Savino, Nadija Mujagic, Tina S. Transformation, Erica Damon, Elisa Daniels, Jeff VanOudenhove, Danielle Fear, Tayler Vaughn, Brody Butcher, Heather S. Chauvin, D.J. Maughan, Darin Miller, Jed Kent, Hayley Bernard-Ryan, Brooke Montoya, Amanda Josephine, Staci Andrea, A.V. Donaldson, Charlene Mattson, Carly Black, Courtney Capone, Ali Clark, D.M. The coolest thing: all proceeds go to charity!! What a great way to donate to a charity, and be able to receive this Holiday psychological horror novel!

It was amazing how each author continued to carry on the story flawlessly. Brovo👏I love the characters, several POV's the twist! the plots! AND the ending! 😯 It really kept you turning those pages to the end, there was no reading a chapter a day for me! This novel will make you think how far you would go for your children?

Ok, so I cheated and read the last two chapters early LOL. This book was super interesting to me...the premise of only reading one chapter a day AND each chapter being written by a different author was intriguing. There were a few continuity errors and grammar mistakes, but they didn't affect the story as a whole. I looked forward to reading my chapter a day. The story itself was pretty good too. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for something different to read during the Christmas season.

Holiday Hell

What's more impressive than 24 authors coming together to write a book? The fact that it's actually really good! The story is creepy, entertaining, and full of clever twists. I loved how each chapter built on the last, creating a sense of tension that's hard to shake. Even if this isn't your usual genre, give it a try - you might just find yourself surprised by how much you enjoy it like I did!

As all parents do, divorced mother Alyssa was determined her daughter would have the Christmas present she desired. A Grimkids doll.
Had she known what followed once she had purchased the doll, she may well have said no to the young girl.
What did follow was beyond her worst nightmare.
I'm not sure how a book written by different authors for each chapter worked as well as it did. The chapters flowed and the style of writing remained consistent.
If you like a storyline that is horrific and stomach churning this is the book for you. I thought it was an excellent read and couldnt stop page turning.

After this book, I’m not inviting any of these 24 authors to my Christmas party. Their chapters had me double checking the naughty or nice list with caution.

Alyssa’s hunt for a simple toy spirals into chaos, carnage, and creepy holiday surprises. Each author adds their own flavor, turning the story into a dark, fast, and wildly fun Advent ride.

A quick, twisted treat for anyone who likes their Christmas with a hint of terror. 🎄💀

What a cool idea!

24 Authors each writing a chapter (though one writes the first and last chapter). 25 chapters meant to be read like an advent calendar if you wanted. The coolest thing about this book however is everything made from sales is going directly to charity which I think is just so cool.

The concept and story can get a little wild at times but that's what makes it so fun to read. Get yourself a copy, help a charity, and enjoy the wild ride.

Ok so I went into this book COMPLETELY BLIND! 😂😂 I seen one of my pitch black girlies I take recs from talking about this book and was like ok! Let’s do this!
Sooo not pitch black… like AT ALL 😂😂 it was most definitely strictly Horror, which is great!

Now… let’s dive into this book! I was laughing the whole time I was reading this! This book kept me entertained the entire time I was reading! It is pretty gory so there were a few time I wasn’t laughing throughly grossed out lol but it was worth it!

I do like the “lesson” of the book… I think it was a pretty good lesson to wrap up the story!

You need to go into this completely blind! 😂😂 but I will say I will never look at one of those Labubu things the same way again!!

I loved how each chapter was written by a different author and how they each added their own spin. This was an interesting read and hope more authors do this in the future.

My Rating: 24/24 stars for a masterclass in collaborative holiday horror!

Reading Horror for the Holidays was hands-down one of the best choices I made all year—and what a wildly fun ride it was! While I’ve been following many of these talented authors on Facebook and TikTok, I couldn't always keep up with their individual releases, so seeing them all together on one 'Rock Star' list was a total game-changer. I committed to the experience of sampling these authors by reading just one chapter a day, exactly as this twisted Advent calendar was meant to be enjoyed (though I’ll admit I couldn't help but finish a few days early!).

