romance so by default everything is illogical, but dang, no braincells were used in the critical thinking process of the main characters. With special emphasis on the hero Sebastian. Seven years Kaia was gone and he didn’t think to activate his dumb “Plan X” while she was away so her and their son wouldn’t have needed to be in danger? Too busy yearning I suppose. And it’s wild to me that he never actually investigated the deaths of his wife and daughter. Wolfman just straight up accepted info that was given to him. It hard to imagine this man was the alpha and a ceo to boot when he couldn’t even make basic decisions. The entire book Sebastian was just a whole ick and way out of Kaia’s league.
I’m convinced that had the mate bond not been at play she wouldn’t have taken that fool back. She’s smart enough to find a cure for colon cancer so without the bond she would have been rational enough not to fall for whatever corny version of romance he was selling. Not to mention the fact that Sebastian voluntary chose and loved his first wife without the bond. You’re telling me he loved Kaia of his own free will? Be foreal. That bond is the cheat code and the “love” that came with it? Fake.
Spoilers. If you read each of these novels on their own, maybe months apart they are each excellent. But if you read them all in a row as I have just done, they become too formulaic.
They still grip your emotions soooo tightly, but you don’t need to read every sentence anymore. So do yourself a favour and pace yourself.
The other aspect that grates a little in each book is the characters that are never called to task or are allowed to run amok too long, without just cause. In this sorry it’s Sebastian’s mother who rejects Kaia in favour of Damon. She never apologizes and neither do the elders who also participated. Who allowed security to be light on the night Kaia and Ryan are kidnapped? Why is Damon allowed to leave the boardroom when he is accused of actively destroying the company and dealing with enemy packs and makes a direct threat to murder Kaia and Ryan? Etc. These could be easily resolved in the storyline.
An action packed second chance shifter romance, with passion, true mates, misunderstandings, rejection, intrigue, ex's brother & her boss, secrets, emotions and a HEA. The main characters have wonderfully strong personalities, willing to do everything to protect the ones they love.
Kaia finally left her abusive ex and went on a scientific retreat in the mountains, only to realise she's the mate of the man who ended up being her boss. But when he learns who her ex is, his brother, he rejects her in the worst way and she ran to a new city using a new name.
But years later Sebastian finds her and his son. Learning that he has an enemy that will not stop in their desire to destroy him, he knows he needs to protect them both. But can he renew Kaia's trust in him?

Kaia is a biologist or scientist -- one doing research for helping and curing illnesses. She's just left an abusive relationship when she meets her fated mate during a work event. Her mate, Sebastian, just happens to be the CEO of her company Beaufort. And the alpha his pack. Whose name changed from Rogue to Rouge repeatedly throughout the book.
The storyline is predictable. She's rejected but it is to protect her for once. Not due to selfishness. She leaves, starts a new life, and finds the cure for cancer in five years?? Not sure how realistic that is. But then again this is a book about shifters.
I had a hard time putting this book down to go to bed but was up first thing to start reading again. Every page was filled with so much going on that it was thrilling to find out what would happen next. This author knows how to make you feel everything that the MCs are feeling it is amazing. I highly recommend this book to all paranormal romance readers.
