Edenlost: The Borderless City is a profound exploration of the human soul under pressure. Alexandra Kathleen Blade builds tension through a vivid and gripping atmosphere that captures the reader from the very first pages.
The futuristic city of Edenlost is a fully realized urban environment, a constant and unsettling presence. The story unfolds masterfully along two parallel paths: on one side is Leyla, the true protagonist, who begins to unravel the city’s dark secrets from the moment she awakens; on the other is the struggle of her mother, Evelyn, whose resilience and maternal strength lend the narrative incredible emotional gravity.
The pacing is fast-paced, the prose elegant, and the mysteries of Edenlost are unveiled with surgical precision. Every detail is perfectly placed, contributing to a compelling psychological puzzle. A brilliant debut that leaves you craving the next installment!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Edenlost: The Borderless City pulled me in with its eerie sense of mystery and never really let go. Edenlost is the kind of place that looks perfect at first glance, but there’s always the feeling that something beneath the surface isn’t right—and uncovering those layers is half the fun.

What made the story work for me was the emotional core. The connection between Leyla and her mother gives the plot real weight and keeps everything grounded even as the larger mystery unfolds.

The atmosphere is tense without being overdone, and the story keeps revealing just enough to keep you turning pages. By the end, I was completely invested in what happens next.

A really strong start to a series. I’ll definitely be watching for the next book.

Edenlost: The Borderless City is an interesting mix of suspense, emotion, and a unique fantasy world.

What I liked the most, is the bond between the characters, especially the emotional connection between mother and daughter. The writing has a cinematic feel and keeps the reader curious about what will happen next.

This is a good read for anyone who enjoys mystery with a touch of fantasy.

A Quietly Haunting Opening to a Thoughtful Sci-Fi Saga

Edenlost: The Borderless City carries a quiet emotional weight from the very first pages. The atmosphere is tense and faintly unsettling, as if something immense is moving just beyond the edges of ordinary life.

At the center of the novel is Evelyn, a mother shaped by loss and constant worry. Her defining trait is a kind of anxious vigilance—she is always bracing for the next fracture in her already fragile world. That emotional posture gives the story its gravity. The stakes feel personal before they ever become cosmic, and the unfolding mysteries around Edenlost gain their impact because they press directly against Evelyn’s fears, responsibilities, and stubborn resilience.

Blade’s prose leans atmospheric and precise, favoring mood and setting over spectacle. The writing is deliberate, often lingering on emotional detail and environment in a way that builds tension gradually. The pacing is largely a slow burn, but the steady layering of unease suggests larger forces at work beneath the surface.

Recommended if you prefer character-driven speculative fiction over high-speed action—especially stories where emotional tension matters more than explosive plot twists.

This story hooked me pretty quickly. It starts with Leyla disappearing after a strange encounter on a stormy road, while her mother Evelyn somehow senses something is wrong and starts trying to find her using a strange psychic ability.

From there the story moves between Evelyn searching for her daughter and Leyla waking up in a place called Edenlost with no memory of how she got there. That part of the story was really interesting to me. The mystery around Edenlost slowly unfolds through small details, like the bracelets everyone wears and the way people’s memories have been erased.

What I ended up liking most was the emotional side of the story. The relationships between the characters feel real, especially the bond between Leyla and her mother, and the connections she forms with people in Edenlost.

The last few chapters hit pretty hard emotionally. The scene in the park near the end was especially powerful without needing a lot of drama around it.

The idea behind Edenlost is really interesting, and the ending stuck with me for a while after I finished the book.

This book feels like a stormy dream. It starts in the real world with a girl riding her bike and a mom who feels something is wrong. The kidnap scene in the rain is scary and very easy to picture. I liked how the mom uses her strange gift and then races out of the house to find her daughter. Her fear feels very real. The story shifts into a new city that feels both cool and creepy. There are high towers, strange rules, and wrist bracelets that control what people can do. Everyday scenes like the gym, the park, and the streets still have tension in the background. The world feels big and rich, with lots of small details. The writing is very visual and emotional. Sometimes it slows down because of long descriptions. There is mystery, teen drama and jealousy. I would suggest this book if you like fantasy with strong mood, a dangerous city, and characters who care deeply about each other.

Edenlost is a city that looks perfect on the outside but hides a lot of dark secrets underneath. The story pulls you in with its bright, beautiful world, then slowly reveals that things aren’t quite what they seem. It’s a mix of magic, mystery, and real emotions that makes you think about what trust really means.

The main character, Leyla, wakes up in Edenlost with no idea how she got there. She doesn’t remember anything from her past, and she’s left trying to figure out who she can trust in this strange city. It’s a simple but clever way to make the reader feel just as lost and confused as Leyla. Her journey is full of surprises—twists and turns that keep you guessing. As she explores Edenlost, she starts to discover secrets about the city and herself that change everything she believed.

