What people are saying about "The World Ender": "This was a crazy ride of a book... so incredibly unique. I highly recommend it!" ~ Cody on GoodReads "All I can say is... wow! I finished this book in one sitting and couldn't put it down!" ~ Kayla on GoodReads
George Greycloud Guess was comfortable with numbers... not people. He was a theoretical physicist, and in his mind, everything was an equation, a calculation of risk and reward. He'd made the calculation, but it still had taken every ounce of courage he could muster to brief a small group of Generals and U.N. Secretaries about his an invention that would make the global energy crisis disappear overnight!
George had made the worst miscalculation of his life. He'd left the classified briefing rich, but irrelevant. The world would never see the benefit of his device, and if he wanted to live, he'd have to keep his invention a secret.
Then came the an asteroid was headed for the Earth.
In fifteen years, billions of people would die in the aftermath. Suddenly, George's device was the world's only hope for survival. If only he could make his theory a reality... if only he had enough time... if only he hadn't discovered a dark secret that the United Nations had kept hidden from everyone...
Now, as Earth's population migrates into the safety of the domes, George must flee with his family to the only refuge he has his Cherokee tribe in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Hot on his heels is a deranged General, with hordes of Warbots and mech-tanks under his command, who will stop at nothing to keep the U.N.'s secret from getting out.
The world George once knew had ended. He was no longer a theoretical physicist, quietly working at a university. To survive the new world, he will have to become Greycloud, a warrior on a brutal path of revenge.
Saengard grew up spending lazy Sunday afternoons reading the previous week's collection of newspaper comics at his grandparent's home. He also voraciously absorbed anything about science and technology - diving headlong into the world of science fiction as his mind spun together in daydreams of what's real and what's possible. In his teens and early 20's, he began drawing comics, quietly developing his obsession with the world you see in his books. This story began as a comic in an underground free-press comic book in the late 90's. Since then, it has grown into an epic tale spanning decades and multiple characters. (plenty of books to come!)
When Saengard isn't writing on a 10-year-old computer, he works full-time in IT after retiring from the military. He has 2 grown children and a wonderful wife who have read all the revisions of his books over the years. You get to see the final draft! Not the hundreds it took to get there.
This is the kind of book everyone should be paying attention to because it feels uncomfortably close to where we are headed. The World Ender blends power, technology, and human loss in a way that feels real rather than exaggerated. People disappear, memories are erased, and control quietly replaces freedom, all without anyone fully noticing until it’s too late. What makes it powerful is how easily this world could become our own.
And I mean that in a good way. This was just a crazy ride of a book. Probably the most unusual book I've ever read. The whole concept was just so incredibly unique. I really look forward to the next one in this series. I highly recommend this book.
Not the usual dystopian story The rest contains SPOILERS!!! usually don't include spoilers but impossible to review without giving some away Genius discovers how to produce unlimited energy/electricity and that triggers a global government plan to unite the worlds population under a single.goverent. The same genius learns about all this, tries to stop it and then leads a rebellion to prevent it coming to fruition. At the same time trying to save his daughter. It's more complex than that, but that's the gist and it's done well Looking forward to book 2
Scientist enables the end of the world believing in many untruths. AI, Nano technology, mind control, involved with an asteroid hit projection fake ... At end we are left with everything of value destroyed and a no hope situation, sequel will have a great difficulty in making anything good come out of this. Borrowed from Kindle Unlimited, read with Alexa using the audio application.

All I have to say is...wow. I finished this book in one sitting and couldn't put it down! I love the world that has been developed in this story and I can't wait to see what Greycloud does next.
