I’ve never read a Tate James book that didn’t keep me completely engaged in from beginning to end and this book is no exception.
I am loving this new series so much. The social media star and secret girl identity premise is fun on its own but all of the interwoven mysteries are keeping me up at night. There are so many things we don’t know and I need answers 😭
I’m loving all the guys and I have no doubt the build up of some of the relationships will have mind blowing payoff. Not that we haven’t gotten some already, but I’m a girl who loves the holdouts in a why choose, and I know these will be epic.
Tate’s readers know how much joy she finds in our suffering and this cliffhanger is a prime example. It’s fine. I’m fine. I can wait. It’s fine.
Oh and let me just say, the audio is ✨ FANTASTIC✨
If you have a chance to listen, definitely do that! The full cast duet style is truly unmatched!

ANOTHER cliffhanger and we have to wait until December??? I’m literally not gonna survive. Every time I finish a book in this series, it puts me in the worst reading slump. I’M SICK. Please I need more.

About what I expected. If you were hoping to see a lot of plot progress or exciting Click Games scenes, you will be disappointed until the last 5% of the book. The majority of the book is Noah making super risky decisions with the guys that know her real identity, despite the cameras around everywhere, and the guys all obsessing about Noah (regardless of if they know her identity). Skye is no longer the only guy who knows and the reactions are mixed. Ace is a straight up asshole and his reaction does not jive with the character we met in the last book. August and Z are pretty much cast aside in this book since they don’t know or don’t have issues with Noah. It’s tricky to have so many MMCs, but I’ve seen it done well (ie Ironside Academy) and this is not it.
But seriously, the whole “fake boy” thing only works if the character actually tries to act like a boy. Noah doesn’t and the half of the team that doesn’t know the truth must be oblivious AF. The nicknames are strange too. Little Dude? Short Stack? Chicken? Rocky? Just…why?
There were some good moments. How Minho finds out Noah’s secret is pretty funny and I love Skye and Noah’s friendship. But I’m also terrified that Skye is going to be killed off since he is the only one who isn’t attracted to Noah and I will riot if that happens.
And, of course, it ends with another ridiculous cliffhanger. Tate James really can’t help herself.
Overall, it’s a Tate James book with all the standard elements. The murder mystery element really falls by the wayside and then the characters are suddenly tossed into a weird live challenge that doesn’t make any sense. Yes, I’ll still read the other books, but I have to say the concept is still loftier than the execution so far.

5 freaking stars ⭐️ I inhaled this book. I stayed up way past my bedtime to read it in release day and now want to immediately have a reread because having to wait three months for the next book to be released feels criminal.
I’m not even sure what about this series has me so drawn in, but I think it’s my favorite one of Tate’s yet (Madison Kate now coming in second place). The guys are all perfection, even when they are being moody, and the dynamic between all of them could not get any better.
I also like how they aren’t all falling head over heels for Noah. There is definitely going to be some drama with the Augie/Tor situation and I cannot wait 👏🏻 also what’s with Z and Tess?? So many questions to be answered in the books to come!!!

I need Peaches NOW. No, seriously.
There is one thing I can always promise when entering a new Tate James world. It will be absolutely catastrophically painful & gut wrenching and also 1000% worth every second. Oh, and the FMC is always a baddie.
Bubbles 🧋is the second book in the clickbyte series and picked up right where we left off in NoFear. And it’s chaos and thrilling and mind ducking. And I LOVED it.
Quick Note: Highly recommend reading the prequel novella Oblivion to get a sneak peak into Noah’s world and meet a couple of the guys, too.

