He swore he'd never want her. The bond had other plans.
Six months ago, Maya Thornton helped save an orc clan—then walked away from the warrior who haunted her dreams. She had a use her activist contacts to build support for their cause, return with the supplies they needed, keep her distance from Krag.
The plan lasted about five minutes.
Krag has spent six months trying to forget her. The human woman with fire in her eyes and no fear of his scars. The one his traitorous body recognized as mate the moment she crashed back into his world.
He doesn't want a mate. Doesn't deserve one. The war took everything soft in him and left only rage.
But Maya doesn't back down. Not from his anger. Not from his walls. And definitely not from the bond that's burning hotter every time they touch.
When the clan votes to reveal themselves to the world, Maya and Krag must work together to protect everything they love. But the real danger isn't from outside—it's the fire between them that threatens to consume them both.

This series has potential. I love how the author has the reader follow along as the Orc are rediscoverd. The characters are unique and interesting.
Now for the other shoe. Chapters are repeated or out of order. I had to go back a few times before I gave up. Also Maya is supposed to be a scientist and at one point she states that she is a mechanic with a shop. But she also talks about the connections she has in the academic world.
There's also a lot of missing puncuations and I had to guess what should have been. A well placed comma makes a lot of difference when it comes to certain things.
I really wanted to love this series. Maybe once the books have been through more edits. Ill keep the series on my to read list.
They met in the last book when she fell down an incline. She went seeking her best friend. She found her, but left to gather and organize support to protect the orc settlement. Six months later she came back with a plan. Unfortunately on her way back, she fell down a muddy slope right back into his arms. She was his mate but he fought the bonds. As she worked to safely expose the, their relationship grew and they got their HEA. I am enjoying this series and you will also
Just felt like I was reading a story. I know that sounds silly, but it felt like I was being told the story instead of feeling it. I didn't really connect with any of the characters or the setting or any bit of the story, I was just listening to someone else tell a story. It was a nice story, I just had no connection to it.
