Lily and Will

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Trope: fake relationship, vacation fling, one bed, he falls first, secret identity, wedding

Angst: Low angst, easy read with a HEA

Pro: Dual PoV, funny, characters have heart and personalities. The pacing is good. You root for the fmc and mmc

Will asks Lily (his neighbor and friend) to be his fake girlfriend and attend his half-sister’s wedding where his ex is the maid of honor. They both are strongly attracted to each other, but after a failed hook up in the beginning of their friendship they decided to stay just friends. The tension isn’t if they’ll hook up, but when and will it make them reconsider being more than friends.

Will’s ex is toxic, but he is too blind to see it. Her date is the man that she cheated on Will with, so that adds another layer to the tension.

The book shows a good representation of a blended family and navigating different personalities. Lily’s character is protective of Will as she deals with also trying to protect herself from falling in love with her friend.

I came for the spice, I stayed for the plot.

If you want messy drama this is the book for you. The prologue messed up the vibe of the book. Important conversations were had but not about the MCs relationship and developing feeling over the last year they were hooking up with other people to spite each others lol meanwhile with dads good old example mmc thought he was in love with his toxic ex. The side characters were cool. I don’t think I’ll continue the series but I never understood why Lily liked Will so much she could literally have anyone she wanted who was more emotionally mature. The mmc definitely grows on you but damn he had to be spoon fed information which is annoying and then he just has an epiphany that he loves the fmc. This is the book version of the instagram video novels but a step up lol

The Girlfriend Contract gave me ALL the feels!! It has all the drama, spice, plot and wonderful characters!! They develop throughout the pages and each comes to life in their respected roles, letting their personalities shine..

Sunshine and Peach seem to be perfect together... communication is difficult, overthinking at its best...

Poor Peach's.... his family... I have no words for other then YUCK!!! I could actually see the look on some of their faces when the truth comes out....
This book was exactly what I needed right now, happy ending!! Can't wait to read more of these characters and their stories!!

Woah… talk about spicy with lots of personality

Sexy, sultry, sassy and so much more! This review does not give this series the justice it deserves. I loved these characters in the first book, I’m so glad they got their own story. Their development and personalities are amazing. I was fully immersed in the story and all the details that were perfectly written for Will and Lily! Looking forward to more! This writing style is easy to follow and flows nicely allowing the reader to loose all track of time chasing the next scene.

I LOVED THIS BOOK! Will and Lily aka sunshine are wonderful. In the beginning I was screaming for them to figure out they liked each other and the family drama really had me screaming throughout the middle! The book made me feel so many things and I loved every minute of it. It was so well written and absolutely perfect. The spice was spicing, the plot was plotting and I loved each and every character. Phenomenal!
