Out of all my siblings, I am the serious one. I live to work and for control. My childhood was spent taking care of my siblings while my father dealt with heartbreak. Some people will tell you that it has made me cold. I will say that it has made me wise.
At forty, I feel the pressure from my family to settle down, when that is the furthest thing from my mind. My sister-in-law’s best friend, who despises my very existence, returns to the U.K. after her relationship fails.
I am forced to apologise to her for something I did in the past. But that apology goes horribly wrong, and I tell my family that we are dating instead.
Now I need to convince her to agree to a fake relationship, but why would she agree when she sees me as the enemy?
Jenna
Do you know what I hate? Men, I hate them, especially one who gets on my very last nerve with his arrogance. I thought I had seen the last of him until my relationship with my long-distance boyfriend failed.
Now I am back, homeless and knocking on my best friend’s door. Knowing that I will have to see the enemy because my best friend is married to his brother.
He made a fool of me years ago, and now he wants a favour? Now I will make him sorry for every remark he ever made.
Let the games begin, Hunter Williams.

Hunter by L. M. Harrison was a five-star read for me in every sense. I loved the enemies-to-lovers dynamic, which was built on real tension and history rather than forced conflict, making the progression from dislike to desire feel natural and deeply satisfying. The age-gap romance added an extra layer of emotional complexity without ever feeling uncomfortable, and the fake dating trope brought humor, awkward moments, and undeniable chemistry. Hunter’s character development was a standout for me—watching him evolve from controlled, intimidating, and emotionally guarded to vulnerable and self-aware was incredibly rewarding—while Jenna’s strength, confidence, and refusal to be overshadowed by his wealth made her a heroine I truly rooted for. What really elevated this book was the writing itself. L. M. Harrison’s style is smooth, engaging, and emotionally immersive, with well-balanced pacing that allows both the tension and the quieter, heartfelt moments to shine. The dialogue felt natural and sharp, full of banter and emotional honesty, which made the connection between the characters feel authentic and earned. Overall, the combination of strong writing, compelling character growth, emotional depth, and well-executed romance tropes made Hunter an unforgettable read for me—and I genuinely can’t wait for the next book in the series.
I was so looking forward to Hunter & Jenna this book and whole series is such a great example of the billionaire romance genre.
For me it didn't re-write the genre but it was all the ingredients that work so well together.
Hunter is grumpy, rich, possessive and doesn't believe in love. Jenna is feisty, independent, believes and wants true love and aside from when she sees Hunter very sunshine.
Their 1st interaction was a few years ago and it wasn't very good, Jenna can remember and Hunter cant so he likes to wind her up which makes her dislike him more and more each time, not ideal when her best friend is married to his brother. After a misunderstanding these 2 agree to fake date for 6 months and she moves in with him.
Not only does this book please those of us who love the classic billionaire romance but if you want to read romance with a little more edge then this is the series for you.
Omg! Hunterrrrrrr! Okay, I don't even know where to start with this book. It was everything and more. The banter between Hunter and Jenna had me in stitches! I did cry and a couple of chapters but that is through Lisa's writing because you feel like you know the characters. Enemies to lovers is my favourite trope and it was written to perfection. I fell in love with Hunter when I read Hudsons book so I was so happy we were getting Hunters story so soon. And..... we get to see the billionaires of Prestbury characters makes an appearance from Lisa's first series which I love! And...... the scene with the mask 🥵 🌶 If you are looking for: Fake dating Enemies to lovers Only one bed Billionaire Romance Then this book is for you!
I love Hunter he is the guy in the family who is always taking care of everyone else. He doesn't stop and think about his own happiness, he is Grumpy, cocky, arrogant and I LOVE hime (Sorry Toby)
Jenna is the kind of person that everyone wants in their friendship group. She gives zero fucks about what people think of her and anything she chooses to do. I love how unapologetic she is. She has been through a lot and I think the way that Hunter shows her in lots of little ways that she is loved and deserves to be loved!
This book from start to finish and I laughed, I cried, I swooned and was rooting for them realise that if they put themselves first they would see that they were both exactly what each other need and deserve.
