---
When she wished upon a star, she never thought the universe would manifest him.

Ember has always worked hard to achieve her goals. Move to the city? Check. Start her own boutique? Check. Buy a Victorian house? Check. Find love?

Absolute failure, and it’s not for lack of trying.

So she does something she hasn’t tried yet—she makes a wish upon a star. It’s just a silly, hopeful gesture. What can it hurt?

With a literal bump in the night, Nyte appears. He’s ethereally gorgeous, with dark skin that glitters like the starry sky, wings formed of otherworldly shadow, and eyes that glow with all the beauty, depth, and mystery of the universe. The moment Ember sees him, she can’t help but think her wish has come true.

What does it matter that he’s not human? He’s her monster-loving fantasy brought to life.

The problem? He had his heart stolen by his freaking ex.

Thanks to the spell that inadvertently summoned him, she has a month to prove that she’s the one for him. That she’s worthy of his love.

But is his wounded heart able to give it?

Ember was such a ray of goth sunshine and was absolutely on board with climbing the monster fucking train right off the bat. Nyte was broody and grumpy. He informed most of his choices based on his past relationship trauma. Luckily he had someone like Ember to open him up to more. It was a fast burn romance, helped along by them being tethered to one another.

Spice: 4/5

Triggers: attempted SA, sexual harassment, violence, fatphobic remarks, toxic ex, mentions of eating a heart, pheromones/coercion (not by MCs), alcohol use, sex after alcohol use

I think it’s very interesting that the villains in a lot of this duo’s writing are females with significant power in one way or another. You don’t see that a lot, but I can appreciate the fact that they offer a kind of diversity in that way. Makes things interesting, for sure.
I really liked the dynamic between these two. Nyte was such a grumpy grouch, and Ember just found that absolutely adorable. I was definitely getting that ✨fairy in the cage that finds the goblin king cute✨(please tell me someone else has seen that clip lol)vibes during a lot of the beginning scenes, and I was totally digging it.

This collaborative series has closed on an absolute banger, courtesy of the lovely writing duo that is Tiffany Roberts! 260 pages was the perfect length for this story… short, but enough time to fall in love with these two characters. Grumpy x Sunshine, with a goth girl twist!

Ember was sunshine wrapped up in sexy goth dresses. She unwittenly wished upon a star and got wrapped up in some demonic shenanigans. I appreciated how she was so comfortable in her own skin, both as a semigoth chic and curvy lady. She had shit luck with men prior, but not as much trauma as her future love had. Nyte is enigmatic… he is broody and grumpy from the jump (with fair reasons having been burned in the past).

At his core, Nyte is conflicted by his love and attraction towards Ember. This is smutty and fast burn to sex, but medium burn to love. They are tethered to one another, so proximity blossoms to love in a month. I would say it is medium burn to love on the spectrum of this story not compared to others!

Adorable! Would recommend this book over all the others in the “series”... a great gateway into Tiffany Roberts if you haven’t pick them up already. 4 stars!

I did not like the mcs initial interaction. I found it pretty cringe. It was also hypocritical of Ember to act so lusty & without personal boundaries towards Nyte literally the same night she left a date because the guy was behaving the same way towards her, which she found offensive.

My favorite of this series! Highly recommend. Just Perfect! (to me. :)

Someone hurt this sweet baby, and it takes a beautiful human wishing upon a star to show him how true love can really be. One of my favorite parts was how curious and naïve he was to most human customs. Watching him try to understand everyday things added a cute humor and charm. And I must mention how stunning he is with stars on his skin and wings. And sweet Ember…she loves him through his grumps and uncertainty.

This is a steamy paranormal monster romance. It is part of the multi-author series of standalones Witches Love Monsters.

FMC Ember comes home one night after a bad date and, on a whim, wishes on a star for a fated mate-style true love. She thinks nothing of it and goes to sleep. Of course, she wakes up with a grumpy night demon MMC, Nyte, whose friend played matchmaker and has spelled them to spend the next lunar cycle together.

I really enjoyed this book. It has a wonderful grumpy/sunshine dynamic with whimsy and enough slow burn to make it interesting, but not so much that it’s truly a slow burn. The FMC was a little more trusting than I would be of the surprise demon she’s stuck with, but it made for a great dynamic and ultimately, a fun, spicy read.

This book is probably my favorite in the series, but the whole series was great. I hope to see more collaborations like this from these authors in the future.

Absolutely loved!

The chemistry between our sunshine gothic witch and the night left nothing but joy and satisfaction. I adored Ember and Nyte. How she just want loved that is unwavering and unconditional despite her bad dating past while he wants the same too but can’t get out of his head to open his heart again.

I felt like this book was more on the emotionally open side compared to the other three, not saying they were bad in comparison, but it did take the two main characters to actually give into their desire for one another.