A lot of people find out Noah’s secret. Ace is probably the only one who hasn’t reacted in a good way to her secret.
Minho’s reaction was kind of actually funny when he finds out. But I also get why his assumption made her sad.
I don’t really know how to review this book without fully ruining it so I’m gonna give you basics
We learned more about some of the characters throughout the book. And it leaves you questioning just how dark some of their lives are outside of the team.
Especially with the way this one ends. It’s honestly hard to believe that it’s not possibly just a fear response or if she’s actually seeing what she’s seeing in the end of this book. I wanna say it’s not possible, but with revelations from the character, she believes she sees at the end throughout the book. It’s quite possible that this person believed the best way for the team to move forward was to get rid of her. And they are impulsive enough to believe that they’re the villain.
I will spoil some things specifically with all the deaths that keep happening. I don’t know if anyone else picked up on how suspicious it is that only females keep dying in this and that certain results for the games happen later on in the book and it just makes you wonder if Sakura is behind all of this. There’s absolutely no proof as of right now that her or anyone on her team could be behind it, but I feel as though it’s a little suspicious if not.
My reasoning behind it is this: Noah sued her ex for releasing the peaches account without her consent or her knowledge of anything happening. Noah has an encounter with one of her teammates out in the open as herself in the middle of a storm at some point in this book right? And then the peaches account is reactivated. The spoiler here is she sees Richard, and he tells her that it’s not him that someone hacked his account and stole everything and he has absolutely nothing, including all of the content that he stored up from the videos he made without her knowledge. Not to mention, he’s also admitting that there are some deep fake videos that are now being released. We all know Xavier is obsessed with her account not knowing Noah and peaches are one and the same. And so he’s paying for every comment to talk to peaches when the account is reactivated and we know it’s probably astronomical amounts of money. Then GeeGee Sakura‘s team so happens to raise over $400,000. Beating team Olympus when even Noah admits from her own point of view that they knew they were gonna win as well as the fans knew they were gonna win so how did Sakura’s team suddenly win? I feel as though she’s behind the death as well as the peaches account being reopened. I could be wrong, but based off the information we got thus far that’s my assumption at the moment.
Tess. I don’t think we’ve met her. I don’t fully remember and if we have, she was probably that in consequential that she’s just lost over in my mind, but she assaulted him. Z. And I don’t think that’s fully like set in for him so that’s gonna be something that’s gonna be interesting to explore later.
I also kinda believe that Xavier what is the one to save Noah from the accident two years ago, especially with the conversation they had at the end of the book. And I can’t literally say anything else because then it spoils so many things.
Her relationships with a few of her team members are also progressing in the romance department because they’re the ones that know who she is. I read someone else’s review on here that said that her twin and her are eventually gonna get the romance phase and I really hope they do because I would love them together. I just don’t think either one of them have stopped and realized that yet right now they just think of each other as besties. I can also see Tiana being reintroduced here as someone who was in Noah’s life previous taking over that best friend spot. Especially when she can unashamedly talk to someone else who’s outside of all of this about all of her feelings.
I really really really wanna know why Miles does not like Ace on them. That’s still something we don’t know. Apparently Dickie has something to do with that though so it’s interesting to see where that’s going as well.
Auggie. He seems to have an extremely dark past so it’s also a thought of what if he’s involved in the death somehow? He admitted in the book that he’s the main provider for his sister who 16 and that he would do anything and has done anything in order to make sure she got the life she deserved.
I just can’t wait to see what happens from here. I’m also wondering if Tess is evil past the fact that she assaulted her boyfriend. We know her and Sakura could be in cahoots.
I believe the next one comes out in December and that’s just entirely too far away. I need to know what happens like now.

3.5 bc this is like pretty okay BUT I am legitimately unsure of which men are actually going to end up in the harem which I both love & hate. Also, this is the first cliffhanger I’ve read in quite awhile where I’m actually feeling like I’ve just read a cliffhanger. Which is totally awful and also excellent.
Bc like !!! Is he a bad guy?!?! I will be pretty sad but after doing some reviewing of facts, the math is sort of mathing for this guy to not be part of the harem. Next book cannot come soon enough agh.

Book 2 of the Clikbyte series did not disappoint. We got to spend more time with some of the guys that weren't featured as much in book 1. The dynamic between the all of main characters is constantly changing and the banter between Noah and Xavier is great.
Also, I want my own golden Skye bestie! ❤️❤️

Ugh. Another super cliffhanger ending! I wanna be mad. I am mad. But damn, I could not stop reading this book! Great characters, fantastic action, some very hot scenes. Part of me wishes I had not started the series until it’s done, because I am jonesing right now.
Definitely need to read the books in this series in order. You won’t be sorry.

Did I finish this ARC in one day? Yes. Was it as good as I expected? Absolutely. Was the cliffhanger as brutal as the first one? Worse actually. Do I now have to wait 5 months for book 3? Unfortunately yes. Do I regret knowingly putting myself through this? Hell no 😁

Okay WOW! Jaw of floor. Heart pounding suspense.
Some spoilers ahead:
I have been looking forward to book #2 since NoFear- guys, when I say literally obsessed, that is an understatement. I have read NoFear an embarrassing amount of times because it really is THAT good. Tate really upped the suspense and humor in Bubbles, everything I loved from book #1 is really taking shape now. The characters are all so unique and feel real as we start learning more about each of their stories. The plot-THICKENING!!! Secrets are coming out and not staying buried.
I absolutely love Minho, he really is such a shining star in this book- maybe because I love a jealous man who yearns, yearningly? Ace was also there but we’re on bad terms right now. Torin and Sky are SUCH cuties. Augie and Xavi are….definitely up to something. Z needs to step up!!
The ending. WHYYY the ending. I am going to need book #3 expeditiously (big word for elmo) because that ending is illegal.
I have so many theories brewing. I need a journal to reflect and an hour of meditation to calm down. Did I say I need book 3? Yes? Ah. Ok.

