Fear has always followed me. I just never knew it took so many forms.
One of my Valtrue members is gone. Taken based on a lie, and my soul won’t stop screaming about it. For us to get him back, we’ll have to face many fears. The guys have to return to the heart of where many of their childhood horrors took place. And I’ll be right by their side, fearing that these powers of mine will change the way they look at me. Too bad that isn’t the only obstacle we’ll face…
The realm’s pressing in from all sides, demanding choices, allegiance, and sacrifice. Things none of us ever wanted to give. Each of us is pushed toward the things we dread most. Power is tested. Loyalty is strained. And love… Love becomes the most dangerous fear of all. What prices will we pay for facing our fears?

You know when you're so invested in a series that you think you know everything? Yeah, that was me until this book shattered my expectations!!! ✨️✨️✨️
The anticipation I had for the continuation of this series was palpable, and it delievered and then some!!! The raw emotion, the plot development, the surprises...all wrapped up into a beautiful bow, allowing all of the characters you know and love make you fall in love all over again. 🥰
Not to mention the delicious crossover moments with the author's Source of Elementra series...which you know are coming if you've read SOE, but aren't prepared for. I have never cheered out loud for a scene in a book before, yet here we are. 🤪
Willa Rae does why-choose traumantasy right!!! If you haven’t started this series, this is your wake-up call to add this to your tbr immediately!!! Can’t wait for what comes next!!! ❤️
4 stars. This was much better than book 2. It was back to the level I am use to for this author. The plot kept mostly moving, and we learned more about the world and the characters. There was some downtime that could have been cut, not sure this needed to be 700 pages. As always (except book 2 in this series) I find her books super readable and flow pretty well so I never get bored.
Some scenes the writing could be clearer as to what is occurring, I did have to reread some scenes. Also, I still find magic system/world a bit confusing. At this point, it is what it is and may just be a me problem. I don't know if I didn't pay enough attention in book 1, or the author needed to explain things better, possibly a little combo of both.
You can't leave it like that when my favourite fc EVER shows up which I've been so hoping for. I hope we get her guys too because all of them together would be fantastic.
Your books are a total work of art and I really feel like im walking their paths with the detail you put into them.
I almost passed this series over because Williws story was the love of my life but im so very glad I decided to give it a go because its beautiful and tragic all at once.
I love everything about it and we got V in this series too so I was almost crying at that knowing it was possible for Willow and her guys to come to help because this realm was mentioned quite a lot.
This may be book 3 but if you are reading this, read all of Willa’s books. Truly amazing how she builds her realms and portrays her characters. There’s true representation of how abuse, love, growth, acceptance or the good and the bad, all of it. I don’t think there’s one book that I haven’t balled my eyes out to.
This latest book just knocks it out of the park, minor spoilers I guess, but I knew her books would tie together, even knowing that in my mind I was still screaming as I read the last line. You become so enthralled in this series you just fall into the story and forget the universe that’s being created. Highly highly HIGHLY recommend.
Subplots and plot, crazy power hungry and political scheming gods, more emotional depth and trauma bonding, and finally some high level spice with multiple partners at once! There were times the pacing of the action lulled to create more emotional depth and trauma bonding and I wanted more forward movement and answers as to the main plot but that ending was intense! We will be getting to meet at least one new character we have heard about in the next book. I really liked the devotion and emotional vulnerability of our fab five in this book and how they struggled to express their trauma. There were some annoying grammar issues in this book but overall, everything else eclipsed that.
I have loved every book in this series, but this one is by far the best yet! So much happens in this one, and I loved every minute of it. The storyline progression was well paced. We get some more answers but also more questions that add to the bigger picture. We also get loads of character development and growth. I love seeing how Thayla and her relationship with her men continues to grow, as a group and individually. The last few chapters had my jaw on the ground, and that ending! I’m so excited to see where Willa takes the next part of this story.
Another adventure in the Valorian Veil and man was it a true gripping one. We got some answers that have been lingering and yet we now have even more questions! I’m ready to find out what’s going on with gladian and mellcom so many questions about the two of them! This book had plenty of romantic advancement and also suspense that had me on the edge of my seat ! I cannot wait for the next book !
That ending was ughhhh, I cannot wait for Creed and Severyn to get their justice. I can’t wait for the next book, I should have waited to read this one but the series is good, I will do a reread in July. Would love to read a book about Devirious getting his temples back and maybe finding a love, I’d love to read him in a harem, I hate the 4 bothers Moms though, Deverious deserves so much more. Can’t wait for the next book!!!
A beautiful book really. After the second i couldnt wait to read the next one. Now that i did am sooo glad i read it in one go. I love this story, its such a unique take on gods. I never read anything like it before. The characters are very deep and our FMC is so relatable.
I love the little things we see and how the story is unfolding.
The cliffhanger is not bad, but very cool and makes me giddy for the next book!!!
Don’t ask why a 4 star review feels like too much. I am thoroughly enjoying this series but it feels a little pieced together sometimes. And I’m mildly embarrassed to admit I don’t get the different between the gods and the type of gods and the word they are in feels odd. I do greatly enjoy the relationship that the fmc has with all the side characters and the mmc’s. I was entertained so I’m looking forward to book 4
I'm so in awe of Willa's writing. This book kept me locked in from start to finish. That ending, whoa! I can't wait for book 4 in this series. Willa, this book was so well written and I loved the world building. It made me laugh and cry, and kept me shocked I at times as well. Thank you for your books, they bring great pleasure to your readers.
BEST CLIFFHANGER EVER!!!! I honestly can’t wait for the next book to release. This was an awesome read which is what I’ve come to expect from Willa Rae, her books are just amazing. The story had me hooked from the beating and I cannot recommend giving this book a read enough. 10/10.
Y’all should’ve seen my face drop when Willow fucking Vito introduced herself in the end. I mean, I hope the author fixes some of her personality. I literally dnf her story on the second book from the series, Gift from the Tree because she collecting every single power in the world like pokémon cards, and she kept acting like this scared little kitten who thinks shes different from everybody else and she kept acting sexual in front of her father/grandpa figure with her men. Ew. She also cried a lot.
I love this story 10 times more than hers. I will be reading the next book because I LOVED it and I hope Willow doesn’t ruin it. I’ll retry continuing the Gift from the Tree series but I didn’t like the mmc’s, the fmc, and.. well the fmc was basically the big problem in the whole plot and she gave me the ick. She was kinda cringe?
But anyways I loved this book. The author really improved and I love Thaylia. Shes a badass and I love that.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Ack! That cliffie. My heart is back in Elementra. Willa Rae did it again! Amazing characters, amazing story- I'm waiting on pins and needles for M and J to get their overall comeuppance!
This book had me in a chokehold the whole time! The development of the characters, the laughs, the love, the twists and the cliffhanger! Willa brings this world to life so intensely! Cannot wait to see where we go in the last two books!
Not sure I read the same book as everyone else. It was like meandering down a garden path that only allows you to go in circles. Around a clothesline. Honestly, I am still not sure what the point of this book was, the whole thing felt like filler interspersed with info dumps.
Really struggling to finish this book. It’s taken me over a month.
I just don’t like the FMC very much. I definitely swear in my real life but I feel like the author has made Thayla’s vocabulary such a personality trait that she’s just kind of vulgar for the sake of it.
Oh my holy lord I knew a cliffhanger was coming but that was a curveball and a half! Can we just have the next book now? Please? Another fantastic read!
Five stars because I couldn’t stop reading. A lot of answers were given in this instalment and a little more clarity. Can’t wait until July for book 4!!!