I loved how we got a detailed description of their past and the explanation of their characters in a way that progresses the story and really humanized all the written characters in to believable ones!

Also loved our main character for their mindfulness and understanding of consent 🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏

There is a good amount of smut in it as well as trigger warnings!

Smut level:
3/5 — more detailed scenes then actual amount of times

Trigger warnings:
Attempted SA, sexual harassment, toxic ex, fat phobic remarks, mention of organ eating, coercion, alcohol consumption.

My favourite book out of the series!🫶🏼✨️

Ember was positive gothy witch, who was so down for her wish that appeared in her bedroom - she was lonely, and yearned to find a love, that lasts, that is unconditional, love that provides trust and protection.

Nyte was the grumpy to the sunshine that Ember brought, he was secluded and kept himself safe from others due to his past, but seeing him fall? Even better.

With help from Ember and a little bit of help from Starling, Nyte finally opened up and realised what he had standing in front of him - someone just right for him, Ember.

Really Loved the story! I enjoyed how right from the start the FMC was game for a demon to appear and take the opportunity with both hands and live with joy! I love the writing of the book. It was a fun quick pace with raw emotions that had me feeling happy and sad! The passion between the main characters was so tender and hot that I love reading their love story. The genuine moments between them was so cute! I love how they spent time together and it was genuine love.

Overall a great installment to the series and love this one a lot!

Tropes: Paranormal Monster Romance, Forced Proximity, Slow Burn, Insta Lust, Denial of Feelings, Dual POV

This was the fourth installment in the Witches Love Monsters standalone novella monster romance series, and definitely my favorite! I’ve read other books by Tiffany Roberts, and I do like her work. Somehow, in this short novella, she made it a slow burn. I don’t even know how that’s possible. I liked that this one took place over a month instead of just a couple of days. It makes the romance seem more realistic.

In this novella, we have our FMC, Ember, who lives in Salem, MA and has everything she wants in life—except for a life partner. When she wishes upon a star one night, she’s surprised to see her wish actually come true. But not in the way she expects.

When Nyte is summoned from the Pit of Despair, he is confused, frustrated, and over it. His friend is meddling with his heart and thinks Ember is the solution to his past romantic heartbreak.

I loved how Ember was immediately into it. She’s obsessed with all things paranormal, and she’s just instantly okay with Nyte being a demon, even trying to softly seduce him. Meanwhile, Nyte is completely confused and wonders why she isn’t freaked out by him.

We know Ember immediately falls for Nyte, but it sneaks up on him over the course of their time together. He spends every waking (and sleeping) moment with Ember and grows to care for her, eventually falling in love.

The spice was so good in this novella, but I really enjoyed the slow-burn yearning and pining between these two. And what’s a romance without a crazy ex who comes back trying to claim what’s theirs? Don’t worry—they’re swiftly defeated, and we get our lovely HEA.

Overall, this was my favorite of the standalone monster romance novellas. I loved our MCs and how this was a slow burn with all the built-in yearning and tension.