*cracks fingers* ALRIGHT! I am ready for a review of my thoughts/theories.
We finally get a Rich encounter. More than ever, I feel that little Dicky was the reason for the rift between the guys and Miles in their boarding school days. This guy is so pathetic he makes chewed gum on my shoe look good. He literally is a spineless shit and I hope that Ace really put him in his place. The scene where Ace came back after "talking" with Rich alone was sooo yummy I was giggling and kicking my feet because those were the daddy vibes that everyone has been speaking of that we have only seen little bits of so far. It really is incredible the whiplash we get from these Ace scenes. One moment he is incredibly cold, and the next he is literally knuckles deep in our heroine. Normally, in books, I am against people who do things so suddenly outside of their character but...honestly, Tate did a pretty good job of making sure that Ace's darker side was not a well kept secret. The fans see it, but Noah and the team were the ones who were surprised. I think this really goes to show how much Ace has been keeping behind closed doors as he is trying to do everything possible to make this team work. I wonder if there are other proclivities he hasn't been indulging? The hand necklace was maybe a flag (green or red? Red, for sure in real-world terms, but we are in book fantasy land).
I am loving how mischievous Minho is. He really is just fucking around with everyone all the time. Like a beautiful, bored god playing around with mortals. I think he may be the one in the end to propose the sharing because if there are two things I know about him so far, it is that he is crazy enough to think of it and that he loves his Chicken. Not to mention, the after-pantry scene with Torin? Finger-licking good. Okay, maybe not the KFC references? I think it would be a really nice breath of fresh air for him to propose it, because he still seems so down to earth that it would still be unique from other RH/WC books who ride the insane character trope a bit too hard sometimes.
Z. Break up with that girl, man. She SUCKS!! TW/// He needs help; surely she likely assaulted him while he was drunk out of his mind. It was also so crazy to make me sit through and read Z and Noah's conversation about his dream girl. Like, girl shut up. THAT'S YOUUU. Anyways (big sigh).
In terms of girl identity reveals, I think Xavier will be next (if we haven't gotten it already from that last conversation), then Z and Augie. There is some build-up happening with Noah's very identifiable birthmark that I think is building up to a glorious crashout. I think Augie reveal will come last so we can get some extra juicy tension with Torin.
Finally, that ending scene. I cannot believe that (Like Noah) this series has a chokehold on me. I cannot help but keep reading it over and over again to get all the baby crumbs in each scene. Fortunately, it leaves me with some theories:
1. That is not actually Xavier in the cliffhanger! I think that either it is a panic-fueled delusion in Noah's brain, merging the real killer and Xavi together. WAIT-let me explain! With the final conversation with Xavi and Noah, we get the sense that he was at least there when Noah had drowned for the first time after the gala. I think, similar to the Camp Beaver killing, Xavier thrust himself into the situation and had probably saved her from drowning and left without leaving their name. In Noah's THIRD drowning, her brain remembers him and is projecting those images into her final moments. This would be a great parallel with Xavier's masturbation scene when Noah had walked into the room, and she and Peaches had merged (which, crazy btw).
Another possible theory that I have seen around is that this is actually a Xavier impersonator, like with Ace's Pervy- I mean, PERCY. There was a lot of mentions that the fans have been at odds with the whole Minho/Xavier love triangle (and possibly daddy Ace from those leaked photos from the boba shop) and may not take nicely to Noah playing around with their feelings.
A third theory that I saw was that that was not actually Xavier but his sister. I feel like this is less likely, maybe, just because my heart probably can't take another conflict but I can see why it needs to be said! It sounds like Xavier's sister Rachel and Minho have a history that is obviously unrequited. I don't see it, though that the sister of Xavi would be so murderous, but who knows really? We haven't really even met her outside of mentions in book 1 and in that phone call with August's sister.
2. Augie- I am giving you big side-eyes because what was that POV? I think that Augie has more to do with these murders than anyone knows. The sharpshooter in desperate need of money is getting hired for jobs? Suddenly, two girls come up murdered; one is shot directly in the eye with an arrow, and the other is gunned down? I mean, cmon suspicious!!
I do have some reservations. I really feel that, since book 1, there has been a connection with August and Skye (and probably how we are going to get our golden retriever bestie into the harem), so I think in some way we are going to get an end-game with all of them. Although it would be close to impossible if we found that Augie was a true killer unless everyone gets really cool with things really fast. It also seems that Augie does have real feelings for Torin and is lusting over Noah, so this theory could be a bust, but he is involved in some real shady shit for sure.
People have been saying that they need Skye to stay a bestie to Noah because she needs a balance of real friends and lovers- which, in that, I agree- but I think in this book we were introduced to Tiana who is going to take Skye's place in the bestie category. I hope we also see Noah open up more to her old friends. It is definitely a part of her healing journey to get back all she lost with her toxic relationship with Dick.
3. Team GeeGee. These ladies are making their way up my suspect list. Especially after them winning the charity competition even after the guys had tracked how far ahead they were. Could there be a connection with the sudden charity earnings and Xavier's extravagant Peaches spending (really, Xavi? FOUR FIGURES?)? Also, with how manipulative we are learning Sakura is. My poor baby Torin needs protection; save him at all costs :'(