What makes this collaboration so impressive is the seamless 'relay' format: 24 authors each wrote a single chapter, building a continuous story from where the previous author left off. The result is a creative, captivating, and crazy-good time that flows perfectly despite the multiple voices.

Beyond the scares is a story within a story; this book has immense ♥️ heart. With royalties donated to the Child Mind Institute, every chilling chapter feels even more meaningful. I'll be talking about this unique story for years to come!

I absolutely loved Horror For The Holidays! 24 authors write 25 chapters, not short stories, but each write a chapter to one continous story. It flowed perfectly from one chapter to the next. The Grimkids doll is the hottest toy for Christmas, and Alyssa is determined to get her daughter Carley the Grimkid that she wants. Alyssa will do whatever it takes to get the doll, but she eventually finds out, it could cost her her whole world, Carley.

This is an outstanding collaboration that goes above and beyond! I read it as an advent, but it was very hard! I was tempted to read ahead almost every day! Just when you think the book can't get any better, or any crazier, it does!

The talent between these covers is undeniable. I have to have a copy of this for my bookshelf! You don't want to miss this!!

very boring and cheesy

Did not like this book. Thought it would be a good fast read for Christmas but it seemed immature and boring. Skipped quite a few pages towards the end just to finish

Do you want a Grimkids, the hottest toy of the year? Every year there is a hot toy that parents will do anything to get for their child but at what cost? This horrifying story written by 24 fantastic writers comes together like a beautiful masterpiece. you will not be disappointed!

This was a fun, entertaining read that kept me laughing & cringing in equal measure. The gory scenes were plentiful, & the entire time I was reading, I couldn’t stop picturing those weird Labubu dolls…which honestly made everything even more unhinged in the best way.

The concept alone deserves major props: the book is written as a Christmas advent, with 24 different authors each contributing a chapter. That could have gone completely off the rails, but surprisingly, the story felt pretty seamless overall. It did feel like the authors were trying to one-up each other yet it worked enough to keep me turning pages. I flew through it because I needed to know what crazy thing was going to happen next.

One of the coolest aspects is that all proceeds go to charity, which adds a lot of heart to such a dark and twisted story. I could absolutely see this being adapted into a Christmas horror movie…it has that campy, bloody, festive vibe that would translate so well on screen.

I ultimately landed at 3 stars because, while I enjoyed the ride, there were noticeable plot holes and quite a few unanswered questions that pulled me out of the story. That said, I really did love the ending and the underlying “lesson” behind it, which helped tie everything together in a satisfying way.

Overall, this is a fast, chaotic, gory holiday read definitely worth checking out if you’re in the mood for something different.

It was super hard to read just one chapter a day. The story is engaging and pulls you right in. It was wrote in such a creative way. The fact that 24 authors each wrote just one chapter without having a say what came before or after them. It was all up to the individual to do what they wanted. How they managed to keep the story going without pushing the next author into a certain way still boggles my mind. I loved that you could also get a feel for each author's writing style. Many of these authors I have had the joy of reading their books. Some I will be grabbing their books soon. I highly recommend to either do the advent or just binge read.

very interesting 🤣

I hadn’t realized before diving in that this book could be read as an advent calendar. I wouldn’t say that I was very horrified but I did laugh a bit. I’ll never forget the GrimKids and that’s why I decided on rating this 3 stars rather than 2. Since a different author wrote each chapter it felt like they were each trying to one up on the weirdness factor and that left me feeling absolutely no connection to characters. It was an interesting little read.

First off I absolutely love the concept of each chapter being a different author. I did feel like the first part of the book flowed together more than the second half. However, you would not be able to tell there were so many different authors by the writing.
This book was definitely a wild ride. Some things I predicted but others completely shocked me.

Interesting

Not really my cup of tea. I always wonder how authors collaborate and make a book AND make it flow well. For me it felt disjointed and just outlandish....even being one of those 80s kids that got a cabbage patch doll and still has her today. I was excited to read this but it ended up being a let down for me. I really wanted to enjoy it but it wasn't for me.

I enjoyed this, sort of Black Mirror feel. It's surprised me how well the different writing styles of each author meshed. It was fun reading a chapter each day up to Christmas, though I admit I ran ahead with the last few.