“Ah, my Ember. How brightly you shine for me.”
~~~
Ember is so awesome! She’s kind, loyal, considerate and caring. Even more, she’s so feisty, fun and a genuinely good person. I also loved that she knew what she wanted and was not afraid to go after it. Ember is an amazing woman and I adored her so, so much!
And then, there’s Nyte! He’s one gorgeous, irresistible and incredibly grumpy night demon. But there’s more to him than meets the eye. Because underneath his broody facade is a male who cares deeply, has a lot to offer and fiercely protects what’s his, but has been badly hurt in the past. Nyte is a wonderful male and I couldn’t help but adore every single thing about him!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Ember and Nyte! After many failed attempts at dating, Ember makes a wish upon a star and one very meddling but also well-intentioned Starling hears her plea. And now Ember has to deal with one very grumpy nocturnus…
I loved Nyte and Ember together! Their chemistry was fantastic from the start and all their banters and bickerings had me absolutely cracking up. Every moment those two spent together was a true delight to read. Even more, I loved that no matter how determined Nyte was to resist the lovely curvy witch, with kindness, care and consideration she not only managed to worm her way to the demon’s heart but also show him that he deserved the affection and happiness he secretly craved. And when they finally gave into the undeniable attraction, the passionate moments they shared were smoking hot and I couldn’t get enough. What can I say… that nocturnus is full of surprises. Ember and Nyte were absolutely perfect for each other and more than deserved to find happiness and love together!
Overall, Oops! I Summoned A Night Demon is a quick, fun and naughty story and I loved every page of it!
3/5 🌶️
At first, I did not think anything of this book in particular. It bored me a little, felt stock-standard of a pep-in-the-step goth girl, and the first scene with a douche of a date was just lacklustre. My mind, however, was changed while reading.
Quickly, I grew to really enjoy Ember and Nyte not only as a couple but as characters as well. I adored that even though Ember is this sweet girl, she knows what she wants and is able to voice them. She is still able to show active interest of getting to know and being with Nyte but never uses her interest as a way to manipulate or control Nyte in to doing any of it with her. I enjoyed this so much since usually we see the masculine characters persue after hearing no and it feels pushy - Ember was a refreshing twist to that, still able to prove she wants him but doesn't make it feel gross essentially. I just really enjoyed a lot about Ember.
Nyte, after a prickly start but which is so understandable, grows as well. Slowly you start to find out the reason for his behaviour, for his insistance and heartbreak, and it makes Nyte to be a much more humanised character. He is able to fully admit his emotions and has emotional maturity, able to communicate (when needed is what I should say), cares and is just honestly a decent 'guy'. Their relationship, as it progresses, feels quite natural in growth since they are forced together for a month and literally have to spend every moment together due to it. BUT. Even with those factors, they are able to build companionship.
The smut was quite good after the build of tension between them. In particular, the fact that Ember takes the step to initiate (teasing him, saying she can be all his, touching herself in front of him) without any shyness or shame, she wants and it is so clear she does. Then when Nyte takes over. His dirty talk, when used, made little goosebumps raise from just how natural if felt for these two characters. Just - the whole face riding scene was so good and enjoyable, with the denial and build and oh. It wasn't earth shattering to read this smut, it wasn't over the top or phenominal... But it felt like (besides the use of magic obviously) I could reasonably have this experience with someone as well. And that, the fact that I could clearly imagine not only the characters but my own personal life engaging in this is what made me enjoy the smut so well.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book personally and wish I could read more of the authors works (however I am hugely arachnophobic and will never be able to).
Ember has checked off nearly every goal on her carefully built life list: move to the city, open her own boutique, buy a Victorian house. Love, however, stubbornly evades her. On a whim, she wishes upon a star… and accidentally summons Nyte, an ethereally gorgeous night demon with shadows and a broken heart. Bound by the magic that brought him there, Ember has one month to convince this cosmic, monster-shaped fantasy that she’s worthy of his love, assuming he’s capable of giving it again.
This was sexy, playful, and exactly as plot-focused as it needed to be without losing sight of the romance. Ember’s cheerful goth energy was an absolute delight, and I especially appreciated the quieter moments that gave her real emotional depth beneath the aesthetic. Nyte strikes a satisfying balance between grumpy and smoldering, and his curiosity about the modern human world added a layer of charm that kept him from feeling one-note. The pacing is tight. At 260 pages, it never drags, and the romantic tension is given room to breathe without overstaying its welcome.
If I had to nitpick, the writing can get a touch repetitive in intimate scenes, but honestly, there are only so many ways to phrase certain things before it becomes unintentionally awkward, so this didn’t detract from my enjoyment. This book knows exactly what it is and executes it exceptionally well. Fans of paranormal and monster romance will feel right at home here.
5/5 Demons with emotional baggage are still demons worth summoning.
As far as Ember knows, she's not a witch. Yet she managed (with a little help from a mischievous, sweet shooting star) to summon a demon who is grumpy, a little heartsore (to say the least), and incredibly sexy.
I might be understating things when I say Nyte is not thrilled to have been summoned. His trust was shattered by his last relationship and he has a hard time wrapping his head around the idea that Ember is not there to take from him. She's genuinely kind and does what she can to make their month together as painless as possible.
On Ember's end, Nyte is everything she'd wished for in a romantic partner. But since he's only with her thanks to the summoning, she tries to ignore his sexiness and treat him like a person. A person with wings and horns and the endless night beneath his skin, but a person all the same.
