I was forced to forge a false mate bond with the Cursed Alpha, my exiled stepbrother, the scarred monster whose ancient spell could only be broken by his true fated mate.
I hated him, feared him, yet the moment our bodies entwined, a forbidden fire consumed us both, awakening my hidden wolf and revealing the I am his true mate, the one destined to shatter his curse forever.
Now, with our secret son binding us in ways I never imagined, vengeance and passion collide. Can I embrace the alpha who claims my soul, or will the secrets of my stolen bloodline destroy the family we’ve fought to protect?
A steamy enemies-to-lovers werewolf romance of curses, redemption, and unbreakable love.
This plot was plotting all over. I think I’m going to take a break from shifter books for a bit. They’re starting to sound the same. (Possible spoilers ahead)
I’d love to ask the author what she has against Uncles. This is the 4th book I’ve read of hers where the uncle is psycho.
So…I’ll start with a little background info. This book gives a little Beauty and the Beast vibes. H is cursed, and he’s covered in defects, like scales? 🤷♀️ His Alpha dad marries h’s psycho mom when H was a child. Psycho stepmom convinced alpha dad to exile H. H has been exiled for 17 years. His curse can only be broken if he finds his true mate. Alpha dad doted on his stepdaughter (h), but her mom treats her badly.
Alpha Dad dies, and everybody is shocked that Alpha Dad left his kingdom to H. It was supposed to go to the super helpful Uncle H returns, and he has major, major anger issues (who would blame him?)
Well, h has this nifty little superpower. She may not be able to get her wolf, but she can mimic “fated mate bonds” to anybody. She can manipulate any man into loving her. It sounds like h’s mom has made her use it before to get secrets from people.
The book starts with psycho mom telling h she’s going to “fake mate bond” with H, or else mom will not help h’s nanny with her medical care. (h loves her nanny) so yeah….we know where this is going. H and h are FOR REAL fated mates. They boink. Surprisingly, his curse is not breaking, and he finds out about h’s superpower. He thinks he was manipulated, and the mate bond is fake. Why else would someone as pretty as her sleep with somebody as ugly/beastly as him? h keeps throwing herself at him, and he’s just awful to her. She finds out she is pregnant and goes to tell him. She overhears the super helpful uncle tell H to breed her, then throw her out. She gets her nanny, and they leave.
5 years later. A strange thing happened a few months after h left H. He slowly went from beast- to handsome. A GLOW UP That’s when he realized he was so very wrong and threw his fated mate away. He’s been looking for her. He really loves her now. 🙄
Now he’s at an art show. An anonymous artist is finally going to reveal herself after 5 years of being hidden. 😂😂😂😂 (Is it possible for your eyes to roll right out of your head?)
He recognized h as soon as she walked on the stage. He bought her art for half a million. (The description of the art made me laugh. It sounded like something a kindergartener would paint) h didn’t recognize H, though. They meet up the next day to discuss a job opportunity, and he reveals who he is. She’s not happy. He can’t seem to get it through his thick skull why she’s not happy. 🤪 h has this tiny secret- she has an 4-year old son.
Within like 1 day of their reunion, somebody blows up her art studio, a co-worker hates her, then she has people trying to ☠️ her. I’ll skip over all that nonsense because eventually they go back to the pack. It’s always the same old excuse “I need to protect you” 🙈
The big spoiler The 4-year old being born is what cured H (not a fate bond). It also means their lives are tied together (this was confusing and leaves me with a lot of questions) h’s psycho mom is NOT actually her mom. h was kidnapped when she was a young child. h is from a rare wolf bloodline. h can do all kinds of cool things- like shapeshift into other people. h is also an alpha. Her wolf is big, and she’s solid white. The psycho mom and the super helpful uncle were actually lovers and were working together to be in power. They killed H’s dad. They just didn’t realize H’s dad discovered their deception, and he changed the will before he died. Psycho mom was a dark witch, and she’s the one who cursed H when he was a child. She wanted to make sure he couldn’t be alpha. (Maybe I’m the actual psycho because I’m asking myself why they didn’t just ☠️ H. Seems like that would have been easier than doing a curse)
I do appreciate that this author does give her villains a good comeuppance.