The characters are all so unique and feel real as we start learning more about each of their stories. The plot-THICKENING!!! Secrets are coming out and not staying buried.
I absolutely love Minho, he really is such a shining star in this book- maybe because I love a jealous man who yearns, yearningly? Ace was also there but we’re on bad terms right now. Torin and Sky are SUCH cuties. Augie and Xavi are….definitely up to something. Z needs to step up!!
The ending. WHYYY the ending. I am going to need book #3 expeditiously (big word for elmo) because that ending is illegal.
I have so many theories brewing. I need a journal to reflect and an hour of meditation to calm down. Did I say I need book 3? Yes? Ah. Ok.

*cracks fingers* ALRIGHT! I am ready for a review of my thoughts/theories.
We finally get a Rich encounter. More than ever, I feel that little Dicky was the reason for the rift between the guys and Miles in their boarding school days. This guy is so pathetic he makes chewed gum on my shoe look good. He literally is a spineless shit and I hope that Ace really put him in his place. The scene where Ace came back after "talking" with Rich alone was sooo yummy I was giggling and kicking my feet because those were the daddy vibes that everyone has been speaking of that we have only seen little bits of so far. It really is incredible the whiplash we get from these Ace scenes. One moment he is incredibly cold, and the next he is literally knuckles deep in our heroine. Normally, in books, I am against people who do things so suddenly outside of their character but...honestly, Tate did a pretty good job of making sure that Ace's darker side was not a well kept secret. The fans see it, but Noah and the team were the ones who were surprised. I think this really goes to show how much Ace has been keeping behind closed doors as he is trying to do everything possible to make this team work. I wonder if there are other proclivities he hasn't been indulging? The hand necklace was maybe a flag (green or red? Red, for sure in real-world terms, but we are in book fantasy land).
I am loving how mischievous Minho is. He really is just fucking around with everyone all the time. Like a beautiful, bored god playing around with mortals. I think he may be the one in the end to propose the sharing because if there are two things I know about him so far, it is that he is crazy enough to think of it and that he loves his Chicken. Not to mention, the after-pantry scene with Torin? Finger-licking good. Okay, maybe not the KFC references? I think it would be a really nice breath of fresh air for him to propose it, because he still seems so down to earth that it would still be unique from other RH/WC books who ride the insane character trope a bit too hard sometimes.
Z. Break up with that girl, man. She SUCKS!! TW/// He needs help; surely she likely assaulted him while he was drunk out of his mind. It was also so crazy to make me sit through and read Z and Noah's conversation about his dream girl. Like, girl shut up. THAT'S YOUUU. Anyways (big sigh).
In terms of girl identity reveals, I think Xavier will be next (if we haven't gotten it already from that last conversation), then Z and Augie. There is some build-up happening with Noah's very identifiable birthmark that I think is building up to a glorious crashout. I think Augie reveal will come last so we can get some extra juicy tension with Torin.
Finally, that ending scene. I cannot believe that (Like Noah) this series has a chokehold on me. I cannot help but keep reading it over and over again to get all the baby crumbs in each scene. Fortunately, it leaves me with some theories:
1. That is not actually Xavier in the cliffhanger! I think that either it is a panic-fueled delusion in Noah's brain, merging the real killer and Xavi together. WAIT-let me explain! With the final conversation with Xavi and Noah, we get the sense that he was at least there when Noah had drowned for the first time after the gala. I think, similar to the Camp Beaver killing, Xavier thrust himself into the situation and had probably saved her from drowning and left without leaving their name. In Noah's THIRD drowning, her brain remembers him and is projecting those images into her final moments. This would be a great parallel with Xavier's masturbation scene when Noah had walked into the room, and she and Peaches had merged (which, crazy btw).
Another possible theory that I have seen around is that this is actually a Xavier impersonator, like with Ace's Pervy- I mean, PERCY. There was a lot of mentions that the fans have been at odds with the whole Minho/Xavier love triangle (and possibly daddy Ace from those leaked photos from the boba shop) and may not take nicely to Noah playing around with their feelings.
A third theory that I saw was that that was not actually Xavier but his sister. I feel like this is less likely, maybe, just because my heart probably can't take another conflict but I can see why it needs to be said! It sounds like Xavier's sister Rachel and Minho have a history that is obviously unrequited. I don't see it, though that the sister of Xavi would be so murderous, but who knows really? We haven't really even met her outside of mentions in book 1 and in that phone call with August's sister.