A little (okay, not so little) nudge from Nyte's found family, a nasty succubus who doesn't know when to quit, a couple of steamy kisses, a night demon who has to shake himself out of his despair, and a lady who wants a forever kind of love and might just have found the perfect male to share it with.
Oops! I Summoned a Night Demon was everything I wanted it to be.
This was the longest book in the series, and unlike some longer romances, it actually earned its page count. Tiffany Roberts gave this story plot, tension, yearning, character development, emotional growth, and a relationship that felt like it was built instead of rushed. Even with only one sex scene for a large portion of the book, I stayed completely invested because the emotional and romantic buildup was that strong.
What worked best for me was the way Ember and Nyte’s relationship developed over time. Their connection had real weight to it, and the story gave both of them room to grow. Nyte’s hesitation and emotional distance did not feel random or frustrating for the sake of drama. It had purpose, and that made the eventual payoff hit even harder.
Ember was also a strong heroine for this kind of story. Her patience, kindness, and willingness to see Nyte as more than something powerful or dangerous gave the romance a lot of heart. I loved the way their bond deepened, and once everything came together, it felt earned.
This book balanced fantasy, romance, longing, and payoff in a way that felt effortless. For me, Tiffany Roberts absolutely carried this series alongside Regine Abel.
Five stars.
4.25 ⭐️ 3 🌶️
“I am the void, the vast, lightless emptiness between the stars, the cold embrace of a cosmos your mortal mind cannot fathom.”
She smiles as she approached him. “But you’re covered in pretty little sparklies.” ✨
This was a lot of fun to read and definitely assisted in getting me out of my reading slump! While I thought some of the dialogue was a little cheesey, I loved the characters (mainly Nyte of course). I thought the concept was super fun and easy to jump into, as well.
“You brought me to see the stars,” Ember whispered.
“And you shine brighter than all of them, Ember.” (*swoon)
Starling was such a unique character to me. Really felt like Tinkerbell - if Tinkerbell possessed sharp teeth, four limbs and a take-no-bullshit personality lol She was positively delightful!
“She wished for you, Nyte. Foolish as he felt to even think it, perhaps some part of him wished for Ember in return.”
I would definitely be interested in reading the other three books in this series, written by different authors, as sort of palate cleanser books. If they’re anything like this one - I’ll enjoy it!
I loved this book! It was my favorite from the whole series.
Ember was a sunshiny, whimsical woman who didn't have much luck dating. Her best friend Maggie married a few years ago, and Ember wished she could find a guy who would love her the way Levi loved Maggie. After coming home from a disaster of a first date, she wished upon a falling star for true love. Only, the star wasn't really a star, and that led to a summoning Ember didn't know she was even capable of.
Nyte was a grumpy demon, a personification of night, with trust issues stemming from his previous relationship. Dude was miserable for centuries, but still couldn't let himself enjoy Ember's company. He was digging his claws in to stop himself from falling for her, but it wasn't working.
They were both adorable. I loved how enthusiastic Ember was, probably like most of us weirdos reading monster smut, would be in her shoes. Nyte was damaged, and I was screaming in my head at times, "Just let Ember take care of you, you dolt!" ;)
Tiffany Roberts does it again! 💕
Nyte and Ember have my whole heart! I love them both so much. The level of love and care put into Tiffany Roberts books is astounding and this book was no different. The banter and the quips were a delightfully light touch and the perfect balance to the gorgeous spice scenes.
I love a good strong, loving FMC who knows what she loves, what she wants and what she is worth; Ember being no exception from Tiffany Roberts . But I also loved how this book lets Nyte explore his trauma from his ex and what she did and the lasting effects that it caused, along with his coping and healing not being linear and fixed because new pretty woman. This dynamic between the characters both in terms of healing, romance, spice and just overall enjoying each other’s company is perfectly sweet as it is fulfilling. 5 star book 💖
I absolutely loved our two main characters! First, an FMC witch who lives in Salem and owns a goth clothing boutique? Yes please!
A goth grumpy night demon who has literal shimmering stars for skin!? Young me and adult me are absolutely drooling over this perfect aesthetic of a demon!
I related to our FMC so much & have a similar personality to hers. The way she was so sassy towards our hot demon boy, mood girl!
The way Nyte had to deal with his past trauma and resisting his love towards our FMC was heart wrenching and just pulled my soul in.
I loved the back-and-forth between our characters and the way the relationship evolved.
The main issue I had with the book was the antagonist and how it ended. Not enough built-up tension for me when the climax hit, but it didn’t ruin the rest of the adventure I got from the book.
As always, Tiffany Roberts knows exactly how to make a story impossible to put down. This was an absolute standout read; their writing remains incredible, magical, and deeply full of heart. I was completely swept up in Ember and Nyte’s journey; they are such a fantastic pairing.
One of the best things about this book (and their writing in general) is the emotional depth. The descriptions are so detailed that you feel like you can actually experience what the characters are feeling in real-time. Of course, the spice was amazing as always, but it’s that emotional connection that really anchors the story.
While I’m left wishing we could get even more of these two, the story felt perfectly wrapped up and lovely. It was such a fun, delightful read from start to finish. Perfect. 5 stars.
Now I want to make a wish of my own
A wish. A wish is all it took for Ember to have the man of her dreams crawl into her reality. If only it were so simple. If only all soulmates were found that easily. I feel like we all want the kind of love that is shown here. It was a beautifully written book with the grumpy/sunshine trope, and DAMN if this book didn't bring the spice with it!! 5 stars. No notes. No crumbs left. She cooked. Just... All the praise. All of the books have been incredible in this anthology, but this might be my favorite, and it is HARD to pass up my girl Opal Reyne. Oh nooo I need to add ANOTHER author to my list of favorites?! The horror!! Anyway... Stop reading my review, and go spread those pages! You know you want to.