What I liked most about this book is how real the emotions feel. Leyla isn’t just a heroine fighting bad guys; she’s vulnerable, confused, and trying to find her place. Her feelings of fear, hope, love, and betrayal come across in a very honest way. The friendships she forms and the love she feels are honest and touching, making her feel like someone you could easily relate to. The supernatural powers she begins to develop aren’t just cool extras—they tie into her feelings and her growth as a person.

The author does a good job of making the story feel cinematic. The descriptions are vivid without being overdone, and the pacing is just right—fast enough to keep you interested but slow enough to let you really get to know the characters and the world. The city itself feels alive, full of hidden corners and secrets waiting to be uncovered. The story’s structure is like a maze, which fits perfectly with the theme of uncovering hidden truths. Just when you think you have things figured out, another surprise pops up.

What I appreciated most is the respectful, caring tone of the story. Everyone’s struggles are shown with kindness and understanding. Leyla’s vulnerability is never made fun of; instead, her strength grows from her honesty about her fears and doubts. The relationships—whether friendship or love—are heartfelt and feel genuine. It’s clear the author put a lot of effort into showing that even in a city full of magic and danger, human connection is what really matters.

Reading Edenlost feels like watching a movie that pulls you into its world. You can see every detail, feel every emotion, and get caught up in the story’s twists and turns. Leyla’s journey is about more than just discovering powers—it’s about finding herself and learning to trust in what she believes. The story shows that sometimes, it’s in the shadows and the uncertain moments that we find our true strength.

In the end, Edenlost is a story about secrets, love, and the courage to face the unknown. It reminds us that even in a perfect city, there are always hidden truths waiting to be uncovered—and sometimes, the greatest adventures happen inside ourselves. It’s a book that makes you think, feel, and believe in the power of hope and connection.

I am not 100% certain, but I suspect there could be some editorial/formatting errors in the English translated version.

There are POV errors often in the first 50 pages. We see the chapter begin from the point of view in one characters perspective and a few paragraphs later the point of view hops to a different character without any warning or page break.

There are also chronological errors. For example we see a mug shatter on a kitchen floor, in one chapter, then a few chapters later we see someone driving in a car holding it.

We also see someone riding a bicycle in the early paragraphs of a chapter, then in the same chapter few paragraphs later, her feet are on the ground and she can’t run.

It’s difficult reading. A bit clunky. Again I am suspecting there are possibly translation issues going on here. But overall, there is creativity and imagination present here. Plot and ideas are solid.

Edenlost – Borderless City is the kind of story that pulls you in with atmosphere first and then tightens its grip through character. Alexandra Kathleen Blade writes with a steady hand for tension and an instinct for emotional truth. The result is a novel that blends fantasy, mystery, and coming of age elements into a world that feels both familiar and uncanny.
The book opens with a mother searching for her missing daughter during a storm that feels almost alive. Evelyn’s panic is not melodramatic. It is grounded, human, and written with a clarity that makes you feel the weight of every decision she makes. Her psychic gift is handled with restraint. It is not a superpower. It is a fragile thread that frays under pressure, which makes her struggle all the more compelling.
Leyla’s storyline unfolds in a very different register. She wakes in a place that calls itself safe, yet everything about it feels curated and controlled. Blade excels at writing that quiet, unsettling tension where kindness and secrecy sit side by side. Leyla’s confusion, her flashes of memory, and her growing suspicion give her chapters a dreamlike quality that slowly sharpens into purpose. Her emotional arc is one of the strongest elements of the book. She begins as a frightened girl and gradually becomes someone who questions, pushes back, and reaches for her own identity.
The supporting cast adds texture without overwhelming the story. Some characters feel protective. Others feel watchful. A few carry a sense of danger that never needs to be stated outright. Blade understands how to use silence, glances, and small gestures to build unease. The relationships that form around Leyla, especially the ones marked by trust or attraction, feel honest and complicated. Nothing is simple in Edenlost, and that is part of its charm.
The worldbuilding is revealed in layers. There are hints of ancient magic, family legacies, and a larger conspiracy surrounding the city itself. Blade never dumps information. She lets the reader discover the truth at the same pace as the characters. The result is a story that feels intimate even as the stakes widen. There are trials, storms, and moments of real danger, but the heart of the book remains the bond between mother and daughter and the lengths each will go to find the other.
The emotional beats land. The romantic tension is handled with care. The sense of mystery stays intact. And the final chapters set the stage for a larger saga without feeling unfinished. Blade clearly has a long game in mind, and she has built a world that can sustain it.
Eedenlost – Borderless City is a strong beginning to a series that blends suspense, magic, and emotional depth. Readers who enjoy character driven fantasy with a touch of the supernatural will find plenty to hold onto here. Blade writes with sincerity and ambition, and the story leaves you wanting to follow these characters into whatever comes next.

