She needed a fake girlfriend … she got so much more.
Harper Reyes has a problem.
Her ex-fiancée is getting married in the Virgin Islands — and Harper can't show up alone, not when everyone still sees her as the woman who got left behind.
She needs a charming, no-strings plus-one.
Enter Jade her warm, chaotic across-the-hall neighbor who happens to need a fake girlfriend of her own after lying to her mother.
No feelings. No complications. No falling.
Easy… until it isn't.
Between sharing the only bed in their suite, stolen glances at sunset, and slow dances under the stars, their fake relationship starts to feel dangerously real. And when a sudden rainstorm traps them together with nowhere to hide, Harper and Jade have to face the truth.
What happens when pretending becomes the realest thing you've ever felt?
A warm, sensual, mid-door heat story with emotional intimacy and a guaranteed HEA.
It had been a while since I'd read a sapphic book and I chose this one precisely because it was short, but despite being cute, it ended up being a pretty average read for me.
Even though it only had 46 pages, I felt that the story was very rushed. I wanted to see more of Harper and Jade, especially better development of their relationship. I think a few extra pages could have made all the difference in helping me connect more with the characters and the romance.
Despite that, it was still a cute and cozy read. It's that kind of light, fast, and nice-to-read story, but one that ended up leaving behind that feeling that it could have been even better if there had been more room to develop the plot and the protagonists' relationship.
not me wondering why the plot was moving sooo quickly, only to realise it’s only 46 pages long 💀 could’ve either been really cute, or really spicy & it was neither. v v v basic writing.
What a cute, short read with an interesting storyline, fun characters and a nice HEA. I recommend this to anyone who is short on time but enjoys good, well, short reads.
