He left her a cabin… and a dead body.

Reeling from her father’s death, Reona inherits a lakeside cabin he swore he’d never give her. His final gift feels like a cruel joke, especially when she uncovers the secrets he buried there. Lies, betrayal, and a body hidden on the property force Reona to question everything about her family’s past.

Her neighbor Mick is already struggling under the weight of his own family’s destruction. When he and Reona are drawn together to protect their homes, they uncover a twisted legacy that connects their families in deadly ways.

As the truth rises from the grave, Reona realizes her inheritance could cost her everything—her family’s fortune, the community she’s come to love, and even her life.

Saving Her is a gripping domestic thriller of buried secrets, family betrayal, and relentless suspense. Perfect for fans of Lisa Jewell, Ruth Ware, and Freida McFadden. Book 2 of The Family Heir Looms Suspense Thriller Series.

This is a very unusual story. It took several chapters to get into it and figure out what in the world was going on; but then it moved at a fast clip and was really hard to put down. This story is a very different take on an incredibly dysfunctional family. You find you are working through life problems with a rich child, Reona Carter, who grew up being mostly ignored by her parents, especially her distant mother, losing her only brother when he simply disappeared at 18, and then being left penniless at the death of her father, an extremely wealthy, demanding businessman. Now an adult, and losing her job where she was working at the behest of her now deceased father, Reona is contacted by his attorney to let her know that, unbelievably, she has inherited the deed to a cabin on a lake in the middle of nowhere. Thrilled to finally have something she can call her own, and finally being able to get away from people who hate her because her name is Carter, she packs her meager belongings and moves right in. But things do not go easy for Reona. Other than Mick who lives not far from her, Reona begins to realize that she has moved to a place where people are not particularly open to strangers. Still, happy to be on her own, she finds a part-time job and makes a few acquaintenances. Luckily, Reona is able to enlist the help of her neighbor, Mick, when she is suddenly faced with unknown persons breaking into her home and trashing her meager possessions. What in the world is going on? Why is she a target? But Mick has family problems of his own when his sister shows up to live in his home so she can hide from their crazy mother. As the story unfolds, Reona is faced with dealing with her own evil, conniving mother, the legacy of her mysterious father and his scheming, greedy partners, mysterious stalkers, and even murderers. This was an extremely interesting book. I do recommend it if you enjoy diving into a situation that seems totally impossible to get out of. Lots of twists and turns. I am happy to report that thankfully, this story has a very satisfactory ending.

Reona Carter was surprised when her father left her a cabin at Copper Queen Lake when he passed away. Reona and her Dad were not on good terms since her dad wanted her to work at one of his car dealerships and report back to him about the employees. When the manager found out who she was, she got fired.

Since she had no longer had a job, no money and no place to live, she decided to live in her cabin. When she arrived, she discovered that it was a beautiful lake, not crowed with only a small amount of cabins in the area. The strange part was, only a couple of the cabins had anyone living in them. Things only got stranger from there. Someone had been following her back home, the person was now at the lake.

This book has so many twists and turns and so many surprises, things are not at all what they seem to be.

Another masterpiece. I loved the way Maggie wrote this book. Each chapter hopping to and from a different character, a brilliant way to keep up the suspense or change to a different scene. So easy to read although it never dawned on me until the closing chapter that one of the characters was a girl. How did I miss that?
Full of mystery and intrigue. Brilliant characters who you loved or hated. I loved every minute of it

Reona inherited a cabin from her Dad, this shocked her as she and her Dad had a very strained relationship. When Reona loses her job, she decides to move to the cabin. Entering the cabin the first
Thing she finds is a dead body. She senses people are watching her, she doesn’t know who or why.
Danger lurks at every corner. Who can she trust?
Another excellent series by Maggie Thom. can’t wait for book three.
Highly recommend.

Wow, this is a cracking thriller and no mistake. I know this author writes some excellent stories but they have really knocked it out of the park with this one. I loved it, I was completely engrossed. The way everything came together at the end was awesome. I cannot wait for the next one. Highly recommended.

Saving Her is an excellent read.  Maggie Thom delivers a thriller with plenty of twists.  It is always difficult to know who are the true bad guys  until revealed in an exciting conclusion.  The story is also suitably mystifying until the roaring end. But  I had a difficult time identifying with the heroine who was somewhat diva-ish.

Fast paced thriller that I did not want to stop reading. Reona inherited a cabin in the middle of a desolate area around a lake. She had nowhere to go and not much money, so she decided to live in this cabin. Family secrets are revealed, and her long-lost brother reappears. Danger surrounds the area where Reona's cabin is located. I really enjoyed this novel.

Gripping

Thrilling. Beautiful setting with a very complicated plot. So many people plotting against each other. Everyone trying to figure out how to come out on top or just survive. Twists and turns throughout the story and a suspenseful unexpected ending.
