What starts as a carefree wilderness getaway for Jay, Chloe, and their friends spirals into pure nightmare fuel when tension simmers, the group becomes separated, service dies, and blood-curdling screams rip through the darkness, signaling that escape is no longer guaranteed. Panic spreads fast as they stumble upon Amber, who feels like a lifeline at first, until it becomes horrifyingly clear that comfort is an illusion and people are vanishing one by one, each disappearance forcing the survivors to face their deepest fears and the unspeakable horrors lurking just out of sight, while Amber chillingly believes they signed up for every brutal second of this “adventure.” The tension is relentless, the atmosphere suffocatingly wild and unsettling, and the gore hits with a visceral punch that settles deep in your stomach and that ending? Wicked, cruel, and impossible to shake. I’m still reeling and already desperate for book two, because this is bloody, brutal, completely addictive horror, and an easy 10/10 for any true horror lover.

I don’t think Ashley Marie is capable of writing a book I won’t fall in love with. Ashley’s storytelling is just chef’s kiss 🤌🏼 every single time.

This one follows Jay and Chloe and their friends as they head out for what’s supposed to be a fun, few days in the wilderness. Everything is double checked, spirits are high aside from some tension between Jason (Jay) and Nick…until the group gets separated, service disappears, and those blood curdling screams start tearing through the night. Panic kicks in fast as they realize escape and safety are slipping further out of reach.

They cross paths with Amber who seems like the perfect savior at first but that comfort doesn’t last. Soon people start vanishing one by one, each of them forced to confront their worst fears and the horrors waiting in the dark all the while Amber believes the signed up for every single bit of it for their weekend adventure.

The tension? Relentless.
The atmosphere? Thick, wild, and unsettling.
The gore and terror? Visceral enough to feel in your stomach.

And that ending?! I’m still not over it. I’m already itching for book two because that ending was wicked in all the right ways. If you’re a horror lover, this is a 10/10 recommendation. It’s bloody, brutal, and completely addictive.

Ashley Marie nailed it again — and I’ll be one of first in line for the next one.

A few nights away in the wilderness with friends—what could possibly go wrong? Splitting into two groups, they venture into the woods, only to hear a girl screaming. Something is stalking them. The vibes are creepy, unsettling, and completely addictive.

As the monsters close in, one of them manages to reach a remote hotel/lodge and takes shelter, where they meet Amber, the seemingly perfect hostess… or so it appears. Amber offers hospitality and “entertainment” based on what she believes they requested in their application for adventure. The only way out is to work together—but will anyone make it out alive?

This story is gruesome, stomach-turning, and absolutely brilliant because of it. And that ending? WOW. I’m already counting down to book two.

As always, be sure to check your triggers.

Book Review: The Lost Call by Ashley Marie

I really enjoyed The Lost Call! The story of a group of friends heading out for a weekend adventure in the remote wilderness was exciting and easy to get pulled into. The way the resort was described was especially well done. I could picture every detail clearly, which made the setting feel real and unsettling at the same time.

Jason quickly became my favorite character. He kept Amber on her toes, and I admired how determined he was, even after losing all of his friends. His persistence added a lot of tension and emotion to the story. The ending was also very strong. I loved the suspense of him freaking out and then receiving the package, it was intense and memorable.

Overall, this was a great read with strong descriptions, solid characters, and a gripping ending. I would definitely recommend it to fans of suspense and horror.

A group of friends heading out for a camping trip. all seems well until it isn't. screams start tearing through the woods. cell phones that are in a dead zone. yeah, this makes for everyone's worst fear come true. the group goes running, looking for safety. and think they've found it at a resort. they meet amber and think the worst is behind them. little did they know it was just beginning.
amber isn't exactly right in the head. and her idea of fun is picking them off in the most sick way possible.
this book was a wild ride and then some.
it really makes you never want to go camping ever again.
this was a heart pounding, bloody, gorey, nightmare. and it had me hooked. this was scary in the best way.
I'm a huge horror fan, and this book sucked me in and bled me dry.

What starts as a get away with 5 friends becomes an all out who's next to die trip.

Jay, Chloe, Ben, Leigha and Nick all decide to take a little trip, a getaway in a beautiful forest at a gorgeous inn. what could go wrong? well, everything. after wandering upon arrival for an inn and the lake these 5 friends stumble upon Amber, the actual keeper of the inn where they were supposed to be. Little did they know the events that would take place.

this read will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. I havent found a horror that Ashley has written that I havent loved from the first page! I cant wait for book 2!!