A dystopian urban fantasy with a deep emotional core, this book surprised me in so many good ways.
The story centers around teenager Leyla, who wakes up in a world that she doesn’t really belong in but is told that her life is there now. She’s not supposed to remember her old life, but because of a gift passed down to her, she begins to piece together clues that suggest she has another life to come home to. Thankfully, her untiring mother Evelyn, who possesses the same gift, eventually finds a way to somehow contact her daughter, but it’s one thing to let Leyla know she exists; it’s another thing to find where she has been taken away.

My favorite part of the story is the bond between Leyla and Evelyn. Blade tackles this with care and vulnerability, so you can’t help but root for them to both be rescued from their separation.

One thing I’d like to point out, though, is that Leyla at most times doesn’t seem like a 19-year-old, but maybe a bit younger, like 15 or 16. The way her reactions go when she’s stressed or upset, perhaps it would’ve been better if the age was not strictly established.

Overall, the book delivers the right amount of interiority and intrigue that immersive readers like me enjoy. It’s a rewarding read if you like plot-driven emotional stories that leave you in awe of where the next turn could be headed.

Picked this up on a whim and honestly glad I did. The idea of a hidden city where everyone's memories are wiped? Such a cool concept. The author does a great job making Edenlost feel real with all the rules and the bracelets and that creepy Uttermost guy running things.

The mom Evelyn was my favorite. Her storyline trying to find Leyla using her psychic gift felt tense and emotional. The island stuff with the trials was actually pretty intense - that underwater cave scene had me holding my breath.

Leyla's journey from waking up paralyzed to slowly figuring out something's wrong with the city kept me turning pages. The whole thing with the Red twins and little Susy added some heart. And the mystery of what's really going on behind the scenes? I need answers.

Ending was bittersweet but satisfying. Some slow parts in the middle but overall a solid read. Will definitely check out book two.

Leyla wakes up in Edenlost with no memory of how she got there, and her mother Evelyn is out in the world trying to find her with a psychic ability she can barely control. That dual structure works. The mystery around Edenlost unfolds slowly through small details, bracelets everyone wears, erased memories, kindness that feels curated, and Blade has a real feel for that specific dread where nothing is obviously wrong but everything is off. Leyla's arc from frightened and confused to someone who starts pushing back is the emotional center and it holds.
Where it loses ground is in familiar genre territory. The chosen-one power awakening, the secret city with a dark underbelly, the romance that burns quiet but fierce. The bones are solid but the tropes are well-worn. Readers who want something that feels urgent and emotionally grounded will find it here. Readers looking for something they haven't seen will recognize the furniture. Solid debut, and the ending earns the next book.

This book hooked me pretty quickly. It starts with Leyla disappearing after a strange encounter in the rain, while her mum somehow feels something is wrong and rushes out to find her using her unusual psychic gift.

From there, the story moves between Evelyn searching and Leyla waking up in Edenlost with no memory, which I found really compelling. The city itself feels cool but unsettling — high towers, strange rules, and those wrist bracelets that quietly control everything.

What stood out most to me was the emotional side, especially the bond between mother and daughter and the relationships Leyla forms inside the city. The last few chapters hit hard, and the ending stayed with me well after I finished.

Highly recommend.

If you're looking for a dystopian read that actually feels fresh, "Edenlost: The Borderless City" is a fantastic pick. The story centers on Leyla, who lives in a "perfect" utopia of eternal sunshine, but the constant surveillance and her own fragmented memories create a brilliant, lingering sense of dread.
The author did a great job of blending sci-fi conspiracy elements and the world-building is immersive without being dense.
While a few side character arcs could have used a bit more breathing room, the central mystery and the moral dilemmas the characters face make it a gripping, high-speed read.
Highly recommended for fans of gritty, thought-provoking dystopian fiction.

A great Urban, Dystopian fantasy. This book has great world building. It's atmospheric and vivid, yet also ethereal. The story itself is compelling and the relationships between characters are really well written. It's exciting and quite emotional. Just the right amount of twists to keep you hooked from chapter to chapter. The book is very fluid in it's pacing, Evelyn's character feels very real, very maternal and very strong. I look forward to reading more from the author!

Edenlost: The Borderless City, The concept of a mysterious city where memories and rules shape people’s lives is intriguing and kept me curious throughout the story. The world-building is detailed and atmospheric, giving the setting a slightly eerie but fascinating feel. I also liked how the emotional elements and the mystery unfold gradually. While a few parts move a bit slower, the overall journey is engaging and imaginative. It’s a solid start to a dystopian fantasy series and definitely leaves you interested in what happens next.