2. Augie- I am giving you big side-eyes because what was that POV? I think that Augie has more to do with these murders than anyone knows. The sharpshooter in desperate need of money is getting hired for jobs? Suddenly, two girls come up murdered; one is shot directly in the eye with an arrow, and the other is gunned down? I mean, cmon suspicious!!
I do have some reservations. I really feel that, since book 1, there has been a connection with August and Skye (and probably how we are going to get our golden retriever bestie into the harem), so I think in some way we are going to get an end-game with all of them. Although it would be close to impossible if we found that Augie was a true killer unless everyone gets really cool with things really fast. It also seems that Augie does have real feelings for Torin and is lusting over Noah, so this theory could be a bust, but he is involved in some real shady shit for sure.
People have been saying that they need Skye to stay a bestie to Noah because she needs a balance of real friends and lovers- which, in that, I agree- but I think in this book we were introduced to Tiana who is going to take Skye's place in the bestie category. I hope we also see Noah open up more to her old friends. It is definitely a part of her healing journey to get back all she lost with her toxic relationship with Dick.
3. Team GeeGee. These ladies are making their way up my suspect list. Especially after them winning the charity competition even after the guys had tracked how far ahead they were. Could there be a connection with the sudden charity earnings and Xavier's extravagant Peaches spending (really, Xavi? FOUR FIGURES?)? Also, with how manipulative we are learning Sakura is. My poor baby Torin needs protection; save him at all costs :'(

Wow! I hate that I finished this so quickly and now have to wait until December. 😭 The ending was truly amazing!
The murder mystery plot, though? I’m sorry, but it is NOT functioning. It doesn’t feel like a proper tool in the story at all. People just sometimes get murdered, there is basically zero actual investigation, bodies are moved from crime scenes, murderers die immediately, and nobody seems to give a shit. Let’s keep playing, I guess. Sigh. I don’t even want to touch that whole situation. I’ll just say that the murder mystery is being executed so horribly that it honestly would have been better to abandon it entirely.
Thankfully, it’s not the main plot device. This is a why-choose book, so the actual important question is Noah and all the hot men around her. Let’s concentrate on that. 😂
I absolutely LOVE Minho and Torin. The beauty of not having to choose between these two is exactly why I love this genre. I loved every scene with them: their competition, their playfulness, and the way they accept Noah. Minho finding out was such a relief, and that whole scene was hilarious… and then HOT. Every single interaction between Noah, Torin, and Minho in this book is 5-star worthy.
I really hope Torin opens his eyes and sees August. I would LOVE for them to couple up, and no, Noah does not have to be part of it. I can easily see Torin being the center of that trio. 👀
Skye is a platonic bestie, and I LOVE that too. At first, I was surprised that a character playing such a prominent role in the group was just a platonic connection, but I really hope it stays that way. Or he can have his own thing with one or more of the guys. I just cannot imagine him being with Noah at this point. That would feel incestuous and forced.
And then there is Xavier.
My first thought after finishing the book, after “WOW,” was: “I hate that she is going to forgive him for this.”
He is DONE for me.
I do not want some excuse about misunderstanding the situation. He was trying to kill her. I would genuinely, deeply hate it if she forgave him because he is hot.
My theory is that the hacker who reactivated Peaches’ account revealed Noah’s true identity to Xavier. Since Xavier was the one who pulled Noah from the river the first time, her story only served as confirmation that what “Peaches” revealed to him was true. Hence the look of understanding and relief: to him, this was proof that he was doing the right thing.
He said earlier that he owes Olympus everything and will stop at nothing to protect the team. So, from his perspective, letting the “evil scheming bitch” drown serves that purpose.
And I absolutely DESPISE the idea that Noah could forgive him for this.
This is what I absolutely hate about the dark romance genre sometimes. A male character behaves completely inexcusably, but then he touches her lower lip, or stares at her with heat in his eyes, or “saves” her from an abusive ex, and suddenly everything is forgiven and we’re supposed to move on.
That is kind of what happened with Ace in this book.
One moment, she puts her foot down and says she will not allow him to treat her like dirt. The next, he touches her chin and suddenly she is flooded with thoughts about how hot he is. And the whole Rich situation happened AFTER that. She was already all hot and bothered for Ace before he actually did anything to show her that he wasn’t a total bag of dicks.
And even if he helped her in the end, that doesn’t mean he won’t treat her like shit again when the mood strikes him.
So yes, I am TERRIFIED that something similar is going to happen with Xavier.
Please, please don’t let this turn out to be a lookalike (we already did that in No Fear), a hallucination, or some other flimsy plot twist designed to redeem a character who LITERALLY TRIED TO KILL HER.
It’s not hot.
It screams cry for help.