There was never any doubt that h (good witch) would be fighting psycho mom (bad witch) at the end. h wins, but she is mortally wounded. h finds her real parents. They have been looking for her for years. They can touch her and bring light powers that heal her. 🥴
There really wasn’t much of an ending. It was just a couple of paragraphs telling us that everybody was happy.
Yeah, I think I need a breaker from the shifter world. Meh
I enjoyed Rejected by My Stepbrother Alpha King. It’s definitely a fast-paced Shifter Romance with a couple who kept my attention glued to my Kindle. Fate is a fickle thing, and sometimes the absolutely unexpected person is that perfect fit for you. Eliara and Kael have a complicated past… and an almost convoluted future, one they need to break free of to find their own true fate bond. Their future happiness and the fate of their child depend on their coming to terms with what came before and what could be. Their story is complex in many ways, and quite simple in others. Even though silent up to this time, fate has had a hand in their lives, combining at this point… and putting down the evil that manipulates and contrives for its own power is the first step toward freedom.
Rejected by My Stepbrother Alpha King is intriguing, definitely steamy, with a couple you’ll find it hard not want them to find their way to their eventual happiness. The villain is vile beyond compare, and I couldn’t wait to see justice done to them. Emotions run high, and so does the danger both Eliara and Kael and their son face, as walls tumble, truths come to light, and fate finally resolves itself. An emotional, enjoyable journey that I would not hesitate to recommend. If you love your Shifter Romances filled with emotions, passion, and danger, then you’d love this one.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the author or the author’s team via Booksprout, and I sincerely thank them for their trust. It is my choice to leave a review, giving my personal opinion about this book.*
An action packed second chance shifter romance, with passion, true mates, betrayal, misunderstandings, rejection, curses, magic, wolf shifters and witches, secrets, love and a HEA. The main characters have wonderfully strong personalities, protecting loved ones and friends.
Eliara is forced by her mother to convince the pack Alpha that she's his true mate and marry him so she can manipulate him. Her mum had been married to his dad and he'd been exiled for years because of a curse only his true mate can break, but after his dad's death he's returning. But after spending time together she realises they really are true mates but overhears a plan to get rid of her so she leaves.
Five years later Kael has been searching for her since his curse had cured and he'd realised what she was to him. When he finds her at an art show he's delighted but she doesn't recognise him, can he convince her to let him back into her life?

The book had a somewhat formulaic plot. Rejected weak mate who is fated to the alpha then is rejected and runs away. Secret baby. Her weakness turns out to be a cover for her latent extraordinary powers that finally emerge, etc. She turns out to be unique and very powerful, and so on. We’ve all read elements of this plot before. This was the second book I’ve read by the author but I’ll stop here. There is a lot of repetition. The FMC loves the alpha but can’t trust him when he repeatedly and I mean repeatedly begs her forgivenesses and professes his undying love. The author uses the word “pleading” so often you can make it a drinking game. I became a bit annoyed with the FMC who once again repeatedly lies to her mate about the true identity of their son. She’s a coward. All this repetition just strung the book along and lot longer than necessary. Relieved when it was finally over. That’s not the feeling you want when you read THE END.
Kale, a cursed alpha and stepbrother to Eliara spend one night of passion together. Emotionally charged and heartbreaking realizations kept me on the edge of seat. The climax to the story comes closer to the end but the build up was intense. I could not get enough of this story and it’s ever evolving characters.

Si vous aimez les livres de loup garou et une histoire intense et différente vous êtes au bon endroit. Très accrocheur jusqu'à la toute fin. Petit bémol pour la syntaxe et temps de verbe mais rien de dramatique.
Reads like AI had a big part in writing it. Same patterns, same names - Kael is AI’s ML favorite name. Same basic plot as the last one I read from this author, same bad guy. Mr Lee flips between Li and Lee multiple times.
Fantastic book, took you on an incredible journey of love and hate. And how emotions can affect your life and the struggle to keep your heart and your dreams. Beautifully written.
Really fast and furious. Strong female lead as well as other female characters in this story. A little bit of everything...wolves, magic, love, hate and family.