4.5 ⭐️ Another book in this series that I binge in one day—3 hours to be exact. I ate this all up and would've continued to book 3 if it was released.
Both NoFear and Bubbles have been easy bingeable reads. There's a plot that drives the book forward, in this case we have a bit of a murder mystery going on. But the romance and all the characters is where this series shines, like it is with every other Tate James book.
It's crazy how many love interests are in this book, yet each of their voice and personalities are distinct, never confusing the reader who's who. Ironically, the one who's the best friend is actually my favorite! Skye is a TRUE bestie, always bringing so much lightness and support to Noah's life. But my gosh, I have all the heart-eyes for Minho, Torin, and Ace! I am so feral for them! There's this one very minor scene in the pantry that left me so gagged and in need of so much more of it!
The cliffhanger for this one left me reeling!! I have no idea what to think, while also having so many theories that aren't probably true. Yes, this cliffie was worse than book one, but now I'm even more excited for book 3!
When I started NoFear, I didn't really know what to think except that it was probably a Dark Romance—I was so wrong! This is more of a contemporary poly romance series that is FUN! I've truly had a blast so far being in this world. I love the dynamic all of the characters have, even the ones that haven't fully developed into a romance yet, but I know it's coming thanks to all of the crumbs.
Tate James really knows how to write an addicting why choose. I'd even go as far as to say that if someone has never read a why choose, they could start with this series.

OK, this is going to be a very spoiler filled review because I really want to get my thoughts about this book written down. Briefly, in general, I loved this book. It had all of the hurt comfort and found family that a girl could want. The characters felt like they acted believably and were all very flushed out.
I love how we got to learn more about August and his motivations because he really was the only character that felt pretty unknown to me. I think he could have something to do with the murders. Maybe not, but two of the dead girls from this book were shot? One of them through the eye?? We also know he takes side work with something shady and he feels he sold his soul to the devil.
Xavier? Ok let's get into it. Even after that ending, he still is one of the most intriguing characters. The big question is why did he leave her in that hatch to drown? He clearly worked out that Noah was the girl he met at the Rainburst gala. Maybe he was even the person who pulled her out out of the water. We don't know that bit. But we know they met because if you read Oblivion, you get to read about that night.
Here is what I think happened: Xavier worked out that Noah was a girl and that Noah was the same person he met at that event as Norah Sparkles. I think that he incorrectly assumed the worst - that she was infiltrating their team and was some kind of threat. He likely assumed that no one else knew about her secret and that he, opportunistically, needed to stop her from harming them.
Xavier is incredibly protective over the team and especially of Ace.
Speaking of Ace, his character development in this book felt so flushed out and was a relief. Having read Oblivion, we know that he is just as protective of the members of his team. So he also acted rashly and thought that she was a threat and intentionally there to harm them. However, he had the benefit of being able to think it over and talk it out with Noah. He also knew that at least Skye knew about her secret (remember, Xavier is acting in the moment and doesn't have this benefit). But I adored how Ace was given the chance to prove through actions, and not words, that he was sorry for how he acted and he had to build that trust with Noah again. Oh, and how he looked out for her given the whole Peaches situation? I might be a massive Ace fan at this point.
Things I am looking forward to: how is Noah going to get out of this bind?

🧋✨ BUBBLES by Tate James is the perfect reminder of why her books have me in an absolute chokehold.
The second I opened this book, it felt like I had never left the ClikByte world. Since it picks up right where book one ends, I was immediately thrown back into the chaos… and Tate wasted zero time putting Noah through the emotional blender. 😭 Noah, my girl, can you PLEASE catch a break?!
One thing Tate James does so well is balance absolute mayhem with moments that make you kick your feet and giggle. This book has everything I wanted: spicy moments, heart-pounding action, laugh-out-loud banter, heartfelt conversations, and a mystery that had me side-eyeing literally everyone. The slasher vibes are still immaculate, and every new reveal had me racing to the next chapter.
And THE MEN… 🔥
This book really lets Tor, Ace, and especially Minho (my forever favorite 🤭❤️) shine. Getting to peel back their layers, watch them confront unresolved feelings, and see their relationships evolve made me love this crew even more.
Also… why did this book have me craving boba every single time I picked it up? 😂🧋 Mission accomplished, I guess.
The suspense? Incredible.
The emotions? Painful.
The chemistry? Off the charts.
My anxiety? Through the roof.
And then…
THAT ENDING.
Tate… respectfully… WHAT WAS THAT?! 😭😭 It was every bit as diabolical as I’ve come to expect from you, and now I’m over here desperately begging for Book Three because I need answers immediately. My sanity depends on it.

This book picks up right where the first one left off, and it doesn’t waste a single moment. Everything continues to build. The relationships deepen and loyalties are tested. Every answer we get seems to come with new questions, and my little brain has been working overtime trying to piece everything together. Think of a lil hamster aggressively spinning in its wheel. Those be my brain cogs flat spinning. This gal is trying to solve the case 🤣
Tate, I have questions! So many questions! This girl is absolutely starving for the next book.
What I loved most was how the characters continued to grow. The emotional moments hit because we’d already formed those connections, and watching the dynamics evolve had me completely all in. The reveals to keep me frantically reading. I may have yelled at the end… a lot… but like, a good way. 😬
Now I’m left counting down until I can get my hands on the next book because I need answers.
I would recommend this book to others. I will be waiting anxiously for the sequel and definitely will look for other books written by this author.

In typical Tate James fashion, this book was so addictive. I had to do some serious self convincing to put it down every time that I had to, which led me to finish it way faster than I had hoped for. I was hoping to milk it out a bit, knowing full well that the next book in the series is quite a ways out. Also in typical Tate fashion, Bubbles ends on an epic cliffhanger, leaving me with a giant book hangover, and I will go so stir crazy, waiting to find out what happens next.
I want to start by saying that if you haven't read Oblivion yet, and are planning to pick this one up, you should definitely read that one first. There are some callbacks to events in there, and having the context is definitely something I'd recommend.
The characters in Bubbles are the same as in NoFear but with new information under some of their belts, there is some more great character development for the guys, and personally I've found myself endeared to even more of them. If you asked me today which of the Olympus boys is my favorite, I genuinely couldn't answer you. The main story and the side stories are all equally exciting and interesting as we get to follow along as Noah continues to hide her secret identity while living in a house with 6 men, who all find themselves attracted to her for some reason unknown to them. We get a front row seat to her inner turmoil, trying to balance her "boy" image, while crushing so hard on the thirst trapping hunks that she has to spend every day with. There are of course more mysteries with appearances from some of the other Clikbyte teams, and more interesting challenges for the Clikgames that throw the team for a bit of a loop.
All in all, this series has definitely made its way to the top of my favorites list, and I am waiting with bated breath for the next story.
I want to start by saying that if you haven't read Oblivion yet, and are planning to pick this one up, you should definitely read that one first. There are some callbacks to events in there, and having the context is definitely something I'd recommend.
The characters in Bubbles are the same as in NoFear but with new information under some of their belts, there is some more great character development for the guys, and personally I've found myself endeared to even more of them. Literally devouring this like a bubble tea, sucking every bubble until there is nothing left. Because Tate, what was that ending?! If your mission was to torture us even more after NoFear, ma’am you succeeded. Bubbles takes everything I loved about book one and turns the dial up a hundred times. The tension is thicker, the chemistry is hotter, the spice is spicier and the stakes in the games are deadlier than ever.
Noah remains the fearless fmc I adore, but keeping her secret identity under wraps within Team Olympus is getting impossibly complicated. Except now, secret relationships are the least of her problems. Competitors are being hunted, turning this high heat why choose into an addictive murder mystery. My brain is working overtime trying to figure out what’s happening.
I don’t know how Tate writes so many distinct povs without missing a beat, but every guy owns a piece of my soul. Skye exudes warmth and positivity. I adore his unwavering support to Noah (part of me wouldn't mind a little extra something between them). On the flip side, Daddy Ace has me in a chokehold with that hot and cold attitude. He’s observant, protective and commandingly hot. More please, sir.
Minho and Torin are so dreamy and sexy, I’m still recovering from the pantry scene okay. Seeing Xavier’s playful side come out was such a treat. I can’t wait for him to lose his mind when he finds out the truth about Noah. Z’s history with Noah feels like it’s going to accelerate their spark. I love how their backstory fits into the puzzle.
Having the group step up to protect Noah and embrace her people (Jared, Kelly and baby Isla) is everything. Bubbles has its all. It’s dark, spicy, suspenseful, but also sweet, funny and deeply emotional. I’m trying really hard to piece everything together, but Tate really said nope. The twist shattered all my theories. The ending was BRUTAL and I have a million questions. I need Peaches now!

Why am I masochist, you might ask?
Because I have read so many Tate James books, and I KNOW that the books in the series end on cliffhangers. She does them incredibly well.

Y’all don’t know the pain and suffering that ending caused me, and you know what I LOVED IT. I love the pain and suffering from a cliffhanger; therefore, I am a masochist. (I’m also a little sleep deprived writing this hence the silliness.)
But seriously, I love Noah and the boys so much, and this book was just as addicting as the first one. Minnie is my favvvvv, he’s so cute. But damn is it electric every time Xavier and Noah talk—or ya know, argue. I loved the found family vibes and how everyone wants to take care of Noah, even Xavier who “hates” him. The banter between all of the boys, Minnie and Tor being so sweet, and the tension between a lot of them and Noah had me flipping pages like a madman.
If you want a why choose romance with a super slow burn where Noah is pretending that she is one of the guys so that they can film heart racing, adrenaline rushing content to win a competition, check this one out!

Daddy Ace had me loving his hot-and-cold moments 😮💨, Tor and Minnie were just so swoonworthy 🫠🌶🔥, and Skye... BIG LOVE for Skye 🥹. I wish he was my bestie too, he always makes me smile. I kind of love that they're just friends... although I also wouldn't mind if they weren't lol 🤭. I think it's good for Noah to have a real friend there.
Now the other guys are amazing as well and I loved how we learned more about each of them and their (back)stories little by little. One of my favourite things is that they all have such distinct personalities. I honestly can't imagine how hard it must be to write so many different POVs while giving each of them their own voice.
This is honestly the most fun why choose series, and I am SO excited to see what happens next!! I am pretty good at guessing things, but this story is giving me a hard time making sense of the mystery... I am still at a loss who could be behind it all 🤣??
OMG THAT ENDING WAS CRAZY!! 🤯 I literally had to check my calendar twice to see how long I'd have to wait after that cliffhanger 🤣😭. At least December isn't that far away...

I am OBFRIGGINSESSED with Tate James books, and Clykbite is absolutely living up to the hype and i am legit obsessed!
Bubbles is book two in the series, and somehow Tate managed to take everything I loved about the first book and turn the friggin intensity up in this book. I completely consumed this book, i devoured it in less than 24 hours because putting it down simply was NOT an option. Once I started, I was all in and i was allfrigginin.
The fear, the unknown, the drama, the tension, the chaos… and that undeniable sexual chemistry had me completely hooked. There’s something about the way Tate James builds the relationships and slowly peels back the layers of the characters that makes it impossible not to become invested in them.
And can we TALK about the character development, With 7 men and Noah, it could be so easy for certain characters to get lost or for their growth to feel rushed, but that never feels like the case here. Their development feels natural and effortless, and I genuinely loved watching the dynamics shift and grow as the story progressed.
The suspense and constant feeling that something is about to happen kept me on edge, while the emotional moments gave the story so much more depth. It’s the perfect combination of darkness, drama, tension, spice and absolute chaos... basically everything I want from a Tate James book and that she manages to do so phenomenally.
And then, because apparently Tate James enjoys watching us suffer… THAT CLIFFHANGER.... Once again, the queen of cliffhangers has left me sitting here in desperate need of book three PRONTO because I need answers and quite friggij frankly, I need to know what the hell happens next
